One of the worst company , I requested for ceiling cracks repair, couple of months back. without checking height or any other details , they scheduled a visit to my home , after coming they said they can't fix if the ceiling height is more than 12 ft. without getting complete details coming for service is Fixer company speciality. and they will ask US to pay $119. too costly, worst service. attaching proof of receipt for others. Even for their mistakes , we have to pay the amount. My suggestion for others who want take fixer team services , please stay away from these guys.

(Review updated to account for re-work) My overall experience of getting some small drywall repairs +texturing had some bumps. Drywall texturing might be a bit more specialized/dependent on local experience than other handyman type jobs. After an initial drywall fix fell short of agreed scope, fixer had a follow-up worker come by to make a more reasonable match of the texturing, at their expense. Pros: -Responsiveness on Communication - The service was the first to respond for my bid on a drywall job, which was good. -Availability - If you need a quick/emergency repair for which you aren't handy, this may be a good option. Seattle tradespeople aren't always super-available - Fixer has recently been bringing in some folks temporarily from Chicago to help bolster their team here. -Friendly Attitude - All the fixer staff I have interacted with have been friendly/polite. Cons: -Expertise - Fixer's workers are generalists, who have a stock set of tools, but do not specialize in any particular trade. They provide folks with some baseline training, but the company takes jobs for a variety of tasks, meaning folks may not be super well practiced on details of any particular kind of job. E.g. Both of the fixers that came to my place didn't were not particularly experienced with orange-peel drywall texturing(which unfortunately is semi-common in Seattle area condos), as opposed to Flat drywall. -Pricing model/Warranty - Look on their website to make sure you understand their model. Normally, Fixer charges an hourly rate. In my case, the work took longer than quoted due to questionable assumptions an initial worker made. Fixer did reach out with me to try improve on the key issues with the flawed repair at their expense which helped, but I don't take that as a guaranteed thing. -Scheduling/Timeframe- My appointments got cancelled/postponed at least a couple times due to earlier jobs running over. I believe they offered a $25 credit for future work with each of those cancellations. My experience: Initially - I had a drywall repair and texture matching job to replace a number of holes cut by an electrician. The initial fixer decently repaired most of the patches themselves, but one large square section at eye level had an obvious recess of 1/4 inch from the surrounding wall, which he thought was fine. When I brought up the problem, he commented the electrician should have shimmed the drywall out. The screws for the patch which the fixer was hired to repair were accessible when he started. He spent time applying a veiny sponge effect, where my walls have a orange peel texture which is sprayed on. It didn't make for a good match. My reason for bidding this work out, rather than attempting it myself was I wanted someone who could make repairs that would blend in well. After I shared my feedback, fixer reached out afterwards, and we agreed to have another follow come by to try to correct things. The second fellow applied some drywall mud to flatten out a section of visibly recessed drywall, and sanded + applied orange-peel texturing to get a less obvious contrast between the textures. To sum up: A lot of work the fixer company does makes sense for generalists/handymen to take on. In my view, the textured drywall repairs requires experience and attention to detail to recognize potential issues early, and a practiced hand to do quality work. Some fixers might have good background for doing this kind of work on first attempt, but I think it's a roll of the dice.

This is my 3rd time giving Fixer a try. I haven't been overly impressed before- but generally they are responsive and fast, so I decided to give them a try again. I own a salon in Lincoln Park, and I needed some lightbulbs and track light heads replaced. The ceilings are quite high, otherwise I would DIY- but I don't have a ladder that tall. So I requested Fixer to come. After they arrived (they sent 2 people) I was given a quote of 2.5-4 hours. Well, lucky me- they actually finished in 1.5 hours! (Approximately 40 minutes of that was shopping at the Home Depot 2 blocks away). Imagine my shock when I received the bill, and was billed for 3.5 hours of labor PLUS an additional 40 minutes of shopping! The "support" I received over email is laughable, and as other people mentioned- when you call you get no answer. I was told that there was an extra charge because there were 2 fixers (ok, fine- but I wasn't informed of this prior to the appointment). Also- I simple do not understand why I'm being charged for EXTRA TIME when the appointment just didn't take that long. I have text messages to back this up, and shared it with the person via email. Then their reply was "We're going to give you a COURTESY refund of half an hour." Excuse me, but inaccurately charging me for more time than the appointment took and only giving me a quarter of the payment back isn't a courtesy- it's fraud. Update: Fixer did reach out to me and try to remedy the situation, and I was refunded for an additional hour of time. Please be aware that they are charging their hourly rate AS WELL AS an additional shopping hourly rate. So you're basically getting double charged to have them go to Home Depot. Try to have the items you need to complete the task to avoid this charge. And also- if they send 2 Fixers- refuse! There is no reason to pay DOUBLE the hourly rate (yes, $278/hour!) for a very simple.

Good experience with this team! First, i don't think you'll find a more integrated user experience when chatting with them. They communicate mostly by text and have a sound internal system to track your conversations and requests. I called them out to install a custom barn door my farther made for me. My team, Louis M and Toufik B, worked well together. It was a long process to figure out how to install a custom barn door with a rail kit that I ordered, in a 100 year old building. Though there were some tricky issues along the way, these guys found a way to do it! In one of the last steps, the excess rail needed to be sawed off with a special electric saw. They realized they didn't bring the right tool to finish the job. I appreciated that the teamed turned off the clock to go run to their shop and pick up the tool to make it perfect. We were impressed by what turned out to be a job well done!

I bought a condo in an iconic Chicago high rise and I didn't know where to start to get all the "little things" addressed, but Patrick from Fixer was a dream! The leaky faucet will get repaired, the loose faucet got repaired and my punch list of silly "little things" has been turned over to someone with skill, creativity and with whom I trust and have the utmost confidence. Patrick was quick and effective; his problem solving skills are exactly what I needed. Well done FIXER! Looking forward to the return visits to continue on the list. BEWARE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! FIXER DESTROYD MY NEW DISHWASHER AND COMPANY REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORCED TO SUE THEM. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Last month a Fixer came to install a new kitchen faucet, he failed to turn the water flow back on TWICE. After the faucet was installed, I tested the hot water I noticed it didn't come on, so went back under the sink & he turned the flow back onto the hot water; unbeknownst to me he also failed to turn the flow back onto my dishwasher. Days later, my cleaning professional ran my dishwasher, neither of us knowing there was no water flow. I opened the dishwasher to find many melted plastic Calphalon & Tupperware items, as well as burned soap on the inside of my stainless steel door of my 12 month year old GE dishwasher. I reached out to FIXER & I followed up several times before the Fixer finally sent out Jessica, another Fixer, who confirmed my dishwasher heating and drying system had completely BLOWN due to no water flow. Jessica also tried to remove the burn with baking soda - it did not work. Jessica (who was great) said Fixer Co. would likely order a new steamer parts for my model and try to get a replacement door. My dishwasher no longer heats or dries dishes. Over a week goes by I hear nothing, I follow up again & again, finally someone named Becky and Susanne Duwarsk (a FIxer Founder), sent me callus & insulting emails saying they will not do anything to fix my dishwasher. Susanne sent me the phone numbers outside contractors that I (ME) would have to pay for - without being reimbursed by Fixer. FIxer only offered me $94 Fixer CREDIT. Susanne even tried to blame General Electric, alleging GE they built a faulty machine. Susanne said, the machine should have shut off once it realized no water was there. GE came to my home ($99 diagnostic fee). BTW: GE only services on weekdays and only offers 4 hour time-blocks with no ETA, so I had to miss a day of work to wait on them. GE confirmed that the machine's relay mechanism worked exactly as it should have by basically blowing-out once the machine got too hot due to no water flow. GE said, if the relay mechanism had NOT had blown (due to no water flow), the dishwasher could have easily caught fire and burned my home down. I am beyond hurt by this and never expected this company to be so cruel to its customers. This has been extremely stressful. This company brags about how the Fixer Co is owned by the creator of GrubHub Michael Evans - someone who can clearly afford to make this right. Fixer refuses to return my calls (I have never spoken to anyone on the phone but I have left messages). They also refuse to respond to my emails. After they offered the $94 Fixer credit, they completely disappeared; washed their hands of me and the entire situation. The bottom line is this: If the Fixer turned my water back on as he should have (since he turned to off), NONE of this would have ever happened. Unfortunately they sent someone incompetent. This falls on the Fixer Co - no one else. My beautiful dishwasher was $500+ and it cost $99 for GE to come diagnose the issue and will cost even more parts and repair. GE said the cannot do anything about my burned door - it will just be something I have to live with. I do not understand why I, the customer, am being treated this way this company. I even told them I understand humans make mistakes, just make it right. I am thoroughly disgusted by your company's treatment of its (loyal)customers. I cannot believe that I now have to take them to court to get this resolved. BE CAREFUL with the Careless company. They can fix almost anything except their own mistakes! read more

Fixer is an amazing service! I found them to honest and professional, dedicated to the highest possible work ethic. And for an absolutely fair price! Katie P and Jen S were phenomenal. They really waste no time at all and got right to work upon arrival. Knowledgeable and thorough, I appreciated that Katie explained everything that she was encountering so that my husband and I were always in the know. They replaced a garbage disposal, a leaky pipe, a wax ring, and reset a toilet per our inspection report request. It was quite obvious that Katie was extremely experienced and took great pride in her work. She went out of her way to do little things, cosmetic things, to ensure a job well done. We tried Fixer for the first time to re-caulk our shower and sinks. Their customer service is fantastic - responsive, helpful, respectful. They initially sent a fixer who didn't do a great job but quickly remediated the issue with a highly experienced one. Gwen was awesome!! She came on time, kept us informed, and was thoughtful and meticulous in her work. It was also really refreshing to see a woman trained in handy work. The 4 star rating is for the initial snafu - we have a baby so it was tough to make time and clean before/after the first fixer during COVID, only to have to repeat the process again on a weekend. read more

Don't waste your time and money. I sent them pictures and gave them a detailed explanation of what needed to be done. The person setting up the appointment was so sure it was an easy job, that could be completed in an hour or two. The electrician showed up was unable to complete the job and fixer still charged me an hours work. read more

I've now used Fixer twice and it's been awesome. The first time, my girlfriend's hair straightener blew a fuse in our bathroom. This was the first time I encountered Fixer and the process was so much easier than my previous dealings with electricians. It was cheaper and the work was done within just a couple days of reaching out to them. Then just last week Brian came out to do some painting around the house. The work was completed quickly and at a reasonable price. There were some areas that I thought required paint, as I had tried numerous products to remove scuffs, and Brian showed me how a magic eraser could make the walls look like they were freshly painted. This saved me a lot of time and money. Many contractors would have probably just re-painted and billed me. I really appreciated that Brian helped me solve my issue on my own. read more

I've used Fixer for now three times now for a variety of projects - building my bed, building stools, building a bar cart, hanging things, putting together different fixtures in my apartment. The service is awesome - it's super easy to book an appointment and I've found that they always get back to me super quickly. The only reason I'm giving four stars and not five is because they don't book on Sundays, they have a flat hourly rate (which was annoying when I had a small job of hanging something up and it didn't take the full hour) and the last time I booked something the technician came 30 minutes late. Other than that, I'll definitely use again. read more

Fixer came told us the water needed to be turned off. Led him to where the shut off was located. He then informed me he was not allowed to assist in shutting the water off. So, we couldn't shut water off. Charged $130 for nothing!! Next day maintenance man turned water off, I did the job myself in 5mins!! read more

I've used fixer about 10 times in the last year and each time was a very pleasant experience. They even did a partial remodel of two bathrooms for me with new paint, vanity, mirror and light and I paid much less than a general contractor would have charged. I've hired thru Fixer twice already, each time involving multiple jobs (including light electrical). In both instances, Fixer was very responsive to my online requests for quotes and schedules. The handy persons sent were extremely professional, friendly and honest. Great work results both times. They skew towards the higher end of rates, but both handy people spoke well of the Company, which says a lot these days. I definitely will use them again and recommend them to others. read more

Hired for besta cabinet and tv install on wall. First they told us 2 people will come, only 1 person ended up coming who spent the 1.5 hrs looking at ikea instructions and complaining how terrible they are and being on the phone trying to figure out if he could get another person. (I put in request exactly what was being done maybe they could have watched a youtube video?) Second guy was much better/faster but they left scratches on my ceilings, two extra deep holes on my wall since they did not place the tv in the right place initially, tons of dust on the floor which they did not clean up and 1 crooked cabinet. I sent a follow up email for patching wall and cleanup and heard nothing. They were here 5.5 hrs for 2hrs of wrk. I would not recommend them. read more

Great service! My garbage disposal broke and I needed a replacement installed. I decided to call fixer and they sent someone out the same day, whatever time worked best for me (very flexible and great availability!). Katie came out, she was very punctual and friendly. She installed the disposal replacement in no time and let me know to call right away if any issues happen to arise and they will come back out. I haven't had any issues. Thanks Katie! read more

I had a long list of items I needed fixed and was looking forward to having them finally checked off. My apt was scheduled from 11-12 and he arrived at 1:00pm. Not that big of deal. For the sake of my time and whomever is reading this he left around 5:45pm and had only replaced 1 toilet. I was charged $564 for 1 item on my list- a toilet replacement. He explained that it wasn't an easy fix and that he needed to go buy longer water lines, etc. But in my mind I'm thinking "I should have hired a plumber who came prepared". Anyway, lesson learned. Don't hire "by the hour" contractors or at least this one. Maybe someone else will be helped by my mistake. read more

I would highly recommend Fixer! I quoted 5 other companies and they were by far the lowest. Response time was less than 10 minutes. I was able to book my appointment via yelp messages with the owner but you can also book your appointment on their website. I loved the fact that they had 5pm-7pm appointments as well! Brian showed up on time, was very quick, knowledgeable, and friendly. The second Brian left I sent a mass text to my friends to let them know to bookmark Fixer for all their needs! My experience couldn't have been any better! 5 stars!! read more

I've used Fixer twice now for various projects around the house. The first project involved fixing a variety of different issues that arose during our inspection, from window cranks to dryer venting and installing a Nest. Each of the tasks was done quickly and expertly. The second visit involved taking ten mirrors of varying length down from around our fireplace. Each time, Wayne S. did a fantastic job. He not only exhibited the knowledge I was hoping for, but also the care he approached each task was much appreciated. Finally, I was impressed by the transparent pricing structure and the prompt communication. I will definitely be using Fixer for my project needs going forward. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Mike E.

Fixer is not Mike's first foray into entrepreneurship: after he graduated from MIT with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, a quest to order pizza online led him to cofound the food delivery service GrubHub, which he led from 2002 to 2014. As GrubHub grew--and with it, the gig economy it helped create--Mike realized that even when pursued full time, gig-based jobs are "kind of a dead end" for those seeking long-term career growth. The gig economy is a bit of my Frankenstein's monster and Fixer is an answer to that--it's a very intentional, W-2 employee, career-oriented model. Mike details his professional evolution in a memoir, Hangry, to be published in 2023.

An hour or so after he left, I ran the water in the vanity sink and there was a noticeable leak. He said he would come back a few days later to take a look. He returned and tightened the connections. I again ran the water after he left, and again there was dripping under the drain so I asked him back again. He came back again and did some more tightening and said it should be ok now. I again ran the water after he left and there was still a drip. I then texted him saying that I would like a refund of $350 of the $1100 he charged because the pipes were still leaking and he had already claimed twice that the problem was fixed when it wasn't. He refused and then tried to gaslight me saying actually there was no leaking. So if you want a plumber who doesn't stand by his work, then this is the guy for you (My response to his comments): For the record, here is the text exchange between Brad and Me (and yes I did say "please consider giving me a refund because I don't want to give you bad reviews"--and that is a reasonable response on my part given that I received service that is below what the average person would expect [i.e. 3 visits by the plumber and the sink trap is still dripping]. (From Craig): Brad, The vanity is still leaking and I can't devote any more time to this project, therefore I am requesting a partial refund of the money you charged me. I think a $350 refund would be reasonable. Craig (From Brad): I disagree, the last 2 times I came over there wasn't even a leak. I have gone beyond being reasonable and in reality I should be paid for 2 service calls. (From Craig): Many would ask for a larger if not full refund under these circumstances. Obviously there was a very noticeable leak after the first visit and a much smaller but still noticeable leak after the next 2 visits. Please reconsider because I don't want to give you bad reviews

When your 2 folks were at her house diagnosing the problem, I spoke with them over the phone for a good 10 minutes. She told me afterwards she was so happy she had me to tell her to say "no thank you" because of the pressure and ridiculous prices your guys had put on her. They had an answer to everything (even to me) of why it is that expensive, like they have been through this exact practice, over and over and over. I don't really care for any more of your lip service, I will just never use your company again and tell my friends and family to avoid S and J Plumbing & Sewer 100% of the time. A cheap 40 gallon $650 water heater that takes 2-3 hours to put in should never be $3000. Shame shame trying to take advantage of the elderly on a fixed income.

Not only did Green Tech Plumbing check all these boxes, but they also offer fair pricing. A unicorn of a business. After being overcharged and underwhelmed by our previous plumber, I was on the hunt for a capable plumber to install a whole house water filtration system. From the moment I reached out to Green Tech Plumbing, they were nothing but responsive and helpful. I purchased the filtration system from a vendor, yet Kevin willingly answered all my questions (promptly!) about the system. He even pointed out that one of the options had expensive filters that would need to be changed frequently saving me hundreds of dollars in filters. What a gem! Kevin came out to look at how the system could be installed in our space and talked to me through how the system would work and answered all my questions. He then provided a fair quote. Once our system was delivered, I emailed to set up the installation. His team came out the following week for the installation. The tech Kevin sent was just as helpful! He moved the 100-pound tank from the garage to the basement, which wasn't part of their scope. The tech had to make a run to the hardware store to buy connection pieces that weren't included with system, but he knew exactly what to buy and did so in a timely manner. The install was speedy and flawless. The tech was even willing to stay while I called the vendor's water filtration system customer service expert to walk us through the start up process. On top of this great experience, I wrote a check for the incorrect amount and Kevin responded right away saying he would swing by and drop a check in our mailbox for the overpayment. Unreal! This is how you run a company!

THIS REVIEW IS 11 MONTHS IN THE MAKING. Last December we called Darren due to our drainage tile…read morepump burning out which is located in the same room as our sewage ejector pump. Darren came out and gave us an estimate to replace the pump. One of his employees came back and replaced the pump that was burned out and this is where the issue comes in. The person that was working on our pump unplugged the sewage ejector pump for some reason and left it unplugged after they were done. As we have used Darren in the past we fully trusted his company to do a great job and they have until this time. It was a week later were I was downstairs doing laundry and found that where was water coming up from the floor drain and it was all over the floor and leaking under the baseboards to the room next to the laundry room into the carpet and into our bathroom as well. I reached out to Darren and explained what was going on and he asked me if I could take pictures and text them to him....right there was a RED FLAG....a customer calls you and tells you there is a problem with work done as their house and instead of coming in person to see, he asked for pictures. So I take the pictures and send them to him and he responds that he will have to see if he wanted to go through his insurance and that it did not look like it would be more then his deductible, also get a quote for the damages. After sending him the quote I do not hear from him in a couple of weeks, then he responds that he had some health issues and that he was in the hospital, mind you this is in the beginning of January. I wait until the end of the month to follow up with him and he stated that he was just getting out of the hospital and he has a long road to recovery and to bear with him a little longer. I apologized to him and asked if there was someone in the office to take care of the matter and he never responded to me after that. In March I texted him again asking if he was doing well and were we stood on fixing the basement...he never responded and after several attempts trying to contacting him he finally responded in may stating that he is finally getting back to work and needs to catch up and to give him a week or so and he will get back to me. A week later I reached out to him again asking for an update and he stated that he was going to visit his daughter in Wisconsin and to follow up with him next week!!!! A week later I reached out again and asked how it was going and his response was slow! This is now the end of May so I waited until the middle of June to reach out to Darren and to my surprise he was back in the hospital. Its now the end of June and I reach out to him again asking for an update and told him this has been long enough please but the issue to bed. Darren does respond this time asking what my address was and he will mail me a check?!?!....Darren then doesn't remember the quote I sent him and had to resend him the quote again. After some banter back and forth he then stated that he's not sure who was to blame for the unplugging of the pump????? I was shocked to hear this from him! July 9th I followed up with him again and did not hear back from him. At this point I was ready to get a lawyer involved, so I let him know that and Immediately he responded back saying he had some cash on him and would drop it off at the house. It was not the full amount for the quote I sent him but I took what I could get. Darren did say that he would get me the rest of it as soon as he could. I texted Darren July 17th asking for the rest of the payment.....after reaching out several times I did not hear from Darren until October. This time he was not taking responsibility for his work and as a business owner. All I wanted to have him do is make the situation right and pay for the damages and he couldn't even do that. It is now November that still haven't herd from Darren about getting the rest of the money. I KNOW THIS WAS LONG BUT ITS BEEN A YEAR DEALING WITH THE LIES AND I WANTED TO BE AS DESCRIPTIVE AS POSSIBLE SO YOU DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID BY USING FLUSH PLUMBING. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND USE SOMEONE ELSE.

We had received a quote from another company that was extremely high, so, we decided to get a second quote from EGV Sewer. The staff is very nice, they had Armando come out the same day and provide a quote. When I tell it was significantly less, it was!!! EGV Sewer was even doing more work i.e. replacing the concrete sidewalk. Anyway, we had an issue last weekend as we were waiting for the work to be done. EGV Sewer again came out and quickly fixed our issue to give us piece of mind until the work was done. They came out on 7/8/26 and did the repair, we did have an surprise where we needed more work done; however, it was still overall 2k less than the other company. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this company. Great pricing, customer service, and quality work. Thank you Armando and team for fixing our issue. Also, shout out to Katie in the office, so pleasant, and always getting back to me promptly! I am certainly glad this is over but if we ever have any other plumbing issues, EGV Sewer will be my first call.

While they seem to offer "emergency services", the best they said they could do is book an appointment for me the next day. While waiting for the booking, they tried to upsell me for some sort of monthly service of some sort, I think for $29.99 a month. That should have been my warning to go elsewhere but I needed help and it was the weekend. Passed on the service but agreed to their "booking fee", warning number 2. They gave me no timeframe for when the technician would arrive so I asked if they could they try to get me in the morning if possible. I told them I don't mind how early. They said they would put a note in the system and would contact me in the morning. No call or text in the morning from them.,,,, Big surprise. So I call them to see where I was on the schedule around 8:30am. They told me that unfortunately all of their folks that day are out on emergency calls (wait, I thought I was an emergency booking from the prior day) and that unfortunately I won't get service until the afternoon. Ok, there goes pretty much all of father's day but I guess it isn't their fault this happened with unfortunate timing. Noon arrives I get a text message as a courtesy saying I was still on the schedule, and they would keep me informed. Ok, that is good news, maybe I am next or at least coming up on the list soon. Sometime a bit after 2pm I get a call, I am thinking awesome, they are probably informing me that they are on their way. But nope, I am now being told that they can't make it at all and basically letting me know I wasted the entire day waiting for nothing. But of course, they are happy to help me Monday. No, sorry J Blanton Plumbing, NEVER EVER will I use you. Perhaps you did be a favor because based on other reviews I just read here and elsewhere I now I know that you not only do not value your customers enough to treat them with common courtesy and try to upsell before you even provide services but also it appears you price gouge as well. Technician came out to review the lines, gave me a quote and acted as if he would not leave until he booked his service with me. He pushed me into a corner to the point I did not feel safe talking with their technician. I would not recommend doing service with them unless you feel the need to argue to get them off your lawn if you do not want to do service with them. They will even offer you financing as a part of one of their pushing points to get them to take the job.

I am blown away by my experience working with Josh, Jayme, and Becky. - Amazing communication from all three folks - Fantastic work performed by Becky - Super fair prices and total transparency into what I paid for I reached out to Fixer and 5 other companies via Yelp with an overview of the work I was looking to have completed in my home. Josh replied promptly with a rough estimate for each item I had listed and asked clarifying questions where necessary. This was above and beyond what the 5 other companies had responded with, so it was a no-brainer for me to begin working with Fixer. For this round of work, I had asked them to realign my front door and to repair the auto-close functionality. Jayme contacted me the next day to schedule an appointment and gave me a detailed run-down of how they charge for labor, parts, and shopping trips. She helped me nail down which type of auto-close parts I would need them to shop for (including photos - very helpful) so I could make an informed decision. Becky arrived right on time and came in with a huge smile, ready to get to work. She was extremely thorough in examining the problem from all angles to determine the best approach. She was honest and upfront about what work needed to be done: she would tighten up the hinges as a short-term solution, but the door & door frame were in bad enough shape that there was only so much she could do before replacing the door altogether. This wasn't a surprise to me - a previous owner of my condo went through foreclosure and the door was rammed open. Because she was so honest about what work should be done, it was clear to me that it wasn't worth having her install the auto-close mechanism for now. This was a time and money saver for me - something that I truly value when working with repair/handy companies. Becky also noticed that my door has auto-close hinges that weren't working properly, so she was able to repair that functionality - something I didn't even know was an option! After tightening up the door & repairing the hinges, Becky gave me a detailed run-down of the work she had done and next steps when I am ready to replace the door/door frame. She also took measurements for upcoming work so she - or another Fixer - can come in prepared and get right to work. The more I learn about Fixer as a company, the happier I am to have found them. It's clear to me that they genuinely care about their employees, compensate them fairly, provide ample training and learning opportunities, and are excited to work with their clients. We've used fixer twice now and had great experiences both times. First we had Eddie who came to look at the front door of our rental property which had severe weather damage. He took stock of the damage, talked us through the best option, ran to Home Depot and had everything wrapped up within an hour. He even took a look at a faulty cabinet hinge we had in our kitchen and gave us advice on next steps to get it replaced (we needed to contact the manufacturer for that). The second time we had Nikki who installed 5 new sconces in our hallway. She was very nice and efficient and did a great job getting the old sconces down and the new ones up. She even brought her own ladder which we didn't need, but we appreciated. We had a few items we wanted advice on how to fix or just how broken it actually was and she took a look at both (a bum electric outlet and a broken light switch) and took pictures and notes for the next fixer who will assist on the projects. Overall they make it very easy to set up an appointment and they text you leading up to the visit to ensure they have the enough time budgeted for the job. I've used Fixer 3 times and enjoyed the people that came to my home. Unfortunately, the work done wasn't done properly. The first time, I had bookshelves mounted on my office wall. Though they arrived 45 minutes late, the work was done quickly and looked great. When I added a few lightweight items I was very pleased, however, sometime during the night the shelves came out of the wall and crashed onto my desk/computer monitor. I had to replace the monitor at a cost of $799. I reached out to their customer service and another technician came and re-hung the shelves, ensuring they were fine this time. One week later the shelves fell again, and this time I asked to speak to a supervisor. Later that day I received a call from Jaimie - the manager - and, not only was she very rude and defensive, but she told me that the damage created from the shelves falling (my computer monitor, 2 photo frames, and 2 Lladro figurines) wasn't Fixer's responsibility. She went on to say she would send someone back out, but not until a week later. I will never use Fixer again.. I was unable to speak with anyone else in management, as it's impossible to get through to their company. read more

I've been in the property management business for over 25 years. I've dealt with everything from shady, non-licensed hired guns to run of the mill contractors that will have insurance, licenses, etc., but will change their price in the middle of a job. At the end of the day, there's always something nasty about working with contractors and you end up shrugging your shoulders anesthetize yourself by boring other people with your sob stories. Fixer.com is a completely different story! No job is too small for them to get done in a snap. I don't know how they do it. The guy behind this outfit is a genius. They have a future. I own properties in Houston and wish they would expand their services there so I can live the rest of my days in Borneo while receiving rent electronically. Had 2 fixer sessions, Jayme laminated the dining table and John F perform electrician work on switches. Both of them were punctual, very kind, helpful/educational, and competent on the job. Fixer charged for the exact minutes performed and never rounded to the nearest hour. They don't charge for the time of transportation as well. If anything, they charged less minutes than they actually should! The fixers come prepared with the knowledge of the problem prior to showing up. They start the clock when they literally dived into the problem, not when they step inside the house. The availability is amazing, so many open hours and booked all online and communicated the details via text. I tossed all of my handyman business cards away as those are overly expensive for the same quality. I'd definitely recommend both fixers and the company as well. read more

Used Fixer back in August to install bay window curtain rods and to shorten the cord on a pendant light fixture and to install it. I couldn't be happier - I'm pregnant and can't get on ladders, but I'm used to learning how to do stuff myself and getting it done. Now I know it's totally fine (and good!) to hire people you trust to get the work done for you sometimes, and that's exactly why I loved Fixer and can't wait to use them again. My complicated curtain rods were up in no time, and the pendant light was even faster, and it was a great experience all around. Fixer is new in Dallas. I'm glad I found them. Their website and communications system is excellent. No phone calls! On their site I was able to clearly explain my problem areas with photos and text and set an appointment time. I got an email confirmation and a quote and the name and photo of the fixer assigned very quickly and follow -up reminder via texts-- not too many. There was opportunity to add additional projects along the way. Chang was prompt, professional, and proposed a better, more cost effective and more practical solution to my primary problem. Needed help installing an apron sink in my kitchen to replace my old one. I just signed up online and got a text saying a Fixer would be on their way in an hour. My Fixer, Dana, arrived and was quite friendly, quick to get on the project and very professional. I signed up again to get some electrical outlets installed and once again, Fixer was on time, super professional and completed the job in just under an hour. Was really happy with the level of service and the fact that I could get someone the next day - super easy to schedule. If I'd called a regular electrician I would have still been playing phone tag. Fixer.com is an impressive organization! Both Kat and Linda were extremely neat, careful, capable and so nice! They hung a curtain rod and curtains on a very large window for us and while I thought the task would be daunting, they were confident it could be done ...and within 2 hours the job was completed and looked great. The owner call me back about the project that I was inquiring about and got back with me with a project specialist. He came out and did a walk through of what I wanted took pictures along with the ones I had text to them and came back on Friday 5-3-19 and completed my project in a timely manner. My Fixers Katie and Gwen arrived early and were full of energy and enthusiasm. They helped me prioritize the projects, jumped right in, worked super efficiently, and were very attentive to detail. I was thrilled with their work (installed two chandeliers, touched up two windowsills, repaired two closet doors, and caulked a shower and two vanities). Reliable, efficient, clean, friendly, punctual, personable, eager to please. Fixer is my go to place when something goes awry in my household. They recently repaired my garbage disposal in 15 minutes and then the rest of the hour did a few extra things that needed to be done, including installing a lock on our back gate in the bitter cold. Am immensely grateful for that! Their prices have gone up a lot since they first opened... a lot! But if they are paying their workers well, then it is worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

I'm not a fan. I tried Fixer out, they very poorly repaired a few of the items. I then proceeded to communicate with the corporate office about all of the issues. Jayme (customer service manager) responded either the same day or next and she said she would circle back and be sure to solve it. That was at least 10 days ago after multiple emails from me. Highly not recommended. ps: very expensive; you're paying $100/hour for everything, including basic stuff that you should be paying about $30 (i.e. caulking). read more

Great service if you need help around the house but want the knowledge and expertise of professionals! I needed closet shelving put up and it needed to support a good amount of weight, and D'Angelo did such a good job! He was quick and everything looks perfect, thank you! I texted the Fixer number on Sat afternoon requesting some electrical work asap and received a super quick response confirming that an electrician was already scheduled for 9am that Mon. Great company but phenomenal workers. Had a difficult project (in my opinion) assigned to Jen--replace/install kitchen sink, garbage disposal and work around previous wrong installation's prior to her visit. Jen was able to correct everything and most importantly, give assurance in the end that it was the right decision to pick Fixer. We had a Fixer come out to work on a few projects. The process to schedule was easy and the Fixer (Ramiro) was right on time. He fixed some trim which required some tough cuts, fixed a few drywall spots and a crack near a door. He was efficient and the work was flawless. After getting no answer from calls to our regular plumber and a no-show from another plumber, we found Fixer and were delighted to get a service that came when promised, came right on time, worked briskly, and did the job well (replaced faulty faucet cartridge with part from Faucet Shoppe and installed a new sprayer that I supplied).
