Last Friday, October 24th, 2025, I had a doctor's appointment near the Flaming Grill Buffet. So, I will be close enough to stop by there after the doctor's appointment to hopefully get a container of noodles with broth to bring home for my dinner. Until recently, I was a regular at the buffet, my favorite buffet in the Charlotte area. However, lately I have been suffering from gout, so it makes no sense for me to go there. The broth for their seafood soup is fantastic, and I could certainly just have broth and noodles, so I decided to call there to see how much their big soup container of just broth and noodles would be. I've been surviving on food stamps and have to be very careful with my cash. The first call, the woman who answered the phone did not know what the cost would be and asked me to call back in 5 minutes, which I did. I explained that I only wanted broth and noodles, no seafood, no meat, no veggies. I was told that it would be $2.75, which I thought was fair, and so I went there and bought exactly that for $2.75, and it was very good! So, yesterday, Monday 10/20/25, I was close to the buffet again and decided to get another broth and noodles for $2.75. I get the same thing again, it is the same cashier as last Friday. She puts the soup in a bag and ties it up, and then attempts to charge me $4.98!!! WTF? I said no, you charged me $2.75 for the same thing three days before. It is ONLY broth and noodles. She had a "take it or leave it" attitude about it, and I left the soup there and left the building, maybe to never return again after that experience. And it was there lost because they aren't going to separate the broth from the noodles and put it back in the pot, so it was wasted. What a shame! I got home and had an avocado for dinner last night. read more

A solid four stars for my lunchtime buffet, Flaming was busy with a full parking lot and nearly every table occupied. Despite this, the steam tables were well stocked and tidy. There was a very nice selection of foods including sushi. My waitress refilled my drinks and cleared dirty dishes as needed. I was able to put together a couple of plates of tasty stuff. I still don't understand why people don't use gloves to handle the tongs, but okay. Though in some cases the tong handles still end up in contact with the food. I avoided those. Visited another Asian buffet in a different location in Kannapolis. It's not visible from the main road but once you get into the shopping center area, it's easy to find. Parking is ample, and the buffet selections are about average. The sushi selection is limited and service was about average. The quality of the food wasn't superb but the place wasn't crowded and it was easy to navigate around the food sections without having to wait for someone to finish their serving. For me the food is just ok. Nothing really special except it's affordable for a big family or quick bite. My first time wasn't good at all, it was kinda at the end of lunch buffet so I wanted to try a 2nd time. Fruit and salad bar was fresh and the basic stuff was as usual but the extras were very bland and the pho wasn't tasty at all. I've had Pho from some very authentic and non authentic places and this by far was one of the blandest I've had. Service isn't the best either but not a deal breaker. Ambience is just ehh, nothing special but looked clean. Bathroom could be better but it seems to be an older building sooo. read more

While I am obsessed with the coffee cake, that's about the only thing that keeps me coming back here, since the food is seriously lacking in flavor. Been to this buffet a couple of times now over the years, with first time being back several years ago right before the pandemic when we lived over in Lexington. This place may be a longer drive for some, but it is worth the trip in my view. The restaurant is deceptively large inside but also cozy feeling at the same time, and I would say passably clean at the tables and service areas as well. The staff here seem to be friendlier than my average buffet experience. They are mostly smiles and sweet to the little kids as well, and no one fat shamed me for my typically overflowing mountainous plates of food! Most of the food options here are pretty solid, and they also have the king crab legs and chocolate fountain as well. Go ahead and dip some of the crab into the chocolate fountain! Why not?! This is one of my family's favorite spots!!! Such a huge variety of food to eat, friendly staff, and a very spacious place to seat big families!!!! They are always busy and can get you in with little to no wait! The food is constantly being cooked and replenished and tastes FRESH, not like it's been sitting there all day, like at some buffets! The vibe is casual, and very family friendly! The sushi is amazing!!!! You can see the sushi chef making fresh sushi right there. All of the waitstaff are friendly and very helpful. I first tried this place about 4 yrs ago n it was pretty good. I've watched the prices here climb( like most places ) but I've also have watched the quality of food go down. For awhile they were even saving lobster claws on cold bar and whole lobsters cut in half on regular food bars. When I say whole lobsters they were really whole lobsters, head and all. They also had crab legs after 4 in the evenings but now it is only sat n sun. With higher prices. During the weekdays no crab legs but prices still go up to evening prices. I've also noticed the Waite staff watch closely and after you are about done with your first plate of food they start pushing you along by bringing your check, clearing table. We could all feel like we were being pushed out the door so we wouldn't eat too much. As much as they charge now they really shouldn't be rushing their customers out the door. The food quality has also went down. We used to all liked this place and would give it a 9 out 10 but now I would rate it at about 5 out of 10. read more

Went today around 5ish. I give a 3.7 stars. Food was typical of a Chinese buffet. The boneless ribs were hard. The honey chicken was hard. Wontons for soup wasn't that tasty but egg drop broth was good. Fried and hibatchi rice was bland. Egg rolls were yuck. The good was the veggie lomein and beef with broccoli. The crunchy noodles were really good. Service was good and not too crowded. It costed about $69.00 for 4 people with drinks. I say try it one time, if you like it then good if not don't go back. I've been here before just, just for takeout only. This time I decided to dine in. My 1st plate I loaded with a few different things to taste but what was surprising from the start was how many kids were running around in all the food but many workers hanging in back vs keeping that area under control. The rice was mushy also and it had JUST came out. I decided to grab a 2nd plate this time from the Habacii Grill. The quality of the steak tasted like liver where the chicken didn't even seem to be the same chicken quality I just had in the Habacii Rice. The cooks on the grill seemed to be tip driven just as the waitress so they didn't really show too much interest leaving you confused where lines started at the grill. My drank probably was the best thing I had there and my waitress was pretty cool I guess. I feel this place needs a good cleaning and then expand a few more food options and it'll be that spot. Flmaing Grill Buffet located in kannapolis is an average chinese buffet where you can find the regular chinese dishes. Althogh going at the evening, i found the dish were fresh and upto the best taste. Some of my fav items were scallops, shrimp delight, spicy chicken, hibachi fried rice. I didnot find kung pao chicken and that my fav. Nice selection for dessert too. Although i didnot find any food that i would complain about the above mentioned food were the best items for me. The service was nice, place was clean and hygenic. They had masks and hand sanitizer at the arrival plus the tables were sanitized as soon as it got empty. It has a beautiful small pond at the entrance with koi fish but i feel it needed slight cleaning and that could be a good photogenic spot. Overall this could be a good buffet spot nearby but i feel they should broaden the sea food section and somewhat add more beers. The price is decent and the only reason for a 4 star is because i have been to some other buffet places with huge selection. Stayed at the OYO hotel down the street and when I asked the front desk lady about the buffet she said it was decent but to make sure to go soon rather than later since the food will be hotter and fresher. It was 5pm so I took her advice bc I didn't want to wait til 7 or 8 when the food could possibly be not as fresh and been sitting out for awhile. It was Friday June 18, 2021 and they had a banner stating "free soda drink with dine in buffet". Dinner buffet for this date was $12.99 not $11.29 from what I thought it was but what I saw must of been outdated. The food was surprisingly good. Sushi was decent. The crawfish was actually big with good seasoning, not ur typical bland tiny crawfish I've had at other Chinese buffets. The salt and pepper shrimp was big and tasty too. My favorite that day was the salt and pepper blue crab. It was cooked perfectly I was actually eating some of the crab shell by accident lol. There was lots of crab meat too so I was happy about that. I ate a lot of fish and everything had good flavor. The hot&sour soup and egg drop soup were both good. The clams also were great and had good flavor. All the typical Chinese food items were good too. I was more impressed with how great all the seafood items were cooked and the amount of it. The fruit and desserts were good too. I also enjoyed my watermelon popsicle I had at the end. The decor was nice and the service was great. My waiter was attentive and helpful. He worked hard and I respect him for that. I would def come back here if I was in the area and wish them continued success bc I enjoyed my time there. read more

Flaming China. Located just off the interstate in what looks like an old Steak House building. Lots of private parking in the lot. It definitely does not look like much from the outside. The service was fast and friendly, kept my tea glass full and got me things I needed. The buffet itself is huge and has a lot of items! They also have a grill station, and sushi. A salad bar, and plenty of desert. A chocolate waterfall. You won't leave here hungry. I came for dinner recently, and everything was hot fresh and had a good taste. Nothing off. Nothing weird. Some standouts were the ribeye steak tips, sweet and sour chicken, and the eggroll. I enjoyed this stop very much and would highly recommend it for anybody in the area wanting Chinese. Food was absolutely delicious, lots of bursting flavors in all of the fish, crab, vegetables, sushi, etc. Food was soft enough for elders to eat without hassle, Staff is very polite and professional, restaurant was very clean and kept clean once diners left. Highly recommend and would return, the blue and purple hue over the chandeliers made a cozy feel to the environment. They also have a beautiful water fountain upon entry, as well as a chocolate fountain in the buffet area, my ONLY complaint would be the marshmallows at the chocolate fountain were stale but that's irrelevant in my opinion in the overall experience. could use some small updates but overall 10/10. Its been awhile since I last came here and honestly my experience back then was poor. The servers were rude and the food had been out for what seemed like hours. That being said this experience was the complete opposite. The waitresses were very nice and attentive. The food was rotated often and was very good. Ok. I bought 1 order Crawfish- Horrible no flavor at all, look like they just chopped up some onions bellpepper and boiled with the crawfish. I had to make my own dipping sauce which contained butter, garlic, lemon and cayenne pepper just to eat my crawfish to keep them from going to waste. NO STARS JUST TERRible I order Spring Rolls- I guess everyone definition of Spring rolls are different, but they gave me eggrolls instead.... they were ok.... I give it a 3 out of 5 Shrimp Fried Rice- Now theirs was made with yellow rice instead of white rice. My husband had it and it was ok.... This Buffett was an amazing find while visiting NC. Now don't get me wrong it's your topical Asian Buffett but the perks of the lobster which was absolutely amazing. It just melted in your mouth and had great flavor, the blue crabs were seasoned to perfection and the raw oysters was a hit as well. Great for seafood lovers like myself to get a little taste of everything for a very inexpensive price ($43 for 4ppl). I do wish they had snow crab legs though but the lobster makes up for it. Family favorite restaurant - everyone likes something here due to the great variety of foods offered. I love the hibachi (pick your own meats/veggies and they cook on a grill in front of you) and will stop in just to get that to go over fast food. Everyone loves the "chicken on a stick" (teriyaki chicken) and crab rangoons. My youngest loves the sugar biscuits (of course) and my husband enjoys the sushi options. Usually not too busy, except on the weekends. But they're quick to seat you and they keep up with refilling the buffet dishes well. read more

Granted there are some things I may not have cared for but, that's the point of a buffet isn't it? options because not everyone likes everything. There is a large variety of food here, truly something for everyone. The fried crab legs were seasoned well and so delicious, could've eaten those the entire time! Had to stop myself so I could try other things too. A previous poster mentioned them only putting out very little lobster at a time, that was not my experience. There was a pile of the lobster dish as well as lobster claws on ice. Another gem about this place is that they have a cold case for ice cream, Hershey's brand ice cream cups and ice cream sandwiches in a variety of flavors.
