Place was awesome. My wife and I wanted to try this out because we liked their Alpharetta location and we were not disappointed. Got a table quick, server was friendly, and ambiance is good here. Very homey feel. We got the crab dip to start and liked that you can actually taste the crab in it. Lol I know it sounds silly to say that but lots of places either put in a lil crab and lots of the fake crab as filler or will put in more cream cheese/cheese as filler. This one was excellent. Wife got the crawfish po boy and it was over stuffed with fried crawfish, the sauce that comes with it is amazing too. Not too heavy and the spicing is amazing. Even the hand cut fries that came with it were good, which says a lot. Usually fries come as an after thought but these were well made. I got the catfish Atchafalaya and it was amazing. First off, if you don't like catfish you will actually like this. The blackening and cooking of it is perfect, they work perfectly with the etouffee and dirty rice. The slaw mix/pico on top added this acidic layer that everything needed to meld perfectly together. Was a huge portion and I will be eating it the next 3 meals for sure. We love to support local! This is a great addition to the food scene in d'town Canton. We of course think the house is precious and love the historic vibe. We tried this place at lunch and the flatland salad was delish but there was a mistake on our bill. We went last night for dinner and shared the story With our awesome server Brian and he immediately took care of it! NO ?'s ASKED, he even got the super friendly manager Ryan to come over and he too agreed, we will make it right. And boy did they! We were super shocked they cared enough to make it right even after the fact! Ok, so you guys get it the CUSTOMER SERVICE is extremely important to them! Enough about that, let's get back to the awesome service and more importantly the AWESOME CAJUN FOOD! We are from Louisiana and this place "hits!" I already told you the salad was amazing with fried shrimp and DARK roux gumbo! This night we enjoyed cocktails and split the seafood basket with oysters, they split the meal for us ($2 charge) and it was perfect enough for two. The shrimp taste like shrimp and fried "light", the catfish was flakey and white and the oysters were full size and you could taste the oyster not just all the fried batter. The place was packed, but everyone came by to check on us. Ryan took care of dessert which was a delicious beignets with marmalade. Yummy! This place was so much fun, the businesses off it all, awesome service and amazing food - happy they are in Canton! Can't wait to go back bc we know Brian and Ryan will take good care of us! So cool. Owners Tyler and Courtney just opened their 2nd Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou on 07/06/26 (first one in Alpharetta) and I'm so glad it was right in downtown Canton. A charming old home with lots of rooms and many tables. Decorated in NOLA motifs you'll think you were actually on Bourbon St. The service was exceptional through out the dining experience. They were always checking on your dining needs. I started off with a great traditional favorite with a very tasty twist. A Creole Pecan Old Fashion with 4 Roses, creole pecan bitters, an orange peel, filthy cherry and topped with candied pecans. Well slap my bottom and make me another! Lol There were so many amazing menu items it was hard to choose but I finally settled on the Shrimp Andouille with a tangy barbeque shrimp, grilled andouille sausage, red beans & rice Nola style. "Laissez les bon temps rouler"! And the beignets aren't just beignets oh heavens no. They are stuffed with Praline and a Carmel drizzle topped with whipped cream! A huge covered front porch that's calling my name. I can't wait for the cooler weather and sit out there with a bucket of shrimp and a couple cold ones. Best of luck to Courtney and Taylor. I arrived just before 5PM on an August Thursday and was greeted and seated immediately. There were only a few patrons scattered throughout the various dining rooms. Within 6 minutes I'd received my drink and placed my order. The meal arrived quickly and my entree was the Shrimp Po Boy with toasted French bread with an excellent crunch. It was topped with big plump shrimp atop diced tomatoes and pickle slices. The side of "swamp sauce" is a very spicy remoulade. Normally I can take food quite spicy but this was all heat and no flavor so I'm glad it's served on the side. The sandwich came with a generous serving of hand cut fries which were also perfectly cooked and tasty. And for an additional side I had the mushroom and corn risotto which was excellent. read more

Great food, great service, and great environment! Really enjoyed our first visit here and excited to come back. Staff were super friendly and attentive. This is a place worth making a reservation. They have inside, outside patio, and bar seating. The menu offers a decent variety of options. I had the spicy blackened chicken sandwich with fries and it was very good! We also had hushpuppies as an appetizer that were quite good. Others in our group had fish tacos, shrimp and catfish, and a salad. All of which everyone enjoyed and looked tasty. Definitely go give this place a try when in the area! read more

Food was pretty good. Maybe not quite the same quality as the one in Alpharetta. But Canton is closer to us, so we'll probably be back to this one. I like the building in Canton better. Parking is about the same, somewhat limited, so get there early. One negative is the Trout could have used a little more seasoning. We also got the Catfish Atchaflaya. Excellent cajun food served in a converted old house on main street. The service was excellent on our visit. I had crawfish etouffe and my wife has the fried seafood platter. Both were top notch. The ambiance was upscale and very enjoyable. read more

kitchen was slow, waited over 15 minutes for gator bites that were small for gator bites, and for our entrees, 45 minutes after receiving the gator bites. The salmon was under cooked with no seasoning, shrimp andouille was fair and the crawfish etoufee was just ok (I reheated the etoufee the next day and it was better meaning the dish had not simmered long enough initially). For a Cajun restaurant, it should have been outstanding. The waitress was fine, refilling our drinks 3 times during the course of the meal since we waited so long. For the price, this restaurant is going to have to step it up a lot to compete with all the other ones on Main Street in Canton. read more

Today was our first time to Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou. The cup of gumbo and New Orleans barbecue shrimp were fantastic! We had the Cajun shrimp pasta and Catfish Pontchartrain. Both entrees were excellent. The beignets were a great sweet treat for dessert. The service was excellent! We look forward to going back to try out some new dishes. We (a group of 5) had dinner there this evening. The food and service were awesome! I had the fried shrimp & Catfish basket and my wife had the Cajun pasta. Both were really good and the portions were large. We both took some home. The AC was struggling and as tough as it was for us, the servers had to work in it all afternoon and evening. Our server and all the other staff were so friendly and helpful. Overall great experience! Will definitely be back. One suggestion: considering the name, I would recommend they offer a signature bourbon cocktail. read more

Make Reservations!!! BIG HIT for the tastebuds!! Anyone in Canton who may miss great Cajun style food from LA, you can find it now in downtown Canton Ga!! First a big shout out to Brian the GM for making the suggestion to come Thursday night! Also thanks so much to Maegan, Gabriel, and Rachel for making our dining experience top notch!! Thanks to Maegan we ran the gambit of mixed drinks and then entrees so we did spend a bit more than an average meal because we wanted a sampling of everything. We had the Hot Honey Peach Margarita, Blueberry Lemon Drop, Don Q Coconut Mojito, and a Tito's w Cranberry made to order. Then on to the entrees!! GUMBO is a must! Rue was perfect! If you want to sweat a little try the Jambalaya with shrimp and Andouille you'll need some ice tea ready to go. A milder choice that has loads of flavor was the Catfish Pontchartrain which was my favorite. The red mountain trout was also top notch. So glad Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou picked Canton for their newest location. Cant wait to get back to this quaint restaurant inside one of Cantons oldest grand homes and try some different items in the near future and say hey to Brian, Maegan, Gabriel, and Rachel!
