Funky place for sure! They have Baby Bakers appetizers that could feed an army and is so delicious! Must have reservations but we got lucky and snagged a couple of bar seats.

    The food was amazing!

DELICIOUS!!! My husband and I walked in right at 5 without a reservation and they sat us right away(we got lucky) this place gets packed quick but it's worth it!! We shared the fried pickles, halibut chowder, king crab and donut!! All of it was so good!! It felt fresh with great flavor! The decor is fun with a moody feel! A great gem in Seward!

Passed by here on our first day in Seward. The vibe looked funky as Hell on the outside, which I kinda digged. Immediately wanted to go in and try it out, but it was packed. Which I honestly didn't consider since it was toward the end of the season. It just goes to show how good this place was that it was still loaded during this time of the year. Would definitely recommend getting reservations if you want to eat here. We were able to reserve dinner for the next night, and it didn't disappoint. Whatever image that brings up in your mind when you hear Flamingo Lounge, that is the atmosphere you are walking into. We got the Bucket of Butt and the Sourdough Bread Board as well as a couple of drinks. The drinks were top notch, and the Bucket of Butt was some of the best halibut I've ever had in my entire life. If I had one complaint, it's only that there wasn't enough butt in that bucket. If we ever come back to Seward, this is definitely the first place I'll eat at.

Literally stumbled upon this place while exploring their downtown area. Would've eaten there then, but they were completely full so made reservations for the next night. So glad we did! Feels like you're stepping back in time, and I am here for that. Such a classic vibe, and the menu reflected that. Let me tell you - the Bucket of Butt is the way to go. These chunks of halibut were perfectly cooked and so freaking delicious. And their tartar sauce was just a bonus. Also enjoyed their soughdough bread board - good starter. Nice drink menu. Loved their Pink Pony Club Marg. It's definitely busy here, so it is a bit louder. Service was good. Make reservations. If you want to eat here, it's your best bet of getting a table. Overall, great dining experience. Highly recommend.

"Sinatra Would've Ordered the Halibut" If Frank, Dean, and Sammy ever took a detour north to Seward, Alaska, The Flamingo Lounge is where they'd hang their fedoras. The place oozes mid-century cool -- like someone took a page out of the Sands Hotel playbook and dropped it right on the waterfront, only swapped the desert for glaciers and halibut. Step through the doors and you're instantly back in the golden era of jazz and martinis. The lighting is soft, the music croons, and the cocktails are mixed like they mean it -- none of this "just a splash" business. The bartender could pass for Sinatra's understudy, pouring an Old Fashioned that would make even the Chairman of the Board raise a glass. The seafood? Baby, it swings. The halibut was so fresh I half-expected it to start humming "Fly Me to the Moon." The scallops came out golden and buttery, the crab legs practically winked at me, and every bite felt like a curtain call for Alaska's finest flavors. The crowd was a perfect mix of locals, travelers, and a few folks who looked like they might've stepped right out of a Rat Pack photo shoot -- all smiles, no pretension. You get the sense that if Dean Martin were alive, he'd be crooning by the bar with a martini in one hand and a shrimp cocktail in the other. Pro tip: Dress up a little -- not because you have to, but because it feels right. Order a martini, look out at the harbor, and pretend you've just finished a show at the Sands. The Flamingo Lounge isn't just a restaurant; it's a time machine with better seafood. As Sinatra might've said: it's the kind of joint where the world still spins on vinyl.

Ah yes, The Flamingo Lounge. This has been on my must visit for a few years and this summer was finally my opportunity to try it! I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the restaurant but I am disappointed to say that the menu wasn't as exciting as I had hoped. I ordered the Tanner crab and it was good but the mushrooms on the side were under seasoned and the stuffed dates were burned. Service could have been better as well. Perhaps next time will hit the mark.

Their one and only dessert. Brownie al a mode.

It was nice atmosphere very very busy probably one of the coolest places in Seaward. Must try the crab legs and the halibut chowder! Pass on the hummus plate

I cant believe my first time having bone marrow was in Alaska. The drinks were fantastic, but the bone marrow dish was unlike anything I've ever had before. I pretty much ate this entire dish alone. My friend was really nervous to try the dish and after enough convincing, I got them to try it, they liked it! It truly is a culinary experience. It's not a heavy fattiness, it's fatty, but flavorful and weirdly light. I loved this so much.

Service was incredible, Lily provided us with a lot of local recommendations. I ordered the ribeye, veggie medley, BREAD, halibut chowder soup, beef stew, oreo cocktail/ irish coffee, and more drinks... ALL DELICIOUS. Ambiance was clean, great date night spot, and friendly. Definitely coming back

On our first day in Seward, Alaska, we were told by the lodge front desk that we gotta check out Flamingo Lounge for their drinks and food before we left Seward. Since we were highly suggestible, we went there for dinner. It was a full house at the restaurant and we almost got turned away. Lucky for us, two seats opened up and we got to sit by the kitchen to watch all the actions! The menu had a lot of choice, but we settled with the 28 dollar sandwich, halibut nuggets, broccolini, brussel sprouts, and tots. We also ordered an old fashioned. Everything was good indeed. Our favorite was the 28 dollar sandwich. It was meaty, juicy, and fulfilling. Our least favorite was the price. We understand the income potential is not great during the winter, but paying LA price in little town Seward hurt our feelings. Overall experience was just ok. We truly enjoyed the food and drink, but the service was lacking. The host had a little attitude but she did her best to find us a seat so we like her. But once we sat down, it took a long time to even get a glass of water. For the most part of our meal, no one really attended us and water was never refilled. At the end of the day, we would still recommend the place since we care about the food more than service, but just be aware.

The vibe inside is super unique for Seward but loved that it was still relaxed. We tried out a few of the beers and mocktails and all were delicious. Our food was good, not great, but overall everyone was pleased. The brussel sprouts were way too salty for me and personally would skip on the fries in the future. Service was solid even when busy. Overall, thought it was a good place to have dinner and would return.

Back visiting in Seward and hadn't tried this place before, and I was intrigued by the menu and pictures of the food so we made this our place for dinner. We are from Anchorage and took the train down here may 26, going on a wildlife cruise tomorrow, then taking the train back. This place had a cool, retro vibe, almost like a tiki bar because of the flamingo theme but not tropical. We got seated in the very back by the kitchen(which is fun to watch) and they were high top tables with round seats with no backs. We were fine with that as we didnt have to wait. We came at around 5:30ish and they open at 5pm, we would have had to wait for a table in the main area. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to come around, and he asked us who was seated first out of the 3 parties so we told him, he said he was blind(wasn't paying attention) For food we got the fried pickles which were cut and breaded like fries and came with a jalapeño aoli. I would have preferred ranch but I never asked because I thought they wouldn't have any. Options are good for sauces especially for those who dont like spicy. It was still a good sauce. We also got the bread and butter board. A warm small loaf of bread with two big smears of butter, one with honey and one with cranberries and nuts. We also got a bucket of halibut butts. You have to order fries seperate it is not fish and chips. The batter on the fish was light like tempura with house made tarter sauce. All of the food looked really good, the halibut po boy, the burger, and the baked potato looked awesome. Drinks too looked good. I got the non alcoholic porch swing which was strawberry syrup and ruhbarb purée. If you are in town and close to the sealife center, I would stop by for food and a drink. They also had a little cart outside in the gravel yard that had donuts and drinks as well.

In the men's stall, yes it's a whole bunch of cameras

Several different locals had all recommended The Cookery for a date night, and we'd enjoyed their other spot, Lone Chicharrón, so we took a chance. It took about 15 minutes to get a table for two. The dining area is hip and funky, but also clean and spacious. Our server was a pro and got us sorted on drinks. I really enjoyed her suggested local beer, the Ky PA. We didn't have anything we didn't like. The standouts for me were the mushroom toast, the shrimp and grits, and the Homer raw oysters. The roast halibut and seafood chowder were also really good. For dessert we had the grilled angel food cake with blueberries. They were out of the lemon tarragon sorbet, but subbed in the chocolate coconut sorbet, and it was still very good. Overall a great final meal in Seward. Glad we stopped by!

Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. We were hungry and we could choose all the well-known tourist eateries and pay big bucks, or we could go into Alaska Seafood Grill for a more quiet, family-friendly experience. Walking in at 12:40 PM, we saw that we needed to order at the counter and they would bring the food to our table. There were some open tables, so we did not have to wait to be seated. We reviewed the items on the chalkboard menu above the ordering counter. I don't eat seafood, but luckily they offered a BBQ Bacon Burger with fries. My wife ordered seafood chowder. We also ordered a side of onion rings and bought a brownie for later. I found the burger and fries to be very filling and tasty. My wife enjoyed her chowder. We both liked the onion rings, which were NOT greasy at all. The brownie was soft, chocolatey, and VERY good, just the way we like it. The inside of the restaurant is definitely not what you would call a high-end environment. But, it was clean, quiet, functional, bright, and, most importantly, had clean tables and chairs on which to sit. The staff were all very friendly and answered all our questions. There was a man, perhaps he was the manager?, who walked, dressed, and spoke like he would be more at home in Boston instead of Seward. This is NOT a complaint about him, just an observation. We spoke with him and he answered all our questions in a friendly manner.
