The place was fast and quick, before I went there I called a few places prior. Pep boys estimated an hour and half for just a smog check. I called in to Fix N Smog and I spoke with Alex, he said 30 minutes for the wait time so I printed out the coupon and drove over. The taller gentlemen, Alex, was polite but very dry in his speech so dont let that fool you he was very nice. I filled out the paperwork and waited in the lobby. Took roughly 30 minutes and I was behind atleast 1 person, before I realized everything was done and I was headed home. I know someone recently complained about a price difference in smog check. The cause was probably older then 2000 model or something extraneous, as my 2006 passed and I paid the coupon cost and labor. I was losing just a little bit of oil but forgot to mention it and you caught it with your mirrors on the back side of the engine during the oil change in general inspection. Alex and his team did a great job on my car as far as I can tell. I called on Thursday to see if I needed an appointment and Alex told me to just bring my car in when I was ready. I went on Saturday, dropped my car off, and within 90 minutes he told me my engine needed new parts that he needed to special order. I let them keep my car over the weekend and early Monday morning Alex called to say my car was ready. Very satisfied with how fast they did everything and the prices are good. I took my car here for smog check my daughter came with me she said hi to OWNER who did not even acknowledge her saying hi. he had a really bad attitude like we were asking for something free. My car was repaired by a person who works for a local dealer but don't pass smog because I did not drive it enough after repairs to have computer relearn anyway he told me my car needed more repairs to get it to pass and that if he dint do repairs he was not going to re-test my car turn out my car pass somewhere else and needed no repairs. This place is hilarious for creating a new Yelp account with a different name to mask how poorly their ratings used to be. Their old account was under Fix-N-Go, which apparently is "now closed". Yelp should really do an investigation about the legitimacy of this place and all of the reviews, or bring back the old reviews that were deleted with the old account. Came here for a smog check, and I was in and out within 30-40 minutes or so. The guy who assisted me wasn't very pleasant (perhaps he was bored or tired or both), but he got the job done quick and easy...so that's all that matters. I asked him how long the wait was for a smog check (as in, "is there currently a wait?"), and he said 30 minutes. I then asked how long a smog check usually takes, to which he also replies 30 minutes. So I thought it was going to be an hour LOL...but he took my car in right away, so that's when I realized that our convo was probably a miscommunication. Pretty funny occurrence in my opinion, but maybe I am just easily amused. When he came back, he didn't even tell me if my car passed or failed...just told me the price and charged me, so I assumed it passed (thankfully it did based on the paperwork I was handed afterwards). All in all, fast service...but the customer service aspect could use some work. read more

The guy was rude and when I got my perfectly running car (when I brought it in) back it now had the Check Engine light on and it was idling really high. Late post but it's here. Brought my suburban here for a check engine light referring to a emission code.Shop replaced multiple parts with a whopping bill of 550$. When I picked up the truck the mechanic told me my water pump was leaking. I had replaced 2 months prior I explained it to him. He told me it's not ACDelco brand it's a off brand. He tried to sell me another job for 500$ plus. Anyway I refused had it double check somewhere else. They found a leaking hose cost 130$. So my light came back a couple weeks later took it back. Mechanic said it was a different code but it was still a emission code. The owner had a shitty attitude the mechanic had no explanation for me telling me try this & that. FINALLY A MECHANIC I CAN TRUST!!! Fix-N-Smog is now my go-to mechanic for ... anything really! They do it all. It started with a falling out with the mechanic I used to go to because he was the "family mechanic". This guy abused his position as a trusted source, overcharged for something that ended up failing a month later, and used DUCT TAPE to "repair" hoses in my engine. Finally fed up with being ripped off and with my car only getting worse, I took it to Fix-N-Smog as a last ditch effort to make my car run like it is supposed to (I basically got a lemon, by the way, from McKenna VW in Huntington Beach - be warned) . The guys at Fix-N-Smog restored my faith in mechanics! They took one look under the hood and validated what I had known all along: I has been duped - duct tape should not ever be used to affix hoses. They made me feel like I'm not crazy. They did what needed to be done quickly, for an affordable price and with professionalism. They are also really nice. The guys(Alex and his staff) let you know what's going on in a way even someone clueless about cars can understand without being condescending. *I also come here for affordable, reliable and quick oil changes! Alex at Fix-N-Smog was great! I came in with my check engine light on and my work truck running very rough. Alex's technician diagnosed the problem as bad spark plug wires and coil pack, because of this they also looked at my spark plugs and suggested I change those as well. I had recently changed my plug wires myself, so I was a little apprehensive to believe this. Sure enough, a couple of the wires were touching the header and had burnt through the insulation and destroyed them, also causing the damage to the coil pack. I got a coupon flyer from here so I decided to take them up on their brake-pad and oil-change specials. Parking is a little tight but I got in and was greeted by Alex who was very knowledgeable and explained to me that I would need Ceramic Pads because of my type of vehicle but would still give me a discounted rate. Because I didn't have the time to wait for the repairs, he kindly offered a shop loaner vehicle while my repairs were being done. I was shocked! I've never been offered a loaner for a couple hours of work. The price for all the work (front & rear pads, and 4 rotors, and oil change) was $300 cheaper than what I was quoted at Midas with coupons and I didn't have to make an appointment! One star is too many. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I was ripped off by this "mechanic". These guys claimed to have installed a new transmission in my car. Which after taking it to another mechanic was not true. After that I still had issues, these guys tried to tell me I had major engine problems and quoted me over a thousand dollars to fix it. When I took it to a reputable mechanic and had a diagnosis done I found out I had a sensor that had failed and it cost me less than $200 dollars to replace. Look at the yelp reviews for fix n go. It is the exact same business with the exact same employees and owner it has 1.5 stars and 29 filtered (fake) reviews. The only reason I am even giving this place 1 star is because ZERO is not an option! Oh yeah, I'm not going to spend 675 bucks to fix my AC, therefore he does not have time and won't even look at the other issues happening. My door locks are broken and my alarm keeps randomly going off even while I'm driving!!! My car has been there since 8:45 this morning and I had to call and see what was happening just to be told they aren't even willing to complete the other work!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! It was recommended to me by my parents who will not be going back either! What sucks is, I'm at Disneyland and can't even pick it up to get it to somebody who's willing to do the work.
