Installers were obnoxious and damaged my home in so many ways...dented walls, door jambs, thresholds, furniture, and even the new flooring itself. We just got our stairs freshly carpeted and hall/master switched from wall to wall carpet to hardwood by Ali/Floor Concepts and Design and his team. Loved the low pressure sales - we talked about what I was looking for, he pulled out some samples and talked about color/style/advantages and left me alone for a bit to peruse wood and carpet while he talked to another customer. Prices were very reasonable and quality of the products are very nice, especially compared to the big box stores. Communicated mostly by text, which was helpful to avoid confusion, especially when our first option was back-ordered and we decided to pick a different carpet rather than delay installation. Installation was very easy - the crew of three showed up right on time and got to work quickly. They did a fantastic job and left the place immaculate when they were done. Ali and his crew did an excellent job with our upstairs master bedroom and walk-in closet. My parents recently purchased the new house and the upstairs bedrooms had carpets but the hallway and downstairs had hardwood floor (oak). It's really 2.5 stars. I really try to give most vendors the benefit of the doubt. All I ask for is honesty and if they make a mistake, just admit it. Apologize and we're good. The customer is always right but in this case, I really was right. I had a tenant who was moving out and the new tenant was moving in a few days later. So it was a very small window. Ali and I had emailed back and forth and had settled on a date. I texted the night before the scheduled carpet installation and he responded that it was to be done a day later than we had originally agreed. When I said that we had confirmed that day originally, he disputed it and said it would have to be the next day. He had even emailed me a few weeks earlier that I had been put on his schedule for the day that I was expecting. No apology or anything and he was clearly in the wrong. I would've taken my business elsewhere but I was in a bind. I will say this though...Carlos installed the carpet and did a great job. read more

I had my lower level carpet replaced with laminate flooring from Flooring Concepts and had a great experience. Ali completed my consultation and gave me all of the follow up details he said he would. I also visited the showroom to see other options in person before I decided. the day of the install the installers were a little behind due to the delivery being delayed, however I was not rushing to work so this was not a big concern. the installers helped with moving furniture and then cleaned up well afterwards. it's been several months and I am pleased with the results. I bought a new townhouse that had carpet that I wanted to replace with hardwood. I had everything arranged from out of state with a different contractor, who bailed on me at the last minute. I was on a time crunch because I needed to move into my new home, but wanted the floors done before bringing furniture in. I was very fortunate to find Ali. He uses local products that are in stock, and was able to install my new hardwood on a very short notice. He did a great job matching his products to what the builder already had in my home. His hardwood is clearly a much higher quality than what the builder put in, and it looks fantastic. The installation crew was on time and friendly. I wanted to replace my carpet in my dinning room and living room with hard wood. We thought we matched up the color with the rest of the house but it was not until Floor Concepts and Design came out to give us a quote that we were told it was a different color. Thanks to their experience with builders in Maryland and great eye for color we managed to get both rooms done for 40% off of the price if we had bought just the wood at Lowe's and did it ourselves. He measured and gave a quick estimate of the price of the carpet, and said he would email me a quote, which I never received. My wife and I decided to replace the carpet on our third floor townhouse with hardwood. After a week of determining which company to go with, we met with Ali of Floor Concepts and Design. Ali was courteous, personable and professional during the initial meeting that included sizing (around 800 square feet). Ali's installers are employees of his company rather than subcontractors so there is no question about the ability of the installers. Regardless, we had a little trepidation about the installation. April of 2014 I hired Ali to do my house with Pergo. He was very polite, however, he applied the worst material on my floors which with a drop a water it welts and chips quickly.
