I have extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received from !Fixed following the failure of the heat pump system I purchased from !Fixed two years ago. While the initial installation appeared satisfactory, the unit itself has proven to be unreliable and significantly below the expected standard of quality. The heat pump malfunctioned, leaving my family--including three children, two of whom have special needs (Autism)--without air conditioning during a prolonged period of extreme heat (temperatures consistently in the 90s, reaching over 100°F on several days). This posed a serious health risk to our household. The heat pump's failure occurred twelve days after the expiration of the two-year labor warranty. While I understand this, I find the subsequent handling of the repair unacceptable. Despite !Fixed technicians diagnosing a faulty capacitor, and claiming to have a replacement on hand, I was presented with an ultimatum: pay $165 for the part immediately, foregoing the ten-year parts warranty, or wait 7-10 business days for the warranted part, incurring an additional $134 service charge for its installation. This situation felt like blatant exploitation, particularly given the urgent need for repair during the heatwave. The discrepancy between the !Fixed technician claim of having a replacement part immediately available and your insistence that I either pay for it upfront or endure a significant delay, contradicts the excellent service you claim to provide. My attempts to resolve this issue with your customer service and management teams have been met with complete silence. This lack of communication and responsiveness further compounds my disappointment. The substandard quality of the product and the subsequent deceptive practices are deeply concerning. I wouldn't definitely recommend not using this company. They took advantage of my family and in my opinion, they are crooks! read more

I reached out to this company because I wanted to replace my thermostat with a programmable thermostat. I have oil heat and apparently my system is not quite standard, so it was not a quick and easy fix. John, the owner, came out and looked over my system and was able to find me the perfect thermostat. I wanted something with a customizable display, but that also would work with my system. John did the installation and went above and beyond to help me customize it and answered my many, many questions. He was friendly and patient with me, as well as incredibly knowledgeable. I used this service last summer and had a very good experience. My compressor was covered with ice this winter I changed the capacitor but the fan still not spin. So, I called "Fixed! HVAC", they sent Kevin to my house. Kevin told me to turn on the system (heat), so, I went in to turn it on. WHen I came out, he simply said my fan is broken and I need to replace one which will cost me $650 (he said Carrier fan is always expensive) plus this time inspection fee $124. He wrote that he spun the blade. I paid the $124 and decide to ask a 2nd opinion. Well, after he left, I just follow his invoice and spun the blade, BLUR! the fan just started to work. read more

Stay away from this company!!! Their business module is predatory, their technician like Kevin Hynes has no professional ethnics at all! My AC is 21 years old, it was not cooling down, I knew it need to refill some Freon. So I called FIXED! on Wednesday morning telling them my AC needs Freon. Kevin came, after a quick look, he said I need to sign a contract with them to replace the whole system first, otherwise he won't fill the Freon. Since I have been considering to replace the system, so I happily asked them to email me the estimates, Kevin also confirmed me he would come back in the afternoon to get the AC work if I agree to sign the contract. Before he left, he request $134 for the trip, so I gave him the money. Then I started to review the estimates they emailed me, did some research on the brands of AC, called their office to request another AC brand estimate, she agreed. But no more emails coming, so I called back, she told me she was waiting for Kevin's response, so I called Kevin directly, that was 2:40pm. I asked him come back to get the AC working, he said he was on the way home, his business hour ends at 3:00pm, he can come the next day to fix it if I sign the contract. It was hot, even I signed the contract, he wouldn't come back to get the AC working the same day! Luckily, there are other companies are still open, Thursday and Friday were very hot too, on Friday noon, Kevin checked me back on the contracts. I responded: I already died due to heat!!! read more

We now have a brand new AC and furnace thanks to Fixed! As said in my first review, we were given a ballpark estimate and saved up over the winter to pay for this. When we were ready, we called him back to get a more official estimate and it was practically the same as his ballpark. Very cool! Communication was great, as usual. They arrived on time and got right to work. The install was done well. No sloppiness or cutting corners to save time in the install. All the lines from outside to inside are installed neatly and out of the way. The price was more than fair and the company in general is awesome. Super responsive - have been offered an appointment for within 24 hours each time I've called. Every technician Fixed has sent has been knowledgeable, friendly and very good at explaining the issue and repair necessary (or the options for repair), and getting us back up and running quickly. I can't comment on Fixed's prices as compared to others, especially because our HVAC system is complicated and I know the parts themselves aren't inexpensive. But the prices do not seem to be out of line with what I'd have expected to pay. And in reality, even if they were a little more than someone else, it would be worth it to me for the level of responsiveness they offer. read more

Our AC broke last month and after seeing all of the great reviews, I figured I would find out for myself. My husband and I were prepared to have to pay for a new unit and we were dreading hearing those words. Usually most places always want to sell you stuff you don't need so we went into it expecting the worst. We've used John a few times over the past couple of years and he is the best! We've had issues with our builder grade unit that is getting up there in age and he has been able to fix the issue for a reasonable fee while others have tried to sell us a whole new system or convince us to sign on a service contract. This last time, we called him on a Sunday afternoon since our AC was broken again and he arrived 10 minutes later. We thought our system was done given what he had told us the year prior but he was able to fix it up and said we didn't need to buy a new unit then. John is definitely not trying to sell you a system that you don't need! He works incredibly fast, is professional and personable and his rates are very reasonable. I have used him a few times for repair and he has always been honest, never tried to upsell additional parts or services and has had reasonable pricing. The last visit was to replace my whole HVAC system. John offered various product suggestions and price points. Once we agreed on the equipment he quoted me a price. I agreed and the equipment was installed a few days later. Talk about a professional job. Wow. When he was done, other than shiny new equipment, you would have never known he was there. Our air conditioner stopped blowing cold air over night. Of course, your first thought is the money that this is going to cost. After calling 3 other companies who found reasons not to come to my place, I called Fixed!. John actually answered and was here within an hour. John was cordial and professional. He quickly identified the problem (blown fuse) and made the repair. There was no upsell. No suggestion to replace 8 other things to make the call worthwhile for him. Requested a quote to replace a leaking hot water heater. I was quoted nearly double what the next contractor I called did the job for: a 4-figure difference on a job that only took the guy 2-3 hours. Communication was ok, but I have no idea why the price was so much higher! I've never been charged to get a quote for work in the area, but I also received an invoice for the quote! No fee for providing the quote was mentioned before hand. Edit: See John's reply - he waived the fee, which is very decent of him. There was apparently a miscommunication on both our parts. John is one of those very rare finds! His hourly rate seemed high when quoted, but *HOW MUCH* he accomplished in the time he spent here was extraordinary. More like astounding! However, the technician showed up within two hours of my non-emergency call, resolved the problem, did not try to sell unnecessary services, and was genuinely honest. Heat wave and 9 months pregnant - of course that's when my AC died! I called two other companies (no particular reason or order) and they couldn't come out for about 2-3 days. I called this company this morning and they squeezed me into their schedule within 2 hours. They even called when 20 minutes out! They were able to find the issue, fix it, then inspect the whole HVAC system for any other issues, all in less than 30 minutes.
