Floor and Decor in Kennesaw is a DISASTER. On November 9, 2021 my wife drive to the F&D location, picked out flooring, gave our address, and obtained an appointment for November 16. On November 15, Faria Flooring called us to confirm they were coming the next day. When they did not show up by the end of the day we called and left a message. The call has not been returned in a week. Faria Flooring is a sub-contractor under Installation Made Easy which is a sub-contractor if Floor and Decor. Had we known that we would be dealing with a sub-contractor of a sub-contractor of Floor and Decor we would not have entered into a contract with Floor and Decor. If we had known that Floor and Decor would claim that "we are not affiliated with Installation Made Easy (as they did say to me) we would not have contracted with them. If we had known that the sub-sub-contractors would not come to Waleska (Cherokee County), we would not have contracted with them. My wife was so frustrated with the F&C incompetence that she gave up. I took over trying today - November 23. I called to speak with the manager. "He is not in today, he is in South Carolina". So I explained to the F&C Flooring rep. She said that it's an IME problem and transferred me. No one ever picked up. So, I called back, explained to the next F&D rep. He said he would go get the IME rep, but he hung up the phone. I called back, spoke to Angela or Andrea who said she would go get a different IME rep. Ten minutes later no one had come on the line so I called and asked for an assistant manager and spoke with John. He said he would call the manager and call me right back. Someone did. At F&D there is a chart that says ",$1.99 sq ft installation". The man who called quoted $4.67 sq ft Installation! In other words, he didn't want to come to Waleska, but would for an extra $770.00! Forget the fact that this store has the most incredible selection of flooring and tile in the southeast and forget the fact that their prices beat everyone and forget that they have only the latest styles and not a bunch of leftover garbage from 10 years ago. Nope.. none of that compares to the superior customer service with a laugh and a smile. Alta knew all about the flooring we were comparing and explained it all in simple terms. Even one star is too much. They sold us first quality material that was mismatched off quality. See the picture. We waited for 2 weeks for this material to be brought in from port. So this wasn't mixed boxes from the store but came from China. The cartons all marked as the same lot numbers. This is what we got. It was hard to see it until a decent amount was installed. They said we could bring it back and trade it out but probably wouldn't be any better. Buy at your own risk is their policy. read more

We were looking to remodel our master bath due to a plumbing leak that turned into re-piping our entire house. We decided to stop in Floor & Decor to see what they had. It was overwhelming of the choices for our remodel. We've been there before for our house's main level flooring, but never for tile. We ran into Mary B. on the sales floor - she probably knew we looked clueless and asked if she could help us. We looked at a couple of options and set up a design appointment since we knew we needed help. Mary was great! Gave us several options and was very professional. Entering the building my husband and I were greeted by a vast, spacious sight of many aisles with all sorts of tiles beyond what the eye can see! It was a might overwhelming at first as we have never needed new flooring before and didn't know where to start. We wandered about on our own for a bit but before long, Jarret Cox the employee on the floor went out of his way to make sure we were doing okay. He seemed like he was heading somewhere but we were grateful as for about the next 20 minutes he helped us pick out what we wanted for our bathroom floor. If it were not for him, we would have been left with many more choices than what we walked out with to compare. He was informative and helpful and we will seek him out again should we return. We are very grateful to him and Mark the manager on shift who stopped to take the time to hear us out how pleased we were in person. We noticed that they had so many selections and sales going on all around the store and will look forward to our next return here when we need to replace the kitchen floor! I bought three large American walnut butcher blocks to cut into desks, spending over $1,500. Their customer service people have no insight into the delivery timeframe, and quoted a lead time much longer than the online order specified. The order was supposed to arrive in 7 - 10 days and took 15. Until the day it arrived, there was no way to determine when I could pick it up so that I could arrange to transport it - the pieces weighed 80 to 100 lbs each and one was 12 feet long, so I needed a helper and a large vehicle. When the blocks finally arrived, I inspected it and initially, the better side of each looked OK, not great, with dozens of fills of popped knots or cracks. By the way, I bought their higher end product, not the cheaper builder grade. Judging by what I got, I would have had to return the builder grade product as completely unusable. The fills were poorly done in a light colored plastic wood, which would not take stain, so I had to replace most of them by chiseling them out and replacing them with epoxy, which worked well, but took an extra day to cure and sand. I expected some fills, but did not expect to have to replace them. All of that was a pain, but not worth writing a negative review over. However, once I began cutting, I noticed that instead of walnut, several strips in each block were not walnut, but instead were red oak, and several were what appears to be poplar. Unfinished American black walnut has a variety of colors, from a medium brown in the heartwood, to a pale tans in the sapwood. It is never the color of red oak and has a different grain, so no amount of stain could disguise it to look like walnut. The poplar or whatever it is, was closer to walnut in appearance and behaved a bit better once I finished it with rubbing varnish. When picking up the pieces, I could not have spent an hour to inspect each of hundreds of strips in a block, and would not have thought to do so to find fraudulent material. Once a piece is cut, it cannot be returned, even if there was fraud involved, as in this case. I may buy tile from Floor and Decor again, but will not waste my money and time on wood products which are not as advertised and which cannot be returned once the fraud is discovered. By the way, they sell at a fairly moderate price point, so the finger joints where the strips are joined are visible on the long edges. I expected that, but they do not advertise it and their photos of the product deliberately hide it. I bought solid walnut strips and laminated them onto the front edge of each desk, before finishing the tops. read more

I looked up items i was interested; I called before I went as there were several choices to verify stock which I was told was in stock, when I drove over an hour one way, NONE of the items I chose were actually in Stock. Ordered an item I really didn't want just to be out of there. I called to check on status after seeing order was in - via the website. After FINALLY getting someone to pick up the phone (held from 8AM until 12:31) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They even had my call back number wrong. Big logistic improvement needed for this company and store. I pre-ordered 95 boxes of Carolina Hickory vinyl plank for my rental house 7/1 before multiple validation of the availability. at that time, there were no products at any other stores in GA. At the week of 8th, I checked with the store again if they can make sure the product will arrive as I was told since my contractor had very tight schedule. one other senior associate told the person I dealt with that he could put in a hot ticket to make sure the product can be loaded in the next available truck for the pre-sale products. This associate entered something in the system which I'm not sure now if he actually did it. Every time, I confirmed with staffs in the store, I was told the products can be picked up 7/18 first thing in the Morning. 7/18, my contractor called, products were not there when they tried to pick up; 7/19 morning around 11:00am; I received a call that my order was ready for pick up; 7/20, my contractor, went to pick up, the products were not available again. Due to the cost of the labor, I requested store manager to match price for Auburn Oak so my contractor can have job for his workers. Manager can only offer $200 credit. Under the stress of letting scheduled hours wasted, I went online and found there were 93 boxes at Morrow and 17 boxes at Atlanta stores. I ordered on line 93 boxes at Morrow store. I made 3 calls and tried to talked to actual store associates to update the pickup person without success. The calls all answered by call center. I had to take out my time from work and drove 30 miles to Morrow store to tell them, this is my guy that will pick up the products I paid for. It is the worst experience in my life to purchase this flooring. I cannot believe that Floor Décor do not have a system to make sure that products will distribute to the stores that had pre-sales orders. Secondly, there is no way to update the pickup person online or with call. Of course, while I tried to cancel the order at Kennesaw store, I did not get $200 credits. And had to wait for long time to get order cancelled. To be successful in this online purchase environment, it is a terrible experience for customer. I hope Floor Décor can improve these 2 areas of the services to be survived in this cyber purchase environment. read more

There selection of products are fantastic! We used Alta for our selection of floors and tile for both bathrooms. We tried, the week before to select our flooor and tile on our own. The vast selection the store has made us more confused when we left F&D last week than when we arrived. We decided to enlist the help of one of designers at F&D (it's free!). We had Alta as our designer and she was fantastic! She took the time to initially want to know our bathrooms and likes for our remodeling. She did it very methodically by helping us with the floor first then to the shower tile, shower floor tile. She gave us a lot of tips in how to differentiate between the master bathroom and second bathroom (Alta helped us select floor and tile/grout for 2nd bathroom). Her knowledge was invaluable and we feel confident in what we are going with due to her help. Alta even takes the time to explain how the color of the grout changes the tile appearance. I would highly recommend Alta to help with your bathroom floor/tile/grout needs. We are sending my brother to Alta as he will have the same contractor as my wife and me when our project is complete. My husband and I were looking for flooring for our basement. So many options and choices we didnt know where to begin. Beth was very helpful and knowledgeable. Beth listened to what we were looking for and showed us the different types and options. We wanted the best without going over our budget. The installation was very simple and had minimal scrap pieces or cuts. The floor you see below is the Nucore waterproof flooring called The Riverport. This is in our basement for my husbands " UGA man cave." What we loved about it was the each box of flooring came with (3) widths which gave the room character and definition. Floor and Decor on Barrett Pkwy is a phenomenal store! The manager Beth is amazing! I had to take back a lot of tile from our house build. There was 2 1/2 pallets of tile. Ramsey was fantastic in the care he took to inventory every single piece of tile! Then Manager Beth had to check all of my receipts to make sure everything checked out! It took a total of 3 hours to get it all done, but they were all very patient and careful to make sure everything was correct! If you need any type of flooring, you need to come here. This is honestly such a ridiculous place. For as much money that my husband and I have spent here bc of a lacking section elsewhere, the staff are USELESS. we have been several times where we've had to walk the entire store to find a single person to help. we've also taken products to checkout and after waiting absurd amounts of time, the clerk told us that she couldnt read the number on a tile so rather than look it up herself, asked us to walk all the way back to the tile, take a picture of the tag, and get back in line. As much as i like their wide selection, they have some of the worst employees. will be taking my business elsewhere, even if that means sacrificing cost or selection. read more

I hardly know where to begin, there is so much wrong with this company: The main thing I hate is the way they store their inventory, the bundles of tile are stored on the floor behind those big display signs on casters, you have to move the sign out into the middle of the isle to access the tile, I lifted a bundle of tile off the floor and then tripped on one of the casters of the sign that was next to the tile was picking up, I injured my back in a big way becasue of Floor and Decor's idiotic floor design, these heavy tiles shoud be on racks like all the other home centers, the accesories like grout and underlayment are a total rip off, a gallon of grout is $18 are Home Depot, the same quanity of grout at Floor and decor is $52, laminate underlayment is $750 for 1200 SF, I visited the " Countertop Design Center" to inquire about quartz tops for my condo, the girl working there knew less than I did, a lot less, it was a joke, do yourself a favor, buy your flooring somewhere else read more

I just wasted an hour of my life driving up to Kennesaw to this store. I am in the market for some flooring suitable for a screened-in elevated porch. It currently has some nasty indoor-outdoor carpet that needs to be replaced, and I was looking for something to replace it with. I wandered back to the vinyl plank flooring and was obviously looking for something, yet not a single worker (and there were several) stopped to ask me if they could help. I finally went up to someone behind a counter and she was minimally helpful...just sort of waved me in the direction of the vinyl plank (which I'd already found) and never offered any other assistance or to call someone else. Perhaps it's my age; perhaps it's because I grew up in a small town where my father, uncle and grandfather owned and operated the local hardware store. You couldn't walk inside those doors without someone meeting you within seconds to offer help. You can still find that occasionally, but not often, and certainly not in these big box stores. The prices were great, but the service was non-existent. Even Home Depot was much more helpful than they were; unfortunately, they had very little selection. But that's probably where I'll end up buying my materials, as they are around the corner from my house. No sense in wasting gas only to be ignored. read more

My wife, young son, and I went to Floor & Decor in search of stone ledger for our fireplace. After having a terrible experience with a sales associate my wife and I were frustrated and had nearly given up on Floor & Decor. That's when Beth cam along and asked if we needed any help. I had just about lost hope with the store but Beth went over and above, totally saving our experience and making us into Floor & Devore believers. She was extremely knowledgeable about both the product and store polices, and was able to help us find exactly what we needed. She even helped entertain our 2 year old so my wife and I could discuss our materials selections!!!! Ask for Beth and you won't be disappointed. We renovate homes, but have decided not to shop at F&D anymore. The inventory and prices are usually decent, but the customer service was inconsistent at times. The deal killer was when we had a horrible encounter earlier this year with a so-called assistant manager named Rusty. He was unbelievably rude and unprofessional -- we almost thought we were being pranked for a moment because his behavior was so bizarre and unacceptable. If it were not for him, we might consider going back to F&D, but the experience was so traumatizing that we have completely stayed away, even if we have to pay a little more next door or wherever else. Hopefully this guy has been fired so that nobody else has to deal with his controlling, demeaning attitude and actions. *** UPDATE*** The manager of this store called and he was very nice. I am also glad to hear that mean old Rusty transferred to another store.
