Now I had previously done a stellar review for this business, when I had my truck worked on. However, after the first of the year, I was having issues with my primary vehicle so I was needed to get service done on that one as well.
So before I took my car to Front Range Motors, I decided to put them to the test (what better time than any right).
So I had an idea, that it may be the tensioner on my motor that could be causing the noise that I was hearing but wasn't sure quite sure.
I took my car to Firestone, which was right down the street, and paid for their basic service for inspection (which I think was around $70). After having the car for a couple of days, they advised me that I would need to get my valves adjusted, and that it could also be my timing belt, but not sure at the moment, with a hefty repair bill (I wont mention the price, because your vehicle could vary from mine). However, if I chose to get everything done right then and there, they would knock off 10% of the bill, then he offered the Firestone Charge with six months same as cash, if I wanted to open a charge account. I kindly declined at the moment, and advised them that I would have to get back with them.
I then called Front Range Motors, spoke to one of the nice ladies in the office and made an appointment and dropped off my car to get looked at. I received a call the next morning, and they had advised me that it was in fact the tensioner for the timing belt, and gave me a price that was approximately $600.00 less than what Firestone quoted me (less the valves adjustment). I then asked if the noise had anything to do with adjusting the valves, and the answer was "no", that it was the tensioner for the timing belt, and the timing belt would need to be replaced along with the normals that going along with that replacement.
I decided to go with Front Range Motors, because obviously the price was less, but they didn't try and sell me services that was not needed, and they knew what needed to be done, right from the get go.
So, when the car was finished they called to let me know that they also found a broken engine mount that needed to be replaced (I was thinking, ahhhh man, here we go). I then asked how much extra that was the bill going to be, and she said nothing (just like before). When giving out the quote for repairs, they always quote a little on the high side, in the event that extra needs to be done (like this time). I still ended up paying a little less than the original quote.
I highly suggest taking your vehicle to Front Range Motors for your automotive repairs. I have taken two vehicles there, and till continue to use them moving forward.
They are honest as the day is long, and they wont do any unnecessary repairs on your vehicle, if they are not needed.
