Greasy spoon with a view? Yes please. Flapjack and I have some seriously lore, when I first turned 21 I lived in TC. I spent many hungover Sunday mornings enjoying the stuffed hashbrowns. So this 70's themed little breakfast spot always get's me real nostalgic. We visited on a snow Sunday morning and surprisingly it wasn't too busy! The Bloody Mary was perfect and much more flavorful than I expected! The service was lovely, the view was better. This spot is well priced and worth a stop on the way back home.

This was my take home portion. I was not going to leave it that's for sure!

I got the banana bread French toast. I have no words o be able to describe the most delicious, mouth watering , moist bread with a sweet maple drizzle and topped off with banana slices and walnuts! Soooooo good!!!! I will be back and order that again! And the service was great too

Stopped in here on our way out of Traverse City. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the stuffed hash brown- they were really Crispy and had bacon, cheese, green pepper, and onion mixed in. I upgraded to the Reeces flapjacks. They did not disappoint! Tasted like a Morning dessert. Pancakes topped with peanut butter and ice cream topped with chocolate- definitely sweet! Definitely be back

This place was SO GOOD! Sitting by the window enjoying watching the snow fall while eating some of the best breakfast I've ever had will be a core memory for sure

One of the breakfast stops while visiting the area. Inside is a step back into time with vintage decor and awesome style, hello 1970! Service was great, seated quickly and our waitress never let our cups run empty. She has very good menu recommendations where anything is customizable. I had the hungry man omelette. Stuffed with everything but the kitchen sink it was fluffy and had loads of flavor. I upgraded to banana bread French toast. It was awesome. Fresh bananas, walnuts and a sweet sauce atop. Not overly sweet, but a nice compliment to the omelette.

A group of us were looking for a breakfast spot before heading to the airport and we found this one! They have an extensive menu with both sweet and savory items and we had amazing service. I ended up ordering the veggie scramble with egg whites which came with a side of potatoes and upgraded to blueberry flap jacks (thought to try the flap jacks since the name of the restaurant but you also had the option of toast). Overall I enjoyed them, wish they would've used some fresh blueberries and the Bloody Mary I had was a little stronger and spicier. I'd recommend this spot!

Breakfast Mozzarella sticks...which are just mozzarella sticks but in the morning.

Anyplace you can order mozzarella sticks off the menu for breakfast is a place that will always hold a special place in my heart. However, these MS (mozzarella sticks), kind of missed their mark. The breading was more of a fried breading which is my fave as compared to the actual breaded breading. But the cheese part of the cheese stick just felt a little flat. More gooey/runny than stringy/chewy, which always brings MS to top tier. My main meal was the Sunrise Special, which sets you up for the potential of meal that will get you rip roaring to start your day. In reality, this meal mostly gave me a little nudge to start my day. And not even really a heartfelt nudge. More like the kind of nudge you give your grandma when the check out line is moving and she's standing there reading the magazine headlines. My scrambled eggs were the type that were scrambled then spread out on the cook surface to cook before being sliced up and laid awkwardly across my plate. 4/10. My Spuds (cubed and fried potatoes) were decent. Salt, pepper, and ketchup go a long way here. They tried hard, I'll give them that. 5.5/10. My pancakes really fumbled the ball here. Visually, they looked good. But they were dense and tasted of too much flour or pancake mix or sadness. 3/10. I am a man of bacon. It is my spirit animal. I prefer it limp. Or floppy. Or loose. Or lightly cooked. However, I always struggle to find a restaurant to perfect the limp bacon cooking method. 5/10 on limpness.

So much fun. Looks just like 60's diner and the food is great. I hade cherry stuffed French toast and my husband had biscuits md gravy. Both excellent.

Thankfully the Root Beer was excellent. The service was friendly, but not very efficient. I think they are short staffed because the bar tender was also my waiter and he was busy bartendering! When you come in, you are immediately and pleasantly assaulted by their dessert display case so feast your eyes and meanwhile, plan to save some room in your belly because trust me, you'll want some of their dessert. As a result, I ordered a salad, the up north cobb which was good and moderately filling and my husband had the special which was a chicken salad sandwich served with chips. We both had a nice lighter lunch followed by some delicious desserts. Generally, I order dessert and my husband eats what I cannot but this time, he orders his own. I had the cherry crumble and he had the sticky toffee pudding. Their dessert definitely satisfies the sweet tooth craving. So good and so much food! Service was fine. We ended up with the bartender as our waitress who had to do both roles during a busy time. She was a bit flustered but was generally pleasant whenever she came to the table to get our order and check on us. I only wish we were able to come here for dinner but lunch definitely did not disappoint and the dessert was epic!

My fellow companions split the banh mi fries and said they were really good. I ordered the pork ribeye and it was just as fantastic as our server Autumn said it would be / thank you for the recommendation! Other things ordered were the tomato swiss soup, Caesar salad and chicken confit, all very good. Only food hiccup was the burrata ravioli which my friend said did not really taste like burrata and the beet pasta sauce was thin and lacking flavor. It also didn't coat the ravioli at all. It seems like the non pasta dishes were the better options! If I was in Traverse City again, I'd be back!

I typically don't like beer, but I love fruit flavors. As an appetizer, we got the red pepper hummus and it was meh--I didn't really like it. It was thick and had the texture of cold refried beans and instead of pita, it was served with tortilla chips that tasted like Tostitos brand. For my flatbread pizza, I chose the Wolverine which was topped with pineapple, pepperoni, jalapeños. I've never had pineapple on pizza so I can't really be a good judge, but it was alright. I liked how thin the crust was. For dessert, we got the mini ice cream bars as recommended by the woman sitting near us. They're Ice Box Brand Ice Cream Bars by a Michigan-based company. They sell two sizes: regular and mini. I chose a mini toffee crunch and it was the perfect size. It was really good. I'd love to just buy these ice cream bars to have at home!!

The halibut was very well seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the risotto was a great accompaniment. My fried perch was, as expected, not as good as the halibut, but still quite above average. The prices were higher than a "regular" sit down, but I felt it was a good value compared to a place like Artisan at Delamar or the restaurants at Grand Traverse Resort (we paid about $85 + tip for the halibut, perch, 1 lobster bisque, and a soda) The location is certainly one of the main draws here, as the restaurant is located right on the water, with a great view of the west bay. We were very happy to get a table with a good view of the water, but it seems like the vast majority of tables also have a good view, aside from the bar seating. The decoration and furniture was tasteful and cute -- not quite fancy, white tablecloth vibes, but much more elevated than your average taxidermy-infested northern Michigan dinner spot (ahem, Nonna Lisa's in Mackinaw...) The service was one thing we encountered that I felt was less than completely perfect. Strangely, it seemed like our waiter was a bit overwhelmed or something, despite the moderate crowd, and forgot to bring our soup until about 2 or 3 minutes before the entree came out, and then did not bring the ciabatta bread until after the entree. We also did not get our Coke until after the entrees came out, which I thought was a bit weird for a place as nice as this. But, I know things like that tend to happen in food service, so I don't hold it against them. It was also nice that the manager came to chat with us about TC and our hometown. Overall, we loved this place, and my girlfriend is begging me to come back. We would love to make this place a tradition!
