My service experience at the Gold Pan began when I sat down in the front cafe at the only table available. Then I waited. And Waited. And then I began to bus the table. We loved the Gold Pan Saloon. Our waitress was amazing and our food order came quick. We tried a couple of their red house wines from tap. It was a perfect semi- sweet wine. They had a happy hour and we ordered a pork slider and a chicken slider. They were very good and nicely presented. For dinner, I ordered the Cobb Salad with chicken and my wife had the Burrata and a bowl of French onion soup. When our dishes arrived, I had to double check to make sure I wasn't at a 5 star restaurant. The dishes were presented as such. The flavors of our food were just as top notch. Check out my pictures. We heard there would be "live music". Apparently that means one guys with a guitar. The chips and queso were good and the drinks were strong so we stayed a while. The Gold Pan Saloon protects their rich clientele and allows visible assaults to occur within their walls. I was at the Saloon after Ullr Fest and a woman assaulted my friend by grabbing his throat forcefully and without consent. I approach the head of security, Raul, and told him that my friend was assaulted. He immediately sprung into action from behind the bar to assist. After pointing out the older woman and her Australian husband/boyfriend, Raul froze. He said "they're here every night, they wouldn't do that". He fully defended them without seeing what occurred and allowed them to stay. Why leave the bar top in such a rush if you didn't see it? He planned to help only until he saw who the assailant was. After a different friend of mine confronted the woman, she began crying and admitted that she grabbed my other friend and was sorry. Regardless of what the woman said, Raul failed to act as head of security. Had it been any other patron, one that he didn't know, people would be on the street and maybe the police called. Raul's reasoning was that there were owners present and he didn't want a scene. I think the fact that owners were present too also shows that no one is accountable for what occurred. If that couple is "there every night," then Raul and the Saloon team are complicit in allowing this behavior every night. This Saloon has failed to keep patrons safe and will only protect those with money in the town. What if this situation occurred to anyone else or the other way around, do they allow it to happen because you buy a few $5 beers each night read more

This is a really cool spot. Really cozy and warm. Very cool historical decor and a very casual but comforting place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The servers were incredibly nice and very attentive. I had an issue with the cook on my burger and they quickly replaced it. The food was quite good. Very simple and classic food but done really well. The menu fit perfectly with the atmosphere being classic and cozy. I see all the good reviews and hoping we just hit it on an off night.... We headed to Gold Pan Saloon after a cold rainy hike. My husband had been there before so we decided to try it again. We walked right in and sat down. There were 2 high top tables with "reserved" signs so we had to sit up front by the live music. I love live music, but where we had to sit was very loud. Once the live music ended, they took the "reserved" signs off the high tops. No one ever sat there. While we sat right down, someone handed us menus... then no one waited on us. A server went to the table next to us - and those people sat down about 10 mins after we had sat down. He continued to walk right by us. We finally flagged down the girl who brought us the menus and she said she thought the other server was taking care of us. Ok... a mix up but still. Food and drink: I ordered the "tap" cabernet sauvignon from the winery next door. It was not good. $12 for a glass that I couldn't drink. I ordered my burger medium well and it was more like medium or medium... lots of pink. It was just so so. My daughter-in-law's boyfriend ordered the same burger and he agreed his was just ok. Everyone loved the french onion soup... so there's that! All in all it was an ok place. I'm not sure we'd go back. There are lots of restaurants on that Main St in Breck. read more

My wife and I ate lunch here this week and it was a disappointing experience. And expensive. Our waitress was very nice - but all of the food was a big letdown. We ordered a bowl of Pork Green Chili, the pork tacos, a Cuban sandwich with house-made Cuban sauce, and a root beer. Obviously the pork in all three dishes came from the same batch because it was dry and tasteless in each dish. And the house-made sauce on my Cuban sandwich appeared to be nothing more than hotdog mustard, of which there was way too much. Nothing close to any Cuban sandwich I've ever had.
