Oh heck no. This place is filthy, beyond filthy. There's rotting fruit on the table as you walk in. Tables pushed against the wall, greasy windows, it's just bad. And the food is just as awful. I wanted basic chicken fried rice. I got a huge container of yellow rice, too many onions, a bit of white meat of some sort, that tastes like a dirty, old skillet. Someone in the kitchen or whoever owns the place is making the food from scratch, taste really homemade and with real ingredients. We read the reviews and thought it was okay. WOW what a bad decision. Fried rice (on the menu said) it had egg, bean sprouts and the shrimp were cold shrimp and not stir fried and the entire dish had no flavor at all! We asked for soy and mustard sauce only and NO duck sauce.... Guess what we got? All Duck sauce and nothing else! WARNING: This place is a firm No! If you want to have Chinese food this place will only frustrate you. I ordered shrimp fried rice thinking it should be a pretty safe Chinese entree. Sadly it was a big Fail! The fried rice was cooked with yellow rice. :-O I was so confused! The shrimp were the size of the really small ones you might get on a cheap shrimp salad. Really bad Chinese takeout. I ordered broccoli with garlic sauce, bean curd family style, and vegetable lo mein. The broccoli with garlic sauce had a fishy after taste. The tofu dish was mostly vegetable and the tofu itself was kind of sour. The lo mein was literally spaghetti in soy sauce. I won't be ordering from here again and pray that I don't get sick. I gave it a shot and it did not disappoint! I wasn't sure what to expect based on reviews but I was close by and said I will at least try the sesame chicken and go from there. Needless to say, I walked in, it smelt clean inside and the front window staff who took my order was polite and spoke good English. I paid cash and walked to the car and by the time I got back it was finished! Remember the days at the mall in the early 2000's when you get Chinese the container is barely closing. This is a great reminder of that. For 9.50 dinner combo of sesame chicken with yellow rice and egg roll was LOTS of good. It came out piping hot. It was plentiful. It was delicious like straight up if you like sesame chicken give this place a try. It's the good ole style that's not too sweet or greasy. I'll be back for sure! read more

This is the most generic Chinese I've had in a long time. There is no individuality, no soul. The customer service I received upon entering was dismal and I honestly didn't feel completely safe. The food is edible so I'll give three stars. I think the businesses sole purpose is to make money. No care for the customer or making delicious food. I wonder how they keep customers aside from the fact that they are the only Chinese in the area. If you're wanting plain to the point food this is your place. But if you're wanting food with life and soul, and good customer service please go down the road to Bonsai Kitchen. read more

Sunday (4/30/23) I placed an order for Sesame chicken & fried rice , there was very little, if any actual chicken meat, it was deep fried chicken SKIN, needless to say, we did not eat more than just a few bites and we both agreed it was terrible , so we threw it out. I was so disgusted I ended up leaving. There was was this guy that was very disoriented. He was coughing over everything and at the verge of passing out. I watched him cough all over the egg rolls and pretty much pass out while attempting to key in an order. I ordered from here tonight 30 mins after I get a call saying my card had declined. I tried to explain that the money had already came out of my account. The guy said no food for you and hung up. I called back explained again that the money had already came out and he said no no I said you better check because you have 3 options send me my food, refund my money, or I can call the cops and come up there. My experience with the Hong Kong Chinese in Kannapolis has been of good food and adequate portions, but not a glamorous experience in going to pick it up. As some of the other reviews note, it is not a nice new, sparkling place inside. It is cluttered and not anything impressive at all. Love the spicy beef entree with steamed rice. I add 3 egg rolls and can make 3 meals off the huge portion. Great place for takeout. Would not recommend for eat-in, very little space. If you have a problem with language barriers and are looking for a fancy place to eat, this is not your place. But, if you just want some great, tasty Asian takeout, this is a great place. read more
