This place is a joke. $260 for absolutely nothing. The place is dirty with trash everywhere. It's run down nearly looking abandoned. We stayed one out of our three days and decided to leave, we didn't even spend the night.

Place is creepy not for children the workers seem a little to nice we where staying in the cabin next to a cabin that wasn't rented out and we decided to check it out and what we found was not to pleasing we found blood stain in our toilet and we found blood water in the take that leads to the toilet please please please do not come here

I've been RV camping for five years or so, been all over the place. We stayed at the Holly KOA this weekend, and to be honest the place is a dump. The grass was 6 inches high, the sites not level, the bathrooms dirty, the kids play ground was full of weeds. The jump houses: one was not inflated and had standing water on it, it appeared it was like that from last fall because of the rotting leaves in the water. The other two where very dirty, as was the big pillow jump. It appears the owners have just given up on the place. I went to the office on the way out to voice my opinion and found a note on the door saying they were on the grounds working. Nobody was working on the grounds and by the way the place looks nobody has in a long time. This place is giving all KOA a bad name, I will never be back.

I stayed at this KOA this weekend with friends. After reading a few negative reviews online, I was EXTREMELY nervous, but after a pretty great weekend, I can say those reviews aren't very accurate. When we first found the campground, I was disappointed. It is very close to I-75 and when you first pull in, it looks like a construction site off to the right. Once we got a bit further in, it was ADORABLE! They are updating the pool area so a lot of the construction mess is from that. Improvements are a must so I am able to overlook the mess. It'll go away when the work is done. At night the traffic noise is pretty noticeable. We were tent camping so the first night it did keep us up a bit. The second night, we were so tired from such a busy day, we didn't notice it much at all. :) if we come back, I would bring a fan to run at night to drown out the noise. Problem(s) solved! As I said before, once you really get inside the park, it's adorable! There are mature trees all over. The sites are pretty big and the cabins look cute. There are two play structures and both are updated. They also have a bounce house, bike rentals, outdoor bowling, a sand pit and some additional play equipment (these things cost us $5 per child for the weekend, I thought that was reasonable). The cost also includes train and wagon rides around the park. There are other activities that range from $1-$10 (the zip line is $10) but we didn't get to those this trip. The pool was clean and they are in the process of putting in pavers. Once the work is done, it looks like it will be beautiful. The locker/bathrooms by the pool were kind of scary. I think they are in the process of updating them, so I'm giving it a pass. The bathrooms and showers inside the campground were beautiful and kept VERY clean. I would suggest using those until the updates are complete. The one thing they should do is add "No Smoking" signs to the bathrooms. There was a woman smoking in the stall next to me when I had my four year old and she left ashes on the floor. Everyone that worked there was pretty pleasant. When you arrive they escort you to your site. Workers are all over throughout the day. They come by and pick up trash for you, deliver firewood, and are overall very helpful. My family had a great time here. My son wants to come back as soon as possible. The Holly State Recreation area is right next door. If you want to get more into nature there are hiking trails and fishing.

This place is horrible. Some sites don't even have a fire pit. Our pit is on the line for our site and the neighboring site. Sites are uneven full of ruts and holes. Making it extremely hard to safely pull in your camper. Picnic tables are rotting and falling apart. I've cleaned up cat poop every morning since I got here on Sunday it's Thursday now. There's random cats running around. Went to take a shower there are no shower curtains and the shower knob fell off. These showers are in the same building as the store and offices. They are FILTHY. The newer bathroom shower building seems to be nicer. The laundry room garbage has been full for a while. There's more broken and run down play equipment then there are good play equipment. Someone's going to get horribly hurt here. The teenage boys riding acquired pulling a garbage trailer drive through here as if it's a raceway. They went flying around the corner throwing rocks at my vehicle and when I went up to the office to speak to a manager there's never a manager in. I don't think the manager even exist. There are absolutely no activities they're only on Friday and Saturday laser tag that is listed as being available is not available. The rock wall does not work at all and they don't have harnesses for it. The zip line hasn't worked from what I was told for years now and the building for the zip line area smells as if something has died inside. The only activity that seems nicely kept is the pool. The pool area the sand could be cleaned up a little but the pool is not bad. The computer in the office keeps going down so if you're paying for anything use cash because you'll be standing there forever waiting for the machine to be rebooted. This place is way too expensive for how incredibly rundown it is. Save your money and go somewhere else. The only reason I'm giving it a one-star is because a few of the employees are really nice

When we…read morebrought it up, the owner flat-out lied and told us they hadn't had bed bugs in"over 13 years." That was absolutely false. There are multiple reviews already citing bed bug issues, and staff members themselves admitted to us that it has been an ongoing problem. Even the pest control company they claimed to use confirmed they've been battling bed bugs here. Instead of taking responsibility, management hid behind their ridiculous 14-day cancellation policy and refused to refund our second night(which we didn't stay for obvious reasons). Their"solution" was insulting: a 20% discount for a future stay(as if anyone would want to come back!) and a handful of quarters so we could attempt to kill the bugs in our belongings using their dryer. The dishonesty from Toni and her father is appalling. Any business that knowingly lies to its customers about a health and cleanliness issue this serious has no integrity. Bed bugs are not a minor inconvenience- they spread, they infest, and they follow you home. We left disgusted and disappointed, and I strongly recommend avoiding this campground if you value your health, honesty, or basic respect as a paying customer.

Besides it wasn't very clean, the tub/shower leaked. The playground was good for the kids, loved it was fenced in and the blow up playground was fun- it did rain so was a little wet. Our family reunion was being held so we opted to stay here. We were unable to get a full hook up site, all we could reserve was one with water and electric, which for tonight was fine. We are KOA club member so we did get a little bit of a discount, but it was still about 60 bucks a night for this site. They have two different areas where they assigned spaces. One is grassy and open with full sun and the other is completely shaded by the waterfront. It had rained for a couple days prior to our arrival so the roads were very muddy. I would agree with most of the other commenters that their roads are in pretty bad shape, very rutted and it is a slow process to drive your car through these roads. They were putting some gravel in the entryway when we arrived, but I would say the internal sites near the water were a bit of a mess. It's just very muddy and it really doesn't need to be this way. There's a huge mix of campers, fifth wheels and many tents so there is something for everyone. I cannot comment on whether they charge for different items such as the bounce pad and such as we didn't have any kids with us. I didn't see any priceless anywhere though. We did do laundry. Two dollars to wash, two dollars to dry and everything worked just fine. The staff were pretty friendly. They seem to all be friends and get along really well. We did not use the shower rooms or bath house since we're self-contained. Wi-Fi worked, but it was iffy. Verizon service was pretty good. One of our biggest frustrations was having a pull through site that you really couldn't pull your car out of! There were too many hairpin turns from site 205 so unfortunately, we had to go back to the main entrance and pull off to the side of the road to hook the car back up. Kind of a pain!

Connie the booth worker blocked the back of my car into the parking space with her personal vehicle and jumped out screaming, so angry she was nearly foaming at the mouth. Connie jumped out of her car, and ran to my driver's side window screaming at me as I sat bewildered in the driver's seat of my car. "What do you mean you have a rec pass, you don't even have a Michigan plate?!! Go back to the booth!!" I asked Connie to remove her personal vehicle from blocking my vehicle and obstructing my movement. I told her I don't feel comfortable with her behavior and that I wanted to leave the park. Connie said, "Good, leave!" I stopped at the booth and asked for Connie's name and the contact information for a park's supervisor. Connie replied- you don't need my name. They know who I am in the park's office. She then walked into her booth and slammed the door. I had Deb with DNR drive to the booth to speak with Connie and address her bizarre and over the top behavior. When I asked Deb whether booth workers are deputized or authorized to pursue and block parks goers with their personal vehicles, she smartly replied, "What do you think?" MI Legislature allows DNR officers to write civil tickets only to visitors without a rec pass. Under no circumstances should a civilian booth worker impersonate an officer, chase, pursue or physically block a person who they believe is not carrying a rec pass.
