First, they installed an expensive maple handrail with a terrible sanding and staining job and a dark black blemish. I had to ask them to replace it and re-sand other portions of their handrail install that were sharp and had splinters. Second, Warren assured us that he would return to refinish our stair treads shortly after installing our railings and spindles. I wanted to do the railing, spindles and treads all at once, but Warren insisted that they needed to break up the project, but that he would be readily available to complete the job. As it turned out, this was a lie and I had been duped with a bait-and-switch. Warren then proceeded to continually cancel and not show up to finish the work for the next two months. The final straw came when he called at 6:30 a.m. on the day he was supposed to arrive (2 months AFTER the job was supposed to be completed) and claimed that he never agreed to remove our old runner rug, and that WE had to do that first before he would finish the stair treads. I ended up firing Woodline and finding a more competent and dependable company to finish the job. I am just sorry I spent over $10,000 first.

I called repeatedly in that time asking when it would be ready and was told it was "in the drying room" and I should call back to see when it would be ready. I called again and each time was told it was being "cleaned again" or in the drying room. Upon pick up I was told it was cleaned five separate times, which caused irreversible damage. It was not dirty enough to be cleaned twice, never mind 5 separate times. The rug was returned with unraveling edges, failed binding, and curling corners. It was in good condition when dropped off. It is now ruined. Completely unusable. This is not normal wear; it is the result of improper cleaning practices. I called to speak to the owner to see what could be done about destroying my rug. The new owner told me he "Planned to do NOTHING about it" and to come pick it up. The business is under new ownership and whatever standards existed before are clearly gone. If you were a long-term customer like I was, be warned: the quality and care are no longer there. I regret trusting them with something I can't replace.
