I see alot of awards in the front office, but I have to say that I am disappointed for 2 reasons. I came in for a cleaning, and I left the cleaning session disappointed because the service was rushed and my teeth still had plaque that was not cleaned. I went to a new dentist and I was able to see the difference in cleanliness and service. Secondly, I was recommended to do a dental procedure that would have costed about 5k dollars and I was told I had problems with my teeth, that I actually didn't. The new dentist I went to took X-rays and told me my teeth were fine and there was no problems, and no reason to do any procedures. Just a warning that this dental office may recommend unnecesary procedures that you don't need, and you should get a 2nd opinion somewhere else before you get a procedure/operation done here. read more

I first came across their office for an emergency sensitivity treatment and stayed for the cleaning. My dental hygienist is the first in my three decades of life to influence (aka pressure) me to floss daily. I recently moved to Pasadena and needed a new dentist, and I found Dr. Ho on Yelp. I had a great experience with his office -- the staff were friendly and professional; scheduling an appointment was easy and didn't take too long; and Dr. Ho himself was attentive and patient. Two other notes: (1) they are often booked up far in advance for cleanings, but they get cancellations frequently and can call you to slot you into a cancellation, which is great; (2) they start with the first appointment being an exam rather than a cleaning, which at first I was skeptical of but which I ultimately found very helpful. My boyfriend recommended Dr. Ho's office as I had a recent tooth ache and needed to check if I needed a root canal. The initial dentist I went to said I did, so I wanted a second opinion as I didn't have severe pain there. I went into the office and the staff were friendly, accommodating and ensured I was able to get an appointment day of. Dr. Ho was friendly, calming and we had a great chat before he explained every aspect to me in detail and even said I didn't need a root canal on that Tooth I inquired about. He made me feel comfortable throughout. I walked away feeling assured that I want him to be my dentist and will be returning frequently. I try to schedule an appointment... They said they didn't except my insurance... But actually they do... Continued trying to schedule an appointmentAnd since they take off 10 days or something like that for Christmas holiday they had to schedule a next year roughly 6 weeks down the road. However when I confirm this is for a cleaning and a check up which was not necessary in my opinion considered I have one every six months. They informed me that I couldn't schedule a cleaning until the doctor sees me first and currently their earliest time to schedule a cleaning if I could is in May 2020... That would be six months from the time of scheduling. What if something was really important and I needed to see my dentist.? I don't feel secure knowing if this is how they schedule your first visit that I would be in good hands. Not having an Available hygienist seems pretty amateur hour. However the glowing reviews for this dentist as the second coming sounds wonderful however after having four oral surgeries and a broken jaw I think I know my way around a dental office. read more

This review is not of the dentists but my experience dealing with the office personnel. In my experience as a healthcare professional, the professionalism of the auxiliary staff reflects on the whole practice. I was not impressed when I first phoned and was told that I had to call back to speak to a specific person to make a new patient appt. Fine, waited and called back but the second call I was grilled as to why I needed to speak with that specific person. Seems like a waste of time when I was told to ask for her specifically. The office was too booked to accommodate, could only put me on a wait list "we book 6 months out"- great for them but don't give attitude and sound like you're being put out by my request. Moved on and found someone else highly rated and happy to work on accommodating me. Customer service starts at the front... you lost a new patient and potentially more. read more

I scheduled an appointment as a new patient because of all the great reviews. Ended up cancelling because their receptionist was a bit rude and disorganized. She was blunt when I made the initial appointment, but I assumed she may have been busy or stressed. When I called to verify my appointment and question why my copay was about $20 more than expected, she rushed through the breakdown. Then paused saying she made a mistake. Instead of it being $20 more, it would be $60 more and that because I was a new patient I needed all these extra services that wouldn't be covered by my insurance. I love this place. This is the best dentist that I've ever been to. Dr. Ho is incredibly accommodating and kind. The establishment is pristine. The staff is nice. Dr. Ho knows exactly what he's doing and I've never had a bad experience there. I would recommend this place. Parking is a little tough sometimes because the lot is small. I think that that would be the only thing. They also take emergencies that's how I found Dr. Ho. My crown fell out and I just never left after that. The technology used at this office is state of the art and especially when it comes to fillings and crowns, you can hear about the level of care and usage of current tools out there from the staff, which help you to take care of the natural tooth you still have, vs unnecessarily abrading what's left of your natural tooth even more and causing other painful procedures in time, pain and cost coming down the road. I found this office after having part of tooth around an old filling fall out due to tooth decay and needing an emergency in the area. While I don't have dental insurance and the costs are higher, I really wanted to invest in not having certain teeth emergencies happening again and also understanding more about the procedures I'm doing. Less than two months before getting married I realized my teeth were pretty yellow. I had heard about Dr. Brandon Ho from a friend so I decided to see him about getting my teeth whitened. I was able to make an appointment for the very next week. Dr. Ho thoroughly explained how there are two main options for teeth whitening. I elected to go with the overnight trays instead of the laser because Dr. Ho explained how the laser can weaken my teeth. Come wedding day, my teeth were much whiter! They looked amazing in pictures. And a handful of people remarked how white my teeth were. Needless to say I was very satisfied! I can't speak to how they are with regular check-ups, as I only went in to get my teeth whitened. But if the number of patients coming in and out on a Wednesday afternoon is any indication, it seems Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Brandon are excellent dentists who have a strong and satisfied patient base. When moving to a new area, finding an experienced and trustworthy dentistry can be quite a challenging experience. As I was browsing around, I came across Dr. Ken and Brandon's dentistry due to its proximity to my workplace (JPL). I have to say that I have yet to come across a more professional dentistry in the area that not only excels at their craft, but also makes you feel like family every time you visit. The entire staff in this office is incredibly accommodating to a patient's schedule and needs. I don't think I've come across a single scheduling conflict since I started coming here a few years ago. I had been going to my prior dentist for almost 15 years. I didn't really think much of it - just something I had to do every 6 months. After one visit, I realized that my old dentist was being shady with billing, so I started my journey of trying to find a new dentist. Dr. Brandon Ho came highly recommended to me by a couple of friends, so I made an appointment for my next visit. His office staff was very courteous and helpful. It's a busy office (for good reason), but they were able to accommodate my scheduling request. My cleaning went exceptionally well, and to be honest, was quite an eye-opening experience. To illustrate, imagine vacuuming your carpet at home with a handheld Dustbuster for 15 years... and one day, someone gives you a Dyson DC65 Animal (a really expensive and powerful vacuum). You've suddenly realized that your carpet was never really clean before, and you're shocked that your trusty old Dustbuster completely failed you for years. Yea, that's what Dr. Ho and his hygienist did to me... I will never be able to settle for sub-par dental services again. My family & I have been coming to Dr. Kenneth Ho since before his son Brandon joined the office, and I continue coming here even though I've lived in Bakersfield for three years. Both doctors do absolutely amazing work, as do all of the dental hygienists. The office & staff are chipper & accommodating, while the doctors & hygienists themselves do everything they can to make you comfortable physically & make the appointment stress free. Jesik has been my hygienist since I started going there. Not only is she thorough & enthusiastic, but she is very personable & sweet. Besides the regular cleanings, I've also had cavities filled and a veneer put in which looks amazing. I have a hard time distinguishing it from my real teeth when I look in a mirror! I really like that they talk you through everything that's going on during a procedure (besides a regular cleaning) so that you know what they're doing. The office itself is very comfortable. They always play calming classical music in the background and each of the teeth cleaning rooms has a bay window that looks out to a garden area. You'll also see photos of various charity trips they've done in Central America, and they've told me that they have also done charity work in other parts of California too. It's a great office. I was sent to this practice from a friend of mine who has been coming here for more than 20 years. I had nerve pain in a tooth I knew had a cavity - not quite an emergency, but still urgent to me, and they got me in within the week. Dr Brandon Ho is a sweet man, and really, truly loves what he does. Aside from helping alleviate the worlds pain [something you can see he believes in since the photos him in Guatemala, etc., to do volunteer dentistry are up in the office], he has the soul of a sculptor and wants your teeth to be "perfect'. He is very gentle - can a dentist be too gentle? Almost... He explains what he is dong the whole time. I never felt he was rushing - I actually was impressed with how much time he spent with me, and I know he wasn't bopping into other rooms to juggle patients, like most dentists. Dr's Ho and Ho are THE best. I severely disliked my previous dentist, so much that I refused to go to any dentists until my dad persuaded me to come here. The attention to the patient is unlike any other doctor or dentist's office I've ever been to. Because I grind my teeth at night, I need a night guard. I came in for my first appointment and Dr. Brandon Ho made a great impression on my teeth, the uppers and lowers to be exact. Well, MY first impression of Dr. Ho was how friendly and professional he was. He was also careful and very gentle when working with me. I had to schedule a 2nd appointment to fit my night guard, which was about 1 week later. The morning of my 2nd appointment, I needed to be in West LA by 9:30.
