Very disappointing experience. The way this business chose to handle a situation was extremely unprofessional and left someone feeling embarrassed rather than respected. There are ways to address concerns privately and respectfully, and unfortunately, that was not the approach taken here. Beyond that, the overall customer service left a lot to be desired. The communication, professionalism, and way customers are treated could use some serious improvement. A business should make people feel valued and respected, not uncomfortable or singled out. Took my 2012 Subaru Legacy here, was getting a value body replacement on my transmission. Was ready within two days. The replacement worked for a month before, I went to another transmission place and they told me that the transmission was fully going out. I wish these people told me sooner, especially since they took apart my transmission in the first place. They just wasted my money and my time. if you want a quality and through inspection go to Ascot Automotive specialists here in flag. Not really professional either, I called to schedule an appointment originally, with a woman on the phone and she didn't even take it down. Sadly our transmission gave out on us as we were driving up from kingman. Managed to limp our truck over to their shop the next morning. We were greeted with positivity and assurance on getting the truck fixed. The owners did not take responsibilty, blamed it on an employee and made my sister deal with the employee's insurance rather than making it right themselves. They had the gall to tell her to take it elsewhere for transmission repair after damaging vehicle so nad that it jad to be totalled. Did not report to Flagstaff PD or to their own insurance. Last night we noticed our van was making a weird noise while on our mini gateway to the Grand Canyon. My husband was able to find this place and thankfully they were open the next day Sunday. I made an appointment for this afternoon to have my transmission evaluated because it is "sticky" and not shifting well between gears, especially when I am driving up hill at high speed. I have never been to this shop before, but I chose it based on their good reviews. I left my truck with them and walked to get lunch. When I went back to the shop to check on the progress, I decided to wait in the lobby. While I was waiting, the front desk staff person (her name is Sage) proceeded to berate another employee for not getting lunch for her. She was REALLY nasty with him and I thought it was rude. But aside from that, it made me really uncomfortable (I am a retail store manager, and I know how customers should be treated). I said to Sage, "you're being rude and and you shouldn't do that in front of customers." She didn't say anything else to me. She just picked up her cell phone and started talking to somebody. About ten minutes later the guy who checked me in (I believe he must be the shop manager) came to the lobby and told me that my back rotors need replaced, and that I had a bad wheel bearing. I tried to explain that I don't know anything about vehicle repairs (which is why I was there), and that I literally had just come from a brake shop, where they had replaced my front rotors, but did nothing to the back ones. They had told me the back rotors were fine and didn't need any work done to them. So here I am at this transmission shop trying to figure out how bad rotors have anything to do with my transmission not shifting smoothly. I said, "but what about my transmission?" He goes, "it's fine. But you just yelled at my wife (and he pointed to Sage), now get out of my shop!" And he pointed to the door. "I'm not charging you anything, just get the f&@k out of here," he said. So I left. Without any diagnostic paperwork, or any indication of what I had done wrong, other than point out that his staff was incredibly rude. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Save yourself the trouble. Do not patronize this establishment. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this shop!!! I went up to flagstaff for the day and had some trouble with my truck. They were quick, efficient, and all for a fair price. The shop owner, Mike, did the work himself and saved the part he replaced so he could show me and explain to me what was wrong with the vehicle. His wife, Sage, was great and even drove us to the movie theater so we didn't have to sit at the shop and wait. Great people running a great local business!!! read more

We had a GREAT experience with John Rogers' Trans-Mission Man! The Toyota dealership estimated that the replacement of the front universal joint was $400 for our Tacoma. Our actual cost was $40 for labor and $20 for the part. We picked up the part and brought it to the shop. We were impressed with the friendly attitude and honest helpful comments expressed by Sage, Steven, Michael and Justin. It took very little time to replace and we were thrilled with the peace of mind of knowing the truck was safe to drive. We saved $340 by going to John Rogers' Trans-Mission Man! I took my car in because it was acting a little funny the way it was shifting. After two days of not working on it and not calling me to tell me what was going on, I called them to tell them that I was going on vacation for a week and half. I told them that they could do a transmission service if necessary. I also dropped off a new O2 sensor that I had ordered and received after I dropped the car off. I told them they could install it if they needed to in order to diagnose the transmission. I went on vacation. I didn't hear anything back from them. I got back late, went to meetings all day and called them to see what was going on with my car. This was 2 weeks after dropping my car off. They transferred me to the mechanic(the person answering didn't want to tell me) who told me that they had smashed my car but that they were going to fix it. I couldn't believe that they hadn't called me to let me know this, or that they were "fixing" my car without notifying me first. The next day my wife and I went in to see what was going on. Our car was smashed pretty good. There was a fair amount of body damage as well as damage to the fans and coolers. They had the front end of the car removed with parts all over the ground and had started to replace the fans, radiator and coolers before doing the body work. As you can imagine I wasn't very happy that they hadn't notified me and started to do repair work on my car outside of transmission work. I think that considering the situation, I kept my cool a lot more than most people would have. Their story about this all seemed fishy and it looked like they were just trying to cover it up without me finding out. We waited for the owners(Sage and Michael Faul) to come in. They came in and were very confrontational about the whole thing. They didn't introduce themselves as the owners or say that they would take care of it. I don't think that they even apologized for it. It wasn't their fault since their employee did it. They blamed us that we were going to ruin the mechanic's (18 year old who hit my car) life. I wasn't happy that they started to fix my car before getting an estimate and they were upset that this poor kid spent his own money to buy new parts for my car that I didn't approve of. As it turned out the mechanics dad's insurance did cover it and the insurance company ended up totaling the car. This was after giving me the runaround because the story given to the insurance company didn't match what they had told me. Michael said that it was his executive decision to not call me and to start repairs on my car. They also told me that they replaced my O2 sensor cleared some codes and that there was nothing wrong with my transmission. I have no idea if they really even evaluated my transmission or did anything to it. Accidents happen and I'm not upset about that. I'm very upset about the way they handled this situation. Sage told us that if we got the car fixed (this was before it was totaled) to not bring it back to them to work on the transmission. They are not good people and I will not be doing business with them or recommending others do business with them. They also own Flagstaff Mobile Mechanic and Northern Arizona Towing Services LLC. John and his staff are extremely honest, friendly and accommodating. Best of all, they are fantastic at what they do: fix cars! I had an issue with my car, where it sounded like a small airplane, for over a year. Word-of-mouth led me to John's shop and they were able to diagnose the issue and fix it quickly and for an affordable rate. I was so pleased with the service that I had them replace my brakes for me several weeks later. John himself drove around town for a bit in my car to make sure that everything was working as it should be. Great work and service provided with honesty and compassion at a fair rate. As a bonus, the waiting area of the shop is the most awesomely quirky place you could be. It's almost like the house in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
