Rating is due to service mostly. Arrived around 4-in between busy times. Our server brought our drinks, took order. I ordered Cheesesteak, asked for fries extra crispy. ( they were not) husband got order cheese fries (also ordered crispy, they were not) nor did he receive his ranch which comes with fries) server dropped it off and split before we could say anything. Our drinks were 1/2 full which went unnoticed. Did not see her again for a long time. When she did appear we asked for ranch & refills, she got both, & charged us for when it comes with order. (we had her remove it.) She thought it was extra because husband was eating my horsey-mayo. This really was the worst service we have had here- ever. Calling it service is reaching. It was not busy, so not a case of server being overly busy with many tables. She was just not in sight for most of our meal. read more

Ambiance - 10/10 great music and atmosphere. Knew pretty much every song they played, lots of modern rock (black keys, white stripes, weezer, etc. Food - 9/10 My chicken tenders were very good, my dad's hamburger was tremendous, one of the best he said he's ever had. First time to flips. Loud sports bar, clean, large screens everywhere. Not enough wait staff, but they were polite and working hard. Overall, the food was fresh and good. The three of us agreed their products were homemade. Considering it was 11:30 on a Thursday night, about half the place was closed. I suppose that is expected and this place is huge. I had blackened fish tacos with home made potato chips. I am convinced the fish wasn't blackened. Looked grilled, which is ok. They put thousand island sauce on the tacos, not too crazy about that. The homemade potato chips were great. One daughter had a french dip with onion rings. She said it was good and the onion rings were great. The other daughter had a border burger. She said it was really good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. If you like a huge loud sports bar, you can't beat the home made bar food. Not bad, but not my cup of tea. read more

Flips has a good happy hour, good food and the environment is always fun! The only thing that they need to desperately change is the customer service! I have never seen so many rude serves at the same restaurant! I went yesterday to have some drinks and dinner with friends and when we got there there were not any tables available... the front girl wasn't helpful and just said w"well there is no tables , you can wait in the bar and try to find something downstairs" WHAT?! Why she could not offer to help us find a table? I thought that was her job. Then our waitress was extremely rude, slow and didn't come to ask us for drinks constantly. We were there 2 hours and probably she stopped by 2-3 times. We would have ordered more if we had better and constant service This is not the first time I have had bad service in this location. Aside from getting my food out incredibly fast, the service was awesome. The food was delicious, arrived hot, and the fries were superb. You can tell that they're fresh by how they taste. First time here as a burger hunter. I found the Border Burger and Onion rings. My burger had 2 types of cheese with bacon guac and jalapeño ranch. I was happier than ever with this meal. All my favorites cooked just right and the crispiest onions around. I have it a 5 for food taste and quality even though I wasn't greeted when I came in and sat myself down along the large bar area where the bartender finally found me. Great location, nice spacious clean room with plenty of tv's. Also pool table and extra seating outside. I will have to visit again and try some wings or a another burger. read more

Don't sit at the bar when Bo is tending.. what a jerk. Totally ruined my experience. The fries were so dark, so I asked fir then To be redone. He responded rudely and ssid.. Well that's how they are done". Really? I had to ask for every single thing, line in my cape cod, vinegar for my yucky fish, dressing to dip the burnt fries in that I got charged for but never got.. on and on . Flips has taken a lot of the the better items of the menu, appetizers, variety of bread for burgers and sandwich. Food is still good and is still cooked well. Service was good also. Happy hour is really good. Seems like covid has made a lot of restaurants scale back menu items. Maybe someday it will get better read more

Disclaimer: I always sit at the bar or on the patio... Bartenders/patio servers are awesome! I know this restaurant cares about their employees, because the employees love their jobs, AND IT SHOWS! That says a lot about the upper management/owners. This is a great place for just about anything, couple drinks, watching games, patio night or bigger parties. Great food, great service, good times! Every time my boyfriend and I come here, service sucks unless we sit at the bar with the bartender we've come to know. We always wait 10-15 minutes before even being greeted, even though 4 or 5 servers pass us and look at us. We've had to get up multiple times to track someone down in order to even get a server to come to our table. If you want good service, not the place to go. Alexandra was our waitress the last time we went. She passed us multiple times and looked at us while we sat there and waited for 20 minutes. She only checked on us once which was after we were already done eating. read more

Such a disappointment, the meat tasted like it was yesterdays microwaved meat, the fries were such a total soggy mess that I didnt even attempt to eat one. I returned my food. Okay I have been here at least 4x but the last time I went, the service was a joke. The hostess, I didn't get her name but she has glasses and a little stout and she was so rude. She told my family and to find a seat in the back and we sat there and waited for a waiter to come to give us menus but they didn't come. So I went to ask the hostess how does the system down there work and she said "you just wait down there until a waiter sees you" and she said it like we were idiots. Like sorry woman. Arrived her at 5:30. Played a couple of games till 5:45 before I went and got my own drinks. At 6:30 I got my own refills. Still no wait staff. 3 other tables had to get their own drinks. So a total of 16 people people had to get their own drinks. I talked to Tim, the manager on duty, and he admitted flat out that the ball had been dropped. The only reason I didn't give them a 1 star rating was because I know this place is better than that. While writing this review, Kera the other manager came by to personally apologize for the poor service. She reviewed the tape and acknowledged that they had in fact dropped the ball. SCENERY: Holy cow is this place is like a dark lair of hugeness. It's dark, even in the daytime. Don't fear, there are no vampires, but only really DEAD giant animals everywhere. For a minute I thought I walked into Ted Nugent's house. The animals were real at one time and were bought from a museum. (I know that is a fact, because the little girl I was eating with HAD to ask the waiter, to my happiness) I have also been to the Flips in Grapevine, but this place in Fort Worth is new, big and pretty cool. FOOD: EVERYTHING IS GREAT. I suggest the Turkey Avocado sandwich, and you don't have to bother with fries unless that day you want fries. The chips are HOMEMADE. They are so yummy. Get a side of ranch to use to dip and you might reach heaven. They also have a small size cheese fries, which is nice when you don't want to gain 10 lbs. in one night. I happen to be a connoisseur of this dish, and I have to say it wasn't bad. They also have nice lovely salads. The queso is all right, I have had better. SERVICE: The service was great. Nice waiter, and he was good looking and that never hurts in my opinion. He was helpful, knew a lot and didn't forget to bring me a side of ranch. Good call. He also talked to the little girl with me, very nicely, and politely. I respect waiters who do not want to kill children. Sometimes, I think I would. He also filled up my pop without me asking. I don't like to go thirsty. COST: It's not bad. It's not too expensive, and the food is good. I know that they have $2.00 happy hour pints, and that is steal in this town. The Fort Worth and Grapevine location also have a nice patio, but I won't enjoy it until it's not 1,000 degrees outside and constantly sunny. Why sweat when you can look at a giant elephant instead? I can't believe it took me nearly a year of living here in Fort Worth, before I went into Flips. I've seen this place hundreds of times, as I drive by it all the time. My wife and her bestie made a few comments that they went to school with the owner at Texas Tech. I think my wife's bestie might've (word that rhymes with ducked) the owner back in the day... After coming to Flips about a half dozen times since football season, here's my take: The service, almost always, has been great. The one exception is when the owner was tending bar (bartender on break?), and he seemed more concerned with flirting with women, than tending to his bar. But, hey, I used to own a restaurant & bar, so this has been known to happen:) Other than that, service seems to be a priority to Management. The food. Granted, it's bar food, but it really is good. I've sampled a plethora of sandwiches on the menu, and have never been disappointed. Good food, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere. Here's where I guess I'm not a Texan yet. There's dead animals everywhere, accompanied with a slew of big screen tv's. Ok, it's a sports bar with taxidermy? A funny mix, if you ask me. I missed my flight due to a delay and was forced to stay in the Beymont Inn. I have never went to Texas, I gave up meat for lent, no need to be in Texas looking up for dinner options on a very late Thursday night but Flips was there to turn my frown upside down. The customer service was great, I loved LOVED my waitress, GREAT music, the customers there made me feel welcomed as well- very cool people- the only bad thing was that everyone smokes (I am sorry viewers, in Philly and in Cali- you cannot smoke in bars/restaurants) so I was forced to move to the patio which was still a great experience. Flips has big flatscreens and a huge fireplace outside, I didn't mind sitting out there at all. Since I couldn't eat meat I had a Tilapia sandwich which was really great! In addition I ordered a side of nachos and cheese YUMMMM, very fun to dip my entree in to the cheese. I am only rating a 3 because the drinks were A-Ok, nothing too special about them, kinda watered down if you asked me. The worse Long Island ever, they make it with Triple Sec instead of Tequila...how can you leave out the Tequila?! My 3 is a strong 3.....so I still recommend this place. Overall, good time, I would love to visit the area in more detail next time. ENJOY! read more

I'm giving this a two star instead of a one because I didn't actually get served.... although that seems like a good enough reason for a one star. I walked into Flips and was impressed. It's huge inside with lots of wood and natural light. I was thinking this might be the end to my hunt for a regular place to drink a beer and read my comics on Friday afternoons. I sat at the bar on the lower level and got excited about some of the beer options. But then I kept sitting. And no one talked to me. And the restaurant was basically empty, with just a couple of occupied booths and one group of guys playing pool. A waiter finally came to tell me that the lower lever bar was closed and I needed to go to the upper level. Low and behold, there are two bars in this giant restaurant! So I relocated to the bar on the upper level. And sat. And waited. And no one ever came to serve me. There wasn't a bartender behind the bar the entire time I was there, although there did seem to be plenty of waiters around. I waited long enough to get thoroughly annoyed by the very classy country music sung by a woman about the super fun night she had getting drunker than she'd ever been before. So I gave up and left. I'll probably give them another shot, as I was a fan of the Grapevine location, but this was not a good first impression. read more

HOLY Great balls of fire!!! Did you see the nut sack on that Brown Bear in the entry way??? I'll come back just to gawk!!! Came here for a quick bite before the Pep Rally at Saginaw HS... Steak quesadilla leaves something to be desired... but the Dirty Bird was beautifully glorious!!!!! The bathroom is awesome stocked with a couch to relax on and mouth wash. How friggin Rad!!! I learned my lesson and checked out the area on Yelp before deciding to head to Flip's for dinner. The genre fit perfectly since I am in Fort Worth checking out the Goodguy's car show this weekend. The spot had some good reviews. First impressions were good, the place is huge with a nice sized sit yourself patio, 2 large indoor bars, and a "family" seating area inside. TVs are everywhere in the place if you decide to sit inside. Jeff and I decided to grab one of the few open spots on the patio. We were there early, the weather was great, and the patio was nearly full already. The patio looks prepared for the middle of summer when it gets here. Fans all over the place with mister attachments on every one of them. Even in the seat yourself area, the staff located us right away and were asking how they could help us. The whole time we were there, they were very attentive. We had the fried pickles to start. They were good, really sour, and not greasy at all. I went with the Suicide Jack buger for my meal. Other than the buger being much more done than the medium I asked for it was also really good. Great flavor on the burger itself and the pepper jack cheese and other peppers added a nice amount of heat to the burger. A nice touch was the toasted bun. The price was right. So if you in the area and in the mood for some typical bar/grill style meal, this is a good choice. read more
