If there is a restaurant I will never forget, it's Flamingo's Hollywood Steak House. It's like I was there in August and the entire place is all dolled up and lavishly decorated for, would you believe, Christmas! After some inquiry I find out it is that way all the time, year-round. After getting over the Christmas décor shock, I settled down with a double bourbon Manhattan to review the menu, which was also surprising in that it was a handwritten individual daily menu, not the standard menu of most restaurants with nothing special for the day. And, the menu was awesome with great selections from veal parm to prime rib, pork chops Angus streaks, salmon, etc. About 18 choices in all. I selected the prime rib rare and Beloved went for the grilled salmon. Both dishes arrived precisely as ordered and we found both to be totally delicious. I also was impressed with the price of $25.95 for such a good cut of prime rib, a regular bargain compared to what I am used to paying for the same elsewhere. With its outstandingly good service and good food, Flamingo's Hollywood Steak House is a place I can recommend, especially if you love Christmas year-round. read more

Offered a homemade honey and celery salad dressing, I've never had it before so tried and I liked!!! Then as it was a bit sweet Gloria suggested mix it with ranch and oh my what a great combo! We had a family gathering at this restaurant before Mother's Day. I had never been here before. The first thing that hit me was the smell. You walk through the door and are hit with a thick musty smell. On the verge of a septic smell. To your left is a velvet couch full of pillows. You walk further and it's solid Christmas decorations. I'm sure all these decorations are holding much of the stink. Then I wonder how they can clean the restaurant with wall to wall; ceiling to floor clutter. If I had gone there on my own, the smell would have sent me back out the door. We continued on with the meal. The server was top notch. Took great care of us. The food was "ok". Nothing stood out as being delicious but average. The prices were on the high side. Honestly the stink made it hard to enjoy the meal. I won't be returning and I can't recommend this restaurant. read more

We made reservations for the Saturday of Valentine's Day Weekend. There was only 1 server and 1 bar tender the entire night. The server was beyond polite and worked her tail off, but she was obviously frustrated. The food was outstanding and we will definitely we back! We just felt bad for the staff! read more

Funky out of the way place that doesn't look like much from the outside. Then a slap in your 70s disco boudoir face on the inside. The owners can be off putting And even rude when the place is busy. If you can get past them the food is really great. The servers are very fast, friendly, and helpful. We've had the Veal and Chicken Parm, Stuffed Chicken and Pork chops, Pot Roast, Lasagna, etc. ALL great. The soups great. And the honey celery salad dressing is addictive. Sundays are packed after church. Tuesday nights are busy. Call a head. Don't miss Christmas at this place. The decorations are unforgettable along with the Marilyn Monroe ladies bathroom. This is my yearly chosen birthday place. I love the prime rib, but everyone who comes with me and have other items - steak, shrimp, veal parm say their meals are great. As for the décor - that's what makes the place great! Where else can you see an upside down Christmas tree? We get the biggest kick out of the "jungle room" and everything else. We first visited the Flamingo two years ago - stopped by there for a drink at the bar before heading to a friends house - it was around Christmas-time and the trees and decorations were so impressive - kept telling ourselves we'd go back at some point for dinner, but life gets in the way... So this year, tonight, for an early Anniversary dinner, we decided to finally go to there for dinner. We got there around 5pm. There were a couple of people at the bar, another couple at a table beside the bar, a party of 8 or 9 people in the middle of the restaurant, and maybe 2 or 3 two-party couples in the back where we were directed to go. We were directed to a table. Sat there for 5-10 minutes - a very rushed middle aged, blond waitress asked us if we had a reservation - no, we did not (they do not have a website to look at the menu, let alone see that 'reservations' are suggested.) The restaurant was in no way packed or busy - tons of empty tables all around us. She says to us "We have a large party coming in" - walked away, came back about 5 minutes later and basically threw the menus on our table. We sat there for another 5-10 minutes, she never came back and even asked us if we wanted a drink. By this time we were getting aggravated - basically being ignored, feeling like we were putting them out by wanting to eat there - we were being blown off. Decided to give the wait staff another 5 minutes to at least stop by our table to at least take a drink order, apologize - even make up an excuse like they were 'understaffed' - anything and when they didn't, we left and went to Red Lobster. To note - we are very patient people (both of us have worked in the service industry and have had to deal with customers in a busy situation) but this was absolutely the WORST customer service we've ever experienced at a restaurant. We were really looking forward to having a nice dinner there, since we've heard such good things, but we will not be going back. No excuse for being blown off for a 'large party' that hadn't even arrived yet. read more

My family and I have been to the Hollywood steak house many many time..I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here...the steaks are fantastic. The French onion soup is awesome..my husband always get the dinosaur cut prime rib...it's the biggest cut of meat I have ever seen..Don't let the crazy decorations fool you this is one awesome place to dine.. read more
