I came twice during Portland Sandwich week to try the chicken Caesar sandwich and they were closed (assuming they sold out early and that makes me so happy for them). I was sad thinking that I had missed it. I saw people posting on Instagram that it was still around and I quickly went to try it. To my dismay their close sign was up, but there was someone working in the cart. He was very kind and took my order when he saw me looking at the menu and I had turned around accepting defeat. The sandwich was FRESH! The chicken was hot and crispy, oh my goodness it was so crispy! The crunch that it gave, wow! The Caesar salad inside was tangy, salty, punch of tartness from the lemon. I don't think I have had a Caesar salad quite that flavorful. The bread was soft and very buttery toasty on the inside. I will say, the box that the sandwich came in was small, but it was filled to the brim and left me so full. Big things come in small packages. I am writing this and thinking about going out to get another chicken Caesar sandwich because it's that good. Stopped at Flew the Coop for PDX Sandwich Week. We arrived around 11:15am, 15 minutes before their opening hours listed on Yelp and the PDX Sandwich week website. We stood in line for about 30 minutes, then left because they hadn't opened. I think it's in poor taste to have confusion over opening hours. On the food cart itself, it showed opening at 1:30pm. We may or may not go back again. Beware that the hours you find online may be incorrect. I also want to note that the operating hours shown on Yelp were updated 2 weeks ago. Take from this what you will. Edit: We went back a few hours later, but the long way too long, so we left and never got to try their sandwich. I keep wondering if it's that special or just easy to get to. I will never go back to this establishment. I hope they can work out when they actually open and advertise it appropriately. read more

Low and behold I saw a TikTok of someone doing a review of it and said they'd added it to their regular menu. My honey works like two minutes from there so I came and had lunch with him and we ordered those and the garlic fries. Neither one disappointed! I ordered extra aioli sauce for the fries, just in case, when in reality they didn't need any sauce, they were fantastic on their own. I have been here twice in the past week. I'd love to tell you how good the food or service was, but I never saw either. I arrived at the food cart pod at 11AM the first day and 11:15AM on Friday. Neither day the cart opened on time (which is posted on their truck as 11:30A). I waited until Noon the first day, and at the time of writing this, I'm in a line of people and it's 11:50AM. (I left at noon again) it's a little disappointing that they can't open on a reliable time when people are clearly coming specifically to try them. The woman at the counter, as many others have noted, is demonstrably unfriendly and seems to hate either her job, or humankind in general. I have not heard of this food cart until my coworker mentioned that she really wanted to try their chicken sandwiches, especially the Korean fried chicken one. We finally had a chance to try it and my experience was underwhelming. While the sandwich itself was good, it wasn't anything I haven't tried before. I will say that the buns were soft and the chicken was juicy. Price point was also fair, $10 a sandwich. It does not come with any sides or fries so we also ordered a side of waffle fries with honey mustard. However, it's the service that will not bring me back. The lady that took my order was not friendly or inviting. And when I got my order, I didn't see the honey mustard sauce so I asked if it was in there. I feel like that's a fair question, since it wasn't visible and a lot of times, restaurants forget the sauce. Her answer and demeanor towards me was cold and honestly rude and off-putting. It seems like everything is expensive these days, so when I discovered Flew the Coop, with its massive fried chicken sandwiches averaging around $9, I was a bit astounded. Heck, crappy fast food places are charging nearly that much for their premium sandwiches, and they mothercluckin' terrible by comparison! My wife ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich, while I dismissively ignored the sandwich named the "KFC" because of its obvious connotation, realizing afterward that the acronym stood for "Korean Fried Chicken", and went with my perennial favorite, the Nashville Hot Chicken. I have no regrets about my choice, but knowing myself, I would have branched out and tried that one instead, because just about anything labeled "Korean" is going to be good. Both of us eyeballed the Bacon & Bleu fries, but after seeing the size of the sandwiches being served to other customers, there was no way we'd be able to tackle that in addition to our entrees. Next time! The chicken breasts for each sandwich are generously sized, high-quality white meat, crispy fried to perfection, juicy and tender. Each came with its own accoutrement, with the Buffalo Chicken slathered in bleu cheese coleslaw and battered in buffalo-sauced breading. The Nashville was crisp and spicy, and thankfully not saturated in hot oil like other places tend to do. I didn't know this food cart pod was here, but it's definitely going to become a regular stop for us, whenever the hunger pangs drive us to fly the coop in search of lunch or dinner...and there won't be any hunting and pecking necessary to narrow down where to go. And while we haven't tried any of the other carts within the pod yet, it will be difficult to dethrone Flew the Coop as the big cockerel at the top of the pecking order! read more

This is between a 3 and a 4. Solid value ordering here. Chicken and waffle fries had good gravy, and the fries were super crispy. On the sandwich, buffalo sauce was okay, soft bun, and the blue cheese slaw was great. In both cases the chicken missed the mark. Didn't have a ton of flavor on the fries and on the sandwich all of the breading fell off. The chicken was also very firm and hard to bite into. It was recommended by a relative. I was eating at the Food Cart with relatives. I ordered the Frickin' Chicken Sandwich and an order of waffle fries. My go to spot for fries! They have the best garlic herb fries , literally everything you'd ever wanted and executed perfectly. Each fry is golden crispy with explosion of herby garlicy flavor in every bite. They also have great chicken sammys like the Nashville so give that a try.
