Great selection of title, flooring, accessories, etc. This review is for the customer service we received by Dave. I didn't catch his last name but he is roughly in his 20's with brown hair and about 5'10. We were undecided when we first walked in because we didn't have a clear picture of what we wanted the new bathroom, that is getting remodeled, to look like. We spent about 20 mins in the store wondering cluelessly through the aisles until Dave asked us if we needed any help. He was very knowledgeable about materials and had a decent eye for design for a guy. LoL. J/K. He had some good ideas and was able to help us put things together. After about an hour, we found some potential pieces for the new bathroom. He helped us add up the cost per square foot and gave us a rough estimate on cost of goods. I'm currently remodeling one of my restrooms. I checked all around and you can't beat the surplus selection available here or the prices. I came in yesterday morning and Mariana was so friendly and helpful. She didn't pressure me to purchase and encouraged me to take my time. Most of the time when you're indecisive you'll notice the workers giving eyes or getting irritated but not her! She had a smile on her face the whole time. I even left and checked out other places and returned in the evening. Mariana helped me out when I returned and made sure I had everything I needed for my restroom. I drove 3 hours round-trip from LA to come to this location to pick up backsplash tile for my kitchen. The store nearest me only had 10 sq feet and I needed 85. I assumed that since the Downey location had 200 sq feet, they could just ship it to my store for free but that wasn't case. I would have had to pay for shipping and the calculated cost was $195. JUST FOR SHIPPING. So I ordered the tile online and drove down to this location. I walked in the front door and asked where to go to pick up my online order. They directed me to the side of the store, where I was helped by an employee named Martha who had a very poor attitude. She was rude and not very helpful. Despite her immense lack of customer service, information and direction, I managed to figure out where to park in the back and waited for my tile to brought out so we could load it in my car. To my delight, Martha was the person who brought my tile order out and she loaded it into my Jeep. When I said "Thank you" her actual response was, "Yeah, whatever." Ooookay. So glad I drove 3 hours to get my tile from this location. Reallllly hoping I never have to come back. read more

I want to post an honest and positive review.  I'm a homeowner with a large project. We did not have a general contractor because I have been screwed by a general contractor before. I was alone in this monumental task.   I have a huge project where I have seven bathrooms and also a large area where I would need tile. I was scared to make costly mistakes, but looking through magazines, I saw ideas that were beautiful and safe for the biggest investments of our lives, our home.   This daunting task was scary from the very beginning but friends and family told me to check out Floor and Decor and see if a designer would be able to help. I learned online that a designer can dedicate an hour or two to help you but that was it. So I initially went to Floor and Decor - Downey and I was introduced to Socorro Ruiz.  Socorro was an in-house design that provided free Design Services to clients came in. This service was completely FREE -  you sign up online and meet them during the time. I used her service for free and I felt immediately a sense of relief. Socorro asked me many questions about what I liked and pictures and ideas that I had on my phone. I showed her my Pinterest page with all the ideas that I liked and wanted for the bathrooms. She really listens to me and within minutes she was showing me tons of ideas and asked for my price range. Whats even better an the best is that - Floor and Decor are better than anybody else. It is their conscientious approach to pricing and my budget. I told Socorro that I had a budget and she listened to me and told me where I should be looking there where I should not be looking. Most importantly she also told me some less expensive Alternatives that would be able to work with my budget -  if I cut Corners in other areas- I may be able to pull off the look and save money! Socorro Ruiz was so good to me. She had such a good handle on the products in the store that she knew how to play with my budget and where to cut corners and where the needed emphasis or drama would have to go.  We even had follow up conversations and she called me and ensured I was meeting my goals and budget.    Sometimes we play with our budgets to meet a dramatic look and order to meet a goal of a certain look and or theme. I would say that meeting Socorro was probably one of the best things that happened as a general contractor for my own home project.  At first, I was only going to buy for my master bedroom and kitchen, but  I stopped looking at other flooring places in or tile places along with Fullerton because Floor and Decor's customer service was beyond what I would ever imagine. I learned in the middle of my project that Socorro was being transferred to the West Covina store and I was devastated.   So I followed her there and continued my consults with her in her new store.    I've been to other flooring places (home depot, Along State College in Fullerton, One Stop Flooring and etc)   I always felt a sense of pressure from those four-floor places because they obviously wanted to make money and did not really pay attention to my budget and also how to pull off the look with a fraction of a budget.  In-Floor and Decor in with Socorro's tutelage I was able to pull off looks from magazines that look like I spent a ton of money without really spending a ton of money.   I hope Floor and Decor realizes how lucky they are to really have employees who actually care about their customers and they are being paid the same and they give the best service.   I wonder if they even do anything special for these employees, as they go on with the best service without a pat in the back and a smile.   All this for free guys.   Seriously.   5 Stars for Socorro Ruiz and 5 stars to Floor and Decor for hiring people who people like me who are scared and bduget conscious.   Scared to get screwed and scared to make a costly mistake. read more

We are on our way here right now and I saw the first Yelp commenter say that the address is Lakewood Blvd as opposed to the Apollo Way address that's listed. I called the store and it took 4 times to reach someone live ugh!! I finally got someone and they said that since the iPhone maps app doesn't pull up the Apollo way address, they give customers the 12214 Lakewood address to direct them nearby. I'm putting a photo up to give you a visual. This was super frustrating but hopefully I have a good experience and can update with more stars!! UPDATE: WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Such a huge selection of floors - we bought a porcelain tile. AMAZING prices!! Fantastic service. Olive helped us during our trip and she's wonderful and knowledgable. She even pushed the cart for us bc I was holding our baby and my husband had the stroller. She also let us take the tile outside to see them in natural light (I'm posing a picture of the tile we chose). The store has tons of employees working and every customer had an employee with them - totally different from the Home Depot experience. Ps. When you come into the store is not like other home improvement stores. It feels like it's a higher end store. It was my First time coming to this store, we would normally go to HD. However, since this store specializes in floor and we where looking for flooring. My husband and I decided to come to this store. We walked around for over 30 minutes in the store looking for flooring. We did not see any salesman in the area at ALL. So we walked around looking for someone to help us. We finally found young man walking at the other side of the store. We called for his help 3 times!!!!! Finally he turned around, and we asked if he can help us look for a specific floor tiles. He did not respond at all he just walked away with his walkie calling someone. All we did was follow him towards the area where all the floor tiles where. He seemed upset because we asked for help. He even rolled his eyes. Super unprofessional!!!!! Customer service is that! Service to the customer, it was not a good start. He did not make any efforts to try and help us. The opposite of that is true. He managed to discourage my husband from buying a particular tile. So we decided to leave and go home to give it some thought. On the way out, we saw something we like. So we continued to walk around finally, a young lady came over to ask if we needed help (after 45 minutes of walking around). She did help us and we purchased what we needed. While we where making our purchase the cashiers where yelling at each other how they had "just made another big sell". As a customer, I felt invisible to the people who where working at this place. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because the one employee who actually took the time to help us. Not the best experience for the price you pay! read more

I have seen this place and wanted to go inside since it opened. I haven't had any need for them until last week when I had my bathroom remodeled. Yes, they have a huge selection. Yes, the prices are reasonable. No, they are not customer friendly nor customer oriented. I came in looking for quarter rounds for the tile in my bathtub. I asked one of the workers passing by where they were, he showed me and left. Glad I didn't have any questions. Given the size of the store and the variety, they only have one type available in this WHOLE WIDE STORE, and it is in white, "Bright White Ice Ceramic". It didn't match what I picked out from another store at all. So I went with another piece of trim that was like $3.99 a piece and matched it the best that I could. When I went to pay the line was like 3 people deep with only one register open. They were having issues with the return register working. It was an hour before closing so I thought hey, they must have been slammed. They had to do a lot of price checks since the items aren't marked with prices or even sku numbers. I heard people behind me asking for help from staff and was not impressed. The patrons were told to go back to that section, and that someone should be there. Hey, I know, how about you go back there and help them find someone. Upon returning two days later, there were about four staff members congregated up in the front. I came in to return some items. I felt like I was intruding on their conversation. The cashiers don't make you feel welcome, and act like they don't want your business. I'm glad I have no further business to conduct here. OH! And they also have a Yelp Review Board in their back room. I saw it on the way to the restroom. There are spaces under each employees name to make a list of their positive reviews I'm sure. I'm a frequent shopper at this location as well as the others throughout Southern California. This location has a great selection of products and their employees are amazing. There are many options to buy products through other stores but I'm always drawn back to floor and decor due to their superb customer service, design services, and the ease purchasing and returning items. Employees like Nathan(pro desk), Gracie, Shantan, and Ashley make the shopping experience second to none. I wish I knew all the names of the employees who helped me provided wonderful service. My husband and I were shopping for kitchen flooring and the store was understaffed the day we visited. We had a difficult time finding someone to help us and finally made our way to the front of the store and approached a worker named Soto. Even though he was busy on the phone, he juggled between calls to help us as much as he could. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable and told us he will come find us as soon as he had a free second. It took a while but he did in fact find us. Have a real bad experience last night at the store in Apollo Way (Downey). I ordered more than 20 boxes of tiles and waited almost an hour to have them load to my truck. When I get home, one of the box only has 1 piece in there instead of full box of 10. Be aware. And 2 boxes with all broken tile. Never trust them as they will tell you everything is good. Check everything before you leave. Is not that they cheat but the loading guy didn't know it too. To follow up on this. I went back to the store today and the managers: Elliot and Jay were wonderful and professional. I explained what happened to them and they immediately took action to rectify the problems. The level of customer services are above and beyond. I am a happy customer and will continue to buy from this store. And 1 star become 5 stars now. Totally deserves it. Update 4/3/2019: Went back to the store and purchase additional flooring and tiles. The services was excellent. Thank Gerson for all the help of finding tiles and loading to my truck. I would like to say, that for over a year now I have been very happy shopping at your store, especially as a pro and sending my customers your way. I have had nothing but great customer service up until today. I went in today to return some products totaling about $200+. While scanning things in, one of the items came up as nonreturnable and the cashier stated that the item showed as over 90 days and that I would only be able to return (1) piece of tile instead of the four (4). I asked the cashier to call a manager, the manager Lisa Gonzales was outside in the parking lot retrieving carts, I had to wait there for over 15mins while waiting for her to come back. When Lisa Gonzales came over to assist, from the very start she was very short and to the point, almost rude. The very nice cashier started to explain and Lisa Gonzales cut her off and said that the pebble tile was over the 90 period and there would be no refund, that the best she could do would be a store credit and at that point she was very rude and asked for a receipt. I informed her I was a pro and that my phone number should bring up the information, she had no response. I asked Lisa Gonzales for her information and her district managers information, and she went to the other register and got me her card. I repeated my request for her manager or district managers information, and she said to call the number on her card and abruptly left without another word. The very nice cashier then finished the transaction and by surprise all was returned. I was happy that I received my refund, but was left with a feeling of disgust, I was upset and truly disappoint at how a manager would have such disregard for a customer. I thought to myself, that I had to make this know because if as a pro that puts me at a much higher threshold to bring customers to your store, how would she treat a regular customer that came in for their first time. I'm at awe as I continue to write and still cannot believe the experience, I had at your store today. Owning two successful companies myself, I know the value of customer service. What I went through today I could never put my customers through. I trust this was an isolated experience with an inexperienced manager and not how Floor and Décor would train your managers to respond and treat your valued customers. I would expect to receive a written apology and explanation of this horrible service and what action will take place to rectify this horrible experience from not happening again. read more

We arrive at the store at 830am and proceed to procure our supplies. We found one of the floorings that we needed but could not find the other one. My coworker and I proceed to ask the workers up front for the flooring that we needed. They look it up in their database and find that it is discontinued but they still have some at the store in Carson. We then ask the employee to verify if they actually have it in stock so we don't make the trip for nothing. Here is where the hell begins. The guy helping us, we will call him Maybelline, had no sense of urgency. We were there for an hour just waiting to find out if the other store had what we needed in stock.
