My wife and mother-in-law asked him to assist with looking at some tile. I don't think he could have been more rude and dismissive. What a condescending prick. Unkempt and dirty. This individual has no business dealing with the public. He is causing you to lose customers. On the other hand, an employee named Antonio went above and beyond to help us figure out what we needed. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and really went out of his way to assist. He is the type of employee I would want working on one of my teams. Very rude and unprofessional management on duty during a Sunday afternoon visit in person. When I asked the cashier to speak with a manager at the register regarding a return, a manager responded thru the walkie-talkie shouting out her reasons to decline the return or exchange of items to the cashier that were heard thru the whole line behind me of why she would not take the return and she did not come to the register. After hearing that chatter, I was in shock and requested the cashier immediately call a manager to come to the cashier afterwards for the second time that I am not happy with that professionalism. The manager finally came. After requesting a return and/or exchange from the manager by the name of JOY and being declined, I added that I was doing all this on behalf of my mother who couldn't come herself because of her busy work schedule and to please make an exception. I was trying to explain her that my spent the past year and still does currently work a lot of countless hours in the hospital during this COVID-19 pandemic and I wanted me to help her out. JOY did not want to hear it, and instead said I was speaking up and wanted me to leave (YES, I WEARING A MASK & STANDING BEHIND A PLEXY GLASS & wanted to make sure she does hear me) but instead she walked away. Very unprofessional and rude! Who is the General Manager of this location or who is her boss because she asked me to call a 877 number and find out? Really!? My blood was boiling and on my way out of the store and few of her colleagues in lower positions noticed and asked me if I was ok. They added that is how she treats her employees in the store that are below her. Not surprising!!!!! read more

I recently visited Floor and Decor on two separate occasions and received top notch customer service both times! During my first visit I was allowed to bring home several sample floor boards. Returning them was super simple and hassle free. My second visit, to purchase the boards, was great, too. Jeff was an absolute gem! He was beyond knowledgeable about the products in the store. We took our cabinet door, granite sample and floor sample in to find backsplash tile for our kitchen. Our cabinets are maple, not an updated color so we really were having a hard time choosing tile. Then along comes Dawn who worked miracles, taught us which tiles would break when being cut (of the kind we chose) and helped us figure out the trim, etc. She saved us so much time and money and from regret later because of a design issue I had no clue about. This place is huge ... a little too big, if you ask me. They have everything which is good. One stop shopping. I had one problem, however: they don't have enough staff on the floor to help guide you and get you on your way. I should probably disclose that I am not a contractor and am unfamiliar with the materials. I went in and felt like a lost child ... I was actually scared a little, as if I was never going to find what I needed. Hello? Is anyone here? Alas, when I did find someone he was very helpful. I did not let him go. I ran down my list of things to get and made sure he stayed with me until the end. Thank God I eventually ran into someone. ... Aquaguard, horrible, not what was promised by Floor Decor staff, nor on the merchandise display. No one is available to speak with nor is there a company named "Aquaguard" there is no warranty, although the box reads "30-hours underwater" 30% of the product arrived, damaged, from Floor and Decor. The visibly damaged pieces were culled from the remainder, we were charged additionally to purchase more product. What was invisible to the eye were the undiscovered product failures, yet to come, which allow the tongue and groove sections to break away. The corners, the seams, along the short end pieces and the long seams. I am disabled, in a wheelchair, and spent my life savings doing our entire house in the Aquaguard product. The product is unsafe to walk-upon. Product is installed per manufacturer recommendations, on their approved underlayment, in a climate controlled single story ranch home, over a dry, full basement. Visited several tile stores as we were planning our bathroom remodel. Our first visit to Floor and Decor was overwhelming and we really just got confused - there were too many options. But then we set up a meeting with Ricardo, a designer at the Arlington Heights store. He was amazing - he listened to what we wanted and looked at our "before" pictures. He then walked us through the store discussing the pros and cons of the different material choices, and picked out several patterns of tile, accents, and borders to give us some ideas. He was honest with his opinions about what would look good and together we agreed on a design for the bathroom. Now it is done and we couldn't be happier with the result. Two: Managers Chris Brinko and Juan Martinez went above and beyond in assisting my anxious mom on purchasing a big order to improve her new condo. My husband and I are redoing our first floor and were collecting estimates to lay hardwood floor. We called all the big name stores such as Empire, Luna, Home Depot, etc and Floor and Decor. All of these places including Floor and Decor require someone to come out and measure. All companies waived the $25 fee except Floor and Decor. When we went in to pick our hardwood floor to get it priced out, we were EXTREMELY disappointed. We were there on a Tuesday night, so it was not busy yet no one was available to help us. After an hour of pricing with one of their employees, we felt that he was unsure of everything. We asked for the Manager, and after an hour with him he came out with completely different information and pricing. What was most disappointing is after 2 hours, we ask about our stairs and the Manager tells us they don't do stairs in the flooring we wanted! How could a store called Floor and Decor not have the capacity to do stairs?! When I called to get my 25.00 refunded (the absolute LEAST they could have done), they would do no such thing. We took our 20 thousand dollar project to Home Depot where we have been treated much better. I do not recommend wasting your time at Floor and Decor. read more

I stopped at floor décor on sunday and was looking for travertine for tow \o bathrooms, close to 200 feet, after a half hour a sales person came up to me, and asked me was I ready to buy today, I was shocked at his lack of interest, when I asked him questions about the stone he told me to go on the internet, I was pissed off and left. Afreind of mine found a new store in Skokie, called designer designer stoneoutlet, I went with my wife found the travertine we liked, the sales person explained the product and asked a lot of questions about what colors, and were we were installing the tile.I knew we came to the right store, they couldn't have been nicer to us. Thanks to my contractor who recommended them too, not only are the prices out of sight, they have really great staff who spent the time with me to search for what I wanted. I don't have the gentleman's name who helped me but he was great and went above what I expected. Not only did he find what I wanted, loaded it up for check-out he came out to my car and loaded it for me to take home. I barely write these reviews... .But felt the need to warn people. Definitely great prices, but my god...the service is TERRIBLE. My husband and I went in and out of that place three times to see what kind of hardwood floors we should get. An employee, I believe was MATT, helped us here and there. So nice. First time installing own floors, so we asked is this all we need, etc. It's that easy as just picking and placing? and He said yes. We bought 14 boxes of wood and hauled it to our condo up and down in 95 degree weather. Either he was just lazy or just didn't know what he was talking about. We got the wrong type of wood, so had to go back and return it. He never asked any questions or didn't share any of his knowledge with us when we were purchasing. Second time around, is when it got bad. Our only night off from work, we rush home to get to floor and decor. Got in their front doors around 7:30pm. Asked for assistance, and one YOUNG guy said he will be RIGHT with us. We wait around for like 15 minutes and we just see him walking around the store avoiding eye contact. Finally, after 30 minutes we see another gentleman who seems to be the manager. He helped us here and there and we said we need to still pick up our wood to return and load up our new wood, is there anyway if we come a little past closing time if he can still take our returns. He said NO, they close their doors exactly at 9pm. I said they made us waste 30 minutes of our time here and he still refused to let us bring anything if we were late. What kind of customer service is that. And not to mention, do they hire only young cute looking cashiers who do not have a brain? The employees AND MANAGERS need to take a class on how to treat customers. Or the company needs to hire older people, instead of little high school/college students who do not care about anything. read more

I'm a general contractor that typically buys 90% of my tile here. Return policy is great. If I don't personally buy material from this store I'll send my customers in to buy direct without markup. I recently started a whole house renovation requiring tile for 4 bathrooms, kitchen floor & backsplash & foyer. Client selected Carrara marble for shower walls, free standing tub surround, shower floor & main floor. Installed all of the tile & it looked great (other than color variations in wall tile). Day of grout installation, came in to find 2 tile had fallen off of shower walls. Started banging fist on walls to see if any others were loose & another 10-15 fell off. Looked on back of failed tiles and realized they all had a glossy coating applied. Looks like 2 of the 25 boxes I bought were defective. Spent close to $2500 on wall tile. Ceiling was also tiled. Not willing to be held liable for any future failure of product, my only option was to completely remove all wall & ceiling tile,including the Duroc it was applied to. By the way, the other non defective tiles that didn't fall off were nearly impossible to remove. Obviously it wasn't an issue with how the tiles were installed. Went to Arlington Heights store to speak with manager only to have him basically laugh in my face and say it was an application problem & not defective tile. I had tile that fell off of wall with me that showed the gloss finish on backside of tile. Not quite sure how he couldn't understand tile was defective. Now I'm out material and labor. I'll never step foot in another Floor & Decor, nor will I ever send a client there. I'll make sure to let my other fellow contractors know of my first & last bad experience at Floor & Decor. Totally let down & disappointed. Now I try to contact corporate & see if they'll right the wrong. read more

They were SUPER HEAVY. She called for help but told me quickly that no one was available. I call that laziness. I saw employees in the store so please don't tell me that no one was available. Quote took forever and the prices we were told to start with were so much lower from what we ended up with. The Arlington Heights store has one great asset- Chris Brinko, the pro dept manager. I am a regular buyer across many stores, but Chris exceeds your expectation, the best I have ever come across. The bottom few tiles on the pallet were broken, but he proactively provided replacements, before invoices are sent to client, he checks for discrepancies, He is looking out for customers. His response time is literally within 5 mins. If you want your business to succeed, you need people like Chris who are looking out for your back. read more

I would have loved to give this place a great rating because I live in Arlington Heights, but unfortunately the customer service is so poor here I will not be returning. Today I was in this morning looking at floor samples. At no point did one single sales associate come help. Not a single one. When I was finally able to get someone's attention she told me that another location had the wood I was looking for .. and that she "would be right back". No joke 45 minutes later we went searching for her ... only to hear that the other store did not have what we needed. I was then told I would receive a phone call with next steps of how we can get the wood purchased... that was almost 4 hours ago. I will be taking my business to the Lombard location and will drive out of my way because I will never return to this store again. I am in a condo that is currently renovating many of the units and I also told them to go to the Lombard location after my experience today. Please work on your customer service training because the treatment I received today was completely unprofessional. Also, let it be noted I came here a few months ago and worked with a guy named "Buddy". I redid my bathroom last month and was looking for 3 different tiles for the floor and shower stall. I checked Menards, Lowe's and Home Depot, didn't find what I wanted. Went to Floor and Decor and was blown away and inspired by their selection. I went to Tile Outlet just "to see" but wasn't impressed. I ended up going back to Floor & Decor several times as I find tuned my vision and I am so incredibly happy with the tile, their service and prices. Many selections in the store, however the end result was disappointing. I overpurchased tile. The contractor was delayed starting the job because of his licensure and paperwork needed to be submitted to the Building Management Company. Therefore, it was over the 90 day return policy by the time they completed the job. The store manager gave me a 3rd party phone # to call to discuss and let them know of contractor delay. When I called the 3rd party, I should not have wasted my time since they could not help me and kept asking for transaction denial number which starts with a # 7. I called the store and spoke with a different manager who told me that their store does not have a start number 7 transaction ID and could not provide me with any more details. I called the 3rd party again and ended up speaking to the same customer service rep who was difficult to understand, I asked for a manager and told me they do not have a manager and in the end could not help me. I do not think anyone should waste their time on this resolution team, not knowledgeable and was a total waste, all I heard is running water background. I called the store back again and she told me that they can't do anything because it is outside the 90 day policy and that was it. The customer service on both ends is poor. Floor and Decor did not even bother to listen why I was not able to return sooner because of contractor delay. I would not return to this store again to deal with their poor customer service skills or recognize a situation outside of the box. Thank you. read more

The reason I am giving this store a one star is due to the amount of business we have brought to Floor and Decor and the way the manager treated us. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with Floor and Decor with almost all of our projects. Never have we been so disrespected and shrugged off as we were today. I attempted to return tile to the same store as we purchased it from and they denied my return. Yes we had a receipt and yes the tiles were in perfect condition. The reason given was the tiles were not returned with in 90 days. There are lots of projects that can take a longer than 90 days. When we asked to speak to the manager due to we didn't feel this was right since we have spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. The manger came over took a quick look and walked away saying there's nothing he can do. He didn't even acknowledge us. He was rude and arrogant. We will no longer send business to this store nor will we be purchasing any products for our jobs from this store in Arlington Heights. Horrible service will not be back! read more

Love their selection. Decent pricing overall too. But so help me, I just spent 4 minutes and 45 seconds before they even answered the phone! I am not speaking in hyperbole...that was what my phone showed. Also, they are hideous with pick up. My husband spent over an hour waiting to get tile we had already paid for! Their staff is disorganized and undertrained overall. In fact when we bought that tile, I ended up being served by two idiots who seemed to have walked out of a sitcom, after they could not find the nominally intelligent woman we had spoken to before them (after the guy we first spoke to who couldn't click two brain cells together and I refused to work with). I have a lot more to purchase for my full home remodel, but I don't know if I can tolerate dealing with them and giving them thousands more for this horrible level of service. read more

Customer service at this location is horrible. You have to search for someone to help you and when you do hopefully they are pleasant. When I call the store no one answers and have to call about 3 or 4 times. Seems like everyone is the manager there. Poor follow through with the "managers" to call back. Placed an order a month ago and was told the driver couldn't find the drop off location so after the 4th attempt to deliver my flooring at the store I was able to finally pick up. Asked to have the district manager Jonathan to call me 2 times and he never did. Worst store I have ever shopped at. read more

I got Carey to help me . He not only assisted me in my purchases but educated me on the products. The renovations look great! We are flippers and buy ALL our flooring here! Chris Brinko has been amazing helping find items from other stores, orders and his knowledge of product! We noticed the last couple visits, and especially tonight's visit the store is colder than the temp outside! In fact , I was so cold and couldn't shop. I told Chris we needed to leave and would be back tomorrow for our order. Sooooo cold! Not sure the issue, but I know a really great commercial HVAC contractor if you need one! Don't get me wrong I love the selection and price but be warned - you get the service you pay for, it's terrible. The woman at the pro-counter was constantly trying to get me to get granite elsewhere and then neglected to give me the information F&D corporate ultimately told me I needed to get installation going. As for finding the granite I needed, stock inventory was helplessly confused and I needed a part-timer to sneak me behind the building to look at what really was available. I'm glad this project is over so I won't be tempted to go to F&D anytime soon. read more

I am thoroughly impressed with this store. The prices on Porcelain tile are already low, especially considering the quality of the design. Good luck finding designer 12x24" gloss tiles like these anywhere else for under $3/sq.ft. I also worked with Drake who is an awesome person, he patiently helped me with any questions I had, and also gave me a killer, unbelievable deal on some clearance items.
