Paid $5300 for carpet throughout the entire house. Installers got there, and refused to vacuum up anything under the old carpet, and began installing it on top of mounds of dirt. Had to stop them to vacuum it ourselves. Installers the removed carpet from a room we were doing vinyl in, and refused to pull up the tack strips "because it is too hard" then wanted additional money to remove them. Called Jay, and he told me to give them some more money and they would do it. Absolutely ridiculous after paying over 5 grand. Was getting ready to spend another $5,000 here and will be going elsewhere. read more

We recarpeted our 2nd floor and initially checked out Home Depot/Lowes, but found much higher quality carpets/pads at Royal Interiors and Ken (the owner) was able to work with the distributors to fit our budget. We recently purchased new wall-to-wall carpeting and padding for our 3 bedrooms from Royal Interiors in Reston,Va. Our experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Mr. Jay Dastouri, the Sales Manager at Royal Interiors, epitomizes customer service excellence. I called Royal Interiors to request and schedule a home visit to discuss and view selections and to have measurements taken toward an estimate. We had already decided our preference of carpet fiber and carpet type as well as color family (tan or gray). I communicated our preferences to Jay. He clearly listened because he brought exactly what we had hoped to see, thus made our carpet selection easy. Jay expertly and patiently addressed all of our questions, then sent us the estimate almost as soon as he returned to the store. Jay went the extra mile for us when he agreed to another home visit to resolve a couple of items that occurred to us after examining an estimate we received from a competitor: re. quantity of carpet needed (competitor reflected more) and padding type (one with a moisture barrier). We certainly didn't want to buy any more or any less carpeting than needed; but we also wanted the carpeting installed as seamlessly as possible. Jay explained that the amount of carpet he indicated presumed a few more seams that would be strategically positioned, thereby reducing our cost. After talking it through, we decided the less seams the better. So he re-measured and arrived at slightly more carpeting needed. We also upgraded to padding with a moisture barrier. Jay worked up the new estimate at our home and we selected him on the spot. That's the level of comfort we felt working with him. He explained that they have their own expert installers (father and sons) who they've used for years. Installation of our new padding and carpeting went smoothly. The installers carefully cleared each bedroom of the furniture in it, removed the old padding and carpeting which they would haul away, then competently installed our new padding and carpeting. This is the second time I have used Royal Interiors. The first time I had my bedroom carpeted and I was happy with the work and the carpet looks great. The second time I had engineered hardwood floors installed. I was very nervous picking out the flooring because if you pick something that doesn't work you are stuck with it! My condo is dark and gets little natural lighting so I went with a light oak floor. Jay the salesman showed me several options and I finally decided on one. The installers showed up right on time and it took most of the day to install the floors. I kept checking back to see the progress. When everything was finally done the floors looked GREAT. I researched and visited at least 8 carpet stores before settling on Royal Interiors and they were by far the most superior. Ken is a joy to work with - he is responsive and very knowledgeable and very professional. He recommended a very luxurious and beautiful stain resistant carpet for us at an unbeatable price. I had Royal Interiors replace the hardwood floors in my house. It took less than a week to order the wood and have it installed. They installed the new flooring very quickly and cleaned up after themselves nicely. Based on my research about hardwood flooring costs, their cost was on the lower end while the quality or work and product were on the higher end. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because you must because of the scheduling. If you are not very explicit and schedule a specific date and time for them to show up, they will show up whenever they are available without any notice. read more

I feel I have to write a review of this place because twice now (in 2 years) I have gone in looking for flooring and left feeling like that was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I went in yesterday looking for a carpet runner for my basement stairs. Not knowing much about carpets, I was expecting the sales person to provide some insight. When I entered the store, no one greeted me (I was the only one in the store) and I had to seek out the sales man and ask for help. When I told him I wanted a runner, he pulled out one pattern of carpet and told me that is what I should get. No other options. When I asked the price, he said $500. I asked how that price compared to other brands, was it high end or low end. He said he couldn't answer a question like that since there are so many different prices. Needless to say, I was underwhelmed so I decided to look at other carpeting stores. The next place I went to had incredibly helpful and knowledgable sales staff and the carpet quote was half of royal interiors for the exact same product. read more

We used this business to change all the carpet in our upstairs bedrooms, hallway and staircase. It was a large and expensive project, pretty disruptive when all the furniture needs to be moved around. The installers were scheduled to arrive at 7:30am for a whole day job. They didn't show up, and nobody contacted us about the delay. After I left phone messages and emails all morning, someone finally contacted us. One person showed up at noon and started moving furniture and ripping out old carpeting. The whole time he was talking on the phone. Only after the job was finished did we find multiple scratches on furniture and dings on the walls. The installers didn't treat the furniture well, the management was unprofessional through the whole process. We will not be using this business again, and won't recommend it to our friends or anyone who wants a professional and reasonably priced service. read more
