Quality/Quantity - I own too many of these types of shirts... Yet, I continue to buy them... So sorry, but forgot the friendly sales person's name who owns 34 of these shirts. We hung out (while my wife shopped at all the other stores) and discussed all the shirts we had, lol. It's not a competition, but he wins. He also shared the amazing history of the owner and their businesses. Like the sports theme shirts, but again, I already have too many. And I actually do not wear my sports theme shirts often enough. Have not been going to games or sports bars. Atmosphere - Decent size and location. They also own the business next door. Open 7 days a week from 10am or 10:30am to 6pm. Plenty of metered paid street parking. Service - 6 stars, a really friendly sales person. Very personable. Please take care of the people that take care of you. Price - Reasonably priced. IMHO I first walked into the shoe store adjacent to Big Kahuna and checked out their latest Vionic styles. Vionics are the only shoes/sandals that I can wear due to my plantar fasciitis issues. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size, but the friendly and helpful clerk clued me into their sister store, Big Kahuna, which had some sale Vionics available! I quickly walked next door! They had a wall full of sandals, including my favorite Vionics to choose from. I quickly picked out any sale sandals in my size, tried them on, and purchased two pair! New Vionics usually run about $89, but I paid $45 and $65 for my two pair! Rest assured, I will make it a point to visit Big Kahuna every time I'm in Capitola! read more

Yeah, shirts can be pricy (think Tommy Bahama little cheaper though)but appears to be great quality and the men's short sleeved shirts with various embroidered designs are super cool and unique! They didn't have the correct size for my husband so we'll check back in a few months. They also carry quite a bit of nice beachy T-shirt's that are reasonably priced too. My husband ended up buying a hat for now. Very friendly and helpful guy that assisted us yesterday late afternoon. read more

My boyfriend and I have been to the Big Kahuna twice and both times the guys working were great! The second time we had to exchange-return one of the shirts my boyfriend had bought. The guy working gave us an awesome exchange with a hugh discount, mainly because this was the only one in the size we could find and it was an A's Hawaiian shirt. It is the perfect gift for an A's fan. The store was fun to look at everything, so visit the store and look around you wont be disappointed they have something for everyone.
