What can I say.... Park Slope was missing a Steak House and here it is! The dry aged steaks here compete with the best Steakhouses in Manhattan! The truffle French fries are addicting, we even ordered more! They had calamari on the specials of the day menu and let me tell you, they were crisp, fried to perfection and the marinara was delicious. Went to Flatiron Restaurant for Sunday dinner. I would definitely come back for a steak, but I was impressed by the offerings I had and believe they will develop a signature style with time. Quality: An interesting menu with some solid items. The Applewood Pork Belly was a bit strange and not what I was expecting, but still good. The Wings were very tender and the Bone Marrow Special should be added to the main menu. Rather than a steak we selected the Prime-Angus Burger, which even with the added toppings kept the beef as the focus. We ordered a side of Truffle Fries, which were a bit of a dud, but the burger needed something to go with it. The highlight for me ended up being the excellent Cookie Chocolate Lava Cake dessert, so rich and tasty. Quantity: Good portion sizes, including the meaty burger, though it should come with a side. Value: $12 for the Applewood Pork Belly. $15 for the Bone Marrow Special. $13 for the Coleman Natural Wings. $18 for the Prime-Angus Burger. $12 for Truffle Fries. $8.50 for the Cookie Chocolate Lava Cake. Ambiance: Flatiron Restaurant is a relatively new steakhouse in Park Slope. Since it is so new it has yet to develop the character that often defines steak places. They have a very nice, yet sparsely decorated dining room. On the televisions they were playing classic movie scenes and for music it was traditional pop and jazz songs. They could use some curtains to add dimness, candles on each table, and some additional artwork to help set the mood better. Crowd: A few other guests having dinner on Sunday evening. I popped into Flatiron Restaurant after stumbling upon their review's. I took a seat at the bar and thought that I was on the set of the movie Goodfella's. I received a warm greeting from bartender Nicky. Nicky poured several samples of beer on tap, and two different types of wine. I settled for an IPA and a glass of Josh Cabernet. After perusing the menu I ordered the Mac n Cheese and the Wild Burger. The Mac n Cheese was fabulous and the Burger was even better. Excellent from start to finish. I was the first member of my group to arrive. So, sat at the bar to have a beer while waiting. Both for myself and for the other members as they arrived, the bar tender offered samples of the any of the draft beers we were considering. That is always such a classy (and very much appreciated) thing to do. Makes it so much easier to try new beers if you know you're not going to get stuck with a pint you don't like. Service continued to be great throughout. The food was delicious! The Signature Wagyu steak was so good!!! Tender and tasty!! We had calamari, truffle fries and cauliflower side dishes and they were all excellent. Well, of course I didn't eat the cauliflower 'cause, well, it's cauliflower. Passionate. The word to describe the owner/head chef. Very rare that you enter a restaurant and are greeted by a person so passionate about his craft. Came here for with my coworkers for our holiday party. We sampled a few of the small plates. I have never eaten a whole chicken wing before. I was able to eat ALL the meat off the bone. Not one piece of gristle or fat. No clue how he does it. The slab bacon melts in your mouth. It cuts with a fork. You can actually taste each ingredient he uses to marinate it. We had the French dip roast beef. Again the roast beef was so tender. Not chewy. Not stringy. The peppers used gave you just the right amount of heat without being over powering. It was my uncle's birthday, it was me and my brothers job to find a restaurant. We ended up with Flatiron Steakhouse. I don't regret the decision, I ordered the "Wild" Burger, My brother ordered the 22oz Ribeye to share with me and my mom. My uncle ordered a Ribeye as well. If you are going to offer a $140 dry aged porterhouse please don't serve it on a piping hot cast iron skillet. It's a gimmick. What was a medium rare steak turned into leather within a few minutes. The steak was also topped with a couple slabs of butter aggressively seasoned with fresh oregano that completely overwhelmed the steak. The Mac and cheese suffered a similar fate. Location is convenient but I'd recommend going to one of the many places in Manhattan where the same price will get you a top quality steak. The wine was good and reasonably priced. read more

This place is a little Park Slop gem. Amazing quality cuts cooked perfectly. It's hard to find a correct medium-rare in this city. The staff is awesome, friendly, and 5-star quality. It's a rather new establishment but easily surpasses a lot of the older steak houses in the city and best of all no gimmicks. I left feeling like I had a perfect meal for my birthday.
