Called the store from Ottawa Canada to reserve some jeans for when I arrive in NYC in a couple weeks. Spoke to Rony P. He took the time to hear my needs, then went to confirm inventory in my size (I'm not an "off the rack" build) and called me back confirming my list AND recommending a few other style I did not even realize were available in my size! Once he was finished confirming everything we completed the transaction and I have a package waiting for me when I arrive!! Today AG Jeans lost a very loyal customer. I bought 3 pairs about 8 months ago which I rotated on a regular basis and wore moderately frequently. One pair developed a linear relatively clean tear in the right back pocket with the surrounding fabric pristine. The fabric underneath was also pristine. I went in expecting to get a new replacement pair for what most likely was a defect in the fabric making it prone to a tear. Instead I got an offer to purchase a new pair at 30% off. To me that is very poor customer service and very shortsighted. They lost a very good customer. In the future I will buy as good if not better jeans at stores like Nordstrom where you pay for what you get. read more

Although I've always liked AG Jeans products, the last pair of shorts had a leather label that bled during the wash and literally ruined the fabric. I tried to contact their customer service, but it seemingly does not exist. There is no phone number offered or even a chat option online. only an email address which I used multiple times before receiving a response. It took nearly a week and 3 or 4 emails Before someone responded. Then, it took nearly another week and multiple emails before they provided a credit in the form of a gift card. When I tried to use the gift card online, it didn't work. More emails and many more days later,I was told I could only use the credit for certain pairs of shorts on their site......crazy stuff... it is really absurd That I should have no choice about what to buy and more importantly, what to wear on my body.... I came here to buy my husband, my father, and father-in-law jeans as Father's Day gifts. I felt confident that their staff would steer me in the right direction and style-up these important men in my life. I was very happy with my purchases. One thing you need to know, is that I think all of their men's jeans come in a 34 length, and they provide free alterations. Love this store. I find these jeans fit me better than any of the other jeans out there. I'm both curvy and high waisted, so I find their mid and high wasted jeans awesome. And they stretch and well made. Plus my grandfather's name was Adriano, so there is a bit of sentimentality there. Have bought several pairs of pants from them. Most of them have been great-- comfortable, well-fitting and generally well made. And, the service has typically been good-- quick, helpful, and efficient. They only get a 2 because of a problem I just had. I bought some pants and had them altered (all their pants need a fixed inseam). I had the audacity to put on the pants and the button popped off. I brought them back immediately (10 mins after I picked them up) and got a serious amount of attitude when trying to exchange for a working pair of pants. Things here aren't cheap. That's ok because the quality is usually excellent. But, I'm not impressed with how they handled the defective product they just sold me. They should do better. read more

We come here every year for my husbands birthday gift! They never disappoint! My husband is a big guy with a small waist but large thighs and butt cheeks! But AG on Columbus Avenue in NYC is the best store and goes out of their way to get your size to you, honest about how something looks on you and will tell you the truth. Best jeans ever. I read reviews about this locations and I was hesitant to go in. On the UES some of the precious shops have rude and condescending staff but I hadn't experienced that attitude in shops on the UWS. So I've shopped there twice In The past month. Both times the staff was so nice and so helpful. The store manager Kristen took my information to call me when what I was looking for came in. Don't let the old reviews dissuade you. This staff is so nice, even when you don't buy anything after trying in 12 pairs of jeans. They understand their jeans aren't priced like (or feel or look like) the GAP so you may need to think about it and come back when you decide. I'm 55 years old and these jeans look amazing and are the most comfortable jeans I own. And hemming is free! read more

You know what? I purchased two pair of really expensive jeans here. I had them hemmed in the store and they just don't look good. They are too short. Really sucks because pants here cost a damn fortune. My beef is the dude who did the measurements was just a guy on the sales floor. There wasn't a tailor. He asks me where I want them cut and I'm like I have no idea I just want them to look good. Well he obviously didn't know either, because they came out too short. not only do their jeans fit, they have amazing customer service. If you lose your receipt, they have it on file. if they mess up a pair of jeans they hemmed, they'll replace it. Most infuriating clothes shopping experience I've ever had. HUGE waste of precious time. They don't care if you're happy with your purchase or if the jeans fit right or not. Staff at this store (and the company at large) could learn a ton from other high-end retailers who communicate clearly about policies, who truly care and value customers and the customer's experience. AG Jeans, UWS are unethical, untrustworthy, and not upfront about their return policies and do nothing to own or correct their mistakes - but rather put all the onus on the customer. I was promised that I would get a full refund for a return by an employee there & the next day, she said, "oh, we can only give you store credit." Honor your word. I used to love AG jeans and buy multiple pairs in different styles and colors - never again. read more

I have always loved AG Jeans, but the customer service in the store on the Upper West Side surpasses all shopping experiences in NYC. On occasion I will pop in the store and pick up a new pair of jeans, the staff is always helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to find sizes and colors in their store or any other location. A few weeks ago on my way to work I got stuck in a mess (use your imagination) and completely ruined my light blue brand new jeans. I was so embarrassed and jumped in a cab and headed to my office. I locked myself into my office and when the AG store opened I called them. The manager Emily was beyond sympathetic to my situation and found me a pair of jeans in my size. She gave me 10% off because of the day I had and she messengered the pants to my office. Emily made my day! She is so wonderful and represents how amazing these guys are! Actually the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My husband bought pants from here and they were damaged after one wear and wash. We air dried them as instructed and coating on the pants completely peeled off the back pocket. I went into the store and spoke to many different employees none of whom could find my order in the system, even though they were purchased at an AG store location (not through a department store) so they were unable to repair, replace, refund or give me store credit (wtf?) -- they reached out to "corporate" who gave me a very small discount on a future purchase which is not helpful. Why would I want to purchase yet again from somewhere that doesn't stand by the quality of their products? We have spent thousands of dollars at AG over the years, and I'm honestly shocked that they would treat loyal customers this way. Never purchasing anything from any AG location again, and overall have a really bad taste in my mouth about the brand in general. read more

I love the clothing here. The denim is well made and high quality. I always find something I like and the styles are fashion forward yet simple. Some of the sales staff can be rather unsophisticated. I've heard them gossiping or talking inappropriately while I've been there shopping. But it's a retail store in NYC - you cannot have high expectations about service. Even the staff at Barney's can be rude or oblivious. So, don't shop here for the service - shop here for the great selection of jeans that fit well. The denim jackets are great, too! read more

Great customer service! I have only been in a few times to purchase jeans. Yes, I love AG jeans, but unfortunately the price tag prevents me from visiting the store with more frequency. This time I had come in sadly disappointed that the jeans I had purchased two weeks ago just were not comfortable at all from day one and was hoping they would stretch with wear as I was informed. I was amazed at how much the sales people worked with me to get a jean that would work. It was truly fantastic customer service...the kind of which I have only experienced at Nordstrom. Product great, service horrendous. I have enjoyed the AG product over the years, but dread each time entering the upper west side store. I visited it earlier this week and the employees have this air about themselves, and while many of them appear to want to help, when you get down to picking styles or colors they don't want to follow-up, or they divert their attention to other customers, or what appeared to be friends who have subsequently entered the store. When I was there last someone tried to return an item that was bought a few days ago and they gave her such a run-around, trouble finding the original purchase in the system, then said manager couldn't give a refund, etc. I felt horrible, not only for her, but for myself who was going to have to follow her. For years, the store is staffed by individuals who view their product is superior so why give much in the way of service. Real shame. I visited it for the last time.
