Unbelievably patient -especially for non-runner like me. Knowledgeable? Oh yeah. They look at your old shoes (bring them with you!) watch you walk (barefoot), have you stand up/sit down, etc. They listen to you & what you want. Are you a walker, runner, cross country hiker, or none of the above? Do you have problems with your feet/shoes? Then they bring you shoe after shoe (after shoe!) until you find one that fits you the best, period. They watch you walk inside the store (carpeted), and outside on the sidewalk (concrete) to see how it feels. No sales pitch. No pressure. No "I'll be right back" and then the salesperson disappears into the stock room... You get one-on-one attention from people that know their ****. And you know what? You sit on a chair, and THEY SIT ON THE FLOOR so they can look/ touch/ examine your feet. You tell me the last time you had someone at Foot Locker do that. read more

Fleet Feet ROCKS!!!! I agreed to run a half marathon with my husband this year and had no idea what I was getting myself into. The only time I ever ran to anything was to a sale at Saks! I found Fleet Feet on Groupon and signed up for the Long Beach Marathon Training group. Not only was I wearing the wrong type of running shoe, my stride and form was all wrong. Trey (the owner) really takes the time to teach and educate you to become a better runner (in my case teach me how to run) and avoid injuries. Fleet Feet offers more than great products! I just ran my first race EVER! I ran in the Los Angeles Marathon, 26.2 miles. I joined a charity team, CATS- Center for Assault Treatment Services. They joined up with Fleet Feet in Encino. I trained with the charity team and this store for 6 months, three times a week. I absolutely fell in love with this running store, the people that work there and work with them, and the products I was introduced to. I got one of those cheesy water belts for long runs which actually is super comfortable! It hold gels and salt pills and whatever else I needed race day like gum, chapstick, sunscreen, etc. Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any questions. I was never intimidated or embarrassed. I love going to their Fun Runs on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm which is open to the public! Yoga follows at 8:30pm and is based on donations. COME! read more

I had a bad heel pain from a pinched nerve and went in on a Sunday afternoon. it was near closing time. I went in limping on my right food and explained what shoe type I was recommended. the sales staff accommodated me in 15 minutes and I was out of there with the best wide shoe I could have had. My husband has super narrow feet and therefore has a lot of trouble buying any kind of footwear. So we finally drove out to the valley after finding that all the local westside stores didn't have anything for his feet. We could have ordered narrow shoes in his size (11 men), but would have had to pay up front for different sizes/brands to try. At Phidippides, they had many different shoes in stock for him to try. After having an intern who didn't know what pronation was wait on me at the usual suspect large chain, I asked my chiropractor to recommend a place to get running shoes and he suggest Fleet Feet. They exceeded my expectations. they took the time to measure each of my feet and watch me walk and asked what I liked/didn't like about the shoes I wore in. they brought out 4 great pairs and patiently put my insoles into each, back and forth until i found one i liked. When I was done, they did the same for a workout bra. After a week the shoes I bought were hurting my feet. They accepted them back for an exchange and two people, one of them the owner, worked on getting me the perfect pair. They were patient, hard-working, and knowledgeable throughout. Jeff, the General Manager, provides exceptional service and excellent products. This store custom finds shoes for you by observing your jog. Jeff found that I needed a shoe with good support and proceeded to find six or seven shoes with different styles all having the support I needed. He gave good information about good jogging form and cadence to maximize my efforts. As I heard other sales rep. help other customers, they all seemed very knowledgeable, customer service-oriented and kind. Jennifer helped me buy the right apparel and she was also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This store specifically caters to the runner -- from novice to marathon. Their prices are also reasonable for the quality they provide, selling reliable and top of the line shoe products. The shoe prices I gathered was about $120-$150. Best store for sneakers, socks, energy gels, hats -- I have gotten it all at fleet feet. I love this place! I started running a few years ago and was intimidated to even go in the store, but I did. An employee helped me with trying on lots of different shoes. The guy was so patient and helpful! I got a nice pair of Brooks and have been running, improving and getting stronger ever since. Now I have even joined in a few of their community training runs. So fun. I visited this store after having a not so good experience at the Burbank one, mainly because that store for some reason hires "actresses" that prefer to talk to you about themselves rather than really fitting you. One of the Burbank employees even offered her services to be my personal trainer which I thought was a little off and unprofessional. Maybe because their too close to Hollywood? Yeah, so if I could give negative stars I would. My sister, who had just purchased $150 walking shoes from the store 2 weeks before, took me over to Fleet Feet because I was in the market for new running shoes. Inside there is a lady with a cute silver streak in her hair helping a customer and a gentleman behind the counter checking out a customer. A lady was waiting to be helped when we walked in. There was a young lady who was going back and forth from the stock room, then would just stand in the middle of the store. She wasn't checking if the lady before me needed help and she would just stand around me and pretend to straighten socks on the hooks. After 5 minutes, the lady who was there before me left. There was a blonde guy who came back on the floor, went behind the counter and proceeded to have a conversation with the young lady who was avoiding customers. Really? That's ok, I'll take my business elsewhere. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Bad customer service. I got burned for supporting a local business. I went here to buy arch supports and found a pair that worked for me. After looking them up online I saw that they are more expensive in store but since they did help me I purchased them through Fleet Feet. A couple months later I noticed they were wearing poorly and already had a hole in them. I called and was told to bring them in and they would swap them no problem. When I came to the store I was told differently. They refused to do the swap and told me that since I had them for a couple months that I should expect this kind of wear. I was told that shoes only last 6 months and insoles since I wear them everyday will last less. When I purchase them I was told they would last me two years. I will swap the product through the manufacturer and will not be returning to the store with their bait and switch practices. read more

We had amazing service at Fleet Feet. We spent about an hour and a half having my daughters feet evaluated and fitted for new orthotics and sneakers. We had one on one service the entire time and they even cut the orthotics to fit her new shoes. My physical therapist recommended Fleet Feet and I can see why. read more

The sales staff are knowledgeable and patient. I have been having calf problems while training for a half marathon, and the staff had several suggestions to help me work through the injury. The stories well stocked, and I was able to try 5 different high end shoes to alleviate the strain I was feeling in my lower calves. The prices are full retail, but well worth it, when you consider the service provided. Fleet Feet has really changed from the old days when it was Phidippides - and in a good way. The store is bright, open spaced, lots of interesting merchandise (and always lots of new products to check out). I'm not a runner but I find the store very useful and have bought a variety of things there including sports bras, foam roller, massage balls, ankle support, and NUUN electrolyte tablets (they have the largest assortment I've seen at any store). The staff is well-trained and great at customer service. I've always found it difficult to find a properly fitting and comfortable sports bra - so I've stayed away from them for years until I was recently fitted at Fleet Feet. I ended up buying three Moving Comfort bras that work with me, not against me, when I do yoga, hike, or play tennis. I'm a plus-sized woman, so I was relieved I could find my size in their sports bras - they really have a huge selection. I recently took their free foam roller class (taught by the owner Trey) and bought a new foam roller there that I like a LOT more than the old style one I had that was collecting dust. They have a HUGE supply of Superfeet - I just wish they did custom fits there. They keep track of your spending and once you spend $150, you get $15 towards anything in the store. And they always have some cool sale deals on older merchandise. My friend took their free yoga class and had good things to say about it. There's also plentiful parking at Rubio Plaza where they're located. The location is great for me too because Office Depot and Centinela Feed are next door and I can get some of my other errands done. I had such a disappointing experience recently. I had been buying shoes here for about 5 years and 6 mos ago I moved to the OC. I received an email about the black friday sale and thought it would be worth a trip as I was due for new shoes. I called an associate who was very helpful last time and asked if they had the shoes I last purchased. She said yes - same size, make model etc. So, I made my purchase over the phone because they would not hold sale items...fine....ps all sales are final...fine - loved the shoes I had before. I came by the next day and brought a friend who also ended up buying a pair of shoes. I asked if they would honor the additional discount for 2 pairs (60%) instead of treating our purchases like separate transactions at 50% off. They said no. My sale was final the day before. And they are totally within their right to do that, but for $5 they would have had a happy loyal customer come up from the OC 1 or 2x per year to grab shoes as well as the brand new customer I brought to the store...and anyone else I bring with me. Instead we felt unappreciated, like my efforts to stay loyal are not worth $5 and won't be back. The best part is that I did not get the same shoe I purchased last time - I was given a wide size this time. I have narrow feet so can't do anything with these useless pieces of rubber. Darlene, the manager was super friendly the moment I stepped into the store. She didn't push to sell the shoes to me, but just wanted me to find the best fit and most comfortable shoes. She was very patient and caring- helping me with the many pairs of shoes that I tried on, giving me a detailed explanation of how the shoe works, and even giving me input on which color looked best on me. This is the only place I will get my running shoes. At this place they will ACTUALLY get a shoe that fits your foot, not just something generic. They even take you outside to watch you run to make sure you are getting the best fitting shoe possible. At times it is very busy but I don't mind waiting for the great service. All of people who work there a quite knowledgeable on running and wont mind answering any of your questions you have to throw at them. I came in here today after being referred here by my podiatrist to get my feet properly fitted and some advice on what to look for in getting new shoes. I am by no means a runner or even that athletic but after coming here and being helped by Mike and given so much input and advice I actually want to get more in to shape! I had my feet fitted and tried on some different running shoes and I found a pair that suited my quite well and helped with my moderately severe over planation but I just wasn't ready to quite fork out money on athletic shoes quite yet. However, I mentioned the pain I get in my feet and knees and they showed me the addaday massage roller and showed me how to use it and even used it on me and boy did it help a lot! I bought that and am very happy with it. Never before have I felt so welcome in any store and treated so well, I will definitely refer friends and family to this store and soon come back to buy my brooks running shoes! read more

I came in for a simple shoe to wear around for my everyday activity, but the man who helped me(tall, black spiked hair, glasses, name started with an M) took excessively long to assess me and then continually tried to upsell me! He used terms that I did not know, I think to make himself sound smarter, and he kept me for close to an hour when my intention was to be in and out within twenty minutes.He was telling me things that I didn't even want nor need to know! I love this store! We originally started shopping here because I needed a store that knew shoes and knew how to fit feet for my son when he was running his first marathon. He has now run 4 marathons and gotten me into running. The staff is AMAZING, they know their product and the customer service is impeccable. I didn't check their hours before I drove over to the store and consequently walked in 10 minutes before closing. Fleet Feet has a wide range of products. knowledgeable and patient staff. I used to assume that a specialty store would be more expensive than other stores but that is not the case! And you get all the expertise at no additional cost! They are so involved in the running community, offering all kinds of workshops, yoga and they support local events too! Love these guys. Fleet feet is one of the cleanest retail stores I have ever seen, there is absolutely nothing on the floor and not a single item out of place. There are about 30-40 shoes for sale at any given time so the selection is rather narrow compared to most stores, with that being said they have some of the most comfortable shoes. The shoes they carry range from $100+ (not certain if they sell shoes cheaper I just haven't seen any cheaper in their store) They can be a bit slow depending on the customers as I have only seen two employees at any given time. While they are helping other customers you just kinda sit around and wait. read more

So disappointed with customer service. 5 associates working, 2 customers in the store when I walked in. No one asked if they could help me. I was looking at the hydration vests for a good 5 min. Finally went to cashier where 3 associates were standing. One young man, very nice, did help. That was the only positive. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. Stopped and looked at shoe wall on the way out, young lady said let her know if we wanted to try anything. On the way out found 2 jackets so decided to purchase. Stood at checkout bc everyone was in the back. Older gentleman saw us, twice, and didn't acknowledge. My husband finally stood by the doorway until young lady asked if we needed help. Could have easily walked out without paying. No clue we were there. She asked if we had ever shopped there before. I had to chuckle and said yes, just today...mind you she was the young lady who approached me at the shoe wall. She didn't take the time to fold the jackets, just stuffed them in a sack like they were garbage. First and last time visiting a Fleet Feet. Going to stick with Run With Us in Pasadena. I've worked at a running specialty store, this would never have been acceptable customer service. read more

Well i'm gonna go 4 starts on this review...i love the concept, the store run by runners, they give you a chance to jog up the walk while they take a look and no flack for trying on as many variations of sizes and widths that you'd like...for me they appeared to have every size and width i needed. I agree with a few of the other poor reviews here that you don't get a true feeling that they're looking that closely at your foot stride, but then again it's not exactly rocket science and perhaps they can read it in just a few glances. Either way, you often don't get the most solid feeling...i'm sure this varies alot based on your sales person however. And yes, it gets very crowded, how often have you walked into a shoe store and immediately been asked to take a number. Go early or plan to be there an hour or more. But in the end, you can try on 6 or 8 pairs of shoes, run around in them a bit and really feel the subtle differences between each. No heavy sighs when you ask for a different brand in the same size, or the same shoe in a different width and as stated before, they seemed to be well stocked. They're not a bargain, nor did i find them particularly expensive. For the amount of time and service you're given, i wouldn't expect discount prices anyway. So If you can battle through the crowds and find a salesperson you vibe with, you'll get a lot of service and variety, especially compared to going to a big chain. read more
