Had breakfast in this cute old bed n breakfast. The menu was limited but the prices are perfect for your vacation budget. I really enjoyed the many options in the buffet. The service was fantastic and the food was fresh and hot.

We went here for Mother's Day as treat the Saturday before Mother's Day to treat our Moms! They thoroughly enjoyed it! Service, wasn't bad overall we rate it 7/10. Front desk to check in 10/10. Our server Brielle tweaked that rating a little bit because although she was very thorough; I don't if she's just use to fast pace serving or what. We would've just appreciated it if she slowed down to take our orders and when we asked for stuff, if it didn't come off so pushy and hurry hurry type vibe. Out of that overall a great experience for our Moms and husband and I! Food 10/10! There weren't no complaints on that.

This place I will say is definitely a nice place for date. We had the option to eat outside with the beautiful view but decided to dine inside because of the wait. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered us hush puppies as a light appetizer which is such a southern thing to do. The grouper could have used a tad bit more seasoning but still was good and properly cooked. The fries with my marinated chicken was definitely the star of the show. Keep in my they have like 3 different menus depending on the time you show up. Our server was very attentive and made sure we always had refills when we were running low. I definitely would give this place a go and you should too if you're in town soaking up some sun!

This is a place where you go to for the view and not the food. We came here with a reservation to celebrate my birthday but honestly was still a bit stuffed from our late lunch. Complimentary hush puppies are decent. Seafood platter was a bit disappointing. There wasn't a lot of seafood on the plate. I think they have this labeled as an entree. It's lacking flavor too. The hummingbird cake is interesting. Never had anything like it! It has banana, pineapple, pecans and cream cheese frosting. The first few bites are good but it is a massive slice and my husband and I couldn't finish. If you come here expecting spectacular food, you will be disappointed. There is a parking lot only for guests of Sea Captain's House (so only park here if you are dining in or else you may get towed). There's a beach right behind.

My husband's boss brought us here for dinner one weeknight evening. His wife joined us and (of course) the company was paying. I believe he had made a reservation as we were seated immediately upon our arrival. We had a slight ocean view. Our waiter brought us our menus and water. Everyone but me ordered Surf & Turf ($48 each)...I didn't particularly want shrimp so I just ordered the filet ($47). When the food came out, we ALL had surf & turf. I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or if the waiter thought adding 6 shrimp for a $1 was a good deal (which it is)...but what if I had been allergic to shellfish? I didn't say anything though. The steak was just ok. It came with one side which was just OK as well. I think that I would have been even more disappointed if I had been paying the bill rather than my husband's employer. I had looked at the drink menu online before going and was very interested in trying the Blue Mule but it was not on the menu when we got ready to order. I asked the waiter and he had no idea what I was talking about. So I got a classic mule and it was really good. We got a second round of drinks and the waiter offered to make my mule spicy...which was just adding fresh jalapenos, but that was quite tasty! We finished our meal but were not quite ready to end the evening so we went over the bar that's also part of the restaurant. There I had an espresso martini which was not as good as the mule but better than OK. I wonder if we should have ordered seafood at the Sea Captains House? The bathrooms were lovely and quite clean so they had that going for them as well. Overall I was underwhelmed. The drinks and company were excellent though!

Nov. 2025 Sea Captain -- My wife and I were in town and decided to stop in for one of our usual visits. We sat at the bar (as we often do), had a drink, ordered some She-Crab soup and hush puppies, and shared a fish meal with rice. The bartender was very nice and took good care of us. The soup was very good, as always -- though, for the price, I felt it could've had a little more crab meat. The hush puppies were good too. For the main course, we got a pecan-crusted fish, but honestly it was a little heavy-handed: the crust was all over -- deep-fried -- instead of being simply broiled with the pecan topping just on top. The sauce helped a lot, though, and the fish was tasty; the rice was just rice. Next time we go, we'll probably try a different main course along with the soup.

The best part of this restaurant is the atmosphere. It's in an old, historic house and there's a great porch with views of the water. The food was average, nothing special. Key lime pie was really good! Service was quick and attentive.

Came here with my friend (we were from out of town) on our first night in for a nice dinner. We were seated by a window which was lovely to have a nice view. Our server was a sweet heart but I unfortunately forgot his name - order gentleman.. so kind. Honestly everyone in the restaurant was so sweet - we were about the last table there & my friend unfortunately fainted and everyone made sure she was okay and brought her drinks/cold towels. I appreciate them all! That happened at the end of our meal so we fortunately were able to enjoy ourselves beforehand. The food was DELICIOUS! We were craving seafood and that's exactly what we got. No disappointments/complaints whatsoever. Love that they give yummy little hush puppies for starters as well!

We went on a girls trip to MB and we went to Sea Captains for dinner. We called to make a reservation and they do not take them for parties over 6, but told us to arrive before 6 and we would be able to get a table. We were seated immediately outside when we arrived. There was live music and amazing views. I ordered the Caesar salad and added chicken. It was sooo good! Everyone's food was delicious. The one complaint we all had were the drinks. They were brought out in plastic cups so they didn't stay cold. We had excellent service and we would all go back!

We had another outstanding meal this year when visiting Myrtle Beach with our brother and his wife. We were seated on the enclosed patio overlooking the water, and it was beautiful! My husband and I both had a cup of their she-crab soup. It was thick, creamy, and delicious, with chunks of crab and a hint of nutmeg. For our entrees, he had the Cioppino and I had the Avocado Seafarer, both repeats from our last visit. I liked the simplicity of the Avocado Seafarer -- it was healthy and yet very tasty. The Cioppino had a rich broth and was full of seafood. Both were winners! I asked our server if the bar could make an elderflower gimlet, and it was outstanding. My husband's Minty Mule was good as well. Our server went out of the way to make us feel welcomed and to accommodate our requests (like my brother-in-law's request for vinegar for his fries, and my elderflower gimlet). She was delightful, and made our experience special. Parking was a breeze, with two (free) lots just across the street from the restaurant. We'll definitely return again next year when we visit MB with family!

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and it didn't disappoint! From the moment you walk up to this cute quaint cottage you are warmly greeted with southern hospitality and charm. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat on the covered back green room With a beautiful view of the ocean! You're welcomed with an appetizer size of warm hush puppies and honey butter! Plenty of seasonal cocktails and drinks and a whole lot of great seafood options! Service was very quick. A team approach is what we saw and we never waited long for food. Very fresh high quality seafood. I was skeptical about the fries scollops but they were just fried enough to still enjoy the pan sear quality. Thanks to the team for recognizing I we were celebrating a birthday! Sorry I'm posting the after picture of the dessert it was so good! Highly recommend this place for an amazing seafood experience and great dining!

Drink Menu. Mermaid Water was bright green and too sweet, but there were several other choices.

Historic buildings, several levels and a hotel, it has kept its classic charm. We came early, without reservations on a weekday... we were quickly seated, which was a pleasant surprise. The large dining area has plenty of natural light and looks out to the ocean. There are several levels and it was just starting to fill up at 5pm. Very pleasant, nice servers, our server offered suggestions of Crab Cakes and drinks. Lots of fresh fish choices. Crab cakes were full of crab and not much filler, would have liked more flavor- seasoning, bread crumbs, onion etc. perfect for a purist. There is an outdoor bar area, lots of chairs, tables, umbrellas, with live music.

Do they offer an early bird special?

    I don't believe so

Do you have gluten free pancakes? That was an option once, along with sugar free syrup

Hi Michele, Unfortunately, we no longer offer gluten-free pancakes.

What is the cost of the buffet?

I believe there is no buffet here, except for breakfast, but the food is really good. Don't waste your money on the buffets serving water logged seafood. The clam chowder is a must have!

Are there gluten free dinner options? GF Desserts?

Hi Caroline K., we do have a gluten free dinner menu. However, we do not have gluten free desserts.

Does anybody know if this restaurant has on-site parking?

We were there this summer. There is a parking lot across the street for the restaurant.

Is this place any good and what are the price ranges?

I was there march 17th the prices are hight but quality was not. Ok for apps and drinks.

And it did not disappoint. The crab legs were the highlight--always stocked, served warm, and cooked really well. I tried a few other items that were just okay, nothing super standout, but for a buffet the quality of the crab legs alone made it worth it. We waited about 20 minutes in line to be seated, which wasn't bad, but just a heads up--there wasn't really anywhere to sit while waiting, so that could be a bit tough for anyone who needs accommodations. The desserts were also pretty good, and the place itself is huge. I loved the design details--everything has a nautical/boat theme, even the buffet stations and tables, which made it feel unique compared to other buffets. Service was great. We just had water, but staff constantly came around refilling drinks, clearing plates, and taking away crab leg shells, which made the whole experience smooth. Overall, we left full and very happy--definitely worth it if you're a crab leg fan!

We decided to sit at the bar. The server greeted us promptly, took our drink order, and gave us time to look over the menu. When she returned with our drinks, she explained the specials. My wife ordered the boneless rib roast (I believe that's what it was called) along with the asparagus soup. I ordered the deconstructed Wellington, cooked medium rare. When we arrived, there was only one other table, though a few more couples came in shortly after. I will say up front -- don't be in a hurry. They appear to cook one table at a time. Many of the entrées are served under a smoked dome, which I assume is for presentation. While it looked nice, it didn't add any flavor. My filet and the mushroom-stuffed puff pastry with demi-glace were served with the smoke, but the mashed potatoes and asparagus came on a separate plate. I didn't really understand this, as there was plenty of room to plate everything together. My wife's beef was served on top of her mashed potatoes in a bowl. The asparagus soup was ok needed some more seasoning for sure kind of bland wouldn't get it again. Once we started eating, my wife noticed her mashed potatoes weren't very hot. I checked mine and found that even in the center they were only warm. I asked the server for additional demi-glace since what I had was cold. While waiting, I cut into my steak. I first tried using the butter knife, which didn't work, and had to switch to the steak knife. The meat was cooked great and was tender, but slightly tougher than expected. When the demi-glace arrived, it was still not warm, so I asked for it to be heated again. The second time it came back steaming, which helped warm up both the potatoes. Overall, the food was good, but temperature was the main issue. I could understand this if multiple tables were being served at once, but we were sitting at the bar watching the kitchen, and only one table's food was being prepared at a time. There were two people cooking -- one handling apps and salads, and the other working on the main courses. Perhaps if they worked together, food could come out faster and hotter. That said, we will be back. The food itself was good, and several other dishes we saw going out to other tables looked very good as well. And the desserts sounded good. One star taken away because of the food temp. otherwise 5.
