I ordered a mini bowl with white meat and broccoli only. This is how much water was in the bowl! Every bite of my broccoli was filled with so much water as if it was a soup. I can't explain how disappointed I am. I ordered fresh vegetables and chicken and I understand that when we steam vegetables there can be some leftover water but not to this extent .. this is a Poor excuse of a bowl. Some BS. Note* this is the 3rd TIME this has happened. Anyone else?

    It's called, "The Works"

This place originally franchised out of Orange County...if that is so, why did I find it in Apple Valley? I never heard of The Flame Broiler, only seen the signs as I drove along Bear Valley Road, so on this day of immediate hunger I wanted something different...fresh. Healthy. I stumbled upon this lovely place. Located across the parking lot of 'Best Buy' and 'Bed, Bath, and Beyond' I walked into this joint and saw a menu of pictures, a good way to entice the tongue's palette of someone hungry. I was greeted by a happy lady, informed me of the fresh ingredients and the 2-day marination of their thinly sliced meet. I ate at places like this before, but this place is pretty good. I ordered "the works" plate because my ass was hungry. Thin sliced meat, cut chicken breast (not too dry, and full of flavor), and fresh steamed vegetables (not soggy or dampened by water) served over a bed of brown rice (brown rice is optional). Add a side of shredded cabbage with a sesame dressing salad and a wedge of orange and you have yourself a delicious, simple, meal. Adding the special sauce does make a difference, and the red sauce is a little too spicy for me, but if you like a kick, add it. Oh, and if you feel a bit adventurous, there are meals off the menu. It's a good place for a fulfilling, and light, meal. If I stumble upon The Flame Broiler in the OC, I am going to expect the same amount of deliciousness, if not better.

We placed an order online and showed up and they were closed.

Came here the other day. Placed an order online and it said it would be done by 1142 we showed up and it was closed. Good thing we chose to pay in person and not on the app. We waited around till about 1230 and it remained closed.

    Lunch time.

I just enjoyed moist, delicious, flavorful chicken on a bed of vegetables and brown rice all cooked to perfection!

The food was delicious- fresh ingredients, well-seasoned burgers, delicious fries and drinks. More than ample portions. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food came right out exactly as we ordered it. They received 5 stars based on the food and service alone. The ambience was questionable- the dining room was very unattractive overall. We chose to eat in our car instead. The parking lot was also not well made or maintained. Would definitely stop again for the delicious food made with fresh ingredients.

Grinding their beef in house definitely makes a difference. I usually enjoy their Chickenator Fries but this time it looks like the recipe has changed. It still tastes good with their spicy sauces but I remembered that the chicken used to be pieces of grilled breast meat. This time, the cashier asked the chef if there was any chicken left for the Chickenator Fries. He said "yes," went to the freezer and showed her a frozen stick of ground chicken. Albeit, the ground chicken was seasoned well and tasted good; I was just expecting chicken breast meat. Also, the fries were very dark in my portion. They are still the same creamy textured Kennebec potatoes as before but seemed tired and old. Service was okay. They are not really set up for cash sales anymore since there was only 36 cents in their till for change at the time. Dining areas were clean but the interior is due for an update.

The meat in these tacos was outstanding, with not one speck of gristle.. Homemade and better than my homemade. Perfect little diced onions that were sautéed or cooked with the meat so every bite was delicious. Cilantro & onion in the consummé was ideal. Order at the counter but food is served to your table, usually with a little bowl of chips and salsa.

While in the High Desert for business with my partner, we stopped into Montecito Kitchen for lunch…read more She was craving Mexican food, which I'm always happy with, but I personally wanted something a little lighter and healthier--ideally a good salad. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. In my experience, salads at Mexican restaurants can sometimes feel like an afterthought: a handful of greens with a few random toppings tossed in. That definitely wasn't the case here. I ordered the Montecito Chicken Salad, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The chicken was served warm (exactly how I like it on a salad) and seasoned perfectly. It wasn't dry or bland like you sometimes get with salad proteins--it was flavorful and clearly prepared with care. The portion size was also generous. Instead of a few tiny pieces scattered around, there was plenty of chicken, making the salad feel like a full and satisfying meal rather than a side dish pretending to be lunch. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. It's the kind of salad that reminds you a simple dish can still be done really well. Another thing that stood out was the service. The older women working there were incredibly kind and welcoming. You could tell they take pride in their work and in the place itself. That kind of genuine hospitality always makes a dining experience better. Music was at a tolerable level and reminded me of my childhood home, my mom played some great music when she cooked, cleaned or just vibed. Sometimes the most unexpected places end up being the best stops. Montecito Kitchen turned a quick lunch break into a really pleasant surprise. Next time I'm back in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again--there are plenty of other dishes on the menu I'd happily come back to try. Great food, warm service, and a salad that actually delivers. Definitely worth the stop.
