Totally screwed up my order. I had to go over to Floor and Decor to place my order since no one would answer the phone there last night. When I walked in there were five personnel standing there yet no one was able to answer a phone after being on hold for 15 minutes. I asked to speak to a manager ad was given Hanan to help me. I showed Hunan the oder on my phone and he put it in the system. Well the entire oder was screwed up when the contractors went to pick it up this morning!! I called Floor and Decor and they said Hunan would call me at 1130 when he arrived. It is now 1241 and still no phone call. I called again to speak to him and was directed to an answering machine!! This is really pathetic! First putting no one bothering to answer the phone last night, the order being input incorrectly by a manager, and no one returning my calls!! Last week I need a flooring transition and found the perfect one. They were all helpful and directed me to the right product. As I left, my car battery went dead in their parking lot. The entire staff rose to the occasion to help me. Brian in logistics was my savior giving me a jump with his car battery. He told me I could get my battery replaced at Autozone and gave me the address of the one that had my battery type! Mark the manager on duty, Craig and Joe were also terrific. read more

The F&D warehouse team is excellent. DO NOT USE "Installation Made Easy"!!! The on-site partner service, IME "installation made easy", must be avoided. IME installed my floor, tracked unremovable glue all over it ("we forgot to clean up") and after multiple executive reviews, determined that was "a job well done" and insisted I pay full price. The work was a quoted as one day job that took three days. This company has no moral compas. The contractors IME employs are not given proper equipment, and probably not paid fairly. This is likely so that management and corporate fat cats can continue to benefit from their work. read more

Bottom Line:  Lots of reasonably priced tile and flooring selections in a large warehouse setting but service isn't the best. After not finding everything we were looking for at the Gaithersburg Floor & Decor store my husband I decided to venture around the beltway to the Alexandria store. We had been told that the Alexandria store was much bigger and we may be able to find items that were out of stock at Gaithersburg. We drove an hour to get to this store. Here is what I liked about Floor & Decor: - The website makes it easy to do some research ahead of visiting.  There are  lots of filtering options (material, color, format, etc.) - The store is nicely organized - glass tile, natural stone tile, porcelain tile, hardwood floors, luxury vinyl etc. Also, the signage is great.  I appreciate that for the displays they have indicated both the tile and the grout used. - All of the tile seems very well priced which is what took us an hour out of our way for a second Floor & Decor store.   Of the various places I've looked Floor and Decor definitely has the best prices which is great for big projects. - We had to hunt for an employee on the floor to ask a question but when we found a live one he was immediately able to show us the tile we were looking for. - You can buy single pieces of tile if you just want a sample versus being straddled with a case.  Whether its a sample piece or extra you can return unused product. - Special orders are not required since all selections on display are in stock.  You just load up your cart and go. Here is what could have made this experience a tad better: - My husband and I had a return and we couldn't figure out where to go and it wasn't where the returns sign is. We were told to get in the regular line behind the red line on the floor. But then other customers walked right up to the registers to get helped while we were passed over standing behind the red line. I think Floor & Decor could manage this situation better. - For one of the tiles we wanted to return we were told it was already showing up as being returned so they would only give us store credit.  I have no idea why it would show up as already being returned but that certainly wasn't the case and this oddity wasn't my fault yet I couldn't get my original method of payment back. read more

Remodeling your home is a big deal and can be pretty stressful. Honestly, when I thought about all of the independence I could have when I grew up, I never imagined someone would count on me to choose a whole floor. What if I pick the wrong color, wood type, and mess up the look and ability to eventually sell my house?! The flooring area was seriously lacking. For a store with "floors" in their name, you'd think that they might have a greater diversity of options and maybe even just one person there to help you? The wall samples have corresponding numbers, and there are books that (in theory) should have a page per sample to tell you more about what you're looking at and to see a photo of the flooring in a room. About a quarter of the samples, however, don't have a book, and often don't have a manufacturers name on them so you could easily go online and find more key information and maybe some sample photos to help you imagine what it looks like in a room. Not having all of that in a book or on a sticker wouldn't be a problem if there was a single person there to help and tell you more, but after 45 minutes of waiting around and trying to flag someone down we left. I've found much better in the way of options and customer service at Lowe's. The pricing here seems pretty average, so I just don't see any advantages to buying flooring here. The contractor we were hoping to hire to remodel our home recommended Floors and Decor to us, and after coming here we are seriously questioning whether we want to use them. We definitely won't be spending any money here! This review is for the flooring and customer service. I think their tile and counter top selection is actually pretty great, and while we never had anyone offer to help us in any section, while we were browsing the tile area it did look like most folks were getting help. read more

Let me just say Shanea Smith is a top notch designer. I had been trying to figure out how to design my bathroom for months--8 months to be exact. I finally scheduled a design session with Shanea without expecting much more than a dry design session taking my time and leaving me with many unanswered questions. That was totally not the case with her. She genuinely showed interest in what I was trying to do. She asked questions to get a feel for what I liked and took it from there. She helped me choose colors, the best materials with those colors, gave advice on how the tiles should be laid for the best effect, trims to go with the tile, along with advice on decisions I need to make and not leave to my contractor to make during the reno. She's high energy and talks a mile a minute but in all that she imparts invaluable information. By the time I left the store, I was on a solid foundation on how to put my bathroom together. This place is a DIY'ers dream come true....or anyone who loves the type of stores that carry material for kitchens, bathroom, etc. One thing that stood out to me while in the flooring section...and I really REALLY loved...was the large display of each item (as opposed to displaying on a shelf that no one can reach). This allows customers to see it and feel it. I spent more time in the floor department, but briefly walked by the other departments. They have such an amazing selection of everything, which would also make it so overwhelming! They don't carry Pergo laminate, but do have their own brand, NuCore. Regardless of which material it is, they all come with detailed cards showing the cost, thickness, warranty, installation type, etc. Not only do they have a large display for each item, but the customers have the option to open up each display to view the actual package. There are also large sample strips available for $5, at least for the ones I viewed. I personally found it hard to select flooring based on a small board displayed on a high shelf and only have the option of a tiny sample, as is the case for other stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to be greeted by staff or receive help. I went on a Saturday evening, so I'm not sure if that's why no one was around to help. read more

My experience today at Floor & Decor was MORE than a 5 star rating. I'm currently renovating my home. I was sent to Floor & Decor by my contractor who has an account at that location. The ONLY thing I knew for sure was my design preference (simple yet classic design). As soon as I walked in I was overwhelmed with so many flooring choices that all I could do was push the cart. Associates Jay and Julius came to my rescue! They noticed the overwhelming look on my face. Jay asked me if he could be of assistance. As I explained my reason for being there Jay began telling me about the process of selecting items at the store. I asked if he would assist me b/c i was a little nervous and needed some assistance. As I was discussing my style preference out of nowhere came Julius just as helpful and informative. Julius lead me to a few tile selections that was my design style and also provided me with some VERY HELPFUL design suggestions. Both Jay and Julius put my mind at ease and I was READY to shop! I asked Jay if he could assist me while Julius was helping another customer. Jay "walked the beat" with me and all of a sudden all that looked so overwhelming to me when a first came in was NOT! After Julius helped his customer he came to check and see how the progress was going. I shared a few of my tile selections and asked his opinion and that REALLY elevated my shopping experience. As we "rounded " the finished line of selecting the tiles for my renovation Jay and Julius escorted me to the check out where i was met by their manager Preston. I told Preston about my experience today at Floor & Decor and how these two employees Jay & Julius not only elevated my shopping experience but made it fun! I purchased all of the tile and can't wait to return in a few weeks when I have to get more tile for my kitchen and recreational area in my basement. Thank you Jay and Julius! Next day..... so I had to go BACK to Floor & Decor today to get some additional items needed to install my tile. My ONLY concern was "Will I find helpful associates like I did the day before?.... Will I have the same/similar experience?"..... the answer is "YES!" and "YES" JUST as good as yesterday and again by TWO knowledge and caring floor and caring Floor & Decor Associates! "Joe from Pro" and "Pablo the Pro Premier Assistant Manager". Both associates greeted me with kindness. Joe was patient as I went to exchange one of the boxes of tile I purchased yesterday from another. Pablo assisted me with picking out the edge trim for my tile. I also spoke to Pablo about flooring for my project and thanks to Pablo I will be back in the next few weeks to purchase flooring! Great experienceand selections. We were doing a complete bathroom make over. I had a design in mind that was different from the standard look I've been seeing. I couldn't find the right pieces to bring it together. I sought out the help of the designers. They (sorry forgot there names) understand exactly what I wanted. We browsed the store together selecting several different options then narrowed down the options at the table. This was SUPER helpful. Love how our bathroom turned out. It was exactly as I envisioned. Also, there return policy is fantastic. Quick and easy. Had a lot of material left over to return and was freaking out cause I couldn't find the receipt. Finally I called to see my options. They found the transaction by simply capturing my phone number which the receipts are saved under in the system. The customer service is also excellent. All the employees we encountered was nice and the gentleman was helpful getting the material from my car to bring in to the store for return. My husband and I had an excellent experience last week at this store and with our designer, Shanea Smith. We are remodeling a primary bathroom, with the intent to sell in a year or so. Shanea listened carefully to our goals and guided to products that would appeal to the broadest range of buyers (but also really appealed to us). She guided us around the store to select tile for the floor and shower, always seeking our opinion, but keeping our remodel goals in mind. The appointment was focused, organized, and very productive. She kept our budget in mind and we were able to pick some beautiful tile for a great price. She has the gift of design and helped two "design challenged" people make some choices that we are really happy with. She is down to earth, high energy, fun, and a very good listener to get us exactly what we need. We actually had fun at this appointment (not the case with another designer at a different business)! We would not hesitate to reach out to her with any questions and we may go back to get her advice about further design decisions. Thank you Shanea! Exactly the kind of customer service we have come to expect from big box stores. Unresponsive, slow and unconcerned. Their system for filling orders is flawed. They charge to get an item sent from another store, in this case 50% of retail! So in essence I paid extra to *not* have a switch plate shipped to my house. I had a couple thousand dollars worth of materials ordered, supposedly for same day pickup. Not ready. Next day, not ready. Ok, I figure they're short-staffed; I'm patient. Next day, not ready, and the project starts tomorrow. Get on the phone, no answer. Call back, on hold for 6 minutes, hang up. Call back, no answer. Drive the 12 miles to the store. At the store, the dispassionate, mumbling young man explained that the order hasn't been filled due to an out of stock switch plate. That's it. ALL the tile, grout, sealant, mortar, etc. is in stock. We were not notified of the delay. (Obviously, if we had been, we would have picked up everything else.) So, I said I would just take everything that's ready and forget about the plate (the $hipped one). He said none of the order has even been pulled. He would get me a cart and I could get it myself, or come back in three hours. When I got home, I had an order confirmation with a pickup window that was two hours later than I'd been told at the store. Here are the system flaws. Why wouldn't you pull the stock for the order immediately? Why wouldn't you inform the customer of the delay, and the reason for it? Why wouldn't you answer the phone, and why didn't you have a manager working that I could speak with? And, while the handicapped parking spaces at the Alexandria, VA store were clear of snow, the walkways were not. So, I'll be going back to the store in five hours, on a Sunday evening, to pick up an order that should have been ready two days ago. read more

First time at the store. Beautiful inventory and a great variety; however, disappointed by the lack of staff available to provide customer service. I fell in love with a marble tile that was on display; but, I couldn't find it. Therefore, ended up with a porcelain tile similar to what I wanted. The cashier Cornelya saved the day by helping us find the threshold and niche we needed. Additionally, she helped my husband put the porcelain tile in the cart. All they need to get 5 starts is more employees like Cornelya that are willing to help the customer. Also, the designer who only works by appointments spent more than 30min with a customer that didn't buy anything. Awesome Selections!!! I have been trying to decide for months how I want my two bathrooms done so I decided to take a loonnngg drive to VA and check this place out. The parking lot was a bit hectic but it didn't take long to find parking. It's huge when you walk in and every one has to have masks to enter. Checkouts are socially distant and following all the covid precautions. They had rows and rows of flooring, you could be in here for hours!!!! I took my time and looked at everything. There is definitely something for everyone in there for sure! I will definitely come back because of the selection and their prices were good as well. If you are looking to upgrade, give them a try. So finally I decided to work on my long awaited bathroom remodel project. The number one hurdle was not knowing where to start from. So I started with Lowes and then Home Depot and walked out more confused than going in. Just when I was about to give up, a friend told me about Floor & Decor. So I decided to go to the Floor & Decor on Eisenhower Ave, in Alexandria. I was standing outside the store looking all confused and Julion walked up to me with the most friendly smile and offered to help. I explained my dilemma and he smiled and assured me that I was at the right place. This gave me a sense of relief and I did feel I was at the right place. Julion told me to go inside the store and ask for Tyrone and he'll guide me. Tyrone was extremely knowledgeable about the products Floor & Decor carried and he let me explain my project. From there on, he walked with me throughout the store and showed me pretty much all the relevant products. I was so impressed by Tyron's professionalism and knowledge that I know I'll make the purchase. So I decided to call my family to come and make their choices. Since we were all very new to this, Tyrone answered all our questions gracefully and with a smile. He explained the pros and cons (meaning if the tile is good for floor or wall, slippery or not etc.) of each tile my family and I pointed to. He helped us make our selections one by one for four bathrooms. This included tiles for walls, shower, floor and each was separate. This goes without saying I wish I could give This Floor & Decor and their very talented staff more than five stars here. Both Julion and Tyrone made my purchasing experience a very pleasant one. Poor customer service. I spent almost 2 hours yesterday waiting for someone to assist me. They claimed not having the materials I needed at the store. I purchased them at a different location to later find out that they had it at this location. The general manager thankfully stepped in and was able to find the materials in the warehouse. It is disappointing to see the staff not making an attempt to go above and beyond or maybe do their part of the job. I hate to say they are doing a mediocre job and no interest in providing good quality of service, but that was my perception. I understand they may have been tired since it was close to end of the day but there is still a job to do until the store is open to the public. read more

I had a bathroom renovation project during Phase I of COVID. At the time, the store wasn't physically open for customers to come in, but it was open to customers for online ordering and pick up. Ordering online was relatively seamless, and Keith, the manager was extremely helpful in making sure my order was correct. Once the store reopened for customers, I was able to return unopened boxes of unused tiles without any issue. This was my first time at Floor & Decor. I was met with a warm welcome from a supervisor and she asked me what were my needs I indicated that I wanted to get flooring for my kitchen so she replied I got just a person Bruce. I showed Bruce to sample that I had and we begin to walk the show room. He took the time to tell me about the different stones the porcelain and the ceramic tiles. He took the time to place tiles side-by-side so I could get to actual visual. He was very patient and his customer service was outstanding . I didn't feel pressured. Believe the reviews about poor communication if something goes wrong ( e.g., items out of stock) with your order. Takes forever to get someone on the phone. I was happy with the product once I got it, but you will not get status updates if you're waiting on a tile to come back in stock. A separate issue: DO NOT TRUST THE GROUT COLOR ON THE DISPLAY. I thought I was selecting the grout used in the display, but the one listed on the tag wasn't the same. Luckily, it still looked okay, but it wasn't one I would have chosen. When I mentioned it to one of the managers I basically got a shoulder shrug. She agreed it was really bad and was generally sympathetic, but just suggested "next time ask one of the staff." What!?! I pressed the point by suggesting they scratch through the list grout color, but she just sighed and said we'll eventually get to it. read more
