Very friendly and helpful staff We went here to purchase tile and supplies for fireplace surround install finish work. First we looked around the store to get idea what we wanted. Once we decided we found Johnny who helped retrieve the product needed for tile then we went to get mortar and grout. Since Johnny was a newer employee he asked Virginia for help who then helped pick correct grout and also mortar for wall. Then she also helped with edging selection. Not at any time did we feel hurried or not important to receive attention needed. Johnny helped load products in truck and even helped my wife to get into truck. Very glad we stopped here to look at and ultimately purchase our needed items. read more

First time at this location and redoing a master bathroom. I was walking around with the wife and she was picking out tiles/accents etc.. when a a man named GUS walked up and asked if we needed help.Explained our rehab situation and he was spot on. We had a sample floor tile we needed to match and he directed to several options. He explained accents and grouting and a bunch of other stuff. He gave me samples and showed them to our contractor who totally agreed. I came back and met with with GUS and a preliminary amount of products totaling $700.00 .... will be back for the rest. It is a wonder that this company is in business!!! I have gone to this store on probably 6 occasions. Most of the staff seem to be wondering aimlessly about in groups apparently killing time. When you ask them any question, it's like a deer in headlights: they are completely lost!!! While they list stock that is for full price, they also have sale prices and clearance prices. Unfortunately, they are just as likely to be out of stock for anything they display so you have to ask about everything you see, and even then their inventory management system is completely unreliable. Their warehouse staff is not any more knowledgeable about what is going on: When you inquire about an order, they stare at their computers like it was giving them a message from above and in the end they have no answers. Let me give you an example, I placed an order with them for tile and paid for it and was told they would tell me when it came in from another one of their stores. They however, didn't place the order, so after several weeks of waiting, I found this out. Of course, no one is responsible and they have no idea how this happened and this never happened before. If you complain to the management about these problems, it becomes clear they are no more helpful than their staff. They are way to young to have the necessary experienced to provide any guidance to their staff. This ineptness is not helped by their "holier than thou" attitude. I would recommend so many other stores to buy from if you are at all concerned about price, quality, service and integrity. read more

Nice looking products at an affordable cost, but the quality is not there. Purchased a floor from them (solid hardwood) and installed using the glue that they sell according to their recommendations and the floors cupped the first night from the moisture in the glue. The floors were thin 3/8 inch thick so they recommended the glue. Luckily it had a 15 year warranty, oh but wait, they need to send out an inspector that will cost the same price as the flooring.... shop there it will cost you just as much money in headaches and redo work. Thanks floor and decor. Oh and their prices have surged on their marble tiles... $13.99 is the same price as anywhere else. read more

Worst customer service experience I have EVER encountered in my entire life. Any time I have called to place and order or inquire about the status about an order I have been put on hold for AT LEAST an hour, currently I have been holding for 2 hours. They are unable to look up anything from their corporate headquarters in regards to orders that have already been shipped to stores, which leads to being transferred around multiple times and ridiculous hold times. I have never been so annoyed with the lack of knowledge and unacceptable wait times to receive an answer to a question that could have been answered in 30 seconds. read more

This store has a mediocre selection of tile and flooring at a middle-of-the-road price point. However, the staff are the worst! Nobody of the floor seems to know anything about tile or tle setting. And don't get me started about how long it takes to get through the cash area. They will only stay successful because Evanston Skokie are tile wastelands. read more

After looking in vain for tiles that would match each other, I was about to give up. Then a design consultant named Hanoor saved the day. He found a combination of tiles that worked with the style of my home and were economical, considering they were marble. Later, when I needed some other tile, on a smaller scale, he repeated his apparent habit of listening well and coming up with solution. Though Floor and Decor could stand to have a more carefully considered line of stock, Hanoor and the other staff made the process work--and made me likely to return. read more

I went to Floor and Decor with a couple friends for the first time last week - looking like a deer in headlights. Had a little bit of an idea what I wanted, but not entirely certain. I cannot say enough about working with Mario Juarez! We had a few things picked out and his product knowledge and direction was sooo much appreciated - he knew exactly what would and would not work together. He really put me at ease and made the whole process very easy. I then took samples home, met with my contractor who gave me the measurements for my order, then placed the order with Mario. Went back in the next day to pay, Mario pulled the inventory and put it aside for me for a few days until I could pick it up. Great place to shop and great overall experience! read more

I originally came here a few weeks ago to purchase tile and had one of the sales associates approach me prior to purchasing the tile I had picked out, and ask me if I had a source for transportation, considering each box of tiles weighed 100 lbs and I needed 18 boxes. My husband who was with me said this guy is out of his mind. There is no way, my husband picked up the box and demonstrated by putting it on my arms. I was able to lift it and the sales associate was full of it. We did not purchase tile that day and did come back another day to buy some grout. Today we exchanged the color and the two cashiers were extremely rude. I am done with this place and will never come here again. Just amazed how rude people can be !!!! read more

You simply cannot beat the selection and prices here. The service is about as horrible as I have seen anywhere. There are not enough employees, the one that are there cannot answer any questions. When you are finally ready to check out- no one is there to check you out or there are 10 people in a line that isn't moving and one cashier. It took a reallllllly long time to get to the check out because I had to search high and low to find someone to even answer a single question. I had the single, worst customer service experience ever at this specific store. I WAS a regular customer (contractor with my own business and recommended many of my customers purchase from here), but not anymore). I understand having a bad day, but taking it out on someone that had nothing to do with it is wholly unacceptable. Floor and Decor needs to better customer service training for all their employess AND mangers, specifically INDIRA and the store manager she was working with on the evening of December 30, 2019. I was returning a product that was purchased for a client that was determined to not be exactly right. Despite having my receipt from my purchase on December 28, 2019 (mere days before), I was treated as if I had STOLEN the product. I was questioned on how I obtained the product. I was told I couldn't return the product and was treated very poorly. I will be taking all of my business, as well as my clients' business to The Tile Shop. read more

NIGHTMARE!! I purchased 1400 square feet of pre-engineered hardwood flooring at Floor & Decor. I paid my contractor to pick up the 60 boxes of flooring and deliver it to my condo. It sat for 4 days, as suggested by my installer, to acclimate to the environment. And then, when my flooring installer came to install it, he found all the wood was bowed/warped -- defective. I returned to Floor & Decor and spoke with a manager, Chris. We walked over to the display of the wood that I'd purchased and, upon examination, he found that the wood was bowed and, therefore, defective. Chris called over a salesperson, Rob, who also confirmed that the wood was defective. There was no dispute that the wood was bad. The problem? Floor & Decor was supposed to send someone to pick up the 60 boxes of defective wood and then provide the $8000 refund. That hasn't happened. I've phoned, visited, emailed -- no response. So 60 boxes of wood remain in my home and no refund has been issued. I don't want to pay to have my contractor return the wood but I think that's what Floor & Decor is hoping I'll do. Very frustrating. read more

He was sooo helpful and knowledgeable, he was soo patient and understanding. He was such a gentleman he didn't allow me to lift a finger. I haven't experienced customer service like this EVER! He made sure I had all the materials I needed to achieve the look I wanted. He assisted me at checkout and then he helped load everything in my car. He was soo informative about how to balance everything in my car as to not put too much pressure on my tires. Every where I go it appears customer service is extinct until I met Johnny! I walked into Floor & Decor needing serious help! At this very moment I was introduced to Levi Vizitiu. I was looking for tile for my bathroom project and had been frustrated. In my tile search I went to Menard's, Home Depot, Lowe's and Hobo.....no luck! Levi was the answer to my prayers! Levi was very knowledgeable and patient. Levi walked me around the store and showed me various samples and helped me make my selection. Plus Levi was very honest with my selection. I'll admit sometimes I'm all over the place but Levi would bring me back to reality with picking the right tile for my project. My only issue with the store was returning three samples we had purchased it took almost half an hour because they're having software issues with the register. Buyer beware!!!! Terrible experience the selection seemed good at first but I purchased wood floors as well as marble tile both of them were defective and had to be returned. When I spoke to a manager about my return he tried to blame my contractors and said they did not know how to install the wood floors. He said he would not take back open boxes but how can we try to install without opening a box? As for the marble it cracked every time they tried to cut a piece. Terrible uniformed employees as well as low quality products. read more

This place has awful customer service!!! Wish I could give no stars! The first time I went here, I asked a staff member some questions in an aisle, but he didn't know the answers. He told me to wait in the aisle while he got more information so he could help me. I stood in the aisle waiting but he never came back!!! After wandering on my own, I finally found another staff member, but he actually stopped a contractor who was shopping there to answer one of my questions!!! Don't they train their staff about the products? Unfortunately, the tile I liked best was at this store so I returned. This time, a female staff member at the front told me she could help me get the tiles I wanted and promptly disappeared. I loaded my cart ON MY OWN with all of my tile boxes (tile boxes are heavy!!), pulled them to the front to pay. The cashier (there's only one with a huge line because all the other staff are busy hiding in the store avoiding customers) rang me up and, as I was signing for my credit card, told me the tiles cannot be returned. Probably useful information that could have been delivered BEFORE I bought them???? No one offered to help. I had to push the heavy cart to my car and load all the boxes ON MY OWN into my car. Go somewhere else!! Absolutely awful customer service and, basically, useless staff!! read more
