Every time I try and buy sneakers here there is always an extremely long wait. Prices are probably on par with the market, but if I'm willing to pay $$150-$175, I feel like there should be more staff (and space) to handle more than two customers at a time. I've walked out more than once after waiting 10-15 minutes to work with someone to find my shoe size. I want to support local, but there's a point where I give up and decide to buy online. read more

Great place to shop if you wear average sizes--womens 7-9 B, or mens 8-11 D. For average sized feet you can actually buy shoes here. If you wear anything above or under the average size, or if you have wide feet, save yourself some time and avoid Fleet Feet Aptos and buy shoes over the hill or online. Fleet Feet Aptos has NO selection of sizes, and is a small town store only for people with very average sized feet. If you have small or large or wide feet--don't waste your time here, you just will not find anything to fit you...! P.S. They measure your foot digitally with a little podium that has 10 or 12 cameras, and then they go over it with you in detail. They also send you the report. They fit me in shoes that are perfect for my feet. Finally shoes with enough cushion for my flat feet that stop me from falling to far forward. My balance is now back where it should be, more of my heels than the ball of my foot. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Most shoes range around 100 to 130 or so. Above and Beyond!!!! The manager of this store gave me her FULL attention (for at least 45 minutes) to make sure I got fit into the exact perfect shoes for my gait and my body. I'm new to running, so it was especially beneficial to have Amber Melville (the amazing manager!) give me such great education, careful consideration, encouragement, etc. She went above and beyond, gave me a pair of discounted socks and I even got a 10% discount just for being a new customer. Fleet Feet is locally owned by Russ and Tina and they along with their staff are the best! They have a great selection of running gear, shoes, hydration gear, socks, fuel for long runs, hats, sports bras, the list goes on.. They go out of their way to fit you in the best shoes, I know - I wear a women's 12.5 narrow! They also have amazing running programs for beginners and seasoned runners. On top of that they put on local races that raise money for local charities, schools, kids programs, etc. I would be amiss if I didn't mention that Russ makes the best pancakes in town right there at the store many weekends! read more

This place is sketchy. The put an article in the paper for their so called weight loss program. They registered four or five times as many people (on-line so they knew the numbers) as could fit in to their room. It was a nightmare. A packed room and another crowd outside the door while the owners chuckled and joked. Not a healthy or productive atmosphere and made me realize that these people were incompetent and possibly dangerous to run any kind of program that deals with health. They sell sneakers!!!! They have no business running a weight loss program. Plus, that aren't even competent to organize it. Oh wait, I take that back. They were very good at collecting everyone's money. read more

Under new ownership this store is now even better! The owner is great and is hands on to assist you in finding the best shoe for your foot possible- I am a bit disappointed in the selection and colors, however, nonetheless the shoe was exactly what my feet needed regardless of the look of the shoe. I am also impressed with the rewards program they offer- it does entice you to want to go back to them to spend your money there rather than a footlocker or any other atletic store, because you know you are reaping the benefits by shopping there as well. I have bought countless running shoes, and apparel from here over the years. I run a fair amount, and always want new gear to help keep myself motivated. They measure your feet for width, length, arch, and check out your foot strike which is way beyond your normal Foot Locker morons. They have fit me for all my running shoes, and kept my feet without pain/blisters. Very knowledgable staff, and reasonable prices considering all the online competition these days. I am so impressed by the customer service here. If you are serious about running, I could not imagine getting your shoes anywhere else. Full personalized foot assessment, and everyone who works there knows their shoes. The first pair of shoes ended up making my feet numb after a few runs, I stopped by strait from a run without a reciept or even the box that the shoes came in. I explained what was happening, and without a blink, did another assessment, and fit me for another shoe, which was a different brand, and even different size than I would have ever tried. They exchanged the shoes strait from my feet and I literally walked out with a new pair that are awesome. I will be a lifetime customer. read more

I still really really enjoy this store. I came in to talk with someone about these awesome blisters I get from my current running shoes. I'm a barefoot, minimalist runner, so the right shoe is really important. I spoke with Jessica (?) who told me it was most likely my socks, and recommended a pair. I already had purchased the socks some time ago, but she was right! I ran in my fancy socks, and no blisters! She also helped me out with trying on some different shoes, though I didn't like them for my specific needs. They also have an awesome selection of clothes and sports bras! It has always been a bit farther of a drive for me, but well worth it. I have never had a bad experience here and find the staff to be knowledgable and genuinely helpful. Each time I've been there they have gone above and beyond to make sure I got the shoe I needed. I think this place is as good as it gets. I find their shoes to be top of the line and the service is very helpful. When I went they talked to me about what I was going to use the shoes for, had me try on multiple pairs and in general apparently know a lot about shoes. In addition, the shoes I bought, while expensive, ended up being both better for my feet and also cheaper than the less expensive options, because I would have had to replace my Fleet Feet shoes about 2-3 times if I had gone with the cheapies. I'll be going back to this business again the next time I need some athletic shoes. read more
