My husband recently had to take his Camaro for an issue he couldn't fix himself. Heaths was Abel to get the mechanical issue resolved the same day, and for a fair price. The folks in the office area are always so curious and easy to talk to, and the mechanics really know their stuff. When I first moved to Flagstaff, this was the first place that I went to for my car's care. After a couple of years, I decided to switch mechanics. It became an inconvenience to bring my car here for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that every time I made an appointment in the early morning for an oil change, I didn't get my car back until the end of the day. It's very inconvenient because I work with a courier company that calls me at random times to deliver supplies and it's not something that I can afford to miss. They don't seem to stick with their appointments, which is frustrating. If changing the oil in my car was allowed where I live, I'd just do it myself. The second reason is that I question whether or not they have been honest with me about the repairs on my car. They have replaced a few things in my car over the time I was seeing them. I trusted them with what they told me and I thought that I was doing what was best for my car, until they told me about a couple of other parts that "need to be replaced soon, due to leaking oil". I started seeing someone else for the oil changes and I asked them to check out the leaks during those changes. Two mechanics from two different shops told me that they didn't find any leaks. That also wasn't the first time I got an opinion from another place just to find out that what I was originally told wasn't true. I switched mechanics after that. I put many miles on my car each month, so it has to see a mechanic more often than others for maintenance. I need to be sure that I can trust the person that works on my car. Being a courier is expensive enough. read more

My cars are old, really old! I have a 95 Honda del Sol and a 2000 Honda CRV! Both of these cars are still on the road and running great, with great care by Heaths. In December, I decided to drive back to Iowa for the holidays, and take my giant dog, Enzo! Flying was not an option! I went to Heaths with the CRV and let them know my plans and asked that they make the CRV as safe as possible for the long trip. Needless to say, went and came with no problems! Tried to charge me $270 to replace a spark plug wire. If you've never done this- it's an $8 part that plugs in as easy as any household outlet. I'm sure they assumed I didn't know this. I changed it in less than 10 minutes in the parking lot. Oh- not to mention they also tried to upsell me for an additional $400 "tune up" "while they were in there". Literally tried to get almost $700 out of me on something that ended up costing me less than $8 and 10 minutes. This is after I have spent hundreds of dollars and referred multiple here. I won't even go into how they tried to get me to spend $700 replacing a fuel pump- until I reminded them they had just done this a few months ago and it was still under warranty. Then the problem magically disappeared. Disappointed- had been a customer for a while. Sucks to learn they're trying to rip you off. read more

Scheduled an appointment online and got a response saying i had been put on the schedule for today Monday the 5th. Had my mom drop off my car and Jeff told her they didn't have me on the schedule but they would"try" to get me in today that's not a gurantee. So I called because this is the only day I could do an oil change hence why I booked the appointment online. Jeffery, or Jeff, hung up on me supposedly one Jeff told me that two "Jeff's"work there and that the reason the first one hung up on me while I was still talking was because he couldn't hear me. I called once before this talked to a nice lady, she could hear me just fine and even ended the call with have a good day. He didn't even give me a chance to readjust my phone. He said he was on speaker when he wasn't. He literally said"take me off speaker and call back and hung up"one rude guy up front from the last time I came here for an oil change. Pretty sure it's the same guy, no greeting when you walk thru the doors and they're just as unwelcoming in person as they're on phone. Was trying to tell jeff I had an appointment and he said well who is this. Told him my name then he said did you even get a response back?meaning from the booking online. I said yes, I told him jeffery ford replied to my email. Then he said don't have you down at all. I tried to tell him my situation and he didn't care about my email, just that they would maybe get to it or not who knows. This was my second time coming here, the first time was like this encounter, rude. I was willing to give this place another chance from my first encounter but this time was worse. Will not be recommending y'all again. Unprofessional, rude and don't care if you made an appointment online. A sorry would've been nice, but I told them no to work on my car and that I would have someone pick it up for me. Being nice and apologizing goes a long way, being accused of being dumb like I didn't get an email for appointment verification is not the way to go. Please take our word on this upstanding business! We were moving across the the country from Nevada to Kentucky to meet up with my elderly husband who was taking a plane to Kentucky. We broke down 9 miles outside of Flagstaff and had to be towed in. Jeffery politely listened and got us in to be diagnosed right away that afternoon. Jeffery called us in two hours, got parts ordered, delivered, installed, refitting a bolt also. Honestly, telling us it was not so bad, less than $100 and we could be on our way the next morning after they did a test drive. We are so thankful for Heath and Jeffery! I took my truck in Heath's because I trusted their credentials. They told me that my radiator was damaged and it needed to be replaced. Jeff, at the front desk made a big deal about there being a "silver dollar sized leak one the pavement under the truck." Since I trusted them, I had them replace the whole radiator and hoses for over $900. When I got home, my vehicle was still leaking a fluid. Upon further inspection, I found my windshield wiper fluid reservoir leaking and running down onto the concrete. Could that have been the leak that they spotted and told me that it was my radiator? I guess there is no way to tell for sure, they have my old radiator. However, one has to wonder about the and necessity of the work performed. read more

Can't believe Heath's was voted best in Flagstaff. Brought my vehicle in for preventative maintenance (transmission fluid exchange). They assured me that tranny took the proper amount of trans fluid... BS. During my first drive on the interstate after picking up my truck the transmission wouldn't shift into overdrive. Brought it back to Heath's and they rest drove it without my for "insurance reasons." For some reason they always unplugged my dash cam when working on my truck or test driving it (red flag, maybe?). Mechanic reported that the truck is running at 4500 RPM at highway speeds as it's supposed to. That's interesting considering it should be running at less than 2200 RPM at 70mph. They put it on a lift and verified that it was LOW on trans fluid. They basically lied about the fluid level after completing the job. They said they filled it and it was good as new. I continued to have issues. Keep in mind that I brought my truck in for preventative maintenance. Tranny ran perfect before bringing it in. This saga continued at Heath's until I verified at a professional transmission repair shop that my trans was damaged. Had to pay big bucks for repairs. On top of the tranny issue they took it upon themselves to wash my truck without asking. The guy that did the washing butchered my paint. Scratches everywhere. Looked like he used Brillo. There's tons of issues at this garage. They refuse to honor they're coupons if you provide parts. Doesn't say anywhere on the coupon or website that coupons can't be used that reason. The mechanics are inept and dishonest. Heath, the owner, doesn't care. He stood the counter and heard about me talk about the issues I was having and did nothing but eat. Even the car wash guy/shuttle driver failed at half his purpose there. I can understand a mistake but lying about it is a problem for me. I do not suggest bringing your vehicle to Heath's for any reason. My reply to your comment: Three appointments missed? Really? Another lie. I have the text. I canceled one appointment because I don't trust your mechanics for good reason. You don't even know the proper RPM's for a Toyota 6 cylinder. The whole point of preventative maintenance is to keep my truck running right so I don't have issues. You have caused a major issue. I'm not bringing my truck anywhere near Heath's. My transmission is being taken care of by a capable mechanic. read more

Waste of money! I have gone here to get regular maintenance and other issues on my car fixed over the past years being in flagstaff going to college. I have previously recommended friends and coworkers to go here multiple, things have changed in management obviously because this was the worst experience I have had here and the prices have increased drastically. I don't recommend going here anymore and I am highly disappointed, will not be going again. I went in yesterday to get two of my doors fixed (locking mechanism going out) and the other resealed. I called about both situations prior to even bringing the car in they told me ball park 130 per door. Dropping off my car I retell what I need to get fixed as usual and they tell me it'd be 700 to reseal the one so ok that can wait. Then they tell me 130 for the one door locking mechanism on other door ok awesome, get a call 4 hours later actually to get the door fixed it'll be 750 dollars and the part will be here in a week, um what? absolutely not! So 130 dollars was for them to take apart my door and put it back together (I told them what I wanted fixed prior to bringing it in). I guess my fluids were checked and car washed but talk about a waste of money. To give some extra context I paid 700 dollars here a few years ago to get my transmission fixed but its more expensive to get one door fixed? That doesn't make sense. You can find a simple google search to get this piece fixed is normally between 340-370 for my type of car. read more

Recently I had shaking on my drivers side front wheel while coming to a stop. Couldnt get a hold of my mechanic and needed the work done so i went with heaths. First they gave me a $2000 estimate, i told them bypass a few items which brought me to $1300. The work was to be done within 2 days. The following day i called to receive a update and was told they would be done with the truck within a couple hours. They then called and told me my master cylinder (brakes) failed and i would not be able to drive out(i drove in it was fine), and asked in a demanding way for another $1000. Long story short, i told them to fix my truck the way it was or that i would pay them off and have my truck towed elsewhere. They then called backed within a hour and told me all was fine. The next day after picking my truck up i hopped out of my truck and noticed a new scratch and dent. I thought about and decided not to place a complaint. A few days ago i went to wash my truck and noticed my hub cap was now missing(new wheels)! And im here. Mechanics are supposed to be trusted professionals, i would never send anyone i know to heaths auto. read more

I took my car in to get a window fixed - did a good job which is why I returned here for my broken A/C. I paid $350 for them to "fix it". I took a road trip the next day and by the time I got to where I was going, my A/C had gone out again. I took it back to them so hopefully they could actually fix it at no charge since they clearly did not fix it the first time and they wanted another $600. Complete crap. The second time I took it back, there were 2 other people who came in stating that they were back because their "fixed part" of their car was broken again. My husband and I were pulling into Flagstaff after a long trip from Sacramento when our "check engine" light came on. Our car had started lurching while accelerating on the freeway for the past hour or so, and since this was only the second day of our vacation, we were worried that car trouble was going to be a real downer. Luckily, Triple A recommended Heath's Auto Service, and they saw us & ran some quick tests ASAP. Results showed we probably had spark plus & ignition coil issues, so Heath's referred us to a local rental car agency so that we wouldn't be stranded in Flagstaff without a car. We understood Heath's had other customers ahead of us, but they still had a full estimate report to give us within 24 hours. They did their best to be quick with repairs, and within 48 hours of bringing in our car, everything was fixed.
