And great people to add to the service and ambiance. This time we had the (1) Texas Strip steak, amazing baked potato and veggies. And, (2) a beautiful brisket Enchilada plate with a queso sauce on one and a sour cream sauce on the other, with steamed veggies and wild rice. All so very good! Dessert: American hot apple pie and vanilla ice cream on a skillet, with some amazing sauce drizzled over table side. See the photos for that steamy concoction of flavor party! This ran me $75 ordering pickup from DoorDash ... Walking into the restaurant there wasn't anyone at the host stand to direct me to where I needed to go to pickup. But there's a sign for to go orders so I headed that way. None of the staff look you in the eye in hopes of avoiding helping you. And when the girl finally finished organizing her money she addressed me then handed me my order. That interaction alone would keep me from ever going back. The food- the burgers were enjoyed, the fries are a mound of floppy & oily potato strings. The chicken tenders were basic, and again floppy oily fries. The chicken fried steak was mostly salty thick breading with a small thick and hard to chew steak...but the mashed potatoes and gravy and pea salad were good. The onion rings are huge but again, floppy and oily. I'd say I'd give them another try but I don't want to waste my money on overpriced takeout!

Most recently we opted for some pancakes . Overall the quantity you get for the price is good but the overall quality is not always consistent. The first time we came my husband had piping hot mashed potatoes while mine were almost cold on one side. The next time we came the fries were no longer home fries but just your regular frozen variety. The time after that, one of the chicken fried steaks was a little gummy at the bottom, probably from an uneven fry. This is not to say everything else is bad, they just seem to have an inconsistent cook. Pancakes are good though. Service is typically okay, just like anywhere it depends on your server. If you happen to be seated in a... non assigned area... you may not get the most attentive service and flagging down a different server will just have to do. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. They also serve pies, giant cookies, and brownies. I do recommend really looking at the pies since the servers don't always know what's in the fridge, so when they say "thats a lemon pie' you may end up with a Buttermilk slice like we did. The brownies are also... not good... so I really don't recommend them. They don't really taste like anything... Overall an okay country kitchen, not overly bad but also not the best. They could use some tweaks and better quality control.

Attentive, friendly, and much more organized than before, which made the meal relaxed instead of frustrating. The pacing felt right, and we didn't have to chase anyone down for basics. The atmosphere is still classic Hoffbrau -- casual, old-school, and comfortable -- and this time it worked in their favor. I'm glad I gave them another shot. While there's still room to grow, this visit earned a solid 4 stars and restored some confidence. I'll actually be back again, which I didn't think I'd say after my first visit.
