My husband & I was in this store just over an hour ago. And from our experience we had to write this review. We enter the store a found it very disappointing at first, because no one could or would seem to help us. Either they would point or did not the difference between the hardwood or bamboo flooring. My husband somehow ran into a guy name Rob. He was great. He answer our question without hesitation and let us know the differences between the floors. He also explain the underlayment (which we really didn't know much about). He left us feeling rejuvenated after what we had just experience. He let us know that he would be checking on us, once we came to a decision. While going over our paperwork (off to the side). It appeared that an Angle fell from the sky. Her name is Samantha. She was so amazing! She stop what she was doing and came to assist. This young lady should be the leader in customer service training department - worldwide. She stuck with us until we got it done. She went above a beyond. And even though we did not purchase today. She took the time to write everything down we needed to make the purchase in the morning. Floor & Décor, you need to change her title & give her a raises for her worth. Because of her, we will be back. And once we start our business, we'll be back to get her. So treat her right! I have to give all five stars to Samantha (Sammy with the hair). As a first time customer that doesn't have much to any knowledge on flooring, You expect someone in the store to help you the best way possible. I know what its like to work in the Customer Service field and to be a Customer. You expect to be treated the same way you would someone to treat you. Dont you hate when you go to a store and the associate doesnt know what you are talking about?! They say "Hold on let me get someonw that can help you" NOPE NOT Sam. Samantha exceeded Me and my Mom's expectations to the highest. She approached us first "how can i help you today?!" There was nothing she didn't know. You would think she was a designer. we showed her our floor plans and verbally told her our ideas. She grabbed some paper and pen and made ours lives 10x easier. We actually thought she was the "Designer". After so many trips, each time we visited this store, We demanded to work with Sam. Some times she wasn't available so it sucked like a spoiled baby that cant always have their way. We became used to one person and there is no one like her in that store that we have came across. Others are Good, but Sammy was GREAT!! If you are new to renovating your home and dont know anything from a can of paint, i highly reccomend you request Sam to help you. Nick at the Alexandria store was awesome! My wife and I are in the process of remodeling our bathroom and were overwhelmed with the selection process of picking tiles, style, etc...; We had visited Floor& Decor at the recommendation of our contractor. During our visit with saw that Floor& Decor offers free consulting on projects. So we went online and set-up an appointment (Very easy to do & the communications post were perfect (confirming appointment, etc.)). The night of the appointment we met Nick and he asked great questions to get a feel of what are tastes were, style, etc. Nick was able to provide great suggestions and insights towards our selection process as he was extremely knowledgeable about not only the various materials (pros and cons of using each), styles that are popular and lastly a great eye for design. Without Nick's help I don't know where we would be but because of his help, we love the bathroom tiles, grout and style that we choose and our stress level is at zero! Thanks again Nick for your great work and Floor&Decor for hiring great people, offering the services that you do and the incredibly large selection of materials you have to offer. Great store, I think they just open up, but my first time coming in is what is going to keep me coming back. I attended the grand opening and was a bit mad I didn't win the truck. So I was in the area and decided to see what they had to offer and I was blown away. I was assisted by a wood specialist by the name of Jerome. Great guy, I didn't feel like he tried to sell me something or anything, he took his time with me and I really felt like he was looking out for my best interests. Very enthusiastic, he listen to every word I said, I mean we talked about more than just floors and remodeling. Great ppl person, customer service was great too. I only felt bad because I didn't buy anything and I'm not sure if the employees work off commission but I plan on remodeling three homes this summer and guess who I'm coming to see when I get started. U guess it. Jerome. But overall the store was amazing and I enjoyed every second I was in there. I felt like a true vip, I was greeted by everyone and everyone was more than willing to assist me. Floor and Decor has poor customer service and is poorly managed. I placed an order online. I arrived at the Floor and Decor store at about 5:30 PM yesterday after receiving an email from Floor and Decor stating that my order was available for curbside pick from 7 AM to 6 PM. Given current events (COVID-19), I also checked the website and confirmed curbside pick-up hours for the Alexandria location were 7 AM to 6 PM. When I arrived, the store was closed. I traveled about an hour to get to the store only to find out it was closed. The store hours should be updated in emails and on the website to provide customers correct information. Had I known the stored was closed before 6 PM, I would not have traveled an hour each way to get to the store. Now I will need to travel to the store again and hope its open. I took time off from work and will now need to take more time off. When I called the Floor and Decor help line, after waiting on the line for over an hour, they told me it is what it is and they cannot do anything about it. Floor and decor products may be okay, but don't do business with them - if you run into any issues it will be a nightmare. read more

I've been extraordinarily impressed with Floor and Decor in the Alexandria and the Woodbridge locations! Not only is the tile selection amazing and affordable, but the design help I received was great. I was also able to buy samples, take them home, and return them with no hassle. The guy who took my returns was the fastest and most accurate of anyone I've ever witnessed. Most importantly to me, when our project stalled because of structural issues in our house, the management team helped us by being flexible but then, when we had to delay our project for structural repairs, they worked with us by reshelving our stock materials to avoid a storage fee but keeping our credit and order information. That way, when we were ready for our builders to pick materials up, Floor and Decor had it all ready for us. They also kept the materials that are not normally in stock in customer pick-up for me, notified me so I could get them, and thus save me from having to refigure any part of the project. No snootiness, no high prices, and excellent service! Hooray for Floor and Decor!! read more

When I first walked in the store I was a bit intimidated, the store is extremely big with a lot of products to choose from, which is great for my wife, but I wasn't too sure about me at first. When I enter the store I was greeted by the cashier, every employee stopped to asked if I needed help or said hello and to me that was a plus. Me and my wife are redoing our floors, so when I asked for help and told the guy in upfront he quickly called for a young man, early 20's, by the name of Jerome. Now I've shopped at Lumber liquidators for years and I consider myself a loyal customer, but when I was greeted by Jerome I felt a genuine welcoming, and his customer service skills far exceeded my expectations. He was knowledgeable on just about every question I had about wood, but he also was honest by letting me know he was still learning and didn't know everything, but he promise me if he didn't know it he'll get the answer for me and he did. I don't normally write reviews of the places I shop, but after a month of tile shopping and then a visit to Floor & Decor in Alexandria, I feel compelled to share my unexpected, positive experience. F&D is THE MOST wonderful tile store! It's filled with incredible selections at great prices, it's organized with great displays, and it has really helpful employees! Don't call them--they won't answer the phone, but go in there and they can't do enough for you! Shout outs to Darryl (Tile Specialist) who unsolicited and in the middle of his work came over to help lift twenty 53-pound boxes of tile onto our cart. We were so not expecting that! And the gifts kept on coming! Sir Donovan at the checkout counter was friendly and engaging, and Stephen (Sales Associate), also unsolicited, escorted us to our car and helped load it up. We sought out management (Mr. Eric) just before leaving to commend him on the store and his workers and couldn't have met a more friendly tiptop manager - he keeps the store organized and his employees and customers happy! read more

I would like to highlight the Alexandria, Va Floor and Decor location, as I deemed it necessary for the stellar customer service I received on yesterday! I went to the store to inquire about some flooring for a project and needed assistance. I am mad I didn't catch the name of the gentleman on the forklift to address him accordingly; needless to say, I asked could he call someone in the hardwood flooring department to help me and he immediately jumped off and called for assistance. Moments later I was greeted by Joshua, to whom was very friendly, knowledgeable, polished, and we very well versed in the product area. He even walked us to the register to seal the deal. That's when he passed us over to Ronisha, to whom was as equally friendly, polished and attentive to ring us up. Both very professional and a true demonstration of TEAMWORK! I was impressed by the selection and overall look of the store. Came in to just get an ideal of what they have to offer and I admit I was satisfied. Prices are low, customer service at this store is by far a lot more friendlier and helpful at the Alexandria Location, unlike the stores in Gaithersburg and Woodbridge where only half the employees seem to care. Also notice the Alexandria location store is a lot bigger with more options. I was helped by Robert and was treated so well I came back the next day only to find out Robert wasn't working, so I was bummed at first and just thought I'll browse but I stumbled across another wood guy named Jerome in the wood section of the store and again I was blown away by what great customer service I've experienced. These guys were very knowledgeable abt floor and you could tell they really are proud of their job. I will be coming back to this location even though it Woodbridge store is the closest. I am remodeling a bathroom and decided to go to the store because I wanted something different. However, I became OVERWHELMED with all the great options...I literally almost left because I really didn't know where or how to start! I never had this problem before when there was "too" much to select from. At this point, I visited the design desk and a wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, patient and pleasant lady name Teela Showers assisted me. She listened to me, assessed my needs, and recommended options and layout. Even when I wasn't too particular about something, she responded "no worries, let's find something else." My shopping experience was so wonderful that I had to tell management. If you're contemplating a home project and seeking design recommendations, pls visit this store and ask for Teela. When we set out to replace an entire bathroom, we knew we needed help. After hours spent on HGTV, online websites and our imaginations we visited Floor & Decor. We knew they had an incredible variety of choices as they had provided stellar service in the past for a flooring project. But choosing various tiles, surfaces and fixtures for a bathroom is more complicated. Fortunately we were lucky enough to work with designer Kioko, who listened to all of our ideas and concerns and then guided us through the process of selecting a long list of items necessary to the creation of a bathroom. She was extremely patient with us as we thought through each selection and I am convinced we would still be sorting through our decisions if she had not helped us. 5 stars to Floor & Decor and 5 stars to Kioko! read more

I love this place. The staff are so friendly. They are so plesant and nice.I was in the store on yesterday for the first time. It has an enormous selection. Ms. Teela Showers was very helpful. She actually helped me set up an appointment to help with my living room and bathroom design. The design person Ms. Shanea Smith is so nice, and extremely knowledgeable. She helped me pick out just the right mix of tile for my designs. She made sure that I had everything I needed to complete my design and have a fabulous look when it's done. I love love love her. I am going to make another appointment so she can help me with my design for my bathroom. I know that with her help that it to will be fabulous. We so appreciate Jennifer Scafide, Design Consultant at Floor & Decor, Alexandria. We had a couple of bathrooms to remodel and were feeling completely overwhelmed with the choices and materials we needed to select. Jennifer guided us through this process in a quiet and efficient manner without being pushy with her ideas. She listened and accounted for our ideas as well. Her suggestions were excellent and the tiles look great in our first bathroom remodel! We couldn't have done it without her! We needed to meet with Jennifer a second time to finalize our choices and purchase and she was very prompt and responsive in her e-mail communications as well. I am giving five stars to this business because one their employees named Darrin was extremely helpful even on this 90+ degree Saturday. I was purchasing marble tile for my bathroom remodel. The box was so heavy I was unable to open it to check for broken/missing tiles before purchasing. Darrin was able to lift the box and pulled the tile out for my review. He even waited with me at the register and plastic wrapped the extra tile to prevent breaking. Thank you to Darrin for bringing me a bottle of water while I waited and even walking me to my car and placing them in the trunk for me. He really went above and beyond to provide the highest level of customer service and make sure that all my questions were answered and that I had everything I needed for the remodel. Extremely professional, knowledgable, efficient and kind; Kibrom was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He will work with you patiently and really takes the time to make sure you are a happy and satisfied customer. A huge plus is that he is also very adept to the latest trends in flooring and has terrific taste so his input if you need it is high quality. Today I purchased all needed items for a shower renovation. The staff was efficient and professional. Frankly, I am overwhelmed in stores like this. When Lonnie saw that I was absolutely distressed, he walked me to each place where the tiles I needed were. What a gem. I found out later by an employee that he is one of the managers. Whoa! That is even more impressive to me because many times managers are NOT out working and helping on the floor. It's obvious employees love working for him. I found the product I was looking for online and went to the store to purchase the item that was listed as in stock. Turns out the tile trim I was looking for had been discontinued. Merveen helped me search for the trim, even after she had researched and discovered that it had been discontinued. Ben offered to search the store room for the discontinued trim, found it, and then offered me a great price for the discontinued items! All this was done 20 minutes prior to closing on a Saturday night when I'm quite certain both of them had somewhere else that they would have rather been. Tony at the Alexandria store went above and beyond to help me find the correct color of the pebbles/tile. Be careful, the display may not be the correct color of the actual tiles. Tony helped gather all the items I needed for my project. I asked what product I needed to make the pebbles the same color as the display... thinking I needed a sealant of some kind. It turns out there was a change in the manufacture color and the display was not updated. Tony dug through all the boxes to find the older color. I would have put all the tile back... because, I designed around the color of the pebbles. Tony saved the sale and I left a happy customer. Thank you, Tony !!! read more
