I usually go to the Encino store and have for years now, but after checking online, they did not have any of the Altra shoes in stock I was looking to purchase. But the Burbank location had multiple in the size and color I was looking for according to the website. So I drove 30 mins And was planning on buying 2 or 3 pairs as I needed them for work. I was greeted by a young woman and I asked to see the 3 different Altras in the size and color that was available online. She says "I don't think we have those in that size or color." I said, " strange, your website said you did have all of them in stock." She tells me "you probably were looking at the wrong store. It happens all the time." Very politely, I said "No, it was definitely this store because I would have not driven 30 mins to come here. Can you double check please?" she literally rolled her eyes, and said yeah let me go check in the back". She came back a few seconds later and said "Yeah, We don't have them." Ok, so I asked what they had in my size and black or black and white. She brought me 1 pair of shoes and that's all she could suggest. The Altras that I came in for are zero drop shoes, and I said it doesn't necessarily have to be zero drop. I wear all kinds of different shoes. I just wanted something comfortable for work. She said that's all we have. I am now a bit frustrated and say very calmly, "it would be really nice for future if your website lined up with the inventory online." And again , eye roll, full annoyance and she says " well we are a small store and thats FleetFeets issue, not us." Very perplexed, confused and now fully agitated, I asked her name,"Rebecca", and thanked her for her time and left. Probably the worst sales experience I have ever had, especially when I was planning on dropping $300-$500 like I do once a year. Your shoes aren't cheap- we pay for the service too! She literally did not even try to sell me a shoe!!! I think this young lady needs a lot more training As well as to not take what a customer says as a personal attack. Maybe I reminded her of someone she disliked, but it was very strange interaction and left a very bad impression unfortunately. I have been a loyal FleetFeet customer for 3 years now, but after this, I think I am going to REI, who gladly took my $500 and upsold me on shoes I'd of never thought to try. read more

I was a bit skeptical on coming here, but after talking to the employees, all skepticism left my mind. I had Edwin to help me look around for different shoes, and explain why they're different and how they're supposed to benefit you when running. At Fleet Feet, they have a machine that scans your feet, to help find a more suitable shoe for you, its pretty neat and informative. I would love to come here more often, but thats a 30 mile drive each time. Please do note that sometimes they can get pretty busy. I visited Fleet Feet with my cousin when she was looking for new running shoes. Dan and Rachel provided excellent customer service. Rachel asked my cousin questions about her exercise preferences (gym versus running outside) to get an idea of the type of shoes she should be considering. She also took measurements of her feet on this machine that provided awesome 3D scans of her feet. My cousin tried on 3 different pairs of shoes and was allowed to test them by jogging down the block. Even though I wasn't looking for shoes, Dan was available to answer my questions about the types of shoes that should be used for specific activities. There is an awesome massage chair in the store you can use. They also have a handheld massage machine that you can use to target specific places on your body. read more

Rude AF. I walked in and all the employees were so heavily invested in their customers (which is a positive) that they didn't so much as welcome me in the store. 3:3 ratio of customers to employees and no one could look up and say hello and welcome? I've not been in a store where people could have appeared more disinterested in helping me if they tried. After standing around for five minutes, wandering, looking at items patiently, still no one acknowledged my existence. I had to interject between an employee and customer by saying "do I need to make an appointment?" Just so someone could freaking acknowledge that I walked thru the front door. The man said "no" I said "ok do you have any idea about how long it'll be before someone can help me?" (I have a baby waiting for me and this was a rare moment I was able to leave the home). He replied "no I don't really". Stunned at his genuine lack of interest in helping me--I walked out. No one said hello nor goodbye. As if I were a ghost. So completely contrary to my expectations that this was a major blow. I have intense plantars fasciitis and came here looking for help and no one even looked up to say hello. I appreciate a h salesperson's knowledge and thorough explanations of recommendations. They do a 3-D scan of your feet and watch you walk to get an understanding of where/how your feet pressure is applied. When I walked in, Rebecca greeted me with the biggest smile on the planet. She was the sweetest most knowledgeable person. It was so nice and refreshing in such a world today. Somebody was standing in front of the sign in board and I did not see it when I walked in as a result, I was never called on and I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for somebody to help me not knowing that this place had a sign in sheet because somebody was standing in front of it when I got there, when I said something it was like a too bad so sad deal. I was in the market for some new shoes because I was sick of my Nike Free narrow toe box and raised heel. After looking at Lems and Vivo Barefoot, I settled on Altra. Fleet Feet is among the very few retailers who sell these shoes in the area. When I saw they do 3D foot and gait analysis, I decided to drop by. This was so much better than chancing an online order and not getting sized correctly. I briefly spoke with Mackenzie on the phone before my visit to confirm stock. Upon entering the store, Mackenzie was there to size me up and brought out several Altra models. The shoes were excellent, even with custom orthotics, and just what I needed. Mackenzie made my drive from West Hollywood to Burbank well, well worthwhile and guided me patiently and knowledgeably throughout the whole process. I happily bought a pair of the Altra Escalante 2.5 and some upgraded socks. I wish I could get the foot pressure analysis emailed to me too, and I wish the store had a treadmill to test shoes in their most critical moments: sprinting and running. It would've been great if Fleet Feet carried a narrow selection of cross trainers too, since I'm doing more sprinting, weights and HIIT than standard jogging these days. The Altra Solstice XT would've gotten a try on and maybe a purchase from me had it been carried by the store. Overall, I strongly recommend Fleet Feet and will be back. They care and know what they're talking about. My gratitude and thanks belong with Mackenzie. The foot scanning tech is so good I learned new things about my feet and will be sharing with my podiatrist. They even carry Super Feet insoles in wide width sizes.
