I was in need of some new shoes, so I went to Fleet Feet. I was greeted by a sales associate named June. She was so incredibly kind, and very well-versed in the specifics of each shoe. She knew all the terminology and was ready for anything. She made 3 choices and brought me shoes for each one. The first one was "The One". They fit so comfy, and I was so relieved to have them. Fleet Street is great because it knows how to remove all aggravation from the equation. We tried on the other two sets of shoes just for the sake of argument, but they were no-gos. June was completely ok with that, and then she walked me to the checkout counter and I was good to go. After having foot surgery I needed a good pair of athletic shoes. I went to fleet feet. That was an expensive mistake. They fit me in a pair of New Balance. I haven't been very active since my surgery so the shoes have gotten very little active use. The shoe started ripping within in a few months. Now there is a giant hole on the top of the shoe. I came in to the store to show them and they said that's what happens with their shoes and they only stand by their product for 30 days. They told me their shoes only last 6 months! Is this for real? Why didn't anyone tell me that when I spent $130+tax on them! I never would have spent that much on a shoe that is only going to last 6 months. I understand a shoe wouldn't last if I ran each day or was very active, but after being on crutches and in a cast there's not much activity that can be done as you recuperate- you can imagine how little use these shoes got. David was extremely helpful and went above and beyond making sure I got what I needed and wanted! He is very knowledgeable about the body and aimed for my overall comfort for my feet. We assessed and scanned my feet on how much pressure is distributed when walking/running and he pulled out multiple options (based on my results) of shoes for style and comfort level! The price of the shoes was well worth it, in fact I got myself two pairs of Brookes! You can't put a price on your health, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure ! It's like walking on clouds and my feet feel so supported (I'm prone to twisting my ankle, which I brought up and David was proactive in getting the care I needed!) You might be able to get your running shoes from Amazon or some other retailer but those sites don't build or support the running community. Fleet Feet does an amazing job of putting on great weekly runs and events on the weekends to support runners. Even if the shoes are priced a bit more than online I'd rather support a locally owned business which invests time and money into supporting the community. I bought a pair of Pegasus 35's this weekend and enjoyed chatting with the staff person who helped me. They have a system where they scan your feet and suggest shoes based on those results. You should definitely shop here. They also have a parking lot so parking is easy. read more

The important thing about buying Shoes is not what they look like, who made them, who wears them or the price. Fit is the most important thing! How many of us bought really cool shoes that we wore only once or twice because they were uncomfortable? Fleet Feet gets the Fit right every time. I've been buying running shoes there since they were Phidippides and never had a bad pair. The staff knows exactly how to get the Fit right and they give you several options over a range of prices. My family and I were waiting to be seen inside the store bench when an employee came up to us and said "we only allow 6 people in the store,Do you want me to count for you how many are in here" ? Then she proceeded to count out loud. There was absolutely no reason to speak to us as that way. Mind you a family was just sitting on the same bench while we waited outside until they moved to be serviced. Very poor customer service. A simple "due to covid our policy is 6 people inside the store, if I could please have 2 of you you step outside I will greatly appreciate it. I will not recommend this store or will I be returning. After my wife gave me a GC for Christmas I went in today and it was one of the best customer service experiences I've had in my life...and I'm a stickler! My sales person was Jake and after I gave him details about my newly discovered passion for running, Jake took a 3D scan of my feet! He analyzed the scan and gave me more details about my feet than I knew existed. Then he brought out 4 shoes he thought might be a good choice. He invited me to run outdoors in each of them. He insisted on putting each shoe on me, tying it, etc. because he described FF as a "full service" shoe store. Jake was so knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I called earlier and spoke to someone about getting fitted for shoes and was really excited to come in as I was willing to spend more than $200 for shoes and insoles. It was disappointing to see that I walked in and no one noticed me, I made eye contact with one lady behind the counter but no one even tried to approach me or even say hi. I wrote my name down on the board and was next in line. So I went to look at some shoes on the wall as I waited. About 10 minutes pass by and notice my name was erased and someone else's name was on there. I didn't make a big deal out of it. I just saw that they did that, on top of not even being able to acknowledge me, and walked right out. Was really disappointing because I'm sure they offer great products and services but seeing as I just didn't even feel welcomed I just walked out after being there for over 10 minutes without even a hello. And on top of it my name was erased from the board without being spoken too. Like I said I'm sure they have great products but customer service matters to me. Go at your own risk. Awesome customer service! I never heard about this place until a recent visit to Adventure 16 in Westwood. I was looking for a good pair of running shoes for my genetically abnormal foot (extra wide). The gentleman who was helping me suggested Phidippides in Encino. He said that they (Phidippides) could certainly address my inquiry better than where he works. The next following day, my wife and I visited this place that was referred to us. It was our first visit and sure it was unforgettable. Melinda welcomed us with a warm welcome and really catered to my needs. She escorted us to a bench to seat, then she sat on the floor and asked me specific questions to help her dial down what shoe will be perfect for me. After gathering some intel, she went back and grabbed several kinds of models and brands. She was kindly enough to let me try anything that I wanted and go try running them outside the store. I was carefully watched and evaluated by her while I was running with the shoe. After a few trials changing from shoe to shoe, I was aware that Melinda was very patient with me with felt zero pressure. It took me a while to decide but we ended with a Brooks Addiction 8. Fleet Feet has really changed the way I shop for shoes now. Jake really knows what he's talking about when it comes to running shoes. I was recommended this place by my podiatrist office and they surely did not disappoint. Never in my life did I think I would buy a pair of Hoka's but they're seriously the most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned. Gone are the days when looking "cool" comes before comfort. Ask for Jake!! My wife and I stumbled on this store while shopping at Office Depot. She suffers from Plantar fasciitis so we have been looking for good running shoes for her... Jake had her stand on their 3D scanning machine which took a complete scan of her feet in 10 seconds or so. After that he brought out 5-8 pairs of shoes that would best fit her foot shape, size, arch etc.... He informed us of all kinds of things that we were not up to date on.... Jake was VERY knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with, he spent a solid hour and half with us and 10-12 pairs of shoes later she decided on a pair of Brooke's and and some special plantar socks. Products: They have a wide range of shoes for all purposes (ie. marathon, sprints, jogging, etc...). You can buy apparel, rollers for massages, athletic tape, braces, etc.. Anything that you can think of for running, Fleet Feet offers. Service: The service here is impeccable. I came in to buy a brace because my knee was hurting from a long run and Trey wrapped my knee up with tape, found the right knee brace, and customized some insoles for me that will ease the pain. He even showed me how to use a roller loosen my quad muscles. I've never experienced service like that anywhere else. A+++ service Events: They hold free classes focusing on a particular skill such as running, taping, using a roller etc... I have been buying my shoes from Fleet Feet for the past 21 years, driving from Calabasas to the Encino store. Unfortunately the current sales staff is very kind, but not very knowledgeable. I purchased a new pair of Mizuno shoes in May 2023 along with new insole orthotics. The salesperson scanned my foot and recommended a size 11.5 shoe which she said the scan verified. I ended up developing a neuroma on both feet, which necessitated the need for Custom orthotics by a Podiatrist. That said, I travelled to Japan this past summer(where Mizuno has its headquarters) and went into a athletic footware store in Tokyo. I was re-scanned there and informed that my shoe size was actually 10.5 Wide. I purchased the new pair there and have been very happy with no problems. When I returned home, I informed Ken,the manager at the Encino store of my unpleasent ordeal, and showed him my pair of Mizunos(11.5) that I purchased from his store and the NEW Mizunos size 10.5W that I was currently wearing. After explaining the entire situation, he told me there was nothing he could do because the 60 day return was no longer valid. He wished me a Happy Holiday and sent me on my way. If I could give this place zero stars I would. A friend and I walked in to every customer being helped by an employee so I assumed we'd get the same treatment if not similar. Great shoes, CRAZY HIGH PRICES! Phidippides focuses only on people who are interested in walking/running. I wanted to start running and a friend referred me to this store. I tried about 15 pairs of shoes before I found one that fit like a glove. What's great is they have you take a very short jog outside to check the shoe. How you run naturally, the way your feet turn and overall needs for the shoe. When it was time to check out the damage was $150. I mean, it's a really great shoe but with this economy and all, I had to order the same ones from Amazon and paid $85 with free shipping for the SAME SHOE! Headed in to find out that they were busy (good sign) and did free evaluations and suggestions based on your walk, stance, need, and running style.
