It was my first time in Oklahoma to visit a dear friend of mine I was looking up some places and doing my research (on yelp, of course) and came across, O bar It's located inside a hotel with parking outside. It's not a far walk. As soon as you walk into the hotel the elevator is straight ahead for the o bar. Located on the 7th floor When we got to the bar (it also has food and cigars) it's open seating. They have a bar seating (of course) lounge couches and a few places to sit outdoors (which, was really nice, but it was still very hot. Even for being late at a night) I loved the ambiance, so 5 stairs for that We sat on a lounge couch and was greeted by Metra and Madison (who all deserve 5 stars) Paige is their bartender (5 stars) Madison and metra were both our waitresses taking our orders They are known for their espresso martini. And they can do it decaf. Metra was really good at making suggestions and Madison was great at making sure our waters were always filled and bringing out drinks. All the girls here did a great job. They had great energy, really knowledgeable and were great at small talk. I loved them After the espresso martini Next up was the - later alligator. Which had -Lychee Vocka | Basil Cin | Cocchi Americano My girlfriend kept ordering a lemon drop and then Moscow mules for the rest of The night PS- garden party, by Paige, is another VERY popular drink. I wish I would of Tried it. Especially since Paige knows what she's doing They had another part of their menu featuring seasonal drinks and mocktails. I wish we also would of tried some of Their food. On some days / nights they have specials. Like cigar specials and some music. I think especially for being a hotel Bar, this went above my expectations. Especially with such friendly and attentive service. I can't wait to come back and visit. Hopefully when it's cooler outside and can sit on the outdoor patio to enjoy the view Everything deserves 5 stars. Even their bathroom was extremely clean I even needed to take some cash out for something and Paige and Madison pointed out that there was an ATM located inside (by the bathroom when you walk out of the bar) Even during a weekday this place was really nice. I really like O Bar. The space is beautiful, the skyline views are great, the cocktails and food are good, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. On paper, it should be an ideal place to unwind over a cocktail after work. But somebody in management desperately needs to rethink the music programming. At about 5:30 on a Monday evening, with four patrons in the bar, the soundtrack bounced from Faith No More's "Epic" to Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog," then Tai Verdes' "Two Sugars," Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Black Summer," and finally Green Day's "Stab You in the Heart." The problem isn't the music itself--I actually like much of it. It's that the playlist seems completely disconnected from the room, the time of day, and the energy of the guests. O Bar is giving upholstered chairs, skyline views, martinis, and early-evening decompression. The soundtrack is giving 1973 Camaro doing 87 on I-40. By the time Green Day came on, the disconnect was almost comical: The room: "Would you care for another martini while you watch the sun settle over downtown?" Corporate soundtrack: "STAB YOU IN THE HEART." I politely asked the bartender whether we could switch to something a little more mellow. He couldn't have been nicer, but explained that the music is controlled by corporate and staff aren't allowed to change it. Apparently he has even gotten in trouble for trying to play something more appropriate. That's the part management should pay attention to. Music is part of hospitality design. A sophisticated bar like this needs thoughtful dayparted music programming: Monday at 5:30 is not Friday at 10:30. Nobody is asking for elevator music--give the room personality--but early happy hour calls for something with enough pulse to keep the space alive while staying behind the conversation. The bartender clearly understood the room. Give your staff some discretion, or at least give them playlists that respond to the setting they're actually working in. Excellent bartender. Excellent setting. Good food and cocktails. But the soundtrack was so relentlessly mismatched with the early-Monday atmosphere I wanted that I scarfed down my food and quickly sought Monday-vibe shelter elsewhere. Management: please give this beautiful room the soundtrack it deserves. read more

Date night the Saturday before Christmas? Yes please! I'm from Oklahoma but haven't lived here since 2006. Every time I come home there's a newer development or new-to-us restaurant friends and family are raving about. Our double date suggested O Bar based on previous experience. They said they've never had a bad experience or a dish / drink they didn't like! The men opted for old fashioned's, good enough for a second round. The women opted for a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both delicious. I had the beef Wellington bites which were perfectly crispy on the outside with tender inside. My spicy tuna roll was picture perfect and the taste matched! Service was great, the space was romantic and cozy. The location is also great with lots of other restaurants and businesses to keep you busy for the evening / day without having to get back in the car to go to another spot. read more

Been wanting to check out O Bar for several years or catch some live music, and just finally had the chance to make it out. I didn't visit as a patron in any regular circumstance though; I was here to attend a cocktail class they were holding. We got directions to make three cocktails: Moscow mule, cosmopolitan, and vodka martini Parking and entering the hotel was easy, and the front desk provided directions up to the floor for O Bar. The hotel is very nice, and everything from entering the building to exiting the elevator to O Bar made me feel upper-class lol The space for O Bar is really intimate with lots of high-top tables and chairs on the same side of the bar, and some nice furniture and low tops on the left side. The bar is straight and short in length, but proportionate to the space There are windows galore across the space; view allows for ranges from the NE to NW. The balcony is on the west side of the bar, and there are a few tables and chairs out there Their staff is super friendly and they are certainly cocktail experts that want to know your preference if you like cocktails made your way. The lingo used to order drinks is broad especially for drinks like martinis using words such as dirty or dry and then the choice between gin or vodka, and some other choices I couldn't remember but included ingredients like vermouth and green olive stuff, and orange and lemon zest to extract and flambe the essential oils with a match. Also learned that the amount cranberry juice in a cosmopolitan can tremendously affect the outcome of the cocktail Of the three cocktails we made I think the cosmo was my favorite, but the directions and guidance from O Bar was full of great fun facts. The presentation from the Grey Goose Representative was top notch, and the most memorable fun fact about the vodka is that the wheat GG uses comes from the 'bread basket region' of France, and if you know French Cuisine then you know what's up with that... Savoy Trio is a delight - Jazz group plays at least once a month on an early Thursday night; staff is pleasant & has the best recommendations for libations. If you live for rooftops, you need to come here for the views. Sunset is magical and a wonderful backdrop to the Devon Tower. If you're feeling peckish, there is a bar and dessert menu to browse. Get the Steak and frittes! Perfect in every way. The service is awesome bc it is a small and unique rooftop restaurant. And you cannot get a better view! I like that you don't have to sit on the patio for the view bc sometimes my allergies get to me. So, I like that I can sit inside and still see the OKC skyline. The kitchen is shared with Chalkboard below. But they have a little bit of a different menu and specials upstairs.
