Used to have great German dishes (wursts and pretzels with multiple mustards, potato pancakes, etc.), but the food has really gone downhill. More importantly, the service has deteriorated to the point of being hostile, especially the female bartender my friends and I encountered recently. It's a great location for Gore visitors to have a beer and some pub food, so the owners appear to be content with the current level of service/food. read more

You're either drinking by a campfire or inside of a yurt! What more could you ask for? I came with my family here two years in a row, and neither experience disappointed. The first year was warmer, so we sat outside the main bar by their outdoor fireplace. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The second year (this year), there was a lot more snow still on the ground, so we went inside. There are actually 3 yurts combined into one "Mega Yurt" with three rooms. One was the bar, the second was a chill room with a gigantic TV the size of a small child, and the third seemed to be more overflow of the first two. The yurt area and the main bar were separate buildings. As the former had no running water, only beer and wine were served inside there. However, we were encouraged to go to the main bar for food/any drinks that might require ice (or hot chocolate!) and then come back and enjoy the yurt with it, once those have been acquired. That was an easy sell, and we were soon enjoying beer cheese and pretzels, along with spiked hot chocolates inside the yurt. This place is lovely, no matter where you sit and hang out! read more

Love the decor and ambiance walking in. The dining area is quite large and plenty of seating to be spaced out from others. It was pretty quiet when we went and seat yourself so we were in an area all by ourselves. Service was pretty quick. We were all starving after hiking. Menu has good variety. I ordered the bratwurst and it was filling but taste wise it was okay. Also if you're going during lunch, I would just double check that they charge you for the lunch prices and not dinner prices. They mischarged us for the dinner prices which is a few dollars more. I'm just glad I remembered that the numbers didn't look the same. read more

2 of my friends had allergies, the server aknowledged allergies and still served us food that was contaminated. Menu is not accurate either $2 up charge for cheese on a cheeseburger is crazy. When the waitress asked how our meal was I told her straight that it was really not good. Cute place. Stopped by for lunch. The Wiener schnitzel was more like a pork chop with 4C seasoned bread crumbs. It was still pretty good. The mushroom sauce and homemade mustard were excellent. The pierogis and kielbasa were ok. Kielbasa was more like krautwurst sliced into disks and sautéed. The pierogis did have caramelized onions but looked more like deep fried empanadas. Even though the food wasn't the styles we get "down state" from the German immigrants, the food was delicious and the ambiance was cool. read more

This was our second stop into Becks. First time was after a hike last fall and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were excited to head back this past weekend while we were in Indian Lake for the Eclipse. We made a bee-line for Becks when they opened on Saturday. We were greeted and seated quickly and then things fell off from there. The bartender working was what can only be described as indifferent. We placed our drink order with him and that was pretty much our last interaction. We were seated at the bar but had to place our food order with a waitress (it was not busy). The food came out quickly, but there was some confusion with the kitchen as they kept bringing us food we didn't order. That would normally be a fine problem to have, but unfortunately none of the food we actually ordered was very good. The poutine was a gooey mess. The kielbasa and pierogies were over cooked. The boneless chicken wings were thankfully decent. The bartender eventually returned to collect our partially eaten plates, but never bothered to ask us if we would like another round (which we did). We had all we could do to get the check and flee. We get that North Creek is between seasons and Becks was probably only open to take advantage of the Eclipse tourists, but the lousy service we received de-railed our plans to have a nice Saturday session and made us wonder if we should even bother to stop in again when they open in earnest. We arrived very excited to be back at Becks and left deflated. If this were our first time at Becks we would never return. As it stands, we'll give them another shot next time we're local just to see which of our visits was the fluke. read more

After a day of Whitewater rafting, went for dinner at Becks, the food was fresh but the steak I ordered came out cooked perfectly but was just warm. Friendly waitress but she was overwhelmed. Other people in my party had to wait for their gravy for their dinner. The grounds are very nice with a fire pit and Yurts here in The USA we call them tents lol. Visited Beck's Tavern in 2022 with approximately a dozen friends and it was great (5 stars). Great food! Lots of options. Dined at Beck's Tavern in 2023, with the same friends, and it was very disappointing. We visited the Barton Garnet Mine (great experience) prior to Beck's Tavern. We had high expectations based on our previous visit in 2022. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We'll definitely try another dining establishment next year. Extremely disappointed and would not eat here again. All our food was sub par. I ordered the pork schnitzel and my friend ordered the chicken schnitzel. Both of our dishes tasted like nothing but heavily breaded and fried meat. No seasoning and we couldn't tell pork from chicken. The mashed potatoes were completely bland and our side vegetables were clearly frozen veggies from a bag. My broccoli consisted almost entirely of stems. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi which is supposed to have a light kick. The waitress said it's not that hot. It came out covered in red pepper flakes and she found a long hair mixed in with her pasta. Needless to say we sent that dish back. We were excited for this place since there aren't many restaurant options in the area, but a beer is the only thing I'd order here again. read more

Like so many food services this summer, Beck's appears to be struggling with having enough kitchen staff. However, the bartender in the main building was up front about the wait we would have for our food, so it's all good! The outdoor area is awesome. Lots of tables and comfy chairs. Corn-hole! The bartender in the yurt makes you feel right at home. We enjoyed most of our food, especially our friend who ordered the kielbasa. And if you like dogs, this is the place! Both times we have visited, there have been friendly dogs in the yard, willing to be loved! Even in the summer, it is clear this is a skier's haunt, which makes for a great ambience. read more

Came in early evening on an fall day. We were greeted by a lovely outdoor fire and outdoor music but opted to dine inside because it was a bit chilly. The space was very nice and clean and we were seated quickly. That's about where any positive review for this place ends. There was an obvious tension in the air between all staff. Our waitress stated they were understaffed but we counted a lot of staff that spent a lot of time at the bar deep in whatever drama was going on. Our waitress seemed to be the common denominator in that drama and was clearly disgruntled with and down right rude to younger staff. She was so focused on the drama she forgot to put in part of our order so it was never prepared, she forgot a drink order then rolled her eyes and brought something over that we didn't order when we asked about the status of our drink. She Rolled her eyes again when we asked for the right thing. She took our plates and stacked them on top of each other before we had a chance to let her know we needed boxes for leftovers. We watched her do the same thing to the table next to us. The food was actually good but overpriced for what it was. Really wanted to love the place. Disappointed. read more

I'm so glad we got to eat here for our stay the food was good and we tried a few items on the menu. I got a burger that was cooked perfect and fries were crispy how I like them.
