My wife showed me a cell phone picture of a ceramic tile and its price that she wanted to use. Image shows the tile name along with the SKU and price of $1.04. Drove down to purchase tiles. At the checkout, the price came up as $1.29 per tile. I showed the cashier the photo of the display price, so she called a manager over. Manager went to check on price. I followed and showed the price on the display as $1.04. He then took the price tag down, said it was old, the price is $1.29. End of story. His opinion was that it did not matter that they were advertising a different price because it was wrong. read more

First time going to this store and boy did we luck out when we found Luis. We were set on tile for our floors before he advised differently based on having a large dog that would scratch the tile immediately. He not only educated us but he was extremely patient and helpful. When we went back we insisted on finding him and immediately he offered his help and it was clear he knew exactly what he was talking about. I hired a guy to do a small paint job at my place and while talking to him I found out that he does bathroom renovations and would be willing to do my bathroom. We agreed on the labor price but it was my job to supply all the materials. So off I went to floor & decor to get some new title all by myself. While I knew in my head the look I wanted to achieve I knew very little about bathroom title; however I learned quickly reading the title descriptions and looking at the bathroom displays and just being able to see a sample up close. The selection here is huge and you can find here bathroom title in all price ranges. In addition they have a whole section dedicated to grout, which comes in many shades of white. At least 20 different shades of grout. At the end the cashier helped me load up my car. I bought so many boxes of bathroom title that my car was sinking a little but I was not going far. I would recommend getting a van if you have a bigger job. At the end I loved the title that I picked and the contractor approved. He only had few extra pieces left after the whole job was done. However you can return to Floor & decor any unopened unused title boxes. read more

I had such an amazing experience working with Ana in the showroom. She basically was an interior designer for me and my fiancé's master bathroom. She helped us pick out 5 different tiles based on inspiration photos we had. She was very patient and has excellent taste, which made everything a smooth process. I've been to this store several times and each time I leave, I ask myself why I even came here. It seems there are only 2 employees in this store, one at the cashier, and one in the warehouse, rest of store is empty, no help. I kept hearing that this place had modern new designs, looked around and found mediocre selection. Like a little better than a big box improvement store, but not what I expected from a store devoted to tiles. Prices not cheap either. Here's where I got mad. I booked an appointment with the designer. I show up, no one but cashier there, "oh he'll be here" they say. 15 min later he does arrive as we were ready to leave. We provide measurements, and tell him what color theme bathroom we are interested in, and showed 2 tiles that were somewhat along the lines of our interest. We had nothing concrete in mind, thats why we needed DESIGN help. Well that was the end of the help. He told us he had all he needed we could leave. Where was designing, where was showing us his ideas suggestions? Nothing, nada zilch. He said he was busy and had another appt soon, so he'll email is in a week or 2. Now I don't know about others, but I didn't expect a 2 week lag, I expected something during THAT appt. But if princess shows up late, well less time for us. How did this all end? That we had to go to a different store for tiles. The design we got back was the two tiles we showed him, put on a 2d image, no borders, nothing unique. This kind of crap, pardon my language but you can't call it anything else, I could have imagined in my head, saved trips to come here and delay my project. If you want a plain, simple bathroom, want to walk around and figure stuff out yourself, this is your store. If you want something a little more unique, if you are undecided, don't count on any design help here, or any positive customer service. read more

Our contractor highly recommended this place for picking out the tile for our bathroom renovation. Huge store with absolutely the worst customer service. I walked laps around the store trying to find someone to help me without success. When I finally found someone, she had a snarky attitude. Honestly, I would have rather stayed closer to home and shopped somewhere that offered assistance or at least had sufficient employees. The person who I finally found to help us, had some math challenges - which is just plain frustrating when we're trying to figure out how many square feet of tile we needed for our project. This place reminded me of Michael's where the employees have absolutely no idea where they are or what they're selling! Unless you live near here, it's not worth traveling to because there is no assistance, poorly staffed and not a unique enough selection to make it worth the hassle. read more

I have been having a hard time choosing a back splash that would not fight with my counter tops, cabinets, or floors. I'm pretty picky, aside from that obvious challenge, I want a complimentary bland tile in the color scheme. No fancy glass tiles, no tumbled rustics, no new textures or colors. I have blended materials and colors well and the straw that BREAKS the camel's back is coming. -- you feel me?? With this challenge set, I entered Floor & Decor. The variety was lovely, displays well organized, signs hung to clearly mark sections of the store- things were easy to navigate. I had many sales associates offer to assist me while I was browsing. When I finally determined that a display matched my colors, an associate assisted in determining exactly what tile comprised the display (this was harder than you might think). In the end, I left to ponder the problem a bit more (the display tiles would have added another texture, darn it). However, I believe I am much closer to my back splash being completed! We paid $1500 for countertops (delivered to the store a week late) and I spoke with Pete, the manager, yesterday AM and he said everything was ready for pick up by our contractor. This was after multiple calls the previous day being transferred to numerous extensions, none of whom answered or had voicemail. They weren't there when our contractor went to get them and now you guys "can't find them." There has been a problem with every single order placed. We've spent several thousand dollars this month and still have the whole 1st floor to do - but you've made it impossible for us to buy from you. We will take our business elsewhere for the whole first floor, bathrooms, basement, etc. It's too bad you guys will lose so much money because the staff in Skokie don't know what they're doing. We will go elsewhere to complete the house remodel. You just lost$10-15K in business. Good job! read more

Our contractor recommended we check out Floor & Décor for the remodel of our kids' and Master bathrooms. I brought in the tile the person from The Tile Shop recommended when Mario J. asked me if I needed help. This was truly my luckiest day! Mario saved me from making a big mistake (using wall tile for floor tile per The Tile Shop) and then proceeded to help me pick out the perfect tile to match a unique vanity in under 30 minutes. He's a true designer and expert with amazing ideas. Then we started working on the Master Bath... once again he had to design around a vanity with existing marble top... the color scheme and detail he came up with turned our bathroom into a spa! It is so beautiful, it could be in a magazine!! I will try to post pics of this so you all can see. I will be recommending Mario J at Floor & Décor to all of my friends... He is the best! read more

Good selection of flooring and tiles. I installed new 12x24 porcelain tiles in my kitchen and marble tiles in my bathroom. They look awesome. I even paid less than I had budgeted which is always a plus. My only complaint is that when I was returning extras, one of the workers was openly complaining about how he had to help load some tiles for another person and only got a "thank you" from the person. read more

If you want a company that will stand by the products they sell post installation, then Floor and Décor is NOT the company for you. I had problems with a product only a few months after installation. My contractor plus another flooring expert said the problem was with the quality of the flooring. I did not go cheap (nor did I buy top of the line) so I did not expect problems. Plus it looked nice. I reached out to Floor and Décor's Customer Care Claims department and filled out the forms. I did not hear from them for a couple weeks. I started calling and emailing them. It took me 8 calls before I was finally able to speak to someone who actually told me that they were understaffed and far behind. Not a great way to start but I didn't complain as these people would be helping me solve my problem. Or so I thought. All these people do is connect you with a neutral third person sent out by the manufacturer to investigate. This third party person was great and came out at my convenience. After his inspection was done, he said "let me get this paperwork filed so we can get this floor fixed for you". My expectation was my problems would be handled based on his inspection and comments. A week later the manufacturer denied the claim throwing so many reasons at me it made my head spin. Some of the issues they claimed in the report were clearly incorrect. Others, while true, when I spoke to other flooring experts would not result in the problems I am having. All Floor and Décor does is relay the information to me. Then they wash their hands of the problem. I reached out to Floor and Décor to explain why I disagreed with the manufacturer's conclusion. But they will not return my emails or calls and clearly are not willing to do anything about the issue. Had I known Floor and Décor cared more about what the manufacturer's think than the customer I would have gone somewhere else. read more

Echo Forest Stranded Bamboo. That lifetime residential guarantee is as useless and unreliable as this product. Installed 790 sf of Echo Forest stranded bamboo in my condo - came with a high recommendation by the sales staff. Three years later it's curling, cupping, divots (indentations) and cracks are appearing on the surface. To their credit, they did send out an inspector and said the complaint would be forwarded to the manufacturer for resolution. Interesting now to learn that Floor & Decor holds the trademark on Echo Forest. After 5 months of this process, they've denied my complaint saying it was basically due to environmental conditions beyond their control and not in keeping with the product recommendations. READ that tiny print on the boxes with extreme caution - you can't rely on the sales staff to give you sound advice, or the company not to make unwarranted assumptions in assessing the problem. Would love to learn if anyone else has also experienced issues with this product. read more

We did not have such a good experience because there was no one available to help or answer our questions, so after 2 hrs wandering about looking for someone to assist we went home. We were told to come back today and when we got there the same thing happened. Luckily, we were able to get Jake to help. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He went through the store and helped us pick out what we needed for our bathroom make over project. Some of the tiles we picked out were not available at this location so called the closest Chicago location to make sure they had the items we needed. The customer service in this location is terrible! I went there to buy more tiles for the two bathroom projects in my house. Since the tiles were so heavy, I was offered by the staff assisting me in using the curbside pick-up services so that somebody will load up my purchased materials. Unfortunately, when I went there to pick up the tiles, the front desk person for the curbside pick-up service started arguing and extremely angry towards me and in front of my teenage son, who is with me, about why I had to ask for help. A couple years ago I remodeled my kitchen and purchased backsplash tile from this location. Because of my positive previous experience, returned today to purchase tile for my bathroom remodel. This time a bit different as the title section is more extensive. Without seeking assistance, a very nice sales associate, EJ, approached and asked some basic questions. I can't tell you how helpful EJ was in helping me to choose just the right tile. EJ was very knowledgable, provided nice design suggestions and even opened boxes and placed tiles on the floor for my daughter and I to visualize layout and colorations. EJ made the checkout process extremely easy and arranged for someone to help me load all of the tile in my car. The customer service here is hilariously awful. They sent us with the wrong tile. When we returned it they said our actual tile was in PA and wasn't going to be in for two weeks. We cancelled the shipment because we needed tile faster than two weeks. They confirmed that they cancelled it and we got our floors from elsewhere only to get a notification that our tile had arrived at Floor and Decor from PA two weeks later. At that point it took two weeks to get a refund because every time I called they either couldn't find my order, didn't have the right person available, or lacked the proper authorization to process the refund. My wife and I went there yesterday after being advised by our contractor, who is remodeling our bathroom, to do so. To give you a background, neither one of us know anything about coordinating and decorating bathrooms. When we entered the business we noticed it was overwhelming how many options that had there. We were greeted by multiple employees who inquired if we needed help (and not in an annoying way either like a car dealership). We of course said yes. The gentleman got on the radio and asked for a particular person to help us. Shortly thereafter, we met with Hermi. Both my wife and I can't say enough good things to describe the help that she provided to us. She spent hours helping us to coordinate our bathroom floor tiling, shower floor tiling, shower curb, shower wall and shower niche. The prices are extremely reasonable and I didn't feel she was trying to sell us on the most expensive items. I can honestly say we probably wouldn't have been able to get this accomplished without her assistance. She seemed so interested and into helping us. She took a real personal interest in making us happy with our selections. She even assisted with fulfilling the material list the contractor had provided to us as well. Without hesitation, I highly recommend both Floor & Decor and absolutely recommend getting the assistance of Hermi. She knows her stuff and provided outstanding recommendations and guidance. read more
