We had a great meal at FlameStone American Grill! My group of 3 came in for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We didn't have reservations, but were seated right away. The dining room is big, but dark. Guests were seated at least 6 feet away from each other, and most people wore masks into the restaurant and when using the restroom. The staff also wore masks. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We ordered the following: Calamari $11.50 Homemade sangria (white) $7.90 Chilean Sea Bass $35.90 Flamestone salad (side portion) $4.50 Kids grilled chicken + green beans Kids Kraft mac & cheese + fries Fried oreos $8 The calamari was good, but a little heavy on the breading. It came with a nice sweet Thai chili sauce. The white sangria was strong yet refreshing. My husband and I chose to split the Chilean sea bass and each ordered a side salad. The flamestone salad was very delish! Came with mixed greens tossed with bleu cheese, sun-dried cranberries, candied pecans, and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The Chilean sea bass came with seared with roasted tomato fondue, parmesan risotto, basil infused olive oil drizzle. It was cooked perfectly! Our little one enjoyed her two kids meals. She wasn't able to finish both, so we took the mac & cheese to go. We ended the meal with fried oreos, which were were fantastic - hard to get those wrong. We would typically visit this restaurant weekly. While the meat is good quality, the sides were limited and the bread was always hard as a rock. Nevertheless, we came because of the quality. We came to the restaurant at around 6:00 pm on 12-31-24 and the four very young ladies at the reception told us they were "not accepting walk ins". I have never been to any restaurant where I was told this, and we will not return to this restaurant in the future. This shows some very poor management decisions, and I would rather spend my money at restaurants that treat regular year round guests properly. read more

Fancy upscale is what it screams, we came in flip flops, shorts, and other white trash attire. Not me my family, I had some nice duds, as I had Yelped it before agreeing to go. The service was great, server was on us like white on rice. My family can be taxing on ohr best days and she handled it with decorum. I got the double pork chops and was delighted to find their were not over cooked. ( You can eat med rare pork chops, I do) The sweet mashed was sweet, lil brown sugar i think. The real star of my meal was the mushroom skillet. Schrooms cast iron cooked on top of a creamy Polenta. It was amazing. The rest of the fam liked their stuff and for the price they delivered. Let me just say that tonight we had an amazing dinner ! My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with our family. Our server (Robyn/Ronnie) was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We had the Guacamole, White Cheddar Spinach Dip, Mushroom Truffle and Margherita flatbreads.The Flamestone Salad is delicious with a balance of sweetness with a bite from the blue cheese.. oh sooo yummy! Look no further to Yelp for help and discovered this place and it was great! Walked in around 12:30p on a Saturday and to my surprise there was no one there. Completely empty. Unheard of in my neck of the woods. So we embraced the quiet atmosphere and decided to have some bottomless mimosas. Our waitress was very attentive and kept refilling us often. Dad ordered the French toast and Mom ordered the classic. Both said they were happy with their choices which made me happy. My burger was very good as well. Tasty! All in all, Yelp to the rescue to grab a delicious brunch while in another part of town I wasn't familiar with. My goal is to provide an unbiased perspective, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. --- It was a long Sunday car shopping trip, and we were initially scheduled to dine in the restaurant, but we decided to take it out and go home. Here is a review of our food experience. --- Appetizers: Tuna Tower and White Cheddar Spinach Dip. The Tuna Tower was diced ahi tuna fresh and perfectly prepared, with fresh guacamole, crispy wontons, and ginger ponzo. Every component of the tower was layered and stacked perfectly in the form of a tower that successfully made it through a 20-minute drive in the car. The quality of the ingredients was clearly elevated from your typical restaurant. The spinach dip is a favorite of ours and never fails ever to disappoint. --- Half Rack of Ribs: The slow-cooked ribs were definitely cooked perfectly, with the tender meat falling off the bone, leaving the bones completely clean of any leftover meat. This was topped with a homemade BBQ sauce, which had a tangy and sweet profile that complemented the flavors of the rib meat. The dish was accompanied by homemade coleslaw and crispy French fries. Overall, this dish was perfectly executed and had a great mix of flavors, spices, and taste. --- Filet Mignon: This was the true test. Could the restaurant deliver a perfectly cooked 9-ounce filet medium rare? They sure did. The filet was cooked to perfection at a medium-rare temperature, providing tender meat that melts in your mouth with every bite. The steak was perfectly seasoned to allow the steak flavors to be highlighted. There were a bunch of options for sides, and we picked the Asparagus with bearnaise sauce cooked to an ideal taste and texture profile - al dante - with a harder crispy outside and a delicate soft inside topped with a bearnaise which added a nice creamy element to the dish. Lastly, Parmesan Risotto had a perfect consistency of tenderness in the rice and creaminess in the liquid with a pop of flavor that elevated the level of the side. --- It is definitely a challenge creating a perfect experience at a restaurant with dishes that have critical timing and temperature to ensure quality, but to be able to do this with take-out food really shows a restaurant that can truly elevate the experience for all customers. read more

Steak wasn't seasoned as well as previous time I asked for steak sauce. When check arrived there was a 75 cent charge for a little thing of steak sauce. Never have I ever seen this at Berns or Ruth Chris! I realize things are tight but COME ON MAN! I'm updating because of reply from the owner. He sent message acting like he was concerned. Overall the experience went well. The atmosphere and ambiance is somewhat out dated, but still is comfortable. We ordered their homemade guacamole for an appetizer. You get to pick the spice level. We ordered medium and honestly it didn't have a spicy kick at all. For entrees we ordered the chicken, prime rib and ribs. Everything was cooked well and presentation was beautiful. Flavor was there in all of them. We did not order dessert, but enjoyed our wine and beer. Server started out great, then as we were eating just disappeared and didn't come back until we had been sitting at our table for a while waiting to pay. First experience with FlameStone today, interesting menu so off we went to check out another food spot. First we drove up and looked like it wasn't open, 12:30 no traffic. Went in side seen about 3 tables seated, while no waiting. Server was pleasant as she handed us a single page menu. Red flag a very limited brunch menu. My wife and family said let's give it a try, I was ready to leave. Since we already ate breakfast choices were salad or burger. All I could think of was the menu I reviewed online, what a let down. Server new we weren't happy and did a great job of working with us. Actually the food was really good and nice serving size. To that we left knowing this was not the dinner we were looking for but lesson learned. If you're serving Sunday brunch you will not be on our destination for dinner. Will give it another chance hopefully better results on next visit. Offer expanded menu for those that get up and eat breakfast in the morning. read more

Not sure of any other menu offerings but the 9 oz filet did not meet my expectations nor my wife's. They claim to have an aged steak. They charge for an aged steak, but they deliver an inferior quality steak. Salad was very good, mashed potatoes were good, vegetables on the side were good. Steak was slightly overcooked. It was beautiful, but it was poor quality. I'm sure they serve a "Select" Grade steak. If I wanted a medium to low quality steak I could always go to Longhorn, Outback, or one of the other Texas steakhouses. My suggestion.. don't come here for a steak. We stopped in today around 3 pm for my mom's 78th birthday. Having never been here, it was honestly a toss up between this eatery and one we were familiar with, so we opted for the new place, and we were very happy we did! The eatery was quite empty, being that it was the end of their Brunch and regular dining time was about to resume. The hostess was quite pleasant and seated us toward the back of the room and we were fine with that, given that we were the only people in the place. Our server, Timmothy was friendly and very helpful when it came to telling us about the menu and the eatery itself. We started with table side made guacamole, we were given a choice about what went in it from the ingredients there, so I went light on the cilantro and the jalepeño peppers, and when it was made it was FABULOUS. Seriously some of the best fresh Guac I've ever had. We ate it all, literally scraping the bottom of the bowl and every last scrap of chips. SO TASTY. Our meals took a bit of time to come out, but I'm ok with that, after all I ordered the Short Ribs with the risotto and root veg medley, and BOY oh BOY that was so damn tasty! The risotto was the best! Mom had the classic cut Prime Rib with the Sweet burbon mashed potatoes and green beans, The Niece had their burger and it was HUGE, even crushed, it needed to be cut in half to be eaten. The husbeaste had their MeatLoaf and it was SO tasty. He had the regular Mashed Potatoes and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh made and succulent. I have updated this review to reflect 1*, less if I could. Check my previous review out for the food portion of the review! Why am I changing it to 1 star? The FlameStone in New Port Richey lacks professionalism and actually trolled me. I had exchanged emails with Yelp's "Nick P" -Business owner, not too long after my original review. As standard, a yelp business owner will always feel obligated to follow up with bad experiences. As serious as I take reviews myself, I always make sure to follow up because one bad experience shouldn't be the end all for a business. So going into my email with Nick P, I didn't ask for any form of compensation; I fully expected the business owner to have more questions. I was ready to oblige. "Nick P" mentioned that he had a meeting with his Chef and GM regarding the experience and wanted to send out a gift card to "Make us (the team at FlameStone) feel better" because they were "confident we could do better". I appreciated that the business went so far as to take it as a team effort and I thanked them. So, a couple weeks later this "gift card" arrives. I open the card, it's a nice little "Thanks for your Feedback " here's a gift card deal. However, the gift card sent out was not only used, with a $8 permanent marker note on it but the card was also just, empty (Check pic below). It's creepy that a business owner would do that but .... Outstanding dinner at a new/old friend this evening. Flamestone Trinity has an A+ game, it was on display this evening. We are regulars at the original location in Oldsmar. Tonight was my first visit after the grand opening. Brenda the GM has her team performing just so. And argument could be made which location is doing it better. Me, I think they're both great. Just about equal. What a difference seven months can make. All the details were perfect. So was the service from Krystal along with super generous portions of expertly prepared. Tonight we had the Flamestone salad and pork chops. The house salad is among the very best! See the see pic. The walnuts, cranberries, crumbled feta cheese and delicious dressing speak for themselves. For the main course, I highly recommend the porkchops. Absolutely guarantee you will take one home! In total I am told there are 20 ounces of pork chop. One small suggestion - less time in the brine. Just a little salty for me. The bourbon sweet mashed potatoes were excellent as always.
