They arrived promptly at 10am, and brought all the materials needed to help pack up my apartment thoroughly and safely, including hand carts, plastic wrap, and moving blankets. After arriving at my new home they paid careful attention to where I wanted my items placed, and even put down rugs in my living room and office before the heavy furniture was assembled. They are communicative, careful, kind, and incredibly professional. They even mailed me an item I left behind in their moving truck! I contacted Flagship to provide a quote for my upcoming move. Their price was very competitive - so the job went to them, finalizing the "out-the-door" price ( less tips...) via email. I was moving to Sacramento so was really wanting an early start, the earliest they could get to Novato was 10:00. If I wanted to pay an additional ~$200, they could be there an hour earlier.. after they picked up the lease truck. They showed up and got to work right away, the first stack of 3 totes was placed on a moving dolly which promptly tipped over and spilled the contents in the street. I suggested they use my handcart going forward, which they did. The crew was excellent, worked diligently through the day, no complaints. The issue came at the end of the very long and stressful day. The final bill I was presented with ( hand scrawled on a generic "Job Order" form) was way off the agreed price. Items that were quoted in email as being included were charged, additional costs for extra labor hours (an hourly rate was never mentioned, discussed, or agreed to).Similarly there was a charge for trucking. Trucking was casually mentioned, but with no approximation of costs. I called the owner to seek some resolution, but he became very defensive, and actually lied about what was agreed to.The exchange quickly devolved into a argument which ended up with the owner hanging up on me. To me this whole episode is a classic case of "bait and switch", low bid to get the work - extraa charges to follow. If you are happy with that, then on your own head be it, you have been warned. read more

Greg and team were AMAZING! I wasn't *quite* prepared to move and they efficiently and quickly took care of the things I hadn't packed up. I've never seen better movers. They were incredibly respectful, kind and polite. They set to work wrapping the awkward things in plastic and they were open to suggestions and my own inability to pack correctly. After everything was moved into the new place, they set to work putting things in the right spot and unwrapping the plastic. They even supplied the little felt circles that go on the bottoms of furniture so my new floors wouldn't be scratched. A couple of weeks before my move, Greg offered to come by to give me an estimate. His prices were excellent. He also offered suggestions about packing and supplies. LOOK NO FURTHER if you are looking for the best move experience ever!!!! Flagship Movers are by far the most professional, respectful and personalized experience I have ever had!! Greg although appeared too calm and composed when doing the first walk through, brought his decades of experience and just computed everything in his head and said "yep we can do this". He was so calm we wondered why he wasn't more talkative. FEAR NOT!! He had it all worked out in his head!! Dialed in A to Z!!! Experience matters! His added 4 person team also knew everything nuts to bolts and had so much experience. We also had them pack for us and they ended up packing 80% of our 4 bedroom home and packed garage within 2 days and to the most care, detail-oriented, organized thoughtfulness. Greg even managed my own questions and stress by listening patiently and being reassuring with every concern. On the receiving end when we arrived at our new location, they didn't just unload they asked our plan, offered to relocate boxes if necessary, move furniture from one room to the other if it didn't feel right. Flagship is not just moving boxes from one location to another- they are a customized personal experience with great attitudes, knowledge and recommendations that come from 30+ years of experience!! BEWARE!! This company has such great YELP reviews and why I originally reached out (I wonder if they are 'true' reviews?), but this was the worst moving experience I've ever had. I've moved a lot in the last 15 years (past travel nurse), so I have experience and a good understanding of how it all works. I looked up the business license on Better Business Bureau to make a complaint and they said the license was invalid. (Gregs response to my review below and his behavior explains it all-I must have really gotten to him, as he keeps editing and adding lies). I hardly ever write a bad yelp review unless it was really terrible service and in this case it was not only terrible service, but I didn't feel safe. I actually called the police after a really scary voicemail that Greg left me where he threatened me "that he'd come find me". Here's the story, I'll try to make it short, but it's a bit long to explain everything that happened (I still have PTSD about this move): I was moving out of state, so I needed Greg and his movers to move my 1 bar apt. to a storage pod from Millvalley to Oakland. It seemed like a pretty easy move to me. I had a small one bedroom apartment (granted I had a long flight of stairs going down to my place, which is not so easy). However, They didn't have to move my things very far, and it was to a storage pod. Greg and the other mover with him were super friendly when they arrived, and they helped me figure out what I needed to pack for a storage pod/truck. At first, I was so happy, because I thought great, this is going to be a really easy move. Well, I was first nervous when I saw the loaded moving truck and that they had wrapped my sturdy metal barstool with a blanket and tons of plastic wrapping, but nothing around my expensive mountain bike or my delicate wood bookcases?? I explicitly told them to pack things well since my things were traveling so far. However, they seemed trustworthy and knowledge, so I trusted them. Things went really bad when I got a call from Greg on his way to the storage pod (I wasn't able to go with them because I had to head to work in SF, then pick up someone at the airport. I trusted that Greg and his mover would get my things to the pod and that they would be honest, so I gave him a blank check to fill in the total amount when the move was completed). Big mistake on my part! When Greg called, he still had not made it to Oakland, this was 2 hrs after he left my place. He claimed there was traffic, but when I looked on my Google map it said 40 minutes currently from Millvalley to Oakland. I'm pretty sure they stopped or took their time, but kept charging me on the clock. Then Greg claimed that the place was not ready to open the storage pod/truck and that it took them an hour just to open it. Overall by the time he completed my job, Greg wanted to charge me 9 hours for the moving job. 9 hrs! I was shocked. It's never taken a mover more than 5 hrs to move my things (even in more complicated moves). It was 7:30pm or so by the time they finished the job, I said I would call them in the morning to settle the final payment because I didn't agree with the time it took them to complete the job. I didn't trust them at this point so I put a stop payment on the check. As, I told Greg, I had planned to call them in the morning to settle the payment. I couldn't answer Greg's calls right away when he called at 9am because I was on my way to the airport. He also sent me 3 long, and threatening texts. I Sent him a text that I didn't have time to speak right now, but I would call him in 30 minutes. I also said that I would pay him, but that we needed to talk first about why it took them an unwarranted amount of time to move . Again, He proceeded to leave me threatening texts and kept calling me. He was not the nice guy I met yesterday. I spoke to Greg that morning, and I sent him a PayPal payment for a 7 hour move, which was more than fair on my end. I just wanted to settle things at this point. When I finally had time to listen to Greg's voicemails, which were 3 in total, they were unnerving ). He threatened me and said he was going to "follow me" until I paid him and that he was going to "call the police" and "sue the hell outta me". I mean, he was screaming on the other end. The most scary thing was the tone in his voice, it literally gave me chills when I heard it. The other worst part about this move, was when my things arrived in Oregon much of my things were damaged because it was not placed or covered properly in moving pod. My dining room table had no padding on it, was on the floor, and so it was all scratched up, as well as the bookshelves. Heavy boxes were placed on top of light boxes and some of them were completely shredded. I had movers in Oregon help me unload the storage pod to my new house and they asked me who had moved my things originally? "This was the worst moving job they had ever seen" he told me. read more

I hired Flagship Moovers to move, a purchase of an estate, from San Francisco to the Sierra Foothills. The items to be moved included funiture , china and various household items. Everything was carefully packed and delivered without any damage and within the agreed upon time. Greg and his two helpers were a pleasure to work with, wich is becoming less common in these times. Incredible movers! I reached out to Flagship on relatively short notice to help pack up my apartment and deliver it to my cross-country moving service for my move from San Francisco to Chicago. It was a seamless process end-to-end. They provided a transparent quote, were highly communicative via text message, and helped me select a cross-country moving service that was under my budget. On the day of the move, they arrived right on time with a moving truck and supplies and quickly got to work wrapping my items with moving blankets and plastic wrap. Two movers worked for us for three hours. We explicitly asked them not to scratch our new floors, but they scratched them in several places. One of them complained the whole time about how much work there was to do. After completion of the work I requested receipt. It's now 72 hours after and I still have not received any receipt of payment. They also required payment in cash which is strange. They charge $170 per hour, but we found out that they pay the laborers only $30 per hour. I do not recommend this company. read more

We used Flagship Movers for a Mill Valley to San Anselmo move last week. Greg and his assistant arrived on time, were very friendly and very helpful. They got the big truck loaded up, never stopping for a break and never loosing the spring in their step! After arriving in SA they unloaded all, and managed a dicey and VERY difficult transfer of a large dresser into the house, through a window, mind you! It was a long day for them, with a lot of heavy lifting. The fee was more than reasonable so along with a good tip I rounded up to the nearest hundred. All in all a great experience. Due to logistics of government reimbursement for my move I wasn't able to use Greg's services in the end. That being said, Greg was incredibly professional and helpful from the moment I contacted him. He promptly came to my house to look over my inventory/give me a quote and was extremely responsive to every question/request. This was my first time using a moving service and I couldn't be more glad that I did. Greg and his team did an excellent job packing up our apartment while letting us save a few things for the next day which was very helpful, loaded the truck in a couple hours, and was offloading just 2 days later. In my opinion, by doing only one move job at a time Flagship Movers set themselves above the competition! They are very experienced and have a great system in place for packing, loading, travel, and offloading which shows. I was able to communicate directly with Greg the entire time, who was on the truck with our stuff, and he kept us informed on the arrival time as the approached. The price was great. Of the many sage pieces of advice my dad has doled out to me over the years, one in particular has always stuck with me, mainly because I thought it was hilarious. "There are three things in life you shouldn't skimp on: Tattoo artists, movers, and a good divorce lawyer. Any of those suck and you wind up spending twice as much to fix it." While don't know about that last one as well as my dad does ha, I learned pretty damn quick after my first post-college relocation that the moving advice was right on the money. My fiancé and I moved from Santa Barbara to Los Angles shortly after the summer of our college graduation from UCSB. One poorly packed truck, two broken mirrors, and three screaming fights later my fiancé and I were in our new place and swore off moving ourselves ever again. I think we lost half our damage deposit just trying to get all the stuff in our new place from the get go. When I got offered a new job two years later, and it came time to move up to San Francisco, I whipped out my yelp app for movers so fast I'm pretty sure I scared the dog. I worked for a moving company briefly in college to help pay the bills (ok beer money), and remember the experience pretty fondly. So I figured that looking for a mover wouldn't be half bad just a few years later. Good lord was I wrong. While the new job paid better than the last, I'm not exactly swimming in programmer money. I must have talked to at least three companies that either quoted me the equivalent of a full paycheck (not including tip), or wouldn't give me the time of day. Apparently moving two people was worth the effort for them. A buddy of mine in Seattle finally wound up recommending Greg and his Flagship crew to me after he and his kids made the move up north from San Diego to Seattle. I figured that since they were set up for such high stakes gigs (my buddy DOES have programmer bucks, and all the toys to match) that Greg's team either wouldn't want to spend the time, or would be out of my price range. I couldn't have been more surprised. While the team looked a little rag tag at first (I thought they looked pretty young, but hey, I forget I'm getting older), Greg was crazy friendly, professional, and prompt. We had a super straightforward and comfortable conversation about logistics, pricing, and ways that I could save a few bucks on incidentals like making sure we were well packed and labeled before moving day. Apparently they do that too, but hey, we wanted to save were we could. The crew was quick, careful, and super friendly, something I definitely didn't ever remember from my previous moving experience, and the LA to SF move went off without a hitch. In fact, it actually came in slightly under budget, something I find myself saying about zero times a year about anything. I even had enough left over to thrown in a little extra tip, something that nearly gave my fiancé a heart attack after going on so many dates with my cheap ass. Needless to say, I was deeply impressed with these guys. Greg and his team knew what they were doing, showed up on time, and did what they said they were going to do. I know that may sound silly, but I'm finding more and more that it's a rare find these days to find someone who will follow through on those simple tenants. Just wanted to say I contacted Greg's moving service to deliver a sofa to us that we were purchasing in Union City. He offered to go out of his way (over an hour south) to pick it up and transport it to our location 5 hours north at an excellent price as he was coming north with a delivery. When attempting to have an email conversation with Greg about the pros and cons of local vs. SF movers, the topic of Delancey Street Movers came up. Greg referred to them as "ex-cons!", in a way that could only be construed as a disparaging. Not a fan of scare tactics like this. Delancey has my vote this time after all. Better to go a bit farther away than with someone local who trashes the competition. Edit: Greg has changed his comment yet again, so I guess I'll do this one more time. This edit has always been in response to his comment below, so as he updates his, mine begins to appear out of context. I tried to engage him in an honest email conversation about cost because his bid (# of guys, time and materials, plus mileage, gas, etc) on my job, having never viewed my home, felt pretty high. I said thanks for the bid, but I'd like to shop around for a few more bids, possibly from Delancey who did my last move. I never once tried to get him to lower his price. I also never commented once on his moving staff and find it disturbing that he lies about this below. That really is an outright lie, which I now expect he'll delete. Greg offered the "fyi they're ex cons!" bit about Delancey Street, which was the genesis of this review, with no prompting from me. I think everyone who has heard of that company knows this fact since it is their entire business model.
