Roasted pineapple

First time trying this place out and we are very impressed. Service was fantastic. The restaurant was quiet and the food was fantastic. The picanha, fillet, and garlic steak we all cooked and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend the roasted pineapple. We will be back.

I love this place. It's very conveniently located right off the loop. The food is amazing. They have a bar with rice, beans, empanadas, salads, sauces, ribs, roast pork, roast brisket, etc. Then at the meat bar they have stuff like filet mignon, lamb (the best, imo), bacon wrapped chicken, sausage, broiled brisket, etc. The service is friendly. The owner even came to our table to see what foods we liked best so they can make adjustments since they're a relatively new restaurant. It isn't too fancy, but very clean. And they did do some renovation since it was the Mexican restaurant. It's very casual, but it would probably still be a great place for a date night. I really hope this place sticks around. I plan on dropping in regularly. Don't be afraid to bring your kids. They have discounts for anyone under 12 currently. I won't quote it here in case they change their pricing and policies. You can call to get the details.

THE GRILL!!!

Flama, aptly named after the way meats are grilled, is a small, cozy and family-owned restaurant that follows the Uruguayan-Argentinian-Brazilian tradition of rodízio, with a very good selection of meats (beef, pork and chicken). The staff is friendly, attentive and caring. The salad bar has all the staples of a typical Brazilian meal, including real pão-de-queijo, which makes this Mineiro quite happy. Guaraná and other Latin American soft drinks are available for your delight. The Latin American music in the background completes the atmosphere reminiscent of my Brazil. I try to visit Flama one to three times a month. All this for a very affordable price! I give Flama a high rank star review. So, come over and have a chat with Ignacio while your steak is being prepared!

Really good South American style churrascaría (steakhouse) that doesn't break the bank. Dinner on a weekend night was $30 for all you can eat buffet and multiple meat options that include the classic signature Brazilian steak picanha, Alcatra, lamb, garlic steak, bacon wrapped chicken, and more! Dip these succulent meats into the chimichurri sauce and you'll be begging for more! The rice + beans were always a good staple, along with the salad bar. Yuca fries are always my favorite. Surprisingly, the meat stuffed empanadas were AMAZING ! Service was excellent and very friendly with the owner sitting down talking to us. I will be definitely returning to this establishment and I hope more customers get to experience this lovely culinary venture.

Pinto beans and rice, filet mignon, lamb, chicken chipotle and a slab of pineapple!

Nice steakhouse menu, no surprises..all the regulars are there. Opted for the ribeye. All of their steaks come with a choice of potato and the rest of the sides are à la cart. Service was a bit slow but good. Kind of on the smaller side on the interior, but I liked that. Still felt like I had plenty of room with my party. Paid about $330 for party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Service: The service was amazing. My server Madison was so sweet to us for graduation and made sure we were well taken care of. When I got the baked Alaska for dessert she redid the flambé because she felt like it wasn't as good as she hoped. I felt like that was over the top great customer service. I also never had to ask for water as the waitstaff always made sure we were topped off. Food: The steaks were fantastic. We got the filet with fries, ribeye with mashed potatoes, rolls, and Brussels sprouts. Steaks were excellent of course and rolls were so soft and fluffy. When I came a year and a half ago, I thought the mashed potatoes were way too buttery and the duck fat Brussels sprouts were way too meaty. This time around the mashed potatoes were perfect and the Brussels sprouts recipe is new as it is a balsamic reduction with Parmesan which were fantastic. Overall this was a great dining experience but definitely a place to come on a nicer occasion or celebration due to price. My entire experience was 10/10 and so sad to be graduating because I don't know the next time I'll be back to Slaters.

Our waitress was attentive, and she made the best cocktails. The mashed potatoes, the crème brûlée, and the cheesecake were good. My husband loved the garlic bread, but I thought it was too salty. I did not love the steamed veggies. I felt they were overcooked and over-seasoned. I would have had a better experience if my reservation note had been considered for where we were sited. It was a special occasion for my husband and me, and we were sat at the first table from the entrance, in front of the bar, when the restaurant only had seven guests. It was cold outside, and every time the door opened, I felt the wind come in. We were sited immediately next to another couple, and it was a table set for four people when it was a date for two. I understand the need to make a reservation, but why would the restaurant ask what the occasion is if the staff will not consider a special setup for the occasion? Porter House Grill gets a 5 out of 5 because it is a steakhouse, and their steaks are absolutely delicious. Additionally, their cocktails are amazing, and Customer Service was terrific, Porter House does not have a private parking lot; consider bringing quarters for street parking, or you may use a parking garage nearby. Cons: Porter House does not consider your reservation notes to make a guest's special occasion memorable.

My wife ordered chicken masala ( which to my understanding tends to be grilled chicken) but came out fried and doesn't say that on the menu. The potato didn't have flavor and after having asks for a lot we didn't ask for salt and pepper that was not on the table already. The green beans were good! Other family members ordered spaghetti, surf and turf, and another dish I can't remember. That dish came out cold and was obviously warmed up in the microwave when it came back and was still not that hot. They offered 10% off the bill which never was on the bill at the end and double charged kids spaghetti despite's the 2 kids sharing 1 order. It's been a while since I had eaten here but definitely will not be back. Unacceptable experience for the quality and price of food when much better options exist around the corner.

We originally had a 7:45 PM reservation, but showed up early hoping for a change. They were incredibly accommodating and got us seated immediately at 6:30 PM on the patio. It turned out to be the highlight of the night--we absolutely loved the atmosphere out there. Even for an early spring evening in Athens, the heaters were positioned perfectly and kept us comfortable the entire time. It's rare to find a spot that's this flexible and still executes at such a high level. Highly recommend.

I had already been about four times before and had determined that I was never going back after my last experience. Well, this one was even worse. Maybe some of the worst service ever. The restaurant was half full, and 80% of the clientele were sorority girls. Nothing against them but I remember the first time I went there when it first opened and it was full of townies. We waited literally almost 30 minutes for our drinks. Finally we had to go find a manager. We were told that they were out of one of the liquors so instead of sending one of their lame bartenders over to ask if we had a second choice we sat there for 30 minutes. The food is so overpriced. And honestly? I make better food at home. They have all these cute, nice looking folks serving the food and they're a little matching aprons, but they seriously lack any sense of urgency or attention. Not only will I never go back to this restaurant, I'm going to make sure that all my friends know not to go there. But judging from the current clientele, I think most people have gotten the word that this place is not worth the money. Oh, and at the end of the evening, their valet parking app didn't work. My friend spend a lot of money in restaurants, and as we left they said they would never go back there either. You have been warned!

The food: I went with the Fried Chicken Blue Plate. Between the regular and the Nashville Hot, the Nashville was the winner--flavorful and moist without being overwhelming with the spice. Huge shoutout to my server for suggesting the brussel sprouts; that glaze is incredible and they were easily my favorite part of the plate. The mashed sweet potatoes were unique--I'm still debating if I liked them or loved them. The jalapeño cornbread was a bit sweet for my taste but on par with most restaurant cornbread. The mac & cheese wasn't bad, but also didn't do much for me like most restaurant mac & cheese. The cocktail: Do not sleep on Nana's Naissance. I wasn't sure what to expect from the ingredients, but it's like an elevated take on Rumchata. The service: I was seated at the bar and experienced a noticeable delay--a group that arrived well after me almost finished their meal before mine arrived. However, the waitress acknowledged the wait before I even had to mention it and made things right. I really appreciate that kind of proactive service. We're all human, and they handled the situation very professionally.

We had to order bread, not something I'm used to especially with the tapas. Ordered the branzino for 2. Others ordered the steak and pork chops.
