If you're looking for sports gear, well this is the place for you. The old Sears location on the bottom floor of Northridge Fashion Center. There's plenty of parking out front. They do have a nice shoes sections with loads of sneakers. A decent selection with name brands. I did notice that they did carry loads of Adidas. There's also a good selection in apparel. Mainly active wear but you'll find the occasional traditional classic pieces if you look for them. But if it's active wear or sport wear, it's your place. Then you have all the sports gear. There's a section that's all golf. Loads of clubs but they're all locked up So you can't really try them out. You have basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and so on. So I placed my order online and then was notified when it was ready within 2 hours, that's a plus. However, once I arrived to the curbside parking spots in Northridge, they were taken up (saw a family park and get off) so safe to say they decided to park in the spot not for them. Anywho so I found one and submitted the parking spot number, but still when the associate came out like 15 minutes later he looked lost and I waved him down. Sold me a knee brace that was a gift. They opened it up and it was somebodies used, old, dirty knee brace they decided to take as a return and put back on the shelves. Wasn't even the same size and was a different style, well minus some pieces and parts the person decided to keep off of it. Drove almost 40 minutes to grab one of these as they're only sold in LA locations and that's what they get when they open the gift. So disappointing. read more

I've been sleeping on Dick's! Wait, that doesn't sound right. I am constantly struggling to find a store that has a decent selection of athletic shoes and I was SHOCKED when I walked in to see the shoe selection here at the Northridge location. Woweee! I was able to try on any style of any brand I was interested in. Inventory was an issue in my size. I was a little annoyed that the one pair I came into the store for listed as being in stock at the store and when I got there, they didn't have them. Nevertheless, I got to try on so many styles in one place and I was pumped about that. From Nike, to New Balance, to Vans, Birkenstocks and more! Shoes are also organized by type, so running, athletic style, etc. There is also a big selection of socks right in the shoe department for convenience. I had to wait a while before someone was able to help me in the shoe department, but once someone came, they were very helpful and knowledgeable about the different styles of shoes they had. I didn't have to wait very long at all for them to bring my shoes out to try. Also shout out to the team here who very calmly and gracefully handled someone shoplifting right in front of my eyes. They seem to have great communication and didn't cause a panic by any means. Next time I am looking for a new pair of kicks, Dick's will be my first stop! read more

Manager: Martin A. Cashier: Debi Date of Incident: 3/31/2025 Time: 10:30 AM With baseball season approaching for my kids, we bought some baseball gear two weeks ago, including cleats, pants, and a backpack, totaling around $256 (we have receipts). This morning, around 10:30 AM, my wife went to the store to exchange a pair of pants. For some reason, one pair wasn't listed on the receipt, which was clearly a mistake on the cashier's part for not ringing it up. When the cashier pointed this out, she spoke in a tone that seemed to suggest my wife had stolen the item. She raised her voice, making sure other customers could hear, which was extremely embarrassing, especially since my wife was with our 9-year-old son. Debi even offered to review the store's CCTV footage, which my wife agreed to. However, instead of following a simple "no receipt" exchange policy (which only requires a driver's license), the cashier chose to publicly embarrass my wife. My wife also spoke to the manager, Martin A., who failed to help resolve or de-escalate the situation. If my wife were white, I'm confident this wouldn't have happened, and she would have been able to exchange the pants without any issues. Eventually, my wife insisted on seeing the CCTV footage immediately, but both Debi and Martin refused, saying they had "more important" things to do. This Dick's is located in the Northridge shopping mall. Though for some reason, you are not able to access it inside of the mall. You have to go outside and around to be able to get inside. I don't know if they did this because it was the day after the Dodgers won the WS as a way to control the crowd or maybe because they opened up at midnight the night before to sell the Dodgers gear and just never opened it back up during normal business hours. I haven't been in a lot of Dick's, but if you are looking to purchase any sports related items, this is probably the place to go. It was big and clean inside. read more

To Debi and Felicia. I am a fire victim who was trying to return some gifts that don't fit my paperwork burned down. With everything I owned. And they reused to help me get store credit. A hoodie that was $150 only want to give me 35. And a belt that was $50 was giving me $30 which I was ok with but refused with an attitude. Not sure why and what reason. Telling me I needed an identification and that's the only way she can do it, which is untrue because I did trade back something else and they override it, but Felicia just didn't wanna do it. That's the problem with people like her. Two higher management you really need to do something with a person like that she does not need to be in charge.btw Debi I was not lying that I lost my home in the fire. Terrible store. They have one person working in the shoe section. It took 20 minutes to get one pair to try on, and when they brought it over, there was one shoe in the box. The guy said that it's their rule for Nikes air max. However, the week before I tried on the same pair with two shoes. How are you supposed to try on shoes and walk around in them, if you can't try both on? As we left, the manager was there, standing around with other employees who could've been helping the guy at the shoe section. I let her know of the experience shopping at her store. She was dismissive and rude. She needs to tell all of her employees of these policies, so it's consistent every time. It might help if she started training her employees in the first place. Yelp says they open at 9, which they do, but ONLY for the outside entrance. If you want to enter from the inside of the mall, it's 11:00. So stupid. Even when I am just walking through here to get to the main mall, I rarely see any employees out on the floor. They're only ever behind registers (or doing a good job hiding from me because at this point, I'm always looking for them). Beyond that, this store is clean, very well stocked, and prices are decent. When we're looking for something for my son, who's exploring just about every sport imaginable to figure out what he wants to stick with, we know Dick's is going to have whatever gear we need. I also appreciate that the store is connected to the mall. It allows for you to combine shopping at multiple stores all in one trip. Ordered a stationary bike that was delivered in a damaged box. We were told when we purchased Dick's would also assemble. That was a lie. I called customer service who said I would have to pay a separate company to assemble. I'm a senior who now has to hire someone to put it together. The store was clean and bright thought. Value was average, good products for a decent price. Service on the other hand was not so good. I waited for 15 minutes in a particular department and no one came to help me. I was able to find what I was looking for and went to Google for product info. The young group at the register did not greet me or say much. Not very welcoming! They were too busy horsing around and having gossip time amongst each other. "I just started weightlifting and don't want to hurt my back." As the conversation progressed, Eric took his time to go through every weight belt they had and made recommendations accordingly. He even helped make sure the belt I chose was a snug fit, because he cared about my fitness journey. Best of all, Eric told me I had 90 days to return the belt if I wasn't completely satisfied. Best sporting goods store in the area! This Dicks is located in the Northridge Fashion Center in the space that used to house Sears. There are two entrances into the store, one from the parking lot and the other through the mall. I visited on a Saturday night. Parking was easy and plentiful. I parked right near the entrance to the store. The store was well organized, clean and well stocked. Sports equipment for every major sport and equipment for outdoor activity can be found here. The sportswear clothing selection was amazing. Customer service was wonderful. I was greeted by every employee I came into contact with. Zach assisted me in the shoe department. He was great. He was friendly, professional and helpful. Pricing was standard. Coupons and sales occur regularly. I will definitely return. read more

I went to the Northridge store and Jimmy, the cashier ( ya big job, maybe he felt he needed to Hage some authority bc being a cashier is a lowely job I was one at one point) refused to exchange my shoes bc he said they were worn. They are in PERFECT CONDITION! I called corporate and got the run around, saying they can be exchanged or returned within 7 days, which I am within that period, if they are in selling condition, which they are! The fabric is perfect, only a small dirt smidge on the side. Yet dicks sells defective shoes? Letrice was amazing and appreciated her efforts. We needed a bike off the ceiling rack. She did not hesitate to help. Looked like heavy bike so she said she would come back for help. She came back with a forklift to move the canopy's that were blocking the ladder. She then attempted to get the bike and made the decision to call someone for help and reassured us that someone would be back to help us. Someone came in a few minutes. She went above and beyond. Anyone else would just call someone to help us instead of herdelf, but not Letrice! I hope she gets recognized for this. A small act makes a big difference in anyone's day. She made ours! read more

I came to the store yesterday, Saturday (2/22/25), at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the hopes of purchasing metal baseball cleats for my 15-year-old son. In the past month, yesterday's visit marked our 3rd visit in February... we made our way to the shoe section of the store. It was pretty busy, and as I attended to my 9-year-old daughter and my 9 year old god son I had told my son to seek assistance from an associate in finding the right cleats for him. After about 20 minutes, my son found me in the store and asked us to leave as no one was helping him and after numerous requests for the cleats on the store's provided tablet. I asked him to watch his sister and nephew as I sought assistance. A young associate was nice enough to help, and as I requested the cleats my son wanted in a size 9-1/2, an associate came out from the back room and announced, "He already requested those shoes and now he's acting like a bitch!" I couldn't believe what I had heard!!! I was flabbergasted!!! I didn't know what to think or say... when I asked the young associate what his co worker had said, the young associate's body language confirmed what I had heard. He tensed up and looked away and said, "I didn't catch what he said." I followed the associate with the foul mouth towards the back area where they store the shoes. I noticed the name on his tag "TONY." I asked what he had said, and his demeanor and body language said it all. He didn't deny it and asked I leave the area. I left the area as soon as he called a manager/supervisor. Debi came out along with another young associate/supervisor, and as I started to talk to Debi, I thought maybe this would be the end of it as long as I brought to their attention "Tony's" actions... Tony then came behind Debi and proceeded to laugh and mock me as I was telling Debi my recollection of the occurrence. Tony's actions do not in any way reflect Dicks customer service. I have never been treated this way, and after it all, I continued to purchase baseball equipment for my son. It is my personal opinion that "Tony" be reprimanded and re-trained so that this will never happen again. As a small business owner, I would never allow any of my employees to conduct themselves like this while under my employment!!! read more

I had an unfortunate experience with an employee named Debbie. I had a few articles of clothing in my hand. When I asked where the restroom was, she condescendingly asked me if I needed to use it. Why else would I be asking for the location of the restroom? She then let me know I would have to leave my items at the front desk.
