I should have noticed that all the reviews were years old. I called about an issue with my car first thing in the morning. I started with explaining how I just moved to the area and how I use my car for work. I said that I was desperately looking for someone to look at my cooling system because I may have air blocked somewhere and my car was overheating without triggering the thermostat. I said I was sure I just needed a proper bleed. I finished with asking if it was anyway possible they could see my car today, as I need it to be able to work. CJ then cuts me off and says, "well you should have just started with that." I heard what he said but I didn't pay it any mind because I figured he's just a grumpy mechanic. Way to fit that stereotype, CJ. I also understand that people are busy, so I was trying to be quick. But what really was unsettling was when he asked me if i changed it myself. I said that I did and went to add more info, then be blatantly cuts me off after three words and says, "I just needed to know if you changed it yourself, sorry I'm not trying to be rude." Are you sure about that CJ? Because you don't really have to try with how condescending you were from the start. Then he said, "well you're supposed to change the thermostat with every coolant flush". Ok, great. I'm obviously leaning so maybe keep your condescending tone to yourself? Then he does what EVERY shop does and says they can get me in and "hopefully someone cancels but there's no guarantee". Did you not remember that I said I needed it done today? You could have avoided talking to me in the beginning if you just said that you won't be able to see my car today. That's all I wanted to know. I understand that it's practically impossible to get a shop to look at your car the day of. I'm not stupid. But I figured there wouldn't be harm to at least ask. After all, I was looking for a shop I can trust to service my car often, because as I said, I rely on my car for work and I'm new to town. That explanation didn't make much sense to me since the car had no leak at all before the incident. Now I had previously done a stellar review for this business, when I had my truck worked on…read more However, after the first of the year, I was having issues with my primary vehicle so I was needed to get service done on that one as well. So before I took my car to Front Range Motors, I decided to put them to the test (what better time than any right). So I had an idea, that it may be the tensioner on my motor that could be causing the noise that I was hearing but wasn't sure quite sure. I took my car to Firestone, which was right down the street, and paid for their basic service for inspection (which I think was around $70). After having the car for a couple of days, they advised me that I would need to get my valves adjusted, and that it could also be my timing belt, but not sure at the moment, with a hefty repair bill (I wont mention the price, because your vehicle could vary from mine). However, if I chose to get everything done right then and there, they would knock off 10% of the bill, then he offered the Firestone Charge with six months same as cash, if I wanted to open a charge account. I kindly declined at the moment, and advised them that I would have to get back with them. I then called Front Range Motors, spoke to one of the nice ladies in the office and made an appointment and dropped off my car to get looked at. I received a call the next morning, and they had advised me that it was in fact the tensioner for the timing belt, and gave me a price that was approximately $600.00 less than what Firestone quoted me (less the valves adjustment). I then asked if the noise had anything to do with adjusting the valves, and the answer was "no", that it was the tensioner for the timing belt, and the timing belt would need to be replaced along with the normals that going along with that replacement. I decided to go with Front Range Motors, because obviously the price was less, but they didn't try and sell me services that was not needed, and they knew what needed to be done, right from the get go. So, when the car was finished they called to let me know that they also found a broken engine mount that needed to be replaced (I was thinking, ahhhh man, here we go). I then asked how much extra that was the bill going to be, and she said nothing (just like before). When giving out the quote for repairs, they always quote a little on the high side, in the event that extra needs to be done (like this time). I still ended up paying a little less than the original quote. I highly suggest taking your vehicle to Front Range Motors for your automotive repairs. I have taken two vehicles there, and till continue to use them moving forward. They are honest as the day is long, and they wont do any unnecessary repairs on your vehicle, if they are not needed. Front Range Motors, YOU GUYS ROCK! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Went in for a safety recall…read more I did love the video the tech sent; it was great how the technician explained things in general about the health of the vehicle. Kai (sp?) and Mercedes at the service desk are great, wonderful personal customer service, at the service desk. The challenges: Communication. I left multiple voice messages over several days for the service center, requesting a return call to schedule a service. I never received a phone call back. I brought my vehicle in for a safety recall, and when the technician sent me the video inspection of the vehicle, he didn't mention that the safety recall issue had been fixed let alone what he did to fix it. I received two different texts from two different phone numbers that had texted me about my vehicle being ready for pick up or asking me if I wanted to complete a $450 wheel service. I replied to both numbers, asking to confirm the safety recall had been fixed, no replies to my text. I then attempted to call the service desk and kept being put into voicemail, but I know voicemails aren't returned. The safety recall letter mentioned that the dealership may be able to provide me transportation. I work 1.7 miles down Ken Pratt Blvd. I was offered a loaner car. It didn't make sense to me to borrow one of the loaner cars for a 4 mile round-trip to for the loaner to sit in my work place parking lot and not be available to another customer. Each time I have come in I've used Lyft for the 1.7 miles to my office and the 1.7 miles back to the dealership. A friendly customer service ride would've really been the shining star of customer service. I'm grateful for the free oil changes that I received when I purchased my vehicle and that McDonald Mazda North was able to do those for me. But I won't be back now, unless for a safety recall, now that I've used up the free oil changes. I'll be going to a smaller more personal mechanic. Y'all have a business to run and you have certain goals for your business. Your goals and my customer service experience hopes just don't align.

I couldn't hear the knock but I was going to believe them, just figured they knew what they were doing and they're a reputable shop. I was about to sell it to a junkyard today and again I couldn't hear the knock so I figured id get a second opinion from another shop in boulder. (I know this should have been the first thing I did lol) Turns out the engine was completely fine, it needed a new accelerator pedal sensor and that was throwing the car into limp mode. I had already bought a new car and I just fixed my old one for about $100 and ten minutes of work; because I trusted them and didn't get a second opinion I'm stuck with two functional cars! I have a hard time believing they purposely misdiagnosed the problem to try and buy the car off me for significantly less than it was worth, but who knows. I'm really just confused by the whole thing, I thought I was going crazy trying to hear a knock in a perfectly healthy engine. The one thing I do know is that I wouldn't recommend this shop. Could have been an honest mistake, or there could have been some malicious intent, who knows. Regardless of the reason it happened they f***ed up and the whole thing has been a massive, unnecessary inconvenience.
