I'm not one that normally posts on Yelp as a matter fact when I started using the Flintridge Dental Group just about a month ago I felt the need to reactivate my Yelp account so I could post some of the positive experiences that I've had there since I started using them. Today I just left their office after coming in on a day that they are normally closed. I was having an issue with a temporary getting ready for a crown and when I called instead of them saying sorry we're closed today, come in tomorrow, the lovely receptionist simply said I will contact the doctor and I will get back to you. Within 10 minutes I received a text msg. for me to come in today at 1:30. The issue is resolved and the discomfort is gone. The good: Small, but clean. Friendly and capable hygienists, who have been there many years. The not so good: The dentist has an aggressive, upsale approach. I don't doubt her abilities, but the style was off-putting for me. I realize that every person, culture has it's style, but this one didn't suit me. The ugly: On my last visit, I was overcharged for service that they should have rightly charged my dental insurance for. I made a claim with my dental insurer and they ruled in my favor and reimbursed me. I understand that a medical provider is entitled to make a living, but not at the expense of a patient's trust. read more

I met with Dr. Azin Rezaei, and my first impression was she being an honest caring Dentist. I had my xrays done and yes, I needed quite a bit of work. I also had dental insurance so I figured it wouldn't be so bad. Her receptionist Ashley came into the room with a print out of the work I would need. She showed me the cost of each procedure $0.00 for the insurance and my portion. I asked her what would the insurance be paying and I was told nothing as they won't pay for the services I need. Ashley said she had worked with Delta for years and these services they won't pay for, Dr. Rezai agreed. I took the papers mind you it was about 8k out of pocket. I let this settle overnight while unsettling my suspicions. I called Delta myself to verify their story and it turned out Delta did cover some of the services they were billing me for. I'm a bit perturbed now and called the office to share the good news however not so good for them as they both told me it was a lie they don't pay for those services, perhaps not the price tag they were billing however atleast 7k of it they would pay. I told them I spoke with Delta personally and it was verified. I told Dr Rezai I would call Delta with her on the phone so she could hear the confirmation from Delta themselves. I called Delta and of course they confirmed and I heard a nervous laugh coming from Dr. Rezai, so I ended the call with Delta with Dr. Rezai on the phone I said so you heard the conversation and she said, no I wasn'ton the phone, "when are you going to call Delta?" What,? I called and you were on the phone, because I heard you nervously chuckle, she denied it. I'm upset now and so is she because she was caught. I said ok, I'll call them back. Once again she is on the phone with a second confirmation. She then began asking them some other fictitious codes and by now the rep at Delta was becoming annoyed not only at the codes of billing were absurd to the rep the Dr kept speaking over the rep as she tried explaining the correct codes and the fact that they do pay for some of the services they were going to bill me for. Unfortunately that encounter left a bad taste in my mouth and definitely violated trust of a potential patient. Is this called double dipping? They were hoping to get 8k out of me then bill my insurance company knowing some of the services were actually covered. Oh, another thing I found odd, she asked me to open my mouth to check the roof of my mouth, hmmm ok, she immediately said oh you were a bottle fed baby because of the high roof.., hmmm ok, perhaps she provides some sort of Palette procedure? I don't know, I do know at 64 yrs old it hasn't interfered with my eating, drinking, or speech, and if it has, I'll live with this at my big ol age of 64. Wow, someone clearly has a lot of time on their hands. Perhaps that time would be better applied towards learning the differences between healthy teeth and teeth with cavities. A dentist is the lowest in the hierarchy of the medical field of doctors. Doctors actually go through medical school. Did you? Or was it just dentistry school? You are "almost a doctor" and clearly couldn't cut it in any other medical field so worked with what you have. I'm glad you were able to weasel your way into something. You don't dictate how I address people, woman. If you want people to address you with respect, then be worthy of it. You're a disgrace to the dental profession and lack serious ethics. Which is clear. I do wonder how many innocent mouths you've drilled into for your own monetary gain. You're like a shady mechanic. I'm sure, with all the idle time you seem to have on your hands, you'll respond back. But I urge you to try and control your emotions and direct that energy into learning more about your chosen profession. There is a lot of literature out there on the fundamentals of dentistry. Maybe start there. Reviews on yelp are here to communicate with other patrons. Sorry that's lost on you. Best of luck to you as you navigate your career. read more

Overpriced, trumped up charges, unnecessary recommendations - pushes add-ons every visit....great hygienist and decent office staff. Too bad they have to deal with the greed of the dentist that tries her hardest to sell you things you don't need. I have been going to this office for several years, and there is always some extra charge for this or that...additional cleanings that end up not being covered by insurance; the office tells you about five months later, doctor very aggressively pushes Invisilign and palette extension that cost 12k....the list goes on and on. Charges over and above for services that are often done sloppily and rushed. Just stay away if you value integrity in your dentist. read more

Didn't do a great job on my crowns- super uncomfortable to eat. Pretty sure they messed up my gums there because food keeps getting caught now. But when you go in to get it fixed all they do is try to sell you on invisaline. I have a great smile already- but they say it's because without it I'd need more root canals in the future. Between finding the piece of mirror in my mouth after they worked on me, needing to get my crown reattached a month after they put it on, and the incessant sales pitches, I don't ever plan on coming back. I even talked to my sister in law and she said that she got a ton of sales pitches too...being at a dentist is already uncomfortable. No need to also try and sell us. read more

Talk about a review that's a long time coming. I went to this dental group about 5 and a half years ago and the dental trauma I have suffered as a result is unbelievable (I can't even get a cleaning without having a panic attack at this point). At the time, they offered discounts if you "checked in" or left a review on various platforms, so that should have been my first red flag as to the legitimacy of their reviews. They basically told me I needed to redo a filling (which I later found out was not necessary) and completed the procedure which led to pain that I never had previously and ultimately landed me with 2 root canals. I was gaslit into thinking that this was normal and it was not the fault of the dentist in any way. As my pain continued, they attempted to convince me that this was psychological and would go away (prior to the two root canals). They also charged an exorbitant amount for the filling, consults and exams, and then the crown after the root canals (I got the root canals done elsewhere with a specialist who was great). I struggled financially but paid in 2 or 3 installments for my services. Then about 8 months later on Christmas Eve they charged me AGAIN without giving me notice even though I had paid in full. When I called them they asked me to find proof. When they realized the mistake they told me "they had a payment not assigned to a patient so they didn't know." I never went back. Now that brings me to today, 5 years later. I have had to have both of their crowns replaced in that time due to dental errors that my current dentist and second opinions identified. Additionally, the tooth next to the crowns had significant decay due to one crown having a food gap, which has now led to my current predicament of getting ANOTHER root canal and crown on a third tooth that is the direct result of this dentists work. Moral of the story: don't go here Update: the business replied promptly to this review (late at night) claiming to have reviewed the records. Your prompt reply demonstrates your defensiveness, customer service inadequacies, and questionable HIPAA practices. It also directly demonstrates the gaslighting behavior I wrote of. Of note: of course I've gone to the dentist regularly since then but why in the world would I provide a business that I don't trust with my PHI with that information through an ROI to share records? read more

My mother is typically a very grouchy older lady but she insisted I left a review on the dental assistant named Melanie which had me shocked because she rarely likes to leave reviews haha she's more of a complainer. She had told me she was fortunate enough to be assisted by their outstanding dental assistant. Rude and unprofessional office personnel. Not to mention extremely overpriced services. Every story has two sides. The reason I used bad language was out of complete frustration while trying to deal your Office Manager. I called your office with a broken tooth. My request was to have the tooth addressed on the first visit but after two visits later, I still have a broken tooth. The first and only thing this offices cares about is securing their future payments. After wasting over an hour on the financial end of things (twice) They proceeded with a completed dental exam including, full x rays, and told me a had a broken tooth along with a lot of other issues. Then I was informed that I need to come back for a crown/cap to be installed on another date. I was charged for the crown/cap procedure on that same day. Although they did refund the money a few days later. I know that everything in life does not go according to my plan but to be treated the way I was "is very unprofessional" and I reacted in the same manner. The actual Dentist was very kind and professional. Its was the Office Manager who was constantly interrupting me and talking over me. She seemed to have a very negative attitude right from our first conversation. Maybe with a lot of training this Office Manager can improve her Customer Service skill set. read more

This place is a RIP OFF! The staff did a procedure on me 2 years ago in 2017. when I went there today (nov 2019) they told me I have a similar condition and the treatment will not be covered by the insurance. When I asked what is it they need to do .. they said it was deep cleaning and debridement. So I asked why would the insurance not cover it ? They said because insurance allows only once in a life time debridement and according to them I already got that debridement..hen I was at their office two years ago... I was totally unaware of the procedure they were doing to me and that it was 'once in a lifetime' never heard of it. and to top it while I was having a discussion and trying to understand all this the Doctor walked out on me.... only giving it one star because I have to!! read more

I started with a consult at Flintridge Dental Group and everything went so smooth from the beginning. I had braces before but still felt like I needed additional treatment so I set up a consult for Invisalign. My Invisalign treatment went so smooth. They explained every part of the process to me, showed me photos of expected movement (which I thought was really cool), really appreciated the dental education from Dr. Rezaei, Aida and Jess during appointments too! :) Appointments were very easy to schedule and keep up with. Every one here is happy, kind, patient and they make sure you feel comfortable too. Dr. Rezaei is amazing, as is her whole dental team! I've also had my dental cleanings here and two other treatments (gingivoplasty and veneers). The office is so clean and everything is organized. I had to do deep cleaning, tooth alignment and bite adjustment (using invisalign), replace fillings, and other treatments. Dr. Rezaei and her lovely staff did an excellent job and thanks to their treatment and guidance on how to maintain my oral hygiene my gums recovered from pretty bad inflammation and bleeding I had for several years, I got my teeth straightened out and my bite fixed within a year, and my mouth had never looked better. I love this place! The facility is clean, and aesthetically lovely. The staff is kind, warm, and thorough. They walked me through EVERYTHING, the X-rays of each tooth, all my options, what care I need and why. The wait time was very short. I was SHOCKED to see negative reviews about pushing treatments after my visit. They made suggestions but gave me options and always left it up to me. I felt no pressure at all, in fact I felt empowered in this environment because they gave me enough info to make an educated choice. And, even though I haven't been to a dentist in several years they suggested very little work for me, just one tooth that I knew needed attention. They are well educated on the dangers of mercury fillings. I'm a CNS and test people for heavy metals all the time. Cancer patients routinely come though my office with high mercury. RUN from any dentist that says mercury fillings are okay. read more

Gosh...I hate to leave bad reviews nowadays, everyone is struggling...but since that is the case I feel like I should warn people off this dentist. I have pretty good dental insurance. But when my last dentist stopped taking it I had to find someone new by reading reviews online, etc - a pain, but necessary. This place was relatively nearby so I scheduled an appointment. X-rays were taken and I was informed that I needed all my metal fillings taken out because the teeth were "cracking" and because the mercury was poisoning me slowly. I was told I had cavities that needed to be filled but they only used a super special composite filling that my insurance didn't cover - and they didn't offer any other kind of fillings. I was aggressively sold on needing Invisalign for the health of my jaw. The bill was going to be upwards of 3 grand, so I left, and found another really good dentist who filled my cavities with composite (no charge) and warned me off this so-called "holistic dentistry"that contends that mercury fillings are poisoning the populace. I knew it sounded like BS...and it was. read more

Everyone is very friendly and caring. I found out that my previous dental group, which has now closed, was not doing their due diligence during my exams and cleanings. I faithfully went to all of my appointments and when I came here, it turns out I have four cavities and precursor to gingivitis! I was flabbergasted! I do not neglect my dental health. So Flintridge Dental did full X-rays, doctor exam that was very comprehensive and a semi deep cleaning with irrigation. I need another deep cleaning in three weeks and I need to get my cavities filled. So I'm glad I found this dental group because I had no idea my dental health was this bad! read more

I have never visited a dentist who was as thorough, informative, knowledgable and caring as Dr Rezaei. That may sound over the top, but I mean every word. I was given the most comprehensive dental exam I have ever had, and Dr Rezaei explained everything thoroughly. My now former dentist gave my mouth a clean bill of health. That could not be farther from the truth. I could see on the pictures and Xrays I had taken today how my teeth have cracks and how my gums have receded.
