Peppering bites.....it comes with 3, forgot to take pic earlier

5 stars for service but the food was okay. The guy was super nice and friendly. Inside seating available and soda machine nearby. I think the pizzas would have tasted a lot better if we ate them fresh from the oven and eaten right away. By the time we got home, the dough was hard and tough. The toppings were good but it was hard to bite down. The crust was rock solid. If it wasn't for the dough, we would have loved the pizzas. The overall flavors and toppings were delicious. My suggestion, eat it right away inside. The people that work there have always been super helpful and friendly!

Edit: We drove back to return the salad. Management was very nice and apologetic. We declined a new salad and expected simply a refund for the salad, however they comped the pizza as well. To answer the question below, management cares. We truly hope it's a better experience in the future because it's a part of our local restaurant repertoire. Original Post: We've been going to this Pizzacato location in LaCosta for over five years. And we just spent $16 on their large artichoke salad. And half the lettuce is brown and slightly slimy. Do the employees or management care at this location anymore?

Over cooked pizza. Cheese is hard and cold.

The owner Jason Bennet Black list customers from delivery orders for not leaving a tip for the delivery driver. It's especially shocking during these times of Covid-19 that a company would black list customers for something this petty. A lot of people right now during these unfortunate times are even lucky enough to have the money to eat out at all. I called the Encinitas location to let them know that the cheese on the pizza was over cooked and the pizza had no sauce on it at all. The Pizza also arrived cold. It was like eating rubber and I couldn't get past eating the first few bites. The manager Anthony said, "do you like your cheese soggy?" that was his response to my complaint which was very unprofessional and rude. After asking if I could either have them remake the pizza or refund my money since this pizza was going into the trash he said, he would give me a free pie on my next order. A few minutes later I get a call back from Anthony saying that he talked to the owner and the owner is Black listening me from future deliveries for not leaving a tip for the delivery driver. I can't believe that a company would Black list customers for not leaving a delivery driver tip. It's completely shocking and disturbing to me. Anthony also said that the owner told him that he called me and told me that customers are required to leave a tip but I never talked to Jason Bennett. I was also told that I've never left a tip for the delivery driver and that's a lie. I leave a tip when They give good service and in this case they did not meet my expectations. When I asked Anthony to look at my account, he said that he did not see an account for me and he could not see my past orders. I have not ordered from Flippin Pizza in like 6 to 8 month so where is the prof that I've never left a tip? The pizza quality has been so bad and that's why I stopped ordering from them but decided to give them another chance. Big mistake obviously. I'm Black listing Flippin' Pizza from my list of restaurants that I will be ordering from in the future. Like me, I'm sure you will lose a lot of other customers once they realize that they are forced to leave a tip or be Black listed from future deliveries. That's really bad for business and customer retention. If you really cared about your employees then you would pay them more money instead of relying on the customer to leave them tips to compensate their income. Stop pretending that you care about your employees. The only thing you care about is your own pockets. Truth

Customer was upset that the ranch was missing with his delivery order and that the Pepperoni Rollups weren't as good as the LC location.

Deliciousness. One of my favorite places in Encinitas and the best place in north county to get pizza by the slice, hands down.

There was lots of parking on the other side of the street and we were greeted by a friendly waitress. I tried the gelato. Vanilla gelato was creamy with a rich, sweet vanilla flavor. I loved the smooth texture and bold vanilla notes. Lemon sorbet was icy with tons of sour lemon flavor. Best in small quantities. I'm glad I got one scoop of each. Service was friendly and efficient. I will miss our monthly adventures to places I have not visited before.

It's a solid neighborhood restaurant, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. We ordered two pizzas: a gluten-free Margherita and a regular Margherita. One thing that immediately stood out was how similar the two crusts tasted. Both had a comparable level of chewiness, which was surprising given that one was gluten-free. The gluten-free crust lacked some of the wheaty, earthy flavor you'd expect from a traditional dough, but overall I was genuinely impressed by its texture and quality. It's one of the better gluten-free pizza crusts I've had. The pizzas are Neapolitan-style and generally enjoyable. The dough itself is well made, though I would have preferred a bit more chew and structure to take it to the next level. My biggest criticisms are the sauce and cheese. The sauce was applied too sparingly, leaving the pizza without enough moisture or cohesion to tie the different components together. More importantly, the flavor felt one-dimensional--mostly salty, without the rich tomato sweetness, depth, and complexity that make a great Neapolitan pizza memorable. But I want to be fair. Judging from the photos posted by other Yelpers, some of the pizzas shown have a good amount of pizza sauce. I need to try the food again and update my review. As for the cheese, the fresh mozzarella on the Margherita didn't quite meet expectations. The slices had a firmer texture than I typically associate with fresh mozzarella and lacked some of the soft, creamy moisture that helps create that signature melt. The flavor was also milder than expected; instead of delivering a pronounced milky richness, it tasted somewhat diluted. This may be a minor criticism, but on a simple pizza like a Margherita, where every ingredient is on display, these details become much more noticeable. Overall, Buona Forchetta serves a respectable Neapolitan-style pizza, and its gluten-free option is particularly impressive. However, the underwhelming sauce and mozzarella kept the pizzas from reaching the level I was expecting given the enthusiastic recommendations.

They were clearly short staffed on Father's Day, so I allowed for that. However, when you're sitting there forever and 3 wait staff are going by you several times and can't even say "someone will be with you shortly ".....not a word. Funny thing is the patios were fairly empty. We would have left, but again we've loved the food here for 14 years so hung in there. Then big mistake was sitting across from the pizza oven! The hostess, who I have to say is an amazing employee, she was literally doing everything. Seating people, cleaning tables, answering the phone, cleaning the stuff off the pizza area, bringing clean pans, getting drinks, etc. BUT she was using those nasty old rags to clean the table, touching the cash register etc., never washed her hands and then she was grabbing handfuls of the fresh basil and ripping pieces and putting them on the pizza, then posting the pizza with her fingers to maybe check it wasn't burned on the bottom? I was literally dying watching this, I'm not even a germaphobe. Then I watched the other waiter who wears dirty baggy jeans wipe his hands in his pants and also manhandle the basil in the same way. So gross. I saw another party get mad because the pizza was not cut, they asked for it to be cut again....and then got angry because they still had to tear at it and everything fell off. When our pizza came....it was the same, but we dealt with it. We ALWAYS get the Butterscotch pudding, but at this point we just wanted out. Had to wait forever to ask for a box and check. I'll miss the old Blue Ribbon as I miss Craftsman sadly, but there are others with actual service, we gave them a chance the last time it was bad, but this is the 2nd and done!

I think this is a regular occurrence. When the doors open, everyone rushes to get bar seating, which is first come, first served. At the front desk, we checked-in and they sat us at a table in the main dining room. I let it slide since we didn't want to get the Happy Meal anyway, but also wouldn't get any happy hour drink prices. We ordered: * Berry Hot & Bothered - $18 * Societe Bulbous Hazy IPA - $10 * Beef Carpaccio - $29 * Ode-to-Swan - $34 * Johnny Cake & Caviar - $29 * Half-Baked Red Snapper - $48 * Peaches, Peaches, Peaches - $18 * Butter Me Up - $17 The cocktails were fine. Butter Me Up was the best (an espresso martini). The beer was good. The Peaches and Berry drink were very mediocre. Server did get us two small glasses of champagne for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The Beef Carpaccio was amazing. There is a TON of breadcrumbs so if you inhaled, you'll choke. But the flavor was fantastic. Would order again. The Ode-To-Swan reminded me of the Spanish Sashimi at Valentina. Only they put a metric TON of chives on it so you can't even see the fish. This is a huge mistake. The dish was okay but all I tasted was chives. I love sashimi but would not order this again. The Johnny Cake was good but way too sweet! It's basically a thick pancake with caviar on top. The caviar was very savory and the sea bass rillete underneath was smoky. I loved the flavor combination but we could not finish the dish. The half-baked fish was phenomenal. A stunner. Even with the foggy eyeball staring at you. Soo good, I only wished there was more of that sauce on the plate. Even at $50, I would order this again. Total was $270 after tip. They add a 4% surcharge on the bill which is not great. I would come here again but skip the cocktails. Go to SAGO across the street instead for some banger cocktails. Parking was sparse. Street level only. We had to park a block away but the walk was not bad. It was 69° so the weather was perfect. Service was good but our server was clearly trying to get us to order more food. We did not need a second entree or a plate of carrots or potatoes. I would come back, mostly to try new dishes. The food is expensive but interesting in a way you don't know what something will taste like. Please ditch the chives on the sashimi!
