This place was a-okay! Stopped in for dinner one evening on a particularly cold night and was grateful for the comfortable atmosphere of this pub & grill. On entry, it feels a bit like you're in the jungle with several hanging plants making for a very unique entryway. We were seated immediately in a booth towards the front of the restaurant, somewhat close by to a stove. We were a bit close to the front door so I'll admit my feet were fairly chilly by the end of the meal. Waitstaff were attentive and we had drinks in no time. I enjoyed a Maple Cream Stout special they had advertised on a sign outside. Glad it caught my eye on the way in as I didn't see it advertised in any of their menus. For food we wanted to sample a few things and ordered buffalo wings, potstickers, fish and chips, and a specialty salad with glazed walnuts, dried cranberries, feta, and a raspberry vinaigrette. Everything was tasty but I can't say it reached stand out territory. For example, the wings had good spice but were a bit on the slimy side. The salad was my favorite out of everything, very hearty and a great flavor profile. I can see why people enjoy this cozy pub. It's a good option in town. read more

After taking a tour of the Star Trek Set in Ticonderoga, we looked on YELP and found Flanagan's Pub and decided to try them. It was about a 30 minute drive from the Star Trek exhibit. We found the place to be very friendly, great service, clean and definitely a touch of the Adirondack's inside. I ordered the double burger without the bun and really enjoyed it. Visited this gem after reading reviews on here and this place didn't disappoint. We ordered takeout and called in our order. Super friendly staff and reasonable pickup time. We ordered the Specialty Salmon Burger, the Shrimp Basket, and the Garlic Pesto Sticks. Everything was delicious and traveled well and I loved the hush puppies included with the shrimp basket. The shrimp were hand breaded, deveined, and the tails were removed. The salmon burger was char-grilled to perfection and the pesto bread was an experience I didn't know I had been missing. If you love bread and pesto, enough said! We will definitely dine in the next time we are in Schroon Lake! read more

I was in town for Thanksgiving and wanted a chance to visit some local businesses. There were really only two bars to choose from and I knew I was going to have some lunch after climbing Mt. Severance earlier that morning. The menu at Flannigan's had one of my favorites, I have always loved a good Reuben. We went in the Saturday after TG just as they opened at Noon. There was already one local sitting at the bar with his pre-work draft beer. The special that day was buy one Mule, get one half off. We got the special, two Cranberry Mules, and both were they delish. My Reuben came out on perfectly grilled marble rye bread and the onion rings were thick and fresh. The bartender was very friendly and attentive and she was very patient with the customer that had her on the phone for about 15 minutes. The place was nice and cozy and exactly what I expected but the food and drinks were better than my expectations. Overall, I would recommend going there, get the mule and the Reuben and enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Service was terrible. We asked for waters, the server told us to wait, and we waited 22 minutes, nothing. We tried to go to the bar and order drinks, she refused to give us drinks. We have had drinks there many times, but have never eaten here. Today we had lunch, very impressed, food was delicious, served piping hot and tasty. We had the flat bread pizza appetizer, i had a Reuben and my wife's Steak Sandwich was superb. Service was great, very clean inside, there is a dining room or you can sit at bar. Reasonable pricing. Wow, as usual...I LOVE this place!!! They told us service might be slow because of staffing issues. We had trainee Anna and she was friendly, efficient and did a perfect job, even with my picky order(!). Service was on point. Kitchen's at the top of their game. Food came out fast. I usually get the salmon salad with this amazing citrus ginger dressing, but was craving a burger. Cheeseburger here is fantastic. Cooked perfectly and so tasty. Can't recommend Flanagan's enough. Love this place! We were so lucky to find it on our way through Schroon Lake. It's especially welcome to find a family pub with really great food, great service and nice staff -- even met the friendly owners. We were pressed for time and they were super cordial and helpful. The place looks like an old fashioned -- in a good way -- roadhouse with big menu and ample portions not too pricey. I had a 12oz steak and my friends had chicken wings, fish dinner and surprisingly good cocktails. We left happy and with a big pizza to go. One of my favorite neighborhood pubs ever! Comfortable, cozy interior. Very friendly efficient service. Tasty non-pretentious pub food including chicken wings (love home-made bleu cheese on the side) flat breads, pizzas, sandwiches, soup (there is always a hot, tasty soup of the day to get you thru a cold North Country day or evening) sandwiches. Very nice selection of beers on tap, too, including local favorites from Fiddlehead Brewery in Shelbourne, VT and Ubu from Lake Placid. The staff at this place are a nightmare. We stay every year at a cabin/lodge nearby for the summer and we alternate between the local places which we love. Flanagan's has such surly waitstaff (most of them) that we will go out of our way to avoid it. One woman server was so unbelievably rude to my wife because the order for nachos was completely wrong and we asked for the right one (please) and she threw a fit. It was amazing. Another family from the lodge also actively avoids this place for the same reason. Go to Pitkins or Sticks and Stones or the new Asian joints. Don't go to Flanagan's unless you want whatever you order with a side of abuse. lol it's so awful. And I used to be a server in my day. Unacceptable. ----John P. read more

My friend and I stopped here after a long 5 hour drive just looking for a bite to eat. I honestly was so dissatisfied after leaving. The one good experience we had was walking in. An older woman (whom was so sweet) greeted us and sat us down at a table. Once we were seated it took a while for our waitress to come find us. She was one of the rudest waitresses I've ever experienced. I would 100% not go here again when I come back to the area. She seemed annoyed when I asked her a question and talked back to me as if I should've known the answer? The food was meh too nothing great and the side of chips tasted straight out of the Lays container. We went around 5pm and left at 7:20ish, it's not a very fast dining experience if that's what you want. The fries were good. Wish we got a better server :( read more
