Great place to stop by for burgers! We were fortunate enough to not have to wait at all for a table on a Saturday night which was surprising. Our waitress was awesome and came over quickly to get our orders. We started the evening with the Cheese curds which were to die for. They were perfectly crispy and the inside was nice and gooey. The dipping sauce complimented the cheese curds really well. It was so good, we ended up getting a second order for the table. For entree, I got the Flipside burger which is extremely flavorful. The combo of the onions, cheese and bacon make for a great flavor profile. It was delicious. I like the fact that the bbq sauce came on the side so you can control how much sauce is on the burger. I was way too full for dessert, but the milksakes flying by looked really good. And you can booze them up if you like which is nice. Overall, solid place for lunch or dinner. read more

I came here for a burger and left with a hankering for more Oreos! If it's busy and your party is small give the bar a look, it's open seating and can help avoid a long wait. I also ordered the one red door burger, and although it's a crowd favorite, I only thought it was just ok. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was far more satisfying to me, had nice and crispy chicken (shocker!) and slaw and it was delectable. Now, for the part you are all waiting for, the Oreo Milkshake. I want to inject that s*** into my veins. I was tempted to get a to-go Oreo shake, but the frigid weather outside scared me. Food was great! We had a party of seven, and we were seated quickly. Our food came out fast, even with all seven of us ordering different items. Kyle, our server, was awesome and went above and beyond to rush a milkshake so we could take it to go. Inside, the restaurant was clean, had all the good Colorado vibes, and was very updated inside. Stopped in for lunch after checking out the snow sculptures and were seated right away. Ordered some drinks and food - service was good (except for the Denver bashing) and waited for our food to arrive. When my chili chees fries arrived the cheese was not fully melted and my food was "warm" instead of hot. My husbands burger and fries were fine and my daughters Mac n cheese with chicken was ok- it just really lacked salt (the chicken, sauce & noodles were bland). Dinner here was fine, if not a"somewhat underwhelming. I thought my wild mushroom and Swiss burger was ok. My wife was unimpressed with her impossible burger. Fries were fair; truffle fries (once we got them) didn't make much difference. The Mrs. described her Oreo shake as 'maybe the worst shake she ever had'. Toppings aren't mixed in. Literally just thrown on top. My Chef's shake tasted like an overpriced Wendy's frosty with some pretzels stuck in the top. Shouldn't a shake have whipped cream? Service seemed indifferent to have us there and even seemed to push us to get our shakes to go, I'm guessing so they could go home, as we were the only customers there even though it was 7:30. Excellent staff. I tried their world famous(!) chicken pad thai. It was very heavy, but tasty. It is more of an american version of the pad thai. It was a cozy restaurant. I would definitely go there again for the friendly staff, if not for the food. read more

My family and I stopped in Flip Side on the first evening of our vacation when we arrived in Breck. We wanted something casual and saw the normal bar food- burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc., so we figured this was perfect and it sure was! I had the Coney Island Corn Dogs and believe me when I tell you these were the BEST corn dogs I have ever had! Not your average corn dogs at all. Trust! These are 4 premium hand-battered dogs served with a 3 blend mustard sauce. I wish I had pictures but we were so hungry and excited to try our food that it slipped my mind. We also tried the truffle fries, which were very good, as well as the onion rings. The onion rings are thick cut battered so it may be a preference thing for some but we enjoyed them! Not safe for food allergies & celiacs I tried to eat here today. There were multiple points in this story at which this cluster of a review could have been avoided, but they really just kept making shit worse for themselves in what can only be described as a bamboozling level of negligence, incompetence, and disrespect for food allergies. TLDR: they made a critical error when handling a food allergy, actively hid the error, blew off the error when they got called on it, then gaslit and pressured me into trusting them to remake my food when I said I did not feel safe eating there anymore. When I arrived with my boyfriend I explained to the waiter that I had celiac disease and could not eat gluten. I ordered a burger that had crispy shallots, he informed me that they had gluten but they could easily prepare it without the shallots. He also told me that the fries were made in a dedicate fryer (huge win for celiac girlies). As our food comes out, I notice the waiter pluck something off one of the plates (with his bare hands, which is kind of gross) and hand it to another waiter, who quickly scurried away with it. The waiter says nothing when he gives us our food, and I quickly notice a crispy, gluten-y shallot right in the middle of the truffle fries I was quite excited for. Critical error #1: hiding a massive error. If he had said "sorry, there was a miscommunication with the kitchen, I'll get this remade" I would not be writing this review. My boyfriend starts eating, and we try to get the attention of the waiter, who studiously ignores us, even though it's quite clear that I am not eating. When my boyfriend is basically done with his burger, I finally take my plate of food up to the bar, inform the server I had seen him remove something from the plate, and that there were crispy shallots on my food. His response was that "it was in a ramekin." Critical error #2: completely blowing off massive error. Saying sorry and owning up to the error might had at least made this review less scathing. I try to get the attention of the host, other staff, literally anyone so that we can pay for my partners food and leave and everyone is avoiding us. Finally, the manager of the restaurant shows up. I explain what happened, state that we just want the check and to leave. To his credit, the manager admits the mistake and apologizes. He then says that he will personally ensure that my food is prepared safely. I politely decline and say that I do not trust them when my health is on the line. The manager insists repeatedly that I can trust him. I repeatedly tell him we just want the check. It's clear that audacity was on sale at Costco, because this man refused to take no for an answer in a way that was almost comical. I have never felt more pressured and uncomfortable in a restaurant (seriously, even my worst Tinder date was better). It's unclear why he was so adamant that I could trust him, because no burger could possibly be good enough to make me feel remotely okay with how I was treated. Eventually, he lets us leave without paying for my partners food. Critical error #3: refusing to accept no for an answer. My partner said his burger was good, so there's that. If you've made it this far in the review, my favorite celiac safe spot in Breck is Castaways Cove. read more

A solid place to get food in Breck. We didn't have reservations prior to the day so put in our names early in the evening for dinner later. Worked out pretty great. In the meantime, a couple of us nabbed some seats at the bar to hang out for a bit. If there were anything that went a bit awry with our evening it was this. We must have been sitting there for 15 minutes before we could even order. I think the bartender was trying to do too many things ... short staffed maybe? She definitely seemed busy and ... ah ... direct. Very focused. Still we did eventually get our drinks and they were in fact very well made. Enjoyed a smoky pomegranate margarita and a manhattan. Our dinner party consisted of twelve people. No small feat to get a group of that size in there ... yet they had a neat little nook with a long table that supported us perfectly. Important to hit the bathroom before you sit down though. Which we did. The waitress was excellent. Patient, friendly, and happy to offer thoughts/advice. That plus an effective back of house meant that our food came out quickly, correctly, and deliciously. Food can come out deliciously right? That's a thing? Yeah that's a thing. I'm sure of it. Most of the table enjoyed the burgers which were well gobbled all around. How some of the kids ended up having space for shakes, I haven't the vaguest idea. But who in their right mind orders Pad Thai from a burger restaurant? Well, we did. At lest, one of us did. Turns out--it was good! Not exactly what you might think of when you think pad thai ... but if you're willing to be flexible you'll enjoy the pad thai vibes while eating something tasty. And yes, I ordered a burger without a bun. "Naked on lettuce" they called it. This isn't a bowl of greens with a burger on top. No. Instead, imagine a burger with lettuce and tomato. Now disappear the bun. [floop sound] There you go. That's it! It was just sitting there. Naked. On lettuce. And a tomato. But hey, it was good. It was all good.
