I've been seeing the 'All you can eat Friday Fish Fries' so I stopped by to check it out. It was head and shoulders above the higher end restaurants. They have hand made batter for the fish, it's not frozen and then fried. Even the fries and cole slaw were better. My husbands potato's were real mashed potatoes, he enjoyed his meal as well. This place has a comprehensive menu, great prices, enormous portions, and ample parking. It's not fancy. Who needs fancy? I prefer delicious. Our waitresses have always been super. They're the no-nonsense, tried-and-true variety. They are experienced. The kitchen does really good work. When I have visited, my table is between 4 and 10, and we always have a great experience. Recommended for anyone who wants a solid breakfast or lunch. read more

I really was impressed with the greeting we received when we arrived at Flapjacks. The host was friendly and welcoming. We were asked for beverages and told that our server would be right with us. Ok, she came to our table without a hello or even making eye contact. I asked how her day was and she told us it was an "off" day. I told her I hoped it got better. She was quite unfriendly and seemed preoccupied with whatever it was causing her "off" day. Sorry lady, it's not about you. As far as the rest of the experience, it was great. Had lunch here Saturday with family. It was a good midway point between our homes. All four of us loved what we ordered! (Some ordered breakfast food, some lunch.) Moved here nearly two years ago and an old fisherman told me, "I've been here for 87 years and the best breakfast you'll find is at Flapjacks." That was enough of a recommendation for me! He was right. Driving by, you wouldn't think, "Hey, I'll bet this place is amazing- think I'll eat here." But the Locals know how good it is and you often have a tough time finding a parking place on any Saturday or Sunday. Diner-style service and food you can tell is home cooked. Very reasonably priced. Husband says the corned beef hash is the best he's ever had and I really like their smothered biscuits (two eggs, cheese, choice of meat and gravy over biscuits) with a side of fresh fruit. And, everything on the menu is affordable- we usually get out around $20 or so. The waitresses are all so friendly and the manager is a hoot! We give him a different name every time for his wait list and he'll make up a name when he calls us for our seat. We love Flapjacks! I have eaten here a bunch of times. I highly suggest the skillets or the omelets from here. I wanted to try something different because I always get the Mexican skillet. My boyfriend and I ordered the country fried steak breakfast meal, eggs benedict, and a side of French toast. The portion sizes are big and the food always taste amazing. Due to all the craziness I decided to pick up the order and eat at home. However, the many times I have been here the staff is by far the friendliest in the area. Normally I would give Flapjacks a much more positive review. In the past I have had great food at a reasonable price. Today I tried to meet a friend there and was denied a table until she arrived. I could understand if it was a peak business time but the restaurant was maybe 20% full on a Friday at 8:20 AM. I tried to point out my dismay through humor by looking outside and telling them I was looking for the tour bus they were expecting. I was told it was their policy to not seat parties until all were present, this allows them to turn the tables faster. I was offered a seat at the counter to wait. I told them forget it and went down the road to Tiffany's for a much more positive experience. read more

Finally! A restaurant that I can get pancakes instead of toast. I've asked in numerous restaurants and have been looked like I'm an idiot. One waitress even said, "Well, toast is toast and pancakes are pancakes.". WTH does that even mean? The potatoes were good and the omelette was excellent. The ingredients were mixed in with the eggs and not just folded over like an egg taco. Coffee was adequate. The service was good and the waitress was nice, fun, and efficient, a real pro. Prices were good and were a whole $5 cheaper than other local restaurants. a nearly 4% surcharge is added for using a credit card. What's keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the silverware was the cheapest, tinniest utensils I've ever used, a step above plastic. Also, you'd think that a place called Flapjacks would have decent syrup, but I only had a squirt bottle of syrup placed on the table, and I wondered if it was real. Other than those 2 complaints, I enjoyed my experience, I will undoubtedly be back and would recommend Flapjacks. read more

*Sharing my experience in hopes of saving someone from future frustration. *I placed my order, paid & received a confirmation email. Easy! If only the rest of the experience could have gone that smoothly. *I wait because it said to allow 30-45 minutes. I get to the counter (which is awkwardly placed right beside the front door) and inform them that I was there to pick up my order placed online. "Oh, I heard the machine beep, but nothing came out. We don't have an online order." "Ok. I received a confirmation email & paid so what do we do about this?" No one knew what to do. I mean NO ONE. A server enters everything in the computer & gives me a total. I tell her that I've already paid for the food. I even pull up my online banking to show them the charge is a pending charge. They still want me to give my card. "I don't think I should have my card swiped again & have to file a dispute with my bank when you see the charge here." "Well, I can't give you the food or your money back, not knowing if we got the money for it. Just call your credit card company." Um, no... *The greeter, Dusty/Dustin, (I think was his name), seemed agitated & kept walking off to seat other customers. He seemed frustrated & at that point I was too. Finally one of the waitesses suggested calling the manager for a resolution. After being informed that they see the email & the pending transaction the manager informed them to just make the order & give me the food. I go outside to wait & eventually a server brings me my food. Crisis averted & all is right with the world, right? Nope... *I get home only to discover I'm missing an order of bacon & there's no syrup or butter for the pancakes. *Conclusion: ~Do NOT chance it by doing an online order! The machine appears to be faulty & there's no workaround for it. Call them instead! ~Check your order before leaving to ensure you get everything you paid for! ~The food I received was tasty so it's worth going. ~I don't blame the servers because I know they wanted to help. We stopped here on Father's day. The place was hopping, but we were sat immediately. We took a minute to look over the menu and placed our orders, The mexican omlette for the husbeastie and French Toast for me. It didn't take long for our food to get to us and when it came out it was delicious. Both of us cleaned our plates. The only thing I'll note is that the ac was broken and our waitress was too enamoured with another table's child to pick up our order which was in the window for a good 5 minutes before another waitress brought it to us. He did not write anything down, but told we were 3rd on the wait list with a joking "6-1/2 to 20-1/2 minute wait." Told to wait outside, he'd come get us. Began to see people who had arrived well after us walk in and stay in so 45 minutes after first check-in, we walk in from waiting outside to check on our status only to see more than half the tables ... empty. Man apologized, he "forgot about us in the rush." Keep a written list maybe? Also, must be only one cook in the kitchen. Wait once we ordered was another 25 minutes. And parts of the meals were not delivered until halfway through eating. Coffee cups went long periods without refills. This was our first visit. Since I last visited, under new ownership, this place is clean and inviting! I ordered an Egg White Mexican Omelette with jalapeños, salsa & sour cream on the side. The main reason on the jalapeños side was so I could taste the chorizo on it's own merit! When the order came, the jalapeños were in the omelette, no sore cream ever came, and and another server brought me cocktail sauce! I was able to separate and get a taste of the chorizo. I've tasted better. The "flapjacks" were light to my liking but nothing outside the ordinary. I need to taste the Sweet Potato Pancakes! They also have a large selection of toppings to add to the pancakes and waffles! The overall menu posted should satisfy most diners. My server, Linda, confirmed her order to the cook was correct, (he blew it) was a sweetie, and most attentive! Despite the miscues, which I consider minor, I enjoyed the omelette and will return with Gigi to get her expert opinion! :-) I also want to try the biscuits n gravy! Our first time there. Heard about your place. Comp coffee was a great idea since we were in a waiting list on a busy Sunday morning. (Approx wait was about 10). Male hostess was great (sorry I didn't get his name) Bonnie was great. Food was delicious. I noticed a waitress going to a table to drop off the ticket, she didn't say have a Nice Day, Come again or anything Maybe it was because the waitress was chewing food when she went to their table. I would hate to think because they were a black couple. When we got up to leave she was delivering food to a table still eating. I think very rude and you should give waitress a chance to eat. I wanted to share my experience at Flapjacks. This happened a few days ago, on a Sunday afternoon, after church my family and I stopped in to try this place. We had a 2 year old and a 9 month old with us. We were seated very quickly, as this is a rather small diner. Our 2 year old was very fussy. He was hungry, tired, cutting a tooth, and not feeling well. He didn't want to sit, so he kind of fought with us to sit and made some noise. A very old couple, seated plenty of tables away, interrupted me when I'm doing my best to get the toddler to calm down and says "Excuse me." ..."Bless his heart"... I thought she was going to offer some sort of distraction because she could see that we were all (there were 3 other adults with me) struggling to get our toddler to calm down. Then she says "Can you take him outside? He's being too loud." Now, I won't get into what went through my head but.. one of the members in my party grabbed both kids and left outside. After about 30 seconds I decided I had to say something to the 'lady' (and I use that term loosely). I really don't remember everything I said to her but, she should thank the good Lord I went to church that morning, so I didn't yell or curse, or even threaten her. I basically told her that she should eat outside or mind her business. After this encounter I walked out. Before I did, a different patron reassured me that they all had kids and know what it's like.. I was heated and ready to throw hands with an old woman, but I stayed outside and calmed myself down. I decided she wasn't going to win. So I took my fussy 2 year old back inside, hoping he would be even worse than before. Lucky for the woman he was actually in a much better mood...lol. But before I got inside the manager met me at the door and asked me if I was okay and what happened, and then he let me in. After I got inside and sat back down, every single staff person came up and apologized for what happened. I apologized if I made too much of a scene, they all assured me they didn't blame me and some said that they wouldn't blame me if I had made a bigger scene. One waitress even went to her car and brought some little toys in for our toddler, and also gave us some plastic bowls that belong to the restaurant for him to play with too. This spoke volumes to my family and I.... I really wish I would have got her name, but everyone was so kind to us, and made us feel better about being there. We were all so tempted to leave, but the way the staff made us feel, not only welcomed, but like they really wanted us to be there despite two fussy kiddos.. we couldn't leave after them opening their hearts to us. And boy am I glad we did stay! I personally got the spinach and feta omelette, it was huge! And so delicious! Everyone in our party loved what they order. And they were all huge portions. We definitely got our money's worth, and then some. It is very affordable. I would recommend everyone try this place. They will treat you like family with their genuine customer service! We were very surprised to have had a really great fish fry. We all tasted the fish tacos and these were very tangy and tasty, especially the deep-fried chips. I love fish tacos and these were outstanding. The fish fry platter came with fresh French fries and tasty homemade coleslaw and the portions were so huge I couldn't finish it. The staff is very friendly and the service excellent. They made us feel like we were 'family.' All items are very reasonably priced and delicious! read more

We were visiting from Colorado and was lucky to find Flapjacks. We had Dundee (I believe her name was) for a waitress who was absolutely wonderful and answered all of my questions without it seeming like a bother. The manager, Howie or Howard, came over and talked with us for quite a while since he had never met us before. He definitely knew everyone by name that came through the door and also those who were already seated.. He and Dundee made us feel very welcome and like long time friends.. The food was fantastic and the pancakes were to die for! We came back the next day and brought more family that were moving there so that they could experience the gem that we had found for breakfast. We will eat there every time we get to Florida!! If you have an hour to eat breakfast, then this is good place. We came on a Sunday which may have made the food to take so long to be served. It took several minutes to get the attention of staff to get seated. There were several people standing in line to try to pay their checks which is located at the hostess stand so we were in line with them. Regular customers and groups of people had their food come out of the kitchen first. We waited about 45 minutes for basic breakfasts. We will try the place again during the week but never again on Sunday. read more

Flapjacks was recommended to us by some locals when we moved here a year ago. It's now the ONLY" place we come for breakfast. Genuine people and fantastic service compliments the diner type home cooking. My favorite is corn beef hash w eggs. The hash is seasoned perfectly. The smothered biscuits is my wife's choice. Tasty biscuits and gravy w eggs. And of course flapjacks / pancakes on the side are equally tasty. Theeservice is top notch. What I noticed is that any waitress with a pot of coffee will top of your cup, regardless if you are her table or not. It doesn't get any better than this. read more
