I oversee the maintenance department for a property management company in Carlsbad and Flood Med handles 99% of our flood, mold and asbestos (testing & abatement coordination with 3rd parties) issues and they always go above and beyond for me. David and Glenn always carry a positive attitude despite what I know is likely a highly stressful job and they always find a way to make me feel like their top priority over the last 7 years or so working hand in hand with this awesome company. I asked 3 companies to take a look at the floor where I found mold. All companies came right as scheduled. The mold was on the floor, but the Fllod Med proposal was scrubbing the wall and ceiling also, and even offered to put Kiltz paint afterwards. I said I can put Kiltz myself -I have a lot of DIY experience, and was in my plan anyway. In the quote, other areas than the floor made over 3 times more than the actual area, and made it quite expensive. So, I called and asked if he can let me know the difference if it would be the floor only, and keep others in the quote. He got very angry all of the sudden, and almost shouted and said unless I would take as it was mentioned in the quote, there would be no discount. However, no actual price or discount rate was indicated in the quote. So, I never knew it was even discounted. He also shouted at me by saying, "Look, if you want to take a bit of this and that, and want me to just clean the floor, this is the price I give you, and that's it!" So, putting the Kiltz myself, and asked about the cleaning spot to be the actual damaged area than making it over 3 times more was I am taking just a bit of this and that..... Anyone can ask questions about the contents in the quote. All 3 companies offered the best they would do. 2 other companies responded to my questions with respecting manner. I believe he could do so as well. I guess unless the customer is an admirer of him or some sort, he won't take any question, and gets angry at you. read more

I am a big fan of these guys. I have two rental properties and both had water pipe bursts in the last year. Glenn and his crew were on it first thing and got the situation under control very quickly. They also coordinated with the plumber who fixed the line leaks. After the plumbing repairs were completed, Flood Med returned and restored everything back to original state. I then had to go through the process of working with my insurance company to receive teh insurance check which had my mortgage company as an additional PAYEE and then work the VERY PAINFUL process of working with the mortgage company to get them to endorse the check. Release of Liens, inspections, first born - all things i had to supply the mortgage company before they would endorse the insurance check. One of them took four months of back and forth to get signed - BRUTAL. The good news? Flood Med allowed me to make monthly payments until I received the check and paid them in full for their work. All in all - Flood Med is a great company. I hope to never have to use them again of course, But if I do, I will be confident that things will be done well and quickly. We had a leak under our sink while we were on vacation (these things only ever seem to happen while we are away...). Michael Carnevale from Eco Star Plumbing recommended Flood Med Restoration as the best team to come out and deal with the water which had seeped into and under our wooden floor. Glenn from flood Med came out within a few hours, tackled the water damaged area and set up some impressive looking equipment to dry the area out. Here is the best part - they have advanced equipment which meant they didn't have to pull up our wooden floor and destroy our kitchen. Using their knowledge and experience, they literally had the machinery suck up any water through the natural gaps in the floor boards. They managed the entire job without having to tear up anything (except the chipboard under the sink, which was beyond rescue). Dealing with water damage to your home is stressful, so I recommend using Flood Med as they will take care of everything in a very professional manner. read more

Glen and the folks at flood med gave us an estimate which was almost half of what everyone else was quoting... and yet their repair plan was MORE comprehensive than the others! First and foremost, it's important for me to note, that I've worked in the construction industry for 25+ years, constructing/re-modeling multi-million dollar custom homes. So I do have a vast amount of experience/knowledge regarding customer service, skilled quality work, delivered in a timely manner; as well as the little things, like doing the necessary prep work to protect the rest of the house and it's contents, as well as doing a thorough clean up at the end of each work day. I was thoroughly impressed with the core group of worker's from Flood Med, as well as their plumbing sub-contractor. I was home during much of the work, and I did my best to let them go about their work without micro managing...which was difficult. ; ) A guy by the name of the Glen, ran this small project, which included replacing the shower/tub enclosure, installing a new toilet, as well as drywall repair and re-texturing & painting the entire bathroom, sub floor repair and new linoleum and baseboard. The before/after transformation, looks amazing! The quality of their workmanship exceeded my expectations (which says a lot)! They also kept us informed of their work schedule, which they followed to a T. They arrived on the days and times they stated they would- which as most consumer's know, is a rarity in this industry. There were several worker's who worked inside our townhome- all of whom were very respectful, well mannered and professional. I can't remember all of their names, but one of the young men, was named, Jose (Junior). Junior did the drywall repair and re-textured the entire bathroom. He did an amazing job. He also installed baseboard around the entire floor (even around the vanity which didn't have baseboard around it before). It's the small things like this (not cutting corners), that speak to a company/worker's ethics. Plus, all of these worker's got along well and worked productively together. And then there was their painter, Big Mike. Big Mike, has to be one of thee nicest human beings, I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He's one of those "gentle giant" type guys. We totally hit it off; he's the type of guy who I would now go as far as calling a friend. Professionally, he did an awesome job prepping and painting our entire bathroom. I've had two experiences with Flood Med, and both were exceptional. In the first instance they brought in the full treatment solution for a flood that occurred while away on vacation. Their equipment that evaluated and treated the area was impressive, it took a great deal of work, but ultimately three years later there is no sign of trouble anywhere in the affected area. Nice job. Today, I had another great experience. They inspected a new affected area in a tight crawl space under the house for over 45 minutes, evaluating the issue with care and considering various options. Ultimately, they said my treatment plan was perfect and left without invoicing me. I know. It's crazy. These guys get the job done well, and put the customer first. Tom and Glen did a wonderful job of coming to our rescue when we had flood damage in our rental property. We had two pin holes leaks develop in the course of 3 months.  Both times, Flood Med was at our home the same day.  They did a thorough investigation as to the extent of the leak and damage, checking moisture levels, and was ready to have their team start immediately.   Tom handled all the headaches with insurance details and the communication was stellar.  He did an amazing job of walking us through the process. I had the unfortunate pleasure (only the circumstance was upleasant...they were awesome!) of having to see these guys at 11pm. They were professional and informative. They had to return several times to contain the problems the lake in my kitchen/livingroom/diningroom was experiencing! The had to remove 250 gallons of water that was leaking in thru myy foundation. I would recommend them to anyone in the area needing prompt, friendly and quality service in such an awful time. Even their co-vendors we needed spoke highly of them ! My wife and I had just got home blessed with a healthy, happy, new baby boy. We were welcomed by a broken pipe under the kitchen sink which had flooded the entire downstairs, and completely ruined our wood floor. About 7 days after I had switch insurance companies I received a phone call from my tenants and they told me there was water in the dinning room. Immediately knew who I was going to call because of all the great things I had heard about Flood Med. They came out immediately and not only indicated it was a slab leak but located another one underneath the sink in the kitchen. Due to the amount of repairs that needed to be done it made more since from a cost approach to replace all of my pluming instead of repairing the broken pipelines. Steer clear of this contractor. Unprofessional! Highly dissatisfied! A root in our sewer caused our toilet to back up and flood some areas in the downstairs. David and his partner at Flood Med came late one night to get started with heaters and lamps drying the walls. He was professional, helpful, and very nice. He planned on coming back the next morning to finish the work and begin pulling up the laminate panels. Unfortunately, the heaters kept tripping the circuit breakers all night long and didn't allow our family much sleep. The next morning David showed up with a new partner named Glen who introduced himself as the supervisor. Our 6 month old daughter was finally asleep upstairs after a long night. We asked if the guys would wait 15 mins so she could get a little sleep before they began demo so they wouldn't wake our exhausted daughter. Glen ignored our request and began his demolition. We then asked again, as he blatantly disregarded our 15 min request, to please try and keep the noise to a minimum if he could. Again he ignored our request and started ripping up floorboards and molding with a prybar. When we finally asked him to please stop he replied by telling us, "that we are only tenants in the home and not the homeowners so he didn't need to listen to us!" I have never had a contractor show such rudeness and disrespect to any customer all because he was asked to wait 15 minutes to allow a six month old baby to finish a nap. Glen at Flood Med Restoration is terribly unprofessional and rude. As a contractor myself I would highly recommend that you use extreme caution if hiring this company and the supervisor. The quote might be cheaper then other companies but in this case you get what you pay for. I would recommend you steer clear and highly avoid this contractor! read more

I found 1spot behind one cabinet..so i called Flood Med 4 one cabinet..they sprayed my whole house n made it all wet n destroyed my counter top, kitchen n loft, n laundry cabinets n billed me 4 work none exist, n 4 work not done..dry wall job poor. There are very few times in homeownership that a nightmare turns into a happy dream. My experience with Glenn at FloodMed Restoration was exactly like that. The disaster that started with waking up to a toilet on the upstairs bathroom leaking into the kitchen, ended with much needed new flooring. Glenn and his colleagues came promptly the morning we called and got started assessing the extent of the problem. I had a leak in my laundry room that spread to my kitchen and pantry last year. There was mold in the walls and floor damage as well. I called Flood Med on a Saturday and Glenn showed up within a couple of hours and quickly assesed the situation, worked with the insurance, got an estimate approved and began removing the mold and drying my walls within a couple of days. Flood Med was helpful and very professional throughout. They packed up my pantry contents in boxes and protected my kitchen while the remediation was in progress. Afterwards, they took care of the wall repairs, cabinetry and painting. They were done well before the flooring people even got started. I highly recommend them. read more

I saw what looked like mold starting up in an area near where I'd previously had a leak repaired, and was worried that it either hadn't been dried out properly or the plumbing repair job (done by a different company) didn't hold. Naturally it was Saturday. It wasn't really an emergency so I had low hopes for getting started investigating it that weekend, but called Flood Med to get the process started. Glen came out that same afternoon and measured moisture content in ceiling and walls all around the area, in the rooms above the area and to either side, reported it all dry with no evidence of an active leak. He treated the area with a fungicide, with the recommendation to watch it carefully for several weeks to see if it recurred, before ripping out the walls. I was happy to get such a rapid response and will absolutely call them if it turns out to require major remediation. read more

We've had to use Flood Med twice. Once on our rental and again on our own home. Both were old pipes leaking from the attic and down thru the ceiling or thru a wall and down to the 1st floor. It's because they did such an exceptional job the first time, that when the second emergency came up we knew exactly who to call. A 6:30 call got them here before 8, the pipe fixed by midnight and drying operations started that night. Every single worker was top notch, professional and courteous. The entire operation including drying, dry wall removal and replacement, carpet drying and repairs, electrical repairs, painting and insurance filing was all done within seven days. My insurance took twice as long to get process the claim (in full, I must add - due to the exceptionally detailed paperwork prepared by Flood Med) than it took to fix the problem.
